The Albany Covered Bridge is a picturesque highlight of the Kancamagus Highway. Built in 1858 in the classic Paddleford truss style—with added arches—this 120‑foot span gracefully crosses the Swift River. Its weathered timber, steel-reinforced floor, granite abutments, and interpretive panels lend both charm and insight. The well-maintained parking area, restroom, and walking paths make it accessible for photos, fishing, or simply soaking in the White Mountains skyline. A must-see blend of history and natural beauty.

Such a beautiful place. Make sure to drive over the bridge and do the loop.

Stunning views of the Swift River in the mountains (especially during foliage) and great photo ops of an historic covered bridge.

Nice historical bride. You can drive your passenger car to other side , there is vehicle weight limit up to 3 tons or so, parking available on both ends of bridge. Passing through bride takes you to boulder trail parking. Make sure you have your recreation pass or day pass on your dash. You can buy one at parking lot machine $5 day pass. can use at all other scenic spots on the kancamagus highway

I love a covered bridge and this one did not disappoint. We pretty much had the whole Kanc to ourselves yesterday so definitely enjoyed the stop with no other humans. We were happy to see little graffiti on the bridge and appears to be maintained well. We played around along the edge of the river looking at ice forming and bugs in the water. Beautiful views and definitely worth a quick stop!

Great covered bridge that is easy to access. It's right off the highway and parking is near by. Beautiful location as well.

The Albany Covered Bridge was first constructed in 1858. Repairs and restorations over the years have kept the bridge in the usable condition. The site has a large parking lot that will accommodate buses and restrooms are available. There are several interpretive panels on both sides of the bridge and a granite fishing pier on the north side. It was a foggy day when we were there on our motorcycles, but people were swimming and fishing - looked lovely. Nice to walk around and explore.

A pleasant surprise and still accessible even in the winter ❄️🥶. The bridge is closed to vehicle traffic in the winter but you can walk across it and access the trails, especially if you want to go cross country skiing. Observing the moving and frozen Swift River with its photographic views actually made me wish I had more time to explore the area even though it was 14° and it would occasionally snow 🌨️. There is a "bathroom" available and the parking 🅿️ lot was plowed with plenty of parking spaces. People were having fun and two men were 🫸 pushing each other into the snow ❄️! There is a fishing 🎣 pier nearby but it is drydocked in the winter. You will have to pay for parking 🅿️ when the area reopens. It is $5 per vehicle 🚜 and you can use a NH State gift card for payment as well. Part of my "bucket 🪣 list" is to visit as many covered bridges as possible. If it is part of your list, I recommend a visit!
