You have to watch a kagura show. It was definitely the highlight of my stay here in Hiroshima. Karagura means that in a time a long people started to make offers to the goods and hold festivals that are called kagura. The actors will sing and dance in a very incredible manner with gigantic costumes. Something you won't see anywhere else. Also note that before the show starts they will already play some music and dance Infront of the theater at around six pm. Entry is only 1500 yen . On klook 10€ . Buy your ticket now ! 😁🤗

This was one of the highlights of our trip to Hiroshima and we lucked out being here on a Wednesday evening for the Kagura performance! English subtitles were utilized which was helpful for us to follow the storyline and the music and performers were spectacular! Highly recommend!

We had an excellent experience discovering Japanese Kagura theater here. They had a good introduction, playbill and supertitles in English, and after the play everyone was invited to try on a robe or mask for photos. We highly recommend it!

As always in Japan, the hospitality and staff are impeccable. However, my disappointment stems from booking online, which placed me in row 4, too close to the stage. At this distance, I had to constantly tilt my head upward to follow the performance, which quickly became uncomfortable. It is only from row 7 onwards that one can fully appreciate the show with a more comfortable.

Five star absolutely deserved! The performers did an amazing job and clearly work so hard. The puppetry was insane. Highly recommended for your Japan itinerary. A wonderful evening and only 1 hour so can be fitted into most plans.

Just go if you can secure tickets for the weekly Kagura performance and prepare to be amazed. Tickets are available at the door. There are only 20 Backstage Passes available for each performance, so prebooking recommended and highly recommended if you would like to meet the performers. There is an English translation screen above the stage, and a handout that explains the play being shown.
