Hiroshima no Yado Aioi stands out for its exceptional location—right next to the Peace Memorial Park, offering a truly unique and meaningful view. Our room was spacious, which is always a plus in Japan, and the breakfast was delicious, featuring local specialties that gave us a real taste of the region. The staff was incredibly kind and polite, making us feel welcome throughout our stay. The only slight downside was that, given the price, we expected something a bit more refined. The room showed some signs of aging, which made it feel a little less polished than anticipated. That said, for the location, service, and comfort, it's still a solid choice for a stay in Hiroshima.

Quaint family run hotel directly across the Hiroshima Peace park, museum and Genbaku Dome. Minutes on bus or tram from Hiroshima Train Station. The staff treated us like royalty as soon as we stepped into the foyer. Our names were posted in the foyer, names on our shoe shelf and posted outside the private dining room. Rooms are spacious like apartments with separate living areas, kitchen, toilet room, bath area and front foyer. The kind staff filled out all our luggage delivery forms and called the next hotel on our behalf. If you enjoy futons this hotel will fit the bill being a very traditional roykan. Maker you sure include the traditional 10 course Kaiseki dinner; it is outstanding. At checkin they offer a small gift and sweet. At checkout they gift you postcards. Such a sweet family!

Hiroshima no Yado Aioi is ideally located, just steps away from the Peace Memorial Park, which is its standout feature. The room itself was fairly spacious, though considering the price, we had hoped for something a bit more polished. It showed some wear and tear, and while we’ve used futons before, this one was notably thin and became uncomfortable after a while which detracted from the overall experience.

Staying here was a highlight of our visit to Hiroshima and one of our favorite places that we stayed in Japan! The location can’t be beat, literally across the street from the A-bomb dome and a 2 minute walk from the museum and Peace Park. Also very close to different eateries and shops to check out. Great onsen with nice views. The room was spacious, clean, quiet, and had beautiful views. The breakfast was amazing, probably 8-10 different traditional dishes to try and all delicious—I don’t usually recommend hotel breakfasts, but this one can’t be missed. The staff were extremely welcoming and helpful. Wonderful, traditional Japanese hotel. Wouldn’t recommend staying anywhere else!

Situated directly across from the Hiroshima A-Dome site, this hotel boasts a superb location near malls and amenities, with friendly staff enhancing the stay. Despite these advantages, several issues detract from the overall experience. The decor is outdated, and the air conditioning struggles with cooling, making it uncomfortable on warmer days. Guests must inconveniently leave room keys at the front desk upon each exit. Moreover, the in-room TV is notably smaller than advertised, and the absence of a breakfast option is a missed opportunity.

Had a sumptuous one night stay here, introducing the family to the ryokan experience. Check-in was gracious and easy, the family room was a good size (for Japan!) and the air conditioning in August was super-frosty. All facilities clean, with yukatas all round including little ones for the kids at reception. A sobering view of the A-bomb dome across the road, secreted behind trees providing kind cover. The onsen was hot and very welcome after all that walking. Traditional breakfast was a feast-like experience and the pickled plums turned our heads inside-out. Had a friendly chat with the owner as we checked out - a big Carp fan - that rounded off a very pleasant traditional stay.

First and foremost, the staff were all excellent; very friendly and helpful.||The hotel's entrance is very nice with some uniquely Japanese features. You then need to remove and store your shoes in the genkan before entering the lobby. The hotel provides slippers, but just wearing your socks is fine too.||The lobby has a nice Japanese garden outside and the check-in process is quick and efficient.||There were some complimentary traditional Japanese cookies to enjoy on arrival to our room which were a nice touch, and we had a washitsu (traditional Japanese tatami room) on the 5th floor that was both spacious and very clean with a view of the A-Bomb Dome directly opposite from the hotel. Not exactly a 'nice' view in the traditional sense, but a somber reminder of the cities' history and we took the time to reflect on this while observing the destroyed but still beautiful building.||The Peace Park and Museum are literally a 2-5 minute walk from hotel's front door and Okonimiyaki Mura is about a 10-15 minute walk down Hiroshima Hondori Shopping Street. This is highly recommended, as okonimiyaki is Hiroshima's specialty dish and the serving sizes are massive! There is also an excellent second hand luxury goods store (Louis Vuitton, etc.) right next door to Okonomiyaki Mura called Foresight that we also highly recommend as their goods and prices were much better than we saw in Tokyo later in our trip.||The hotel laid out our futons to sleep while we were at dinner and we enjoyed heading up to the public bath to shower and then enjoy their large and very clean ofuro style bath.||Returning to our room once settled into our futons we had a great nights' sleep and felt very refreshed in the morning. We had a set breakfast with a great selection of different and delicious Japanese foods, including a little hot pan for us to cook some strips of beef and an egg on.||Couldn't fault this hotel and will absolutely stay again on my next visit to beautiful Hiroshima!
