How to Explore Ludington, Michigan

"Set up as an outdoor museum with over thirty historic buildings—from a one-room schoolhouse to an old-fashioned courthouse—Historic White Pine Village made me feel like I’d stepped back into a simpler time and gave me a new appreciation for Michigan’s roots." - Matthew Kepnes

This is one the coolest places I've visited. It took about 2 hours to walk thru all the historic buildings. The staff is helpful and friendly. Please check this hidden gem out!

Great, historic little village to visit and learn a ton of Michigan history. Stop into the ice cream shop, too. Delicious, locally made ice cream and the server was friendly and engaging. Would definitely go back.

This is actually a fun place to visit. We found it almost by accident. There are a Number of displays. Several buildings to walk through. Make sure you get the map and kind of follow it around the grounds. Some of the buildings you can see in five minutes or less. Others you’ll want to linger and take a look around. In total, it’s about a mile and a quarter to walk around the entire thing. So, it’s not too difficult to see The entire thing in 3 to 4 hours. You can get to most of the village in a morning or afternoon. There is also a rather odd display in one of the buildings. It is a local sports museum. Most of this centers on local high school athletes. It just seemed kind of odd to us. Nothing wrong with it, just a little bit out of the ordinary.

Wow - fenced in area with nearly 50 different buildings/things to see. We spent over 2 hours here as a couple. There are signs to read, information to take in, or just see all the historical artifacts. Attractions include an old school, chapel, doctor's office, sawmill, farmhouse, railroad cars, a general store etc. Several volunteers who will make you feel like you are in Ludington in the year 1885. I recommend a combo ticket with Ludington's Maritime Museum
