Hippocampus Hotel

Great hotel in the centre of Kumari. The hotel was always kept clean and the staff are very friendly, responsive and accommodating - special thanks to Barbara for all her help during our stay! |Great facilities in the rooms - comfortable beds, AC, fully mirrored wardrobe, balcony and kettle available on request. We also enjoyed our breakfast buffet.|The location was ideal, 2mins walk to the beach and 5mins walk to the bus stop for the local bus to Fira. Good supermarkets and restaurants literally on the doorstep.||We had a great stay, no complaints at all. Would recommend. Thanks for a lovely stay!

One of the best hotels I've ever stayed at... Such a warm, family feel which is true, honest and humble... It's not "5 star" in your traditional sense but it's immaculate in service and well up there. The family that run it make this 6 star in my opinion... Such lovely people and even the cleaners would meet you with a smile and a "good morning" - it felt perfect. The pools and recent work ARE 5 star... Honestly could not give it higher praise. There is a little takeaway opposite with lovely gyros for a quick lunch and a very nice restaurant on the corner too. As others have said - the receptionist could not do more for you. 2-3 min walk to the beach and restaurants, supermarkets and an array of bars, airport pickups and an ample and well stocked buffet breakfast.

This is a quality hotel in the middle of the resort , only approx 100 yards from the beach .|Inside the hotel, nice and quite with no outside noise .|We stayed in 3 no double rooms with balconies , all had air con , and the beds nice and comfortable , ample clothes storage . Rooms cleaned daily.|Breakfast was good,buffet style , and nice seating areas outside .|Two pools , one excellent for swimming, sunbeds available at all times |Small bar , served drinks and cocktails all day to approx 8 pm .|Nice to have a pre evening drink ,and then hit the numerous bars and restaurants outside , which are all basically on your door step |Staff at hotel all excellent , nice and friendly , with a typical Greek warm welcome .

What is not to like about this hotel. Clean well situated for everything and lovely helpful staff.||Pool was cold as it was May but great for cooling off before going back to the sun.||Breakfast was simple but ample and you’re totally spoiled for eating places. Check out the Grill opposite for great kebabs and Jiros. Also Alforno Italian. Food was amazing and reasonably priced we went 3 times. Thank you to all the staff who were great.

We stayed at hippocampus from 9th to 16th if July. The rooms and the whole structure are delicious. Position is perfect, in the best part of Kamari. We felt like home with our hosts being so kind all the time. After our visit to Naxos we had few hours to burn and we decided to go back to Kamari. So they were so kind to let us store the luggages and use the bar.

We didn’t stay at this hotel but visited late this evening because we were desperately searching for a taxi to take us back to our Airbnb and couldn’t find anything. The receptionist was so kind and called someone to pick us up who was there within 15 minutes. She didn’t need to do this as we weren’t her guests, but clearly took pity on the exhausted looking pregnant lady 😅 the hotel looks beautiful from the outside and was so friendly. Thank you so much!

We stayed in room 104 for a week where we had an amazing time. It was calm and quiet with a perfect view on the back pool. All receptionist ladies were ever so kind and helpful. Also the lovely man behind the bar makes very delicious cocktails, dont miss it! (Hippo- jippo was our favorite one). I would highly recommend this hotel for families and couples to have a memorable vacation! It is also superclose to the beach and bus station to Fira, Oia. Xxx Bea and Jozy from Budapest
