Was searching for a decent traditional rice dumpling n a foodie friend recommended Hiong Kee. I never knew about this stall, so I went last week to buy a few home to try. The q was relatively long, but fast. It the best I had so far(compared to the popular Kim choo n Dian xiao er). Went there this morning to buy 40pcs to give away to friends n neighbors. Good stuff must share! The lady at the stall was super friendly and patient.

Really solid dumplings from a long-time hawker stall. Each one is packed with ingredients - pork, mushroom, chestnut & the rice is nicely done, not mushy or too oily. Portions are generous too. Prices do go up during festive seasons, which is understandable. The friendly auntie running the stall is always warm & welcoming. She also has another stall downstairs that focuses just on making the dumplings. Great spot for anyone craving traditional bak chang done right.

One of my fave dumpling stalls in SG. I love the Nyonya dumpling the most, although some may find the filling a tad sweet. Queue moves fast as long as you’re not buying during 端午节.

Crazy queue at this dumplings store during the dumplings festival. They only serve walk-in as I was informed. No reservations. They start selling at around 8am, queue starts as early as 630am. After I've tried their dumplings, it's one the best I've eaten (though I'm not much of a dumplings fan)

Located on the 2nd level of Hong Lim Food Centre. The price of the dumplings is reasonable. The size of it, is also just nice to have it for tea break or even breakfast. Have quite a variety of different type of dumplings. The pork dumplings are always good. The queue always moves fast. The service is prompt and efficient. Buy and go. Less than 5 mins, you can buy the dumplings.

Queued at Hiong Kee Dumplings for their famous Pork Dumplings. I was number 9 behind. Reaching the stall, I noticed that the prices of their dumplings had increased - $6.30 for Bak Chang with salted egg yoke and $5.70 for Nonya Chang. I thought, “Oh well, Dragon Boat Festival is approaching, the increased in prices were justifiable.” After placing my orders, had a short conversation with the stall holder asking her when would the prices be back to $4.80 for the Bak Chang with Salted Egg Yoke. And she said current prices had been there for many weeks already. There would be price increases next week for Dragon Boat Festival period. Huh??? Another increase when prices already so high? Wah, we better eat what we just ordered slowly - small bites at a time, to savor the dumplings. Or else with further price increases, it would be “hard to swallow”, however delicious 😱😱😱

What a bad experience at this store. I was there to take away and asked if she could help me unwrap the dumpling. Her reply was a rude “I don’t have time”. There was no customer at the store at that time. Besides paying $5.20 for it (which is the cost of a proper meal and not just a dumping), parts of the rice in the dumpling were half cooked !
