We stayed at this hotel for three days at the New Year. The setting is excellent, though it took a bit of walking with our luggage to access, and get around stairways inside to access our room. We knew of the themes to the room, but were pleasantly surprised with the interesting character. We stayed in Malolo and Down Under. Malolo was set up as a Fiji cottage which was very cool, though my one complaint was that the outer space was under lit and so felt very dark. The beds were kind of standard and not super luxurious. The staff were kind, and the overall this was a good choice for a unique experience.

Okay hotel in a great location. All rooms have a different theme. We were in Wein which has seen better days. At night it can be noisy coming from the restaurant & street below.

Great hotel in old town Heidelberg. Missed AC which was needed lying on the top floor in the house. So yes, it was a bit too warm right now. Cool naming (our room was not a number but “Paris”). Friendly staff and decent prices.

Nice hotel in great location - right in heart of Heidelberg. Themed rooms are interesting, we stayed in the Ottawa room which was clean and comfortable. Decor is cool. Beyond the theme the rooms are fairly basic, but for the value they’re ok. Our room had a window that could open out looking onto the bustling street which was very picturesque. No aircon unit but there is a fan. The staff in the hotel are all very welcoming and helpful. Breakfast is the usual buffet style - fairly average but perfectly fine. Probably better off grabbing breakfast at one of the cafes a short walk away. Nice beer garden at the back of the hotel and also seats outside the front to enjoy a drink in the evening.

This hotel has a great theme with rooms decorated in style of different city’s like Bali, Amsterdam and so on. We stayed in Nairobi. The room was quite nice but not worth the €150 we payed for. The room was warm, quite small and not completely clean. We didn’t have the idea staying in a hotel, looked more like an Airbnb room because there is no real lobby or contact with people working there. Breakfast was in the restaurant next door, we decided to have breakfast outdoors because of the high price (€12,50) pp. Parking is around the corner, and price ok.

Cute, quirky hotel with unique rooms and a good restaurant but most importantly: excellent staff. The welcome was exceptionally warm and forthcoming, and our requests during the stay were met with kindness and understanding, and quickly realised. Having stayed here for a whole week, it was easy to feel homely in "Dehli". Is the room slightly outdated? Maybe. But I prefer comfort and kindness to state-of-the-art. The location? Perfect! A supermarket within 2 minutes of walking distance, the castle-tram a mere 5 minutes, restaurants and shopping all around. PS: I asked for a tea station and it was put into the room. I highly recommend the HIP-Hotel.

We booked 6 rooms over the New Year period for 12 of us. All of the rooms have different themes and are very quirky. All of them were really nice. We did have problems with hot water and therefore 3 couples moved for the final 2 nights and were given a decent refund. The Staff handled the problem really well and we had no complaints. We therefore have seen quite a few of the rooms. The best in my opinion, were, Khatmandu, amazing shower, Bali, really pretty, Peking and Wein. However, I think you would be happy with any. We are planning to return to this beautiful city in the summer and will definitely stay here.

This hotel has no room numbers and every room is different - which is quite unusual! Of course you don't get to see all the rooms, except in pictures. Each one is themed to a different city - I happened to get Vienna, with classic Viennese decoration and furnishings- really nice room. It's on the main pedestrianised street of the old city of Heidelberg, great location and quiet too.
