"Out of the nine remaining covered bridges that still stand in Maine, the Artist's Bridge remains one of the most stunning. Built in 1872, the beautiful bridge, with its crisscrossing posts that are perfect for peering at the surrounding scenery, is one of Maine's most photographed and painted sites." - Travel + Leisure Editors

Was a bit of a drive, and a bit out of the way .. but the scenery was spectacular along the way. This bridge was nice to visit, walk through, and photograph... but just wished there was something more in the immediate area - no town/village; no cute shops; no real restaurants or dining. Just know that it's kinda in the middle of nowhere. But again, the bridge is in good condition and wonderful to visit.

Nice short easy trail from the base of the bridge. The bridge is decommissioned so you can explore without the worry of getting hit. Parking for 5-10 cars. Lots of good spots to take photos of the bridge but also don't underestimate pictures of the river along the trail

Leaf peeping led my daughter and I here today! She is from Illinois and here for her first time. Near peak color and couldn't have asked for a better day. This is the only Maine bridge she got to see but I made sure she saw it!

Sept. 29, 2021 - Take several minutes to walk into the PAST ! This is 1 of 9 covered bridges in Maine. Most of these old wooden covered bridges were constructed more than a century ago, prior to the use of steel. Sometimes the local town decides to protect and rehab the old covered bridge? This bridge is in reasonable shape, but there’s no historic plaque? I rate this a solid 4.5 ! Most of the old covered bridges are isolated, and “not utilized“ anymore to carry vehicles. Most folks traveling west to east between ME & NH, stop to see local colorful foliage outside North Bethel & Newry . . . this is a picturesque spot of the Sunday River, complete with a postcard covered bridge ! This Paddleford Truss bridge is 87 feet long, built in 1872, and was closed to vehicular traffic in 1958.

A very nice historical stop with interesting architecture. Worth a visit anytime if the year. We were lucky to catch it in the fall and enjoyed our experience on a misty fall day.
