Stayed for just a night for an anniversary trip. Heidi welcomed us warmly and provided our key and a rundown of the facility. Room was clean, nice, and had a very comfortable bed. Location was in the middle of food, shopping, and had easy freeway access. Wonderful stay overall.

We loved our stay at Hines. My mum and I were passing through (travelling from Australia) and didn’t realise the ‘romantic’ vibe of the place when we booked, we laughed looking at the visitor book in our room. The owners were so welcoming and warm to us, even taking us on a tour of other room. Breakfast was beautiful. Thank you so much for a short but memorable experience for my mother and I while passing through. I would definitely come and back and recommend!

If you like rustic and historical buildings, it’s worth a try. Walls near our room are thin; could hear neighboring room until late & we couldn’t sleep. Easy walking distance to town. We loved walking to get breakfast at the French bakery nearby. |It has a lot of potential. The owners should pick up fresh pastries & egg croissants from the local bakery, instead of the current low end cheap processed store bought stuff. Fresh coffee with real cream would be better than the kurig for breakfast.

What a fun place to stay. Reminded me of older hotels in Europe that are created from old Manors. It was very clean and the staff was very friendly. We chose it partially for it proximity to the City Center temple. Also there are many eateries nearby. The rooms looked old but ours had a jetted hot tub. The king bed was comfortable.

Booked the library room which was cute but the box mattress and bed frame seemed old and squeaked with every small movement. Enjoyed the jacuzzi upstairs but other than that there was nothing too exciting about the experience. Breakfast was granola bars, yogurt, little bites, and fruit which was a little disappointing. Was an okay place to stay but definitely not worth the price.

You want to stay here! I've never been more pleasantly surprised with a hotel, ever. First, the women working phones were genuinely kind and helpful getting me a room booked. I was traveling 2000+ miles by train and knew nothing about Provo. They helped put my mind at ease, patiently answering all my questions about the area and booked me a wonderful room. The mansion itself is spectacular in its unique beauty and so very clean. Stained glass windows, brick walls, vintage polished wood floors and beautiful furniture throughout the common areas. The adorable kitchen had vintage stove and offered free breakfast items. (Major perk!) The room itself was decorated in a tasteful nautical theme with a giant, comfy bed, clean linens and lots of pillows. It made for a quiet, restful night sleep. The shocker was the brand-new, huge whirlpool bathtub hiding in the bathroom. The train arrival to Provo was delayed and I had an early morning bus to catch; so my 12 hour (overnight) stay in Provo was cut to just over 7 hours, but you better believe I made time to float in that giant tub- twice. Met a fellow traveler on my way out in the morning and had a nice chat. Perched in the living room/parler area, he had a quiet, comfortable workspace to work on his laptop that I realized felt very homey instead of the offerings of a corporate hotel. It's nice to feel a sense of home when traveling. The Hines Mansion gives you that. I can't say enough great things about the whole experience from start to finish. Recommend this hidden gem to ANYONE. I am certainly planning this stop into my future travels. Thank you Hines Mansion for the wonderful memories. I look forward to spending more time there and getting a full experience.

Nice room just a little hot on the 3 rd floor. Not much of the service as it’s a place for you to have a time away from home but you can always contact staff via text or phone call. Good for new weds or anniversary stay. Jet tubes make everything better!!

We had a wonderful stay at the Hines mansion. Loved the vintage feel with the modern updates. Our room -Ruth room- was very clean and the owner made a good use of the space. The employees that I spoke with were friendly, helpful and accommodating. We appreciate the snacks and beverages that were available to the guest. As visitors from TN, we thoroughly enjoyed the Hines Mansion and charming town of Provo.

Yelp
Poor Hine's Mansion. This place could maybe be nice, but it's clear the owners don't put much love into the building anymore. Not that we ever actually saw them. We got out as soon as we were woken by the sun, (about 6:30am) because there are no blackout curtains as an option. We stayed in the Kitty Hine's Room itself - our experience was a notch above roadside motel. The tub had foul black mold specs floating about, the paint on the walls was peeling, the bed creaked something fierce, and there was no true breakfast - just an assortment of almost "continental" baskets of snacks purchased to meet the bare requirements to title this location as a "Bed & Breakfast". The A/C was blasting all night long. We requested that the owner allow us to either turn it down or do something to fix it. We were told to grab a space heater to combat the never ending blast of wind. Needless to say, it was ineffective. You may just want to save the money and stay at a hotel, or even a roadside motel.

Yelp
What a tragedy. Shakespeare's Hamlet has nothing on the downfall of the Hines Mansion. My husband and I have visited for years, staying in the beloved library room. We loved the food. We loved the elegant chandeliers. We loved the FEEL of this place. You know how places have a feel?? Well, that all changed tonight. When we walked into the mansion, we expected to find what always welcomed and awaited us: a 19th Century Victorian cupola complete with lace curtains, mahogany armories, corbeled brick belt courses, luxurious carpet the color of rust--but no. The new owners have decimated it, putting in cheap tile and gobsmackingly awful gray walls the color of a dead man's epidermis. No more breakfast. No one there to greet us. Like an empty tomb. The portrait of Kitty Hines watched us...I swear I could hear her sobbing.

Yelp
Cozy historical bed and breakfast with great food, fair price, quiet, friendly atmosphere. Looking forward to returning.

Yelp
One night Anniversary trip. Apparently there was some sort of mixup with the booking - the place is currently being renovated and they were not accepting reservations- but we were accommodated. There was no breakfast as a result - but again we were accommodated. The mansion was recently sold and has a new owner. When we arrived it was kind of exciting to see an elderly man who was a previous owner from days gone by visiting the property. We stayed in the library room which was a lot of fun. Reading through people's visits over the years was very enjoyable. As well as reading through the mansion's history. There were so many books that reminded me of my childhood. We were unable to work the tv. There were instructions available- but the instructions indicated that if the steps were taken and did not work you should call the innkeeper. The innkeeper was called - but it was 9:00 pm and we received a message that it was outside work hours. We survived fine without. All Wi-Fi was locked. As a previous owner of historic property of the same er I would love to renovate this house and bring it back to it's original glory! It must really have been something back in it's day. It is sad to see antique homes modernized with carpeting, wallpaper, and painting on materials that were not meant to be painted. I was able to see the beautiful original flooring in the kitchen, and it appears much of the original moldings still exist. So much beauty to be preserved! There are many wonderful antiques and the outdoors are well kept, Anyway - what a grand place and I hope this place will be as beautiful as it once was!

Yelp
I didn't like the check in protocol. When we arrived there was a sign on the door saying to look at your email for instructions on how to check in. I had all the emails for my trip printed so I looked at them and didn't see the relevant information. Since I had been travelling all day my phone was almost dead but luckily it lasted long enough for me to retrieve the email they had just sent me two hours prior (while I was in route). It would have been easier if I had received the email the prior day/evening. Once you use the email instructions to get in the door they just have the keys to all the rooms laying on a table. I didn't feel like that practice was very safe. The house is really cute, it was clean, and was nicely decorated for Halloween. Our room was large and cute but the bed wasn't very comfortable. The giant tub was clean but odd that it was right by the entry door to the room so you wouldn't want to be showering or using the tub if anyone was going to come or go from your room. Our room was directly next to the front door to the house so if timed incorrectly someone could easily see you bathing. The walls here are not thick. We had multiple issues because of this. Since we were at the front near the street we heard lots of noise from outside. Also, any time someone would enter or exit the house we would hear everything. The worst part is that we could hear all of the "fun" another couple was having in the room near to us. Breakfast was amazing! The girls that were making breakfast were nice and the food was fresh, hot, filling, and tasty.

Yelp
We booked a stay and unfortunately had to cancel due to my wife being hospitalized which ate up all her paid time off. We were well-beyond a month prior to the trip which entitled us to cancel. Tried emailing [stay(at)hinesmansion(dot)com], no answer. Tried calling, no answer, left a voicemail. Tried emailing again, no answer. Tried calling again, no answer and voicemail wasn't even working. Called my credit card company and disputed the charge. What a shame. Now that we're past the date we should have stayed, they charged us again for the remainder of the stay. We still have not heard back from Hines Mansion and I had not gotten a response to this review.

Yelp
We stayed at the Hines a few years ago and would have given it 5 stars. Fabulous hosts, amazing breakfast- we'll, that's gone. It has recently been sold to a new owner and he has some college-age kids running it. I called on the Monday before our reservation and the guy told me that their cook quit the day before and hopefully they'd replace her. When we checked in, no one came to help us, our room key was on the desk with someone else's name. No one around..... Finally after about 1/2 an hour, we went up to the room ( lfeeling weird- hoping that someone else wasn't in it). When they finally arrived, they announced that the cook quit the day before (this was Sat.). Hmmmmm. They left us prepackaged muffins, a yogurt and a small juice in the stinky fridge. No spoons, coffee, tea, etc. The help took off after we arrived- there was no one around. The room was clean, which was good. It felt like they were trying to cheap out on everything- hand soap dispenser was empty, no body wash or bath soap, only 2 towels. Bummer that the previous owners sold out. We will miss the luxury experience of the Hines.

Yelp
My husband and I stayed in November 2023. No one was there to greet us and our room key was waiting on desk, wouldn't have been a big deal, but I feel it was a safety concern upon reflection because the front entrance was not locked. Get to our room, no Internet. Call "We just changed password TODAY" Even with the password we could not connect to the cable. Whatever we make the best of it. After taking a bubble bath we used the shower head to rinse ourselves, it comes loose from the hose and the hose started wiggling and spraying everywhere. (It was actually pretty funny). Next early morning we run out of toilet paper, we call "We will have some there ASAP". Meanwhile we are using facial tissue. Okay well at least we can get some coffee and breakfast. Walk into kitchen, nothing but a coffee maker with 4 vanilla creamers and those cute little sugar cubes. No sign of anyone or any notes. Go back to our room and call again "Our cook quit YESTERDAY". Sack breakfast in fridge. Breakfast is in the name. Left about an hour later, and still NO toilet paper!!! My husband and I are not fancy and could have laughed off a couple of things. I Emailed them, waited 4 days with no response. Husband called "We just got new management and we don't have access to the Email for there own site. But someone will get back to you in a few days. ". Jump to today and my husband calls, ""We have a note we reimbursed your card". My husband tells them he is looking at our account and that has not happened. To which they reply "$15 is what we will be giving. (7.5% discount of the room price). So sorry to ramble, but don't stay here. Better off at motel 6. Hot breakfast and Toilet Paper

Yelp
After a long drive from Southern California my wife and I were exhausted and hungry. Arriving at the Hines Mansion in late afternoon we were greeted warmly by the staff and given an excellent dinner recommendation at the Station 22 restaurant. Highly recommend it too...our accommodations in the Queen Victoria room were great and breakfast in the morning was really good. The Hines Mansion won't disappoint if you're staying in the Provo area!!

Yelp
I stayed here with my husband on our wedding night and it was absolutely wonderful. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was spacious, and we had a huge tub in the room that even had headrests. The mansion itself was charming and had a very welcoming and comfortable atmosphere. The two staff members we saw while we were there were friendly and made sure we were comfortable. Breakfast in the morning was homemade and very delicious, plus they had out fruit and candy the whole time. It was a great place to come to after an amazing (and exhausting) day.

Yelp
If I could give a negative star rating, I would. Upon check-in, we immediately smelled a strong odor in the house and in our room. It was so strong, it was giving me a headache. We talked to the owner and she told us that she used Lysol on everything from the Pillows to the Linens. The smell was toxic! We talked to the owner and said we couldn't stay due to the smell. She told us she would refund us, then refused to do so. She hung up on us and I am appalled at her unprofessionalism. I can't imagine that this place would be open much longer. With this type of management, this place is bound to go out of business soon. Our trip was an anniversary trip and I am so sad and disappointed that we wasted a night here. Please save your time and money and go somewhere else. I would never recommend this place to anyone. Everything from the unprofessionalism, to the odors, to the cheesy decorations- it was such a disappointment!!

Yelp
Very fun concept....not a very fun stay. My husband and I wanted somewhere unique to stay for our 25th anniversary. The rooms were fun themed and the decor was well done but dusty. We enjoyed the large jetted tub but everything in the room and bathroom seemed a little cramped. When we were on our way down to breakfast we overheard the manager complaining about us to the other patrons because we were 5 minutes late for breakfast. On top of that, there were no breakfast choices. We had to eat whatever the manager chose to make that morning. Overall, it was not enjoyable and we left with a bad taste in our mouths...not just from the food.

Yelp
Spent the night here for our 1-year anniversary. Had a great experience. The room was beautiful! Breakfast was delicious and the staff was very friendly. We ended up talking with the other couples during breakfast and we all loved our experience there.

Yelp
My husband and I stayed here for our wedding night and then again on our anniversary. We loved it. The decor was great as was the breakfast. We enjoyed chatting with other guests and the owners at breakfast the next morning. The room was a bit chilly (we stayed there in December), but I'm sure that was our fault-- they probably had something we could have done about it. But all the better for cuddling!
