I had a drink of their sparkling white wine at the welcome reception of The Royal Hotel in Picton and I loved it. Hotel staff told us where the wine is from and I just had to go get myself a bottle. The pricing is decent and they have free wine shipping which I found interesting. The place itself was designed very old school nothing to special. Staff were nice and helpful.

Had the chance to visit and loved my experience. This winery isn’t super flashy, it is a natural relaxing atmosphere with great staff. We tried the three methods tasting and fell in love with the Ancestral, came home with two bottles. It was an easy drinking and goes with everything. We had the joy of being served by Vicki, she was so helpful easy to talk to and went out of her way to make our experience perfect. They also have a cute selection of merchandise, with some supporting terry fox foundation which I really liked. Will definitely be coming back next time I’m in PEC.

Must stop for your next wine tour!! Vicky and the team were so sweet and knowledgeable. The Bellini slush was so refreshing on a hot day. Loved their white cap sparkling wine and of course had to purchase some to take home. Their space is super cute as well.

If you enjoy sparkling wine or a peach billini then this is the place to stop! Smaller winery but several white and rose options for your sparkling wine fix. There were only two young men serving this day but they were helpful and delivered our flights to our table.

We arrived there with high expectations, people from around telling us it’s the best place for sparkling wines that could be comparable to champagne (on se calme!!). We had 2 flights of 3 wines, total 6. The 3 charmat ones (price range 23-25$) were indescribably bad and waaaaay too sweet to our taste, one had a funky feet smell (awfull). The traditional method flight (around 40$) was better since one of the 3 ended up with us in the car, the rosé one. We need to state that we usually enjoy sparkling wines even if it’s not our forte, but we need to tell that Hinterland would be to this date the only place where we left the wine flights half full. Staff was polite and helpful, venue is nice, crowd of ladies having a good time (that’s the reason for the 3 stars, the wine is not included, no star for that, sorry).

Nice place to discover some bubbles instead of wine. The staff is super friendly and the place is cozy. The views are really nice.

One of the best vineyards I have visited in Ontario. First time I met Blancs de Blancs champagne here in Canada. My favourite kind of grapes!!! Strongly recommend everyone to make a visit here.

Hinterland is a great winery and busy for a good reason! They bring a lot to PEC through their new methods and variety of bubbly wines. Highly recommend!

Not only best sparkling wine in Ontario, but also amazing staff and service. Beautiful grounds. Always a must visit when in the County.

Sometimes you want something light and sparkling?! Hinterland Wine Company offers sparkling wines only and what they have is really good! Perfect drink for the summer. The staff here is friendly and patient. The decor is modern but rustic. I love those Muskoka chairs on the patio. Kids friendly. Worth dropping by when in PEC.

We were recommended this place as they serve a Peach bellini. It was alright. The outdoor seating was really the highlight of the experience. The bellini was ok. One person got one that was too sweet, the other was too watery, the last was perfect. I'm not sure if they just needed to be mixed better, but not really worth the trip as advertised.

Deep among the vineyards of Prince Edward County is Hinterland, a winery that specializes in sparkling wines and ciders, produced by both traditional and charmat methods. The former barn tasting room is modern with a soaring ceiling and some tables. Along one wall is the long, tasting counter. The opposite side exits out to a covered area with communal tables and some Adirondack chairs, which looks out at a part of the vineyard. There's a small outdoor play area for children. Beautiful space. A few sparkling wines and ciders are available for taste and/or purchase. The friendly staff pour out 2 oz tastings in elegant, fluted, stemless glasses, at $2 or $3 each. These are terrific sparkling wines, all with pleasing complexities and flavor profiles, each quite different from each other, but all run on the dryer side. No straightforward sweet ones for those who prefer it, but this would be a great place to try something new. Their ciders are good too. Bottles are well priced, generally under $25 for most sparkling wines, under $20 for ciders, more for their traditionally made Les Etoiles. Worth getting to go. A highly recommended stop on any visit to PEC.

This was our third stop in our PEC mini wine tour. The staff were knowledgeable and spoke to us about what we liked and made a few suggestions. They also have a cider, which was a nice change. They offer 2oz tasting pours for $3...which is actually a better value than most places.

We rented bikes and bikes to this vineyard. It is one of the very very few wine vineyards that offer cooked food instead of light snacks. The Pulled Pork Sandwich was quickly sold out so we settled for Jerk Chicken. The Jerk Chicken was barbecued (quarter chicken) and it was not spicy like traditional jerk chicken recipes. It came with coleslaw, rice, and plantain chips. We ordered the Meat Charcuterie dish and it was delicious. It was great for sharing and it had a lot of variety: meat slices, sausage, bread sticks, cheese, jam, bread, and etc. We saw a bunch of customers ordering the Slushy Peach Bellini so we ordered it. It was very overrated and it was mostly juice. We were very disappointed in that. We tried every single wine flight that was on the menu and our favourite was the Les Etoiles. It was also their most expensive bottle on their menu. We each ordered a bottle of it home because it tasted so good. Staff were very friendly and the view from their patio is amazing. It is great for dogs and children with the large space to move around.

This was our first stop in the PEC region. We did a tasting of their bubblies and ciders. Overall, the quality wasn't bad, their most outstanding drink was the Les Etoiles (also their most expensive bottle, priced at $39). We bought a bottle for ourselves. They also serve food and bellinis there. They have a nice space for you to grab lunch in front of their vineyard. It's definitely different from all the other wineries that I've been to.

Great place to come for tastings. We always bring visitors here, although the last couple of years it's become super-rammed through the weekends. Beware enormous groups of tourists taking selfies in every possible location (though that's not exclusive to Hinterland). The sparkling wines here are very popular. The quality has maybe dipped the last few times - Whitecap in particular - but it's a pretty spot that's easy to get to, with lots of space for kids to run around.

The staff here are all so friendly which makes the experience all the better! It seriously makes such a big difference. Beautiful vineyard and patio out back. I also loved that you can grab a bite here. We only got to try the baked oyster with prosciutto and cheese since we were full. The oysters were fresh and delicious but could've done without the prosciutto. I'd definitely visit again. It is also on the same road as 4-5 other wineries nearby so worth a stop!

The atmosphere was lovely. A great spot to enjoy wine and oysters. The servers were friendly and the space was nice. I would definitely recommend coming to try their wines!

We adore this winery. Vicki and Jonas have created a great group of premium sparkling wines from Prince Edward County. The education in sparkling is worth the visit to this renewed dairy barn in Hillier, just north of Wellington. They are really one of a kind and totally worth the trip. Their product is available in a number of restos. but the tasting at the winery will give you so much insight into the process and work behind each glass of their wines. We like to bring friends and family to this winery whenever we can, and no one has been disappointed.

I've wanted to visit this sparkling-only winery for a while, but finally had the chance a few days ago. They only produce sparkling wine, so know that before you arrive, but they are delicious and reasonably priced. Their production is by both the charmat and the traditional method. I have to admit that I was a bit hesitant when I saw the age of our server - he looked really young. Once he started talking about the winery, however, I saw his passion and knowledge truly shine through. My friend asked him about the different methods of sparkling wine production (I've taken a Sommelier course, but didn't say anything) and his answer was spot on - and he could point out different parts of the winery to show exactly what he was talking about. There is a little shop with bins of wine, a refrigerator of chilled wine, and a few odds and ends like a cap that you can put over your unfinished sparkling wine to preserve the bubbles. I inquired about the cost, just to be polite, and they said it was $10 for the cap. Seeing as how I have never ever had unfinished sparkling wine I decided against incurring the expense. Tasting fees were $6 for 3 samples with a fairly generous pour. Tasting fees were waived with purchase (I think there was a minimum purchase requirement - my friend and I split a tasting since she was driving) so we didn't pay anything. Based on the generous pours and the quality of the product, though, I wouldn't have complained if we had been charged the $6. They have oysters and charcuterie plates as well! You can't go wrong with a visit to Hinterland. Loved it.

The first and still the best producer of sparkling wines in the County. They even bottle bubblies for some of the other wineries who don't have the specialized equipment themselves. I have been buying their Whitecap for years now, and I would say that they are getting even better at expressing the terroir of the County with each vintage. And the Borealis, the Ancestral, and the Les Etoiles are all excellent and provide a spectrum of tastes and weights to compliment just about any situation and meal. Hinterland also has events at the winery so keep an eye out for these as they are great and tend to sell out pretty quickly.

Fun place to try sparkling and cider in the city. Packed in the summer given it is next door to County Road Beer. Staff are friendly. Juice was ok, but it's a fun place, so 4/5. Place is more like a warehouse for small/medium sized business.

Delicious bubbles, and something for everyone. I like dry and they have lots of great options. The rose and whitecap are my favourites. Shout out to Les Etoiles as well. Some are refrigerated if you want to drink asap. Pretty labels, great location and atmosphere. The charcuterie was luxurious. It's always a party with great music and friendly people who do the tastings. Highly recommend.

Fantastic winery. Sparkling is a fantastic representation of the county's unique terroir and Jonas makes the very best. Wonderfully warm and gracious staff. Definitely one of my very favourite places in the county.
