Himalayas Indian Restaurant City Centre Christchurch

We had dinner at Himalayas. We ordered all the recommended options which were unique and chef special, we were not disappointed. It was amazing. The taste was so so unique. We ordered Himalaya chef special cheese chicken tikka , himalaya special prawn curry( comes with rice),peshwari naan(comes with 4 pieces). Everything was so tasty. The ambience was average, like any other restaurant. The person who waited our table was so friendly and took great care of us. Best thing about the restaurant is the variety and unique food options it offers.

One of the best, flavourful curries we have had in a long time and the lamb was melt in the mouth. Sharing platter was great but make sure you are hungry :). Staff were lovely and being able to bring your own wine was an added bonus. Strong recommendation!

A nice place, amazing service, friendly staff. No extra charges for credit card or paywave. Food quality was good. Chicken tikka was a bit less soft to my standards but overall good. Karahi chicken was also very good and tasty. Quite good taste for a desi food lover. Had Gulab jaman with ice cream at the end. There are few parking spots available outside on street. Recommend to visit

Had the first evening here with friends and enjoyed it so much came back again a couple of nights later food is so fresh and delicious authentic flavours best we have had anywhere

Every dish we tried was delicious. Meat was tender, curries spiced as we requested. The server was very friendly. They let you finish a course before bringing out the next dish, which we loved. Would definitely eat there again. Mango Lassi, Mixed platter, Himalayan Special Lamb Curry, Lamb Methi, Chicken Chenai, Garlic Naan

Very good, VERY good!! Took my mum here for dinner, it’s her first time trying Indian food and she was amazed how flavorful the food is. Very friendly staff, great service. Highly recommend!!

This is our favourite restaurant in Christchurch. We keep on getting drawn back. They easily have the best naans we've ever had, service is always amazing and the curries are stunning, truly flavourful, the spice requests hit exactly where you'd expect it and doesn't override all the beautiful ingredients they use! 10/10 always. My only niche improvement would be to the building itself. Better lighting and an updated decor and paint job for a nicer atmosphere.

Absolutely banger chicken tikka masala, spot on and ACTUALLY SPICY!! Loved it. Tons of places I feel do less spice even when I ask for the hottest option but these guys delivered and it was delicious, couldn’t recommend more, especially if you live nearby! Great service too, super friendly and quick.
