I stayed at this hotel almost a year ago. The rooms are themed and have basic amenities, and the location is great. Reception was friendly and breakfast was decent. The reason I am giving 1 star is due to a very serious safety concern. I was staying alone, and in the middle of the night a drunk man was wandering the floor. I am not even sure if he was a guest. He tried opening my door—I stayed completely quiet, hoping he would leave. Instead, he found a staff member and convinced them that my room was his. Shockingly, the staff member opened the door without verifying his identity. I was inside and immediately shut it back. The staff member did knock beforehand, but as a solo female traveler, I had no way of knowing who was on the other side. They also never checked the man’s ID, which made the situation even more unsafe. This was by far the scariest experience I’ve had while traveling, and I do not feel that the hotel took guest security seriously. The next day at checkout, I addressed the incident, but it was brushed off with just a casual apology. While I would recommend the hotel for its location and themed rooms, I strongly urge them to take guest safety more seriously and step up their security measures.

We loved the central location of this hotel on the main pedestrian street amongst shops and restaurants.||Our rooms were Roma and Peking, both of which were highly unique, very clean and comfortable. The staff we encountered were super friendly.||Parking outside is not possible, so we’d recommend you drive to the end of Theatrestrausse to where you can see the pedestrianised part, and take your baggage to the hotel. If you don’t have a roof box or high vehicle, there are plenty of underground parking options (the closest being P11 one street over on Sandgasse near the university). If you do have a roof box, P10 parking has enough height (even though underground) – on foot this is some way from the hotel (especially if you have lots of bags).||Overall would highly recommend this hotel.

We stayed at this hotel for three days at the New Year. The setting is excellent, though it took a bit of walking with our luggage to access, and get around stairways inside to access our room. We knew of the themes to the room, but were pleasantly surprised with the interesting character. We stayed in Malolo and Down Under. Malolo was set up as a Fiji cottage which was very cool, though my one complaint was that the outer space was under lit and so felt very dark. The beds were kind of standard and not super luxurious. The staff were kind, and the overall this was a good choice for a unique experience.

Okay hotel in a great location. All rooms have a different theme. We were in Wein which has seen better days. At night it can be noisy coming from the restaurant & street below.

Nice hotel in great location - right in heart of Heidelberg. Themed rooms are interesting, we stayed in the Ottawa room which was clean and comfortable. Decor is cool. Beyond the theme the rooms are fairly basic, but for the value they’re ok. Our room had a window that could open out looking onto the bustling street which was very picturesque. No aircon unit but there is a fan. The staff in the hotel are all very welcoming and helpful. Breakfast is the usual buffet style - fairly average but perfectly fine. Probably better off grabbing breakfast at one of the cafes a short walk away. Nice beer garden at the back of the hotel and also seats outside the front to enjoy a drink in the evening.

Great hotel in old town Heidelberg. Missed AC which was needed lying on the top floor in the house. So yes, it was a bit too warm right now. Cool naming (our room was not a number but “Paris”). Friendly staff and decent prices.

This hotel has a great theme with rooms decorated in style of different city’s like Bali, Amsterdam and so on. We stayed in Nairobi. The room was quite nice but not worth the €150 we payed for. The room was warm, quite small and not completely clean. We didn’t have the idea staying in a hotel, looked more like an Airbnb room because there is no real lobby or contact with people working there. Breakfast was in the restaurant next door, we decided to have breakfast outdoors because of the high price (€12,50) pp. Parking is around the corner, and price ok.

An eccentric hotel! Thought it was an ideal location and good value for money
