We toured Hiroshima all day, starting with the museum, then a guided tour of the grounds, a boat tour on the river and finished up here at the tower. Thus tower is decently tall and has a great view of the dome monument. Admission was a little pricey. We rode the elevator to the top and we were surprised that it is open air! A little bit of rain was coming in with the wind. They have a little cafe up there, and having a drink and a snack on a nicer weather day up there would be great. There are stairs but there is also a ramp so it's def wheelchair friendly.
You can pay ¥100 to make an origami crane of your choice and drop it from the tower as a prayer or wish to those who suffered in Hiroshima. You can pay when you enter or pay on the top floor when you get up there.
There is a slide that allows you to slide down to each different level. I had to sign a waiver but it is free. The slide would be great if you had socks and no shoes, as well as pants, not shorts. Otherwise, you will constantly get stuck.
Each level has a different mural painted on the wall as you take the ramp down. There is also an elevator as needed but walking was fine for us. There are stairs but you can avoid those if needed as well.
There's a little history if you go around and read all the photo captions of the history of the dome and the area.
There is not something to visit on each floor. Basically it's floor 13 and 12, and then the main level with gift shop. Restrooms are in the basement level.
The gift shop was really nice; they have a lot of unique items including stuff to celebrate the orizuru tower. There is also a little restaurant there, right outside.
It was a great visit, I would recommend coming here. Choose a nice day if you can, so you can see further when you're at the top.
