Where to Drink, Ski, and Shop in St. Moritz, According to the CEO of Moncler

"For those who prefer small but charming, there’s the Historic Hotel Chesa Salis along the valley in Bever. It’s a 16th-century manor house with hand-painted walls, like something from a Swiss storybook."

One of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. The building is absolutely gorgeous!

We loved the atmosphere of this hotel. It was very intimate, charming, and well-appointed. The hosts, Sabylla and Jorg, were amazingly welcoming and were always available when we needed something or had a question. The historic room we stayed in was so cozy and functional that we really didn't even want to go out. The updates to this very old hotel are just the right amount of 'modern', but still have nice nods to the past; tasteful and authentic. The common areas of the hotel are like the inside of a jewel box; there are so many architectural details, curated surprises, great pieces of art and eclectic furniture that wondering around each day brought a new discovery. We enjoyed the breakfasts served in the morning. There were many food options to choose from and everything was delicious and fresh.

This is a little gem I wish I could stay more. The location is beautiful and straight on the cross country Engadina path. The couple owning the place is hands on and very welcoming. Food is good and the atmosphere is relaxing. Rooms are nice but very small and bathrooms would need a refresh.

This hotel is very special. You feel like traveling back in time but in the most positive way. Everything is chosen with great love into detail. The hotel is very clean and the staff was super friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good, too. Fresh eggs and good coffee. Liked it there and can definitely recommend it.

Chesa Salis was simply amazing. The historic house is stunning and has been carefully renovated with a modern twist, including art work throughout the hotel. Our room had everything we needed and felt really cosy with lots of wood and a comfortable. The staff was very welcoming, both breakfast and dinner were nice. 10/10 would stay again.

This is a beautiful historic hotel which has been beautifully preserved, even the more modest attic rooms are an experience. There is a shared living room on the ground floor with a lovely fireplace and a proper little library on the third floor.|The hotel’s on-site restaurant is definitely worth a try. The salmon tartare as a starter came with so many side dishes, it felt like a meal in itself and the steak was cooked pretty perfectly. The breakfast spread is super rich with a cheese selection that will surely delight every cheese lover.|As expected from a historic Swiss hotel, spending time here is not cheap but definitely worth a rare treat.

What a beautiful area of the alps and excellent hotel to spend several days away with my daughter. Bever itself is a very quiet, tradition small village with typical Swiss architecture, with narrow streets to wander through. The hotel staff were so helpful with advise on where to go and what to see. They provided a free pass for the mountain railways and cable cars. You are spoilt for choice for cycle ways and walk tracks. It was easy to get about without a car, the bus and train station both only 10mins walk from the hotel and always ran to time. The evening dining experience at the hotel was excellent with wonderful food, service and ambiance. Breakfast offered a good choice and always well stocked. The hotel's Friday lunch time BBQ in the garden was delicious and attracted outside visitors, creating a lovely atmosphere. There are also several eating out options in Bever, a short walk from the hotel which we enjoyed. The room we had was a good size with very comfortable beds and had lovely views over the gardens and mountains. The garden is nicely laid out with sun chairs and shades if you just wanted to relax in the sun. The hotel is clearly quite self sufficient growing its own herbs and vegetables that are served fresh in the restaurant. We will definitely be back :)
