HINOYA

Hinoya is one of those shops that we have been planning to visit for a long time. It was a rainy day at Ameyoko area. Finally made our way into Hinoya. Took two rounds of browsing to settle on a pair of Studio D’Artisan jeans. Staff are generally cheerful and helpful, so make sure to get their help and advice if you’re unfamiliar or unsure what you’re looking for. If you don’t find what you’re looking for, it might be stashed somewhere in another one of the many stores under the Hinoya ownership in the area. They do in-store hemming. So make sure to ask if you need those denims shortened.

Best jeans shop in Tokyo by far. Great staff with helpful insights. Helped me get the black denim that I wanted. Also great selection of brands from Oni, Momotaro, Sugar Cane, and many more.

Knowledgable staffs, super attentive, helped me pick out my first Japanese denim. Had it altered on the spot took about an hour. I was extremely happy that I picked up 2 pairs of dark indigo denim! Great prices about 40-50% less than if I were to pick them up in the USA. A must if you are visiting Tokyo!

Great store, but my one small criticism is that when it comes to the popular brands such as Momotaro and Studio D’Artisan, there’s not much stock and sizes available. Sadly my hope of buying a pair of Momotaro jeans during my visit did not happen and I had to look elsewhere. That said, the staff were very helpful offering alternatives and suggestions. Store is very busy and tight, but fun nonetheless.

Good service but the selection of jeans is actually rather limited. There are Japanese jean shops in london with a wider selection than this. There was only 1 pair I liked but they were too narrow in the leg. They can shorten jeans in 2 hrs for 500 yen, which is steep being as the jeans are so expensive. Many other shops will alter for free at this price.

Great selection of jeans for westerners. Staff were great. Yuka was extremely helpful and patient with me in finding the right fit and style. Couldn’t have asked for more. So happy with the jeans I ended up buying an extra pair. Alternations usually take 1.5 hrs which is relatively handy when you’re only in town for a while. Definitely size up in terms of waist and length isn’t a problem here. I think they had waist sizes up to 40 and possible above. Tax free shopping (10%), so remember to take your passport.

Cool shop with a huge selection of shirts, denim and jackets. Every time I go there, I receive perfect customer services even I do not buy every time I go there. Compared to some other shops that sell similar products, Hinoya is definitely one of the best who provide excellent customer service. Highly recommended!

Great selection of high quality denim. I bought a pair of Pure Blue Japan jeans here. The staff was friendly and helpful and gave me his opinion on the fit of the jeans on me. They also hem the jeans for you for 500 yen. I’m going back before I leave to buy some chinos here. They carry all the big names in Japanese denim.
