This is tough. I wanted to love my stay and many things were great! Let's start there. Bed was comfy as could be and zero signs of bed bugs! I even got upgraded to a king size by the kind lady at the front desk. Loved it! Room was spacious. It had a desk, office chair, comfortable sitting chair, dresser, 2 nightstands, decent sized TV, microwave, refrigerator, a big closet, everything you expect to find in a room, dispensers full of soap, lotion, body wash, shampoo, and the bathroom was a great size with a jetted tub. Should have been amazing! Unfortunately, it's all very run down. Very old, very dirty, broken furnishings, etc. The tub was plugged and full of standing water from the constant dripping of the faucet (decided against using the jetted tub), the toilet handle was so broken it was hanging off, the shelving in the bathroom was broken in half, the room was missing the smoke detector and left exposed wiring, and the carpet had wet spots. The hotel is also in a less than desirable neighborhood. My problem for not checking first! There was also NO seal around the door so all the heat, cigarette smoke, and noise were also present inside. Super disappointed when there is SO much potential here. Would not return for another stay.

We travel to Yuma so often for my husbands work and have stayed at so many of the hotels but none were as good as this one. The pictures on the website always made me think it was old and run down but it’s actually not at all.||||It’s not the ‘fanciest’ or anything like that, but it has everything you need, the rooms are big, the beds are really comfy and the air conditioning works really well.||||They have rooms with whole kitchens so you can cook proper meals while you stay there.||||We did have a few issues over the course of the years but they’ve always been handled really well by the staff there. ||||We always stay here now every time we are in Yuma. I highly recommend it.

Google
An iconic historical motel it’s like a bed sleeping over in a bed-and-breakfast versus a modern day chain hotel. Each room had like two rooms with a shared bathroom, spacious and clean. The breakfast was a nice touch to start your day.

So much of this place was just so wrong, but somehow we absolutely loved it. We specifically booked this hotel because we rented an electric car in Phoenix & believed this hotel to have a charging station. It does not. Similarly, I try to choose hotels that have pools, but this one does not. VERY FRUSTRATING, as both the 3rd-party booking site we used AND the hotel's own published information show both of these amenities. The hotel is very dated, & the need for cosmetic repairs & updates were apparent almost everywhere one looked. Also, the thin walls & the proximity to such a busy street meant an excess of ambient noise. Breakfast consisted of bagels, bread, prepackaged muffins, instant oatmeal, cold cereal, & yogurt; orange juice was available some mornings, but not all.||But, there was so much good here, we decided to overlook the other things, & I'm really glad we did. The lovely human at the front desk sensed my frustration about the lack of a charging station, & upgraded us to a kitchenette room. We didn't really want or need a kitchen, but since we were there for 6 nights, we really grew to appreciate having a big refrigerator & a kitchen fully stocked with utensils & appliances. I used the toaster & the microwave every single day, & it was nice to have real coffee cups instead of the paper/styrofoam ones that are typical of hotels. The room & the grounds were clean. Some of the other guests weren't particularly tidy, but all messes were gone by the next morning. The room itself was super-clean, even with its dated carpet & older furniture. Our room itself had two easy chairs and a desk, so we could spread out & feel comfortable. The shower was heavenly (great water pressure!) & they use refillable dispensers for body wash & shampoo. Most of the ambient noise could be cancelled out by running the fan on our in-room AC unit. the outside seating area was an extra bonus & we spent most evenings right outside our room door. We even met the new owners (or maybe only managers?) tending to the bougainvillea one evening. The location is great, with a grocery store & a couple of restaurants within a stone's throw. The bars & restaurants of the historic Main Street/downtown area is about a mile away. The Colorado River State Historic Park (Yuma Crossing Discovery Center) & access it I-8 are only about half mile away. We had a different housekeeper every day, & they were all just lovely. We requested not to have housekeeping service every day, but every morning they checked on our supply of clean towels & coffee, & emptied our trash cans. ||So, yes, this is definitely an older hotel, deep in the "budget" category, & yes, I was pissed that the advertised pool & charging station were not available, but our overall experience here was fabulous & the price was well worth the value we received.

Buyer beware! Location is in a high crime area. Prostitutes and tweekers hand around outside the rooms. Hotel has no amenities. It advertises a pool which is drained and has trash in it. It advertises a laundry room that is disgusting and all machines are broken. It advertises a fitness room that is closed. This is possibly the worst option in Yuma. If circumstances arise that you have to stay there then only pay one night at a time. This hotel will NOT honor refunds even in accordance with their own cancellation policy. Customer service is based out of India and will give you much run around. Front desk workers will tell you a refund is being processed and lead you on with false information just to get you out the door.

Google
Positive: Very good room price for this historic motel. It's been at this location forever. A combination of good price & decent place but not fancy. Negative: Walls are thin so a little noisy. Needs some remodeling which the new owners are doing.

Bret

Google
Positive: Location was good. Negative: The hotel room was dirty. The shower drain was plugged so I contacted the front desk & they chose to assign me a different room, when I returned to the hotel they had assigned someone else my new room. They then assigned another room. It was also dirty.

False advertisement! Buyer beware! This hotel has no amenities. It advertises a pool, it is drained and is being used for household trash. It advertises a laundry room, it is disgusting and all machines are broken. It advertises a fitness room, it is closed because they rent the connecting room as an office for a construction company. It is in a high crime area. If staying here, make sure to look out the wondow before you leave your room. Drug addicts and prostitutes frequent the hotel. If you do stay here, pay day by day. This hotel does not honor its refund policy. The company who own the hotel is based outside of the U.S. and will NOT give a refund. Watch your receipt as well, they WILL over charge you. The front desk workers will not be helpful, they will lead you on with false information just to get you to walk away. DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!!!

Yelp
We had a delightful stay here in Feb 2024, so we booked again when we returned to the area Feb 2025. To our dismay, the motel changed hands from one year to the next, and the quality has gone way downhill to the point that I would not stay there again. To begin with, we booked online direct with OYO and didn't get any sort of confirmation, and when we tried to call, the published phone number didn't work. We called OYO corporate and they didn't have another phone number for the property. We finally obtained a local number by posting on the Yuma subreddit. On a positive note, the desk clerk was friendly and helpful once we finally got ahold of her. Check-in went smoothly - again, the clerk was welcoming and competent. However, the rest of the motel didn't live up to the staff. Of the 3 rooms we booked, one had a broken toilet while the other had a hall door that didn't close and lock properly. The grounds were dirty and smelly - the entryway outside our room smelled of cat litter (there was a discarded litterbox in the overflowing garbage nearby during our entire stay) and human waste. The parking lot was noisy with people coming and going throughout the night, as well as arguing. The motel no longer has an arrangement with the nearby restaurant for a hot breakfast, so the free breakfast was just continental style in the lobby. (That's not uncommon - it's just a downgrade from the way it used to be.) The place was overall very sketchy and I was so embarrassed to have recommended it to our friends. We will definitely not return unless it changes hands again and goes through a major overhaul. It's really a shame, and a waste of a great location, so close to historic downtown Yuma.

Yelp
Wow. Shocked that there are any good reviews for this place. The photos are super old, the place is WAY more run down than it looks in any of the pictures. Parked I immediately knew I had made a mistake booking it a day in advance of my stay. I booked a single King bed and only the 2 bed queen rooms were available upon arrival. Oh well. Walked into the room and took a look... light switch didn't work, beds looked okay, but clearly very dated upholstery. The worst-toilet looked like something was floating in it... who knows what it was! Tried flushing it down and it was clogged. Turned around and requested a refund, which requires calling customer service. Not very easy to get a refund either. This is worth maybe $39 a night at best and all rooms are $80 or more from what I saw. I wouldn't be surprised if there were bed bugs. Thank goodness I didn't stay to find out.

Yelp
It was just not a nice place to stay. The toilet ran all night. Told front desk the next morning but they didn't get someone out to fix it until 10:30 that night! I was already in bed and they scared me to death banging on my door! The free breakfast left a lot to be desired! The bed was comfortable and shower was fine. The outside was a kind of dirty with lots of smokers around. Didn't really feel safe there.

Yelp
I get that this is an older motel so expectations were low I've stayed in older motels before but have never experienced what I can describe as if you want to get murdered stay here. The door looked like it had been kicked in a few times, window had no working lock, room was right next to a sketchy ally type thing. Trash all over room not clean and OJ style gloves left by previous guest or the persons that was going to come through the window and murder me while I slept. Left right after checking in I've never in my life left a hotel.

Yelp
Was pleasantly surprised. Room was clean, bed was comfortable. Room was a bit outdated but for the price I could not ask for more. Plenty of good places to eat near by. Nice stopover for the trip to San Diego. Will definitely stay again!

Patrick M.

Yelp
Pool is dirty. Rooms are dirty. Floors are filthy. Have stayed there for twenty years. No upgrades and you no longer can call the front desk.

Yelp
The only reason I give this 4 stars is the historic aspect and I love the bar. The Yuma Landing was historic for the first inter-continental flight to land in this location. The walls are plastered with historic pictures of Yuma's early days and it's impact on the aeronautical industry. The rooms are old but historic. They are quite awesome and take you back in time. Our room had a kitchenette and two queen beds. It was super comfortable for the three of us! This stay comes with a full breakfast for everyone involved. Not the free breakfast at the Inn with Rubber Eggs and hard bagels, this is a meal made by the kitchen and sent out (The real deal). There are multiple pools and jacuzzis property. There is a nearby park and Main Street Yuma is a short walk away(10 minutes) . They have movie theaters, great dining, brewery's, shopping and even a casino. Access is super easy on and off of the freeway. Your (looks like every city) shopping is about 3 miles away off of 16th Street. The hotel is well run and maintained. We all had a blast here and took advantage of the live entertainment in the bar. Our bartender was a riot and we had a fantastic time! If your passing through, don't stay at your BW or Hilton Gardens, take in a piece of history. #vino2 #vinosquared #vino2ultimate #irishcatv2 #jimsboisset

Yelp
The room itself looked like it had recently been refurbished. Looked clean, tidy, bed was comfortable. Walls a little thin, heard people above us at 1am. We thought we were receiving an okay price because it included breakfast only to find out only if you ate inside. My husband is high risk for covid and they would not allow us to take it to go. In this day and time this was ridiculous. Would we book this motel in future....NO Way! Was not worth the price because lack of breakfast.

Yelp
We arrived in Yuma without having booked anywhere and the Coronado looked to have a good deal compared to some of the other hotels - wasn't looking to pay close to $200 for a single night of a stopover. On arrival we were greeted by Nancy who was really lovely and welcoming, told us breakfast was included in our room and then told us the same place next door had a bar and a band playing that night. Yes the rooms are dated but it's comfortable enough and clean for the age. Air con worked just fine. There's 2 pools across the 3 part complex and apparently a fitness room - we didn't get the chance to utilize this. We didn't hear much noise at all from the street, maybe it was drowned out from the air con running. The breakfast was a choice of a few standard options - perfect way to fuel up before a drive back to LA. All in all it's great for a cheaper stay in the area, staff are friendly and the free breakfast is great. Would recommend

Yelp
Let me start by saying that it wasn't a bed bug. Not even close. That morning I'd packed my ditch bag after 13 months at home, waited to catch my old lady podcasting with another man and used that as a reason to hit the road with no clear destination in sight. I just knew that I was gonna keep on driving until I ran out of Dollar Tree burner socks. I have that kinda wealth. 3 pair of socks for a buck and just leave em where they lay when they start to stink. Yuma wasn't where I'd intended to lay my head that first night but I had too late a start to make it to Palm Springs. Yuma, from a decades-old memory was as ugly as an elderly woman eating her grown young due to poverty. The wonderful woman at the front desk saw my last name and asked if I was related to the Yuma family also named Stanhope. I'd never met anyone else with my own last name and assumed this was some 23&Me conspiracy blowing up in my face. I told her that my name was simply a nom de plume and left before she could google the phrase. The motor lodge is everything I had described as my favorite road lodging. Back your car up to the door of the mote, chuck your bags in the room and hit the bar next door. The neighboring bar/grill - Yuma Landing - was the first bar I'd been inside of since the outbreak Shamu Flu ( I prefer to blame Sea World for everything in place of other people's prejudiced and racist labels.) The bar was as perfect as the Coronado Motor Lodge. Social-distanced only in that 8 people were inside a joint that could hold 180 at least. Neighborhood dive with locals who, like the social media I'd suffered thru for the last year, bloviated about their uninformed opinions about anything in the news that didn't really affect their own lives while somehow tying them into to conversations about who sung what karaoke song they'd sung or trivia answer they'd gotten wrong on a previous night's entertainment there. I had four vodka/sodas and some street tacos nearly authentic enough that some of the patrons may have wanted to separate them from their parents and put them in border cages. At that point I felt an urge to join in the muttered conversations of the locals with my own stupid opinions so I knew it was time to leave. I overtipped - not the grandiose kind of gartuity that would get Amy Schumer or Donnie Wahlberg trending on Twitter but enough to buy the bartenders kids a couple Happy Meals - and I stumbled back to my room at the Coronado. As I peeled off my disposable ankle socks and peeled back the impeccable bedding, I saw a tiny black spot run like an Olympic trial under and around a pillow. I thought it might be - for the first time in 30 years of hotel/motel traveling life - my first bed bug sighting. I panicked, took a picture and sent it out on social media to ask if it were indeed a dreaded bed bug. I was too drunk to change rooms so I trusted my fine followers as the notable etymologists that I'm sure lay inately within them all. And they came thru. Blowing up the picture, they could see that it had eight legs and therefore was merely a tiny spider. A tiny BABY spider. Probably separated from it's mother, scared and alone. And by that time I had already smushed it. Snuffed out it's life before it even had a chance to grow up and be bitey. I drowned my guilt in one more drink made from my own supply and by the time I woke up at 6am for the complimentary bacon and eggs, I'd already forgotten the Bambi of the arachnid world. But I will always remember the Coronado and how it changed my old misconceived notion that Yuma was a terrible place. It only takes one perfect motel next to a perfect lounge to make you change your mind about an entire community. I still stole the extra roll of toilet paper. Blame Covid paranoia that has been instilled in me and may never leave.

Yelp
A little wonderful piece of History in, you got it, downtown Yuma! Who knew?! The placid clean, plenty of room for big horse rigs and motor homes if you have them. Check the Yuma Landing out for Karaoke night and a damn good hamburger cooked to perfection. The bartender is in disguise, he's really a singer, or at least in my opinion, should be! The motel has rooms across the street, are pet friendly, and the beds are comfy and price is right! Whenever you find yourself in Yuma scrambling for a place to stay and your unfamiliar with the area, step out of your comfort zone of chain hotels and visit this historic joint! I can't tell you the history, that would be considered a "spoiler alert"!

Yelp
The stay at the hotel was okay. My husband and I were driving back from San Diego and needed a place to stay for the night. We found this place and decided to stay. We checked in and got ready for bed. As soon as we got in bed, we noticed that there was no fitted sheet around the mattress. This caused the mattress to be exposed multiple times during thee night. It was disgusting! When we checked out I let the front desk know and she didn't offer any type of compensation for the unpleasant stay. I am leaving 2 stars instead of 1 as the breakfast was great.
google avatar

Trish L.

Yelp
The inside is surprisingly bright and clean compared to what it looks like on the outside. Inside a single queen room is a couch, fridge, and microwave. The couch is firm, as is the bed but for a night, it's fine. We got a great deal for $65 which is quite a bit cheaper than the chain hotels. This was the reason that I booked this hotel. If I'm in Yuma again, I would definitely stay here. It's a good stopping point on the way to San Diego. The staff always makes a big impact on the total impression. The guy at the front desk was friendly and efficient. Thank you!

Yelp
I woke up to beg bug bites and bathroom filled with huge cockroaches. Room smelled like smoke and trash all over exterior. I have stayed in super cheap motels before that felt much cleaner and safer than this. AVOID. I have no clue how they have good reviews on the other sites.

Yelp
We were so disappointed in our stay here!! We've stayed in several "motor inns" and have enjoyed the vintage feel. This was not only vintage furnishings but vintage filth! It is so scuzzy! The lighting in the room is low for a reason. When we opened the curtains we saw the carpet, light switches, door frames and handles were gross. The tub appeared to have mold around the facet. And when I went to take a shower the facet control didn't work so I could get no hot water! My husband had a screw driver in our car so he tightened it so that he did have hot water. The towels and wash clothes were old, thin and gray (supposed to be white). My cleaning rags look better than their was clothes. Bottom line, the owners of this facility have NOT put a dime back into this and certainly cleanliness is not a priority! DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!

Yelp
Bedroom and bathroom full of dead and half dead reaches. But my brother-in-law stayed in the room next door for 4 daysand saw no roaches Make sure you ask for his room!

Yelp
I've stayed in a few places in Yuma to get dental work. This place was bit better than most, though certainly not as great as a major chain. A week here of alternating the two free hot breakfasts in the attached yuma landing restaurant got me hankering for something different. A you still have to tip the waitress (please for god sakes tip them). The only trouble I had was the maids who 1) wouldn't let you stay in the room while you cleaned; 2) seemed to think it was policy to not change sheets after I requested they be changed and tried to argue with me about it. The rooms are old, but everything functions including WiFi. It's near the 8, so getting to Los Algodones isn't that major of a drive through town. There is a grocery store nearby and a food fast food spots (other than the Yuma Landing restaurant which was okay). It's right on the U through town. Not far from the prison and really close to the Quartermaster. Oh the casino seems to be nearby down some dusty road. There was supposedly a hot tub, but not on the side I stayed on.

Yelp
Super surprised! Came here for an overnight to visit family. Didn't want to spend a lot but didn't want a bad stay either. Decided to stay here. It's an older place that has buildings on both sides of the street. Seemed odd but looked cute and clean on the outside. Check in office also has a pretty big gift shop. Nancy checked us in and was fast and polite. We drove around the corner to get to our room. When I walked in, I was surprised to see the room and beds, including towel swans, was as it appeared. Most pictures of places are propped or the best room they have. The room appeared clean but I'm one of those that checks thinks out before settling in. Everything was clean. I always check for pests, mouse droppings, bed bugs, roaches, etc. nothing. Bathroom clean. Fridge and microwave worked. The beds... so comfortable and both of us are bed snobs. We slept so well. I called and asked for a noon check out and Micheal was happy to accommodate us. The stay included breakfast at the Yuma Landing, about a block down. The options are simple breakfast choices. I'm writing this while waiting for our food and will write a separate review but the place is very cool with historic Yuma decor. Staff have been great. The only issue with the hotel was the internet would not connect to my iPhone but I didn't call for assistance or try connecting my laptop and the room was warm with the ac not being on. But it cooled down fairly quick. Over all, I would definitely recommend this motel and will stay again when back here.

Yelp
Some of the worst staff members that I've ever dealt with. Was told several times that the manager was going to call due to some odd charges that I received after our stay. They staff member on the phone said "we can charge as much and whatever want we want". Charged us $250.00 for a small stain that on the sheets, that was already there before we stayed. Avoid this place like the plague! Pay a little more elsewhere to stay, because if you stay here, you're going to accrue random charges after you leave.

Yelp
We usually stay at the Radisson in Yuma, but decided to stay here since it was half the price. Yes, the Radisson would've been nicer, but for what we needed, this was just fine. The bed was comfy, the staff was very friendly and it was less than 5 minutes to the river or restaurants downtown. The made to order breakfast here was better than the buffet at the Radisson. Our friends mentioned their room smelled a bit of stale smoke, but our room was fine. (We were in the building to the right of the office.) I would definitely stay here again.

Yelp
I thought I would try this hotel because I like historical hotels.... But this is just your typical run down old motel. TV didn't work.

Yelp
Just passing through, as I imagine many folks are along I8 in Yuma, AZ. We needed a step up from the mediocre, sometimes questionable chain motels but didn't want to spend much either. The Coronado's website showed promise of a charming if no/few frills overnight stay so we booked a couple rooms. Pleasantly our expectations were exceeded at every corner. Rooms, food, service, we were on our way the next day with a sense of adventure and good spirit I don't think would have been possible after staying at a chain motel. Nancy (I believe that was her name) at the desk was warm, humorous and friendly, not because of some service class in customer service had taught her to be, because she was just a nice, friendly and real person. It was nice to have her at the 'end of the trail', after a day's drive. For diner she suggested the Motor Hotel's own restaurant at the end of the complex, as I'm sure she is supposed to, but it was with the sense that she knew without a doubt it was an option we would enjoy. She was right as rain about the restaurant. It was busy and the food understandably took a bit, but the atmosphere was a homey and pleasant one to wait in, looking at the endless displays of aviation, railroad and old Yuma history. We would have gladly returned for breakfast the next morning even if it was not complimentary to motel guests if just to continue enjoying the 'museum', but I'm getting ahead of myself. The food for dinner was better than fine and everyone was well satisfied with their food and drink. Personally, I was hoping for a better quality of Tex-Mex so close to the border, but considering the clientele seated around us, mostly white folks in their retired years, the milder seasoning is understandable. We were less than happy to have to watch Fox news on all the monitors, but again, considering the demographics... The rooms were spacious, and clean with a full sized couch and coffee table along side the Queen-sized bed with towels on top nicely folded into kissing swans--I kid you not. the bed had extremely comfortable and sleepable mattresses and pillows. My wife is a stickler for cleanliness and checks hotel rooms quite thoroughly, under mattresses, in corners, a real white glove inspector. Some minor infractions might escape my attention or concern, but a passing grade from her is not so easy to earn and she passed the room with a thumbs-up and a smile. The complimentary breakfast was, without a doubt, the best I'd ever had. Forget waiting for a waffle machine, cereal in tiny bowls or dry eggs (if you're lucky) in the corner of a lobby. Simply giving our check-in names at the door granted each of us a real meal at a real restaurant. There were a handful of choices of which we all choose the more hearty: your standard eggs to order, choice of meat and carb plate complimented by an ever-full cup of coffee. The perfect to start the day and a trip across the desert.

Yelp
Not sure what is historic here maybe the batteries in the remotes. Anyway no volume on a really poor cable package. Shower water never got hot and thankfully I drank so the street noise was drowned out. Didn't try breakfast. Couldn't get past mi rancho across the street. Dynamite chorizo and eggs.
google avatar

Ashley S.

Yelp
The room is nice, clean, no bed bugs. No roaches as I've seen in other reviews. Let's be honest, this is the desert and there are roaches. Not that I like or welcome them but, it is a thing. There is this chihuahua across the lot that is UNRELENTING. Not the motel's fault but, good God! Other than that, it was a nice place to stay at this time of year. I guess the summer time might have the roaches. Not right now though.

Yelp
1st time here on business after my usual hotel had no vacancy. Quaint and historic, with single level rooms. On the edge of town, right off of I-8, on a very busy road. Although farther from my work, the pluses out way the minuses. A terrific bicycling trail is accessed right down the street. A free breakfast at a REAL restaurant, just next door. Room was very clean too, with 6 pillows. I took off 1 star due to the fact that the DirectTV programming was very limited, and the hard wired ethernet connection did not work. But hey, guess what, this place beats my usual hotel hands down. I`ll be back!

Yelp
Just want to take a moment to say "thank you" to Nancy. She was great!! She was efficient, courteous and very helpful. She knows her stuff about the area, and she went out of her way to call me and ask about my dinner. Keep up the great work. You are appreciated.

Yelp
I had a very bad experience staying here. The night we checked in they were pretty busy because there was an event going on. I added one more breakfast when we checked in for extra $10. After that, we went to the room. The room looked nice except there were big stains on the green blanket after we remove their signature swan towels . Also, we decided to cancel the extra breakfast after discussion. So we went to the front desk and told the guy at the front desk that I wanted to cancel the extra breakfast. He didn't have smile which I understood coz they probably had a long day. But after he checked the computer and said I couldn't do that coz you booked through Expedia . I said no, I added it during the check in. And he didn't apologize then being silent with pissing face dealing with my bill. After that, he was going to leave the counter. Then I said, excuse me, there's a problem with the room. He responded, you have to come back tomorrow morning coz I'm not maintenance then he was ready to turn away and left again . I said we don't need maintenance I only need a clean blanket coz there big stains on the blanket. Then my husband couldn't tolerate his rudeness and said, you work in the customer service, you don't have to be so rude. Then that guy said what did I do? My husband said we have driven fxcking 10 hours here and we are really tired. All we need is a clean blanket. You really don't have to be like this. Then the guy thought he cursed at him and said he could kick us out if he wanted to. Then the whole thing lost control. Yes he went to the back and gave us some clean blanket and bed sheet, but he said watch out I might have done sth to the blanket then gave us a sexual gesture. We were really pissed and told him we would come back next day and talked to his manager. He said and what? What is she gonna do? I couldn't believe what I heard and saw. This guy was so rude and I have never been treated like this. So the next day, we came back and talked to the owner, and the whole thing became even more ridiculous. I understand that the owner was trying to protect their employees , but I don't think the way she dealt with the whole situation very well.My husband told her what happened the night before, and I had no idea why she focused on the cancel of the extra breakfast ( btw the cancel of extra breakfast never went through )coz that wasn't the point, which made me feel that she tried to find a point to blame on us. Then we told her the guy's attitude was really bad and unbelievable, she said that guy told her that we called him Mexican which suggested we were racist . We couldn't believe what we just heard. We didn't say anything about Mexican ! I wasn't really mad until then. I told her, we didn't say that. If he thought that way, can I say that he is a racist because I am an Asian ? She saw me pissed so she said okay , so how do you want me to solve this problem? Do you want discount? I was even more pissed! I said, no, we talked to you to let you know the situation coz this happened to your hotel . That's the main reason why we are here. Discount is the last thing we think of. Then end of the discussion we left the office . She told us she was in the hotel business for 40 years and this never happened. I told here I never had any experiences like this as well. This is the first time I feel so humiliated. After we left the hotel, we went back to the room and saw the beds were made but the dirty blanket was still on one of the bed. So I called and asked them if it was possible to change it. They said they were sending a person over here right away. The lady came in and said she was the supervisor of the cleanness of the rooms and she apologized for that coz it was a long day yesterday and they were short of people. The owner called her and blamed her for the dirty blanket. I told her that it want our intention to get her into trouble . We feel really sorry and respect what she does. I know it's a sensitive time of racism right now, but I don't think this is how you blame someone being racist. I don't think I will ever return to this hotel again with such bad experience .

Yelp
Came through to go to the Boogie Brews and Blues festival last weekend. Booked through Priceline. Check in was easy enough. Wifi was easy to set up. We were greeted by a granddaddy cockroach and one of his smaller cronies, one in the back room, one in the bathroom. Couldn't switch rooms because according to the front desk, the whole place was booked out for the night. I felt like that whole room could have used a good power washing. The chair next to the bed was pretty gross. Sheets looked a bit dingy but minimally acceptable. Pillows were a bit soft for my taste but also acceptable. Woke up without back pain, so that's good. Breakfast was insanely packed with people, my friend and I sat at the bar to circumvent standing in that line. There was one person serving drinks and food, she was in dire need of help, the poor thing. Food was ok, kind of a pre fixe deal with several options to choose from... server got our egg orders mixed up but all we had to do was switch plates with each other so no harm no foul. Overall, staff tried hard to please but the place was just not very clean. I won't be back.

Yelp
Wow within 5 minutes of being here I already found two giant cockroaches. So disgusting.

Yelp
This place is truly a hidden gem. So clean and well kept, plus the history of it is awesome. Right next to the Yuma landing which is amazing. All single story little suites, absolutely beautiful and so low priced.

Yelp
Loved our stay here. Pillow top mattresses were so comfy! Updated bathroom. Great location. The complimentary breakfast was just like Denny's and the service was wonderful.

Yelp
The Coronado is a wonderful gem in Yuma that should definitely be considered as an alternative to the average, run-of-the-mill Corporate fare typically chosen along the freeway. Our room had two VERY comfortable queen beds, a nice little kitchen area and a clean, modern bathroom. This older hotel is has atmosphere and charm, all the while offering modern amenities. Good-sized flat screen tv, AC that worked perfectly and was not overbearingly loud like you might expect in some other older establishments. The pool area includes a hot tub, though we didn't partake this time. Complimentary breakfast is included at the Yuma Landing Bar & Grill just a short walk down the street and is to be appreciated. Take in the historic photos and memorabilia on display. I will definitely be staying here again. Venture into town a bit, take a chance and discover some of the true character of Yuma. There's much more than meets the eye from just your average quick jaunt of the freeway to McD's. #yuma #arizona #hostoriccoronadomotorhotel #hotel #hiddengem #vino2 #vino2ultimate #vinosquared #phillythekidvino2

Yelp
I probably would have never booked here but end up with this hotel thought hotwire. I was not expecting much to be honest. The hotel is outdated but I don't really about that. I was here for business. The room was clean, comfortable and felt safe. The staff was friendly. They do have pet room just wish they would have grass or fake turf to walk the dogs. I would have no issue staying here again especially for the price i paid. It was a great deal.

Yelp
This is NOT a three star hotel. Staff were polite and personal service was good. Property is VERY run down. Towels were old and stained, AC bare colder the room (which in Yuma AZ is a big deal. Road noise, sirens, etc, was very loud. No covered parking and no security in a sketchy area.

Yelp
Many pros! This is a wonderful hotel, especially for the price. The breakfast at the restaurant down the street is filling and delicious, and included. The rooms are clean and the bathroom is updated and very nice. It even has a cute little kitchenette. Here's my favorite: flat screen TV with an easy to use remote! So many hotels have crazy complex remotes, and this is the simplest one I've seen. Here's the cons: They do charge a $10 per pet pet fee, which I wasn't keen on. Also, the pool is just dirty enough I don't wanna get in. Lastly, not the highest quality bedding. It looks nice. And it's clean, but you can tell it is low thread count, so it took some getting used to. If the pool was clean and the sheets were smoother/softer, I'd have given it 5 stars.

Yelp
I've been a long term stay here at the Historic Coronado Motor Hotel! Great place! Great people! Owner Mrs. Peach is a hands on owner very generous! Thank you everyone for making my stay a pleasure!

Yelp
This is an older place that has been updated with nice beds and amenities. The rooms are a bit small. The bathroom was nicely tiled with new faucets and shower head. My only complaint was that our non-smoking room smelled like smoke and the air conditioned rattled every time it cycled back on. The restaurant is a real greasy spoon. I bailed and went to the little Mexican place across the street which was awesome. If I remember the name, I'll post it.

Yelp
The Coronado looked good on Yelp, even though we try to avoid motels in the old parts of towns, thought we'd try it- big mistake - it's an old worn out place, as someone else posted, tv didn't work well, one nightstand lamp was out, the other had a tattered shade (see photo) and there were no outlets for charging except on the desk table. Pros- the staff was friendly and the breakfast included was good. We won't be returning tho.

Yelp
Clean rooms, friendly staff and nice amenities. Although this hotel will never be mistaken for a 5 star resort, the charm and attention to detail make it worth price. Very rare you will find a hotel retaining it's characteristic roots while keeping service up to quality standards. If you are in need of a place to stay in Yuma for an affordable rate then The Coronado is your place. Small touches make it unique and an enjoyable stay.

Yelp
I wanted to make sure that the world knew how great Vicky staff at the historic Coronado Motor hotel is.

Yelp
Nice place. Large property. Our room was in building across street. Professional, courteous staff. Clean. Good price and included breakfast at adjacent bar/restaurant. Close to the old town area. Nothing fancy but all you expect from a motel.

Yelp
I feel as if Yelp let me down on this one. Stayed here last night based solely on the high Yelp reviews (and proximity to the drinking establishment I was patronizing). It's a motel and for the life of me I cannot figure how they've managed to maintain a 4+ star rating. This is an old worn out motel that somehow manages to fall under Best Western management. This place alone makes me second guess any future stays at BW properties. Cost to value ratio is waaaaaaaay down there. Rooms are bare and show lack of maintenance. Truly this is a $25 room that I paid $80 for. After discount. The only reason I gave this dive 2 stars is due to the fact that they answered the phone at 10 PM and had rooms available. I was in a bind and would not have considered this location otherwise. Steer clear my Yelping brothers and sisters.

Yelp
This is the second time we have stayed at this Historic Hotel. Yes, it is an older Hotel aka Historic. But our room was very clean and the bed very comfortable with extra pillows. The only con was the road noise but it's an older hotel and I have to say the bed was so comfortable I slept like a rock. Inside the room was air conditioning, a large flat screen t.v. a room safe, pool towels, nearby soda, and ice machine, and a very clean bathroom. Our room had an adjoining room with another bed and air conditioning. We stayed in room 144 a nonsmoking room. The price of our room included a "real" breakfast at their restaurant a block away and the food was very good, with outstanding service. No hidden resort fee only taxes and we got a A.A.A. discount. We paid just under 98.00 It was a great price for what we received and it was the beginning of June. I highly recommend staying there with the only warning about the road noise. But this place was built when the road noise wasn't an issue. Definitely a 5-star experience.

Yelp
So I had some business to take care for a couple of days here in Yuma and needed a place to rest my head. So I used the powers of Hotwire to locate me an affordable option. I'm sure most, if not all, of you know that Hotwire doesn't show the actual hotel until after you have prepaid the entire amount. I've stayed in other places in Yuma before so my expectations weren't overly high. The Coronado is a motel in the downtown area of Yuma. The motel itself is quaint and historic. The rooms are clean and the staff are friendly. The rooms come equipped with a small refrigerator and a microwave. Free eggs, breakfast meat, hash browns and toast are included or a cereal/oatmeal option. Free wifi is also included. The only thing I didn't like was that they put me adjacent to the laundry room. Even though there are 130 rooms, most of which are empty, they decided to put me right next to the laundry room where at 7:00 am every morning the housekeeping crew begin their daily chores. And it's not quiet. Good thing I'm an early riser! I'm confident they chose to put me in this room because I used Hotwire. If it wasn't for this, I would have given them 4 stars. Will I stay here again...yes!

Yelp
The room was clean and quiet. The breakfast in a cheerful restaurant next door was filling. The staff was warm and friendly and even went so far as to mail back the pillows I had inadvertently left behind.

Yelp
A cute historic motel. Room was clean and bed was comfortable. Being on a busy road, it was a bit loud all throughout the night. Bathroom was large. Our toilet didn't flush properly unless we held down the handle the entire time. This was a minor inconvenience. The lobby was large and had a fairly decent size gift shop. The rooms sprawled down the road and across the street so it was a bit confusing on which driveway to use when we first pulled in. Not sure I'd stay here again but overall it was satisfactory.

Yelp
Sometimes I read a yelp review and I think it must have been written by a friend of the owner because it seems over-the-top. Just to be clear, I don't know the folks at Coronado Hotel. I stayed for only one night while on business in Yuma. I can't say there was a single negative thing about this place. It was convenient to downtown, very clean and cute, staff friendly, quite affordable, and they went the extra mile. The towels were folded like a pair of swans on my bed, I had a Jacuzzi tub, and a refrigerator and microwave, coffee pot (compostable cups!). The shower was divine (quality earth friendly soaps) the bed was comfortable, the pillows were down...breakfast was included at their neighboring restaurant, where I had a nice hot meal. I will definitely stay here again in the future.

Yelp
For the price, it is very nice. We had 2 rooms, huge beds, lots of pillows, two TV sets, coffee, a refrigerator and a microwave. Everything is spotless and the bathroom looks brand new. The no smoking room is just that. No smell of cigarettes. A market is right across the street and the Yuma Landing restaurant is very interesting(history) besides serving a free full breakfast that is good. It was quiet except for the garbage truck in the am. Ray or Roy (not sure of name) at the front desk was exceptional. It's clear someone cares about this old time motor hotel. We'll be back! .

Yelp
I walked into the room they gave me and the first thing I saw was a huge cockroach crawling across the bed! Turned right around and never went back.
