Great vibes, centrally located an hour each from Zion, Bryce Canyon, and Vermilion Cliffs! Very clean rooms, safe hotel, and the proprietors of the inn are kind, charismatic, and honest. This trip I mainly went to Bryce — Hope to come back to explore Zion & Vermilion, and look forward to staying at the historic smith again!!

This is an older home with the rooms upstairs. You had balconies to sit and enjoy the early morning and evening. Quiet and exceptionally clean. There were games and books to amuse oneself with. Snacks and coffee available. The two ladies who ran the BNB were exceptional in every way you could ask. Very friendly and accommodating. The furnishings were beautiful and the breakfast they provide you won't find anywhere else. The waffles were delicious. Definitely worth the money.

Smith Hotel B&B is the antithesis of the chain hotels. Not luxurious in the usual sense, it is a comfortable home-like atmosphere. Rochelle a/k/a Rocky treated us like long lost family. She and BFF Bunny sat down with cups of coffee to join us while we were having our delicious homemade breakfasts, sharing their area knowledge and life experiences. As we were departing after two nights, there were hugs all around.||Although it's located right on U.S. 89, set back from the road, there is a serenity provided by the trees and flowers. We sat on the porch, entertained by the hummingbirds, nesting swallows, and other birdlife.||The birdlife is special to Rochelle. When a hummingbird crashed into the window while we were chatting at the breakfast table, Rochelle tenderly held the stunned creature until it was able to fly away.||Rochelle is justifiably proud of her late husband's woodworking skills, as he made bedframes, headboards, and tables throughout the building. Other antiques are family heirlooms.||Note that there are no restaurants or stores in walking distance, so you will likely eat and shop in larger towns between Glendale and the national parks.||Wishing Rochelle well as the hotel's 2027 centennial approaches.

My wife and I stayed at Smith's for three nights. It was a great experience. Located strategically between Zion and Bryce Canyon, about an hr away from each. I highly recommend it if you are interested in visiting both or an alternative from pricer accomodations such as Springdale. The hosts were a pleasure to talk to during breakfast. The house and our room were beautifully decorated, and very clean. I would stay again when I return for another go at Zion.

We spent 4 lovely nights at the Smith Historic Hotel in Glenndale, Utah. It was our home base for visiting Antelope Canyon, Zion, and Bryce. The drive to Page is about an hour and 45 minutes. The drive to the east gate of Zion is about 45 minutes and to Bryce is about an hour. The drives may seem far, but the scenery getting there is gorgeous! |The hostess, Rochelle, was amazing. She was thoughtful and accommodating. She served a delicious breakfast 3 or our 4 mornings. The one morning when we chose not to sit down to breakfast she provided us with a grab and go – muffin, yogurt, fruit and juice. She keeps the ground beautiful. There are no resturants in Glenndale, but Knabb is 20 minutes away and they have lots of places to ear.|Our room was comfortable and the bed was cozy. Yes, this is an older hotel and it indeed holds much history. It is an old boarding house. You can feel the history and I liked to imagine the young Mormons who chose to stay here when the hotel was built in the 1920’s. I would definitely stay here again.|

Just returned from vacation. We were visiting the national parks. Chose to stay at the Smith Hotel Bed and Breakfast because of its location between Zion National Park and Bryce Canyon. Owners of extremely nice and knowledgeable about the vicinity. They gave us great recommendations for dining and scenic drives. The breakfast was perfect. Fresh fruit, juice, yogurt and waffles and french toast. The room was nice sized, the bed (Room 2) was huge. The bathroom was adequate. There was also a nice porch area where my husband and I shared a bottle of wine and played dominoes. Definitely, would return.

We spent a night here, based solely on the positive online reviews and recommendations. I've never stayed at a bed and breakfast before, and it was wonderful! Charming old building, very cozy beds, located in a peaceful town, and a great stop between Zion and Bryce. If you can, opt to stay for the breakfast--Rochelle and Mike are so kind and full of interesting stories. And the breakfast was delicious to boot! My mother and I had a great time. I recommend if you are in the area to give them a try!

Random thoughts. Hundred year old hotel with lots of antiques and good quality handmade furniture. Grounds were filled with fruit trees and hummingbirds galore. Hosts Rochelle and Mike were very welcoming and hospitable. Down the hall from our room was a sun porch where we enjoyed our morning coffee before delicious breakfast. Excellent location between Bryce Canyon and Zion NPs. |We were guests for three nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Yelp
The Smith Hotel Bed and Breakfast was built in 1827. It is in part period furnished with some antiques. Buffalo Bistro restaurant is located next door which features some exotic meals of wild game. I am sorry I got there late and missed the experience. The Smith Hotel has two floors and is on Hwy 89 in Glendale, Utah. The hotel is 45 minutes to Zion National Park, 60 miles to Bryce Canyon and 15 miles to Escalante so it is ideally located for those that wish to explore dynamic southwestern Utah. I was staying as part of a road trip of national parks. Having spent the day at Zion, I choose the Smith Hotel in part because it was on my way to Bryce Canyon. Arriving at 7:30 PM, I was greeted by Rochelle and Mike the owners. Rochelle and Mike are very accommodating hosts explaining what was available at the hotel and showing me my room ($79 + tax). This was a budget price when compared to most places in and around Zion or Bryce. The room was on the second floor. A private bath quaintly decorated was just across from my room. The room itself featured a rustic look. The frame was of local wood construction with a western log foot and headboard. It was a full sized bed and I got a good nights sleep. My stay was in May and I did not need the a/c. Breakfast begins at 8 Am not sooner which was difficult for because I usually wake-up at 6 A.M.. I had the whole wheat waffles with cranberries, nuts... The conversation was lively at breakfast and Rochelle and Mike gave me some good advise about how to proceed to Bryce Canyon. I ended up taking the scenic route which is what I came to southern Utah to see. I had some geology stops along the way thanks to Mike's knowledge of the area. Date of stay: May 2013

Yelp
Our second stay with Mike & Rochelle and I'm already excited to be back. The perfect location between Bryce & Zion and a delicious breakfast to fuel you up before a day of hiking. Mike & Rochelle make you feel like you're home away from home and offer plenty of off-the-beaten-path suggestions to enhance your trip.

Yelp
Best B&B I've ever had the pleasure to visit and the best part were the hosts...Mike and Rochelle (aka, Rocky). They made me feel like family during my stay and the breakfast cooked by Rochelle was fabulous. There is so much history in the house and the area is so beautiful. I'll never forget my wonderful stay there and I feel so very fortunate to have made great new friends in Mike and Rochelle.

Yelp
This is a wonderfully welcoming old-fashioned B&B, originally a rooming house from the 1920's. The rooms are spacious, with big comfortable beds and period furnishings along with satellite TV and WiFi, several opening onto a covered porch facing the sunrise. The property is filled with fruit trees and flowers, a fish pond and hummingbird nest, and a multi-level deck out back. Hosts Rochelle & Mike could not be nicer, providing sightseeing tips and directions along with a wonderful breakfast spread (good coffee, juice, granola, yogurt, fresh fruit, cereal, and homemade banana-nut waffles the day we were there), and even cut up an apple for my daughters to feed the horses next door. We were only passing through, but I would very happily spend a week here seeing the local sights.
