Came here for a good craft beer and I was not disappointed as the selection and taste of their beers is excellent. The food is okay and a decent local variety and the service is prompt. The premises are nice and well kept. Overall I recommend this place as a nice chilled refuge from the craziness of Akihabara.

Google
Good beer and a nice place to sit on the river. Was pretty busy on a Friday night but we were able to get a seat without a problem. The line was long and it took them a while to bring out our food though, and they were also out of a few beers. I’d like to go back during the daytime.

I am a beer and brewery lover from USA, and this place is amazing! The atmosphere is quaint. The Dai Dai Ale, Weizen, Amber, and Grapefruit beers are delicious. I can’t wait to try them all.

Google
Almost perfect, friendly staff. Every glass that I tried was delicious. The view, vibe, and music were great. What confused me is that even though you came here early, I picked the table that didn't have any reserved signs. After a few glasses, the staff came and put a reserved time sign on my table. It's kind of like they want to kick you out. It's confused me a lot. I'm not even finished with my glass, and they don't even care if I want to order more or not.

Nice ale ! Just a short walk from Akihabara. You will have a great view of Kanda river as well

Google
A really nice place for a beer, with tables outside when the weather allows it. The local draft beers are super nice. Snacks and food available too, but kitchen closes at 09:00, so be aware of that. Definitely recommended if you're in the area :)

I always come back, when in Tokyo, in this small, relaxed and quiet place near the frenetic life of Akihabara. The beers are good, the people are smiling, and the stop is pleasant. One little delusion, a few days ago, is related to the bow of "mixed nuts" (I always order this with my beer) which was in fact a small plate of one kind of nuts, very different from my beloved "real mix" of nuts they served me in the past.

Google
We were out exploring all day and we're looking for a quiet place to relax. We found this little beer bar and it was perfect for a quick break. The beer was delicious and the views were great. They have a tasting tray you can do if you are undecided about which beer you would like. They have a lot of seats along the river with great views. They also have small bites of food you can order. I would highly recommend this place if you want a drink with a view.

Yelp
Nice little brewery and spot to hang out, but not quite as awesome as I hoped. I really like Hitachino beer when I find it--especially their espresso stout and when I read the description of this place on the website, I was really excited. It sounded like a little cafe with food designed to pair with the beer a lot of one-off beer. The reality was a bit more disappointing. They did have some interesting one-off beer in bottles and on-tap that was fun. The anbai ale (sour ale with sour plums) was really good. That said, the food was disappointing at best with really just some sausage and sandwich that amounted to an actual meal and fewer options for the kids. It turned out to be much less of a meal stop than we'd hoped. Perhaps most disappointing, there was no beer to go. We had to walk into Akihabara to the other Hitachino shop to get bottles to go. Keeping this at a four star was the location and view. It's in a small hole-in-the-wall that looks out a the river and across into Akihabara with some outdoor seating and just a very cool vibe.

Yelp
Great spot! Beer was amazing! They have Yuzu beer which is my favorite! And Kaede was such a great server!!!!

Yelp
Was very disappointed with HBL / we made 2 special pilgrimages to each location which google indicated were open and when we arrived they were closed- his was January 3rd 2024, we wasted over and hour and Uber rides to try the beer , as I've had it in California as a bottled import, so was very excited about visiting such a cool craft microbrewery. Disappointment was the theme of the night. Hitachi no, you should buy my group a few beers for our effort and deal with google when your holiday hours change to reflect accurate info,

Yelp
Excellent! Beautiful location nestled underneath the Chūō line (formerly Manseibashi station). Super-friendly staff (English speaking as well, when I visited) and delicious beer - not a ton on tap but all of them are great quality! Great location to do a bit of people-watching. The only warning I can offer: there's a lot of spiders along the bridge and waterfront railing. If you're an arachnophobe like me I'd recommend sticking inside.

Yelp
Visiting Tokyo for the first time in many years, I did a lot of walking around to reacquaint myself, supplemented by some upfront research - so happy Hitachino was on my list! Cool riverside brewery at front side of chic / upscale bazaar of 8-9 businesses. I tried both Weizen (terrific) and Pale Ale (very good). Inside and outside seating to enjoy :-)

Yelp
A little brewpub tucked underneath the train tracks near Akibihara JR Rail station. Copper brewery equipment around the sitting area and around 10 beers on tap. Interesting flavored beers including Yuzu and Sakura flower. They also have some local Gin and Whisky, which we didn't try. The waiters will come and take your order.

Yelp
Nestled in its own little cove and off from the bustling streets of Akihabara just a mere block away. This place is really a sanctuary. Sitting out on the shaded patio on a warm day is the best. You get an awesome view of the Kanda river along with the glittering buildings plastered with anime and electronic advertisements. What could make this better? Oh yeah, delicious, delicious beer! There are daily flight special that rotates between a wide selection of Hitachino brews. The white ale is probably their most popular one. It's crisp, refreshing, and somewhat pricey at 900 yen for a "large" (which is about the size of a pint). But don't let that dissuade you from visiting, it's totally worth the experience.

Yelp
The wonderful Amy T. found this gem after I mentioned how I love Hitachino Beer, and it did not disappoint. There was a fantastic selection of beers on draft and in the bottle, a tasting set, and they also had food as well. When walking in, I liked the industrial feel to the place - they have a bar area, a larger indoor seating area, and the patio area right in front. I first got the tasting set, which had the infamous Hitachino White Nest Ale, a lager, and an amber ale. I appreciated how the beers were not very bitter, and of course the White Nest was the best. I also had the Nipponia, which was full of flavor and very sweet tasting. My friend got the Saison, which was cloudy and sweet as well. We didn't order any food, after just having had dinner, but there were parties there that were eating - it's a great place to socialize and chill, and I'd be down to go again to try their other beers!

Yelp
Back home in Los Angeles, I would often pick up a small selection of Hitachino Nest beers at my local Whole Foods and often the selection has been limited. The beer has been scarcely available in the U.S. since 2000, 4 years after Hotachino Nest Beer was started by Ibaraki's Kiuchi Brewery. Admittedly, I was initially interested in trying their bottles simply because of the Owl character on their labels. It was an exotic choice among my several must-try bottles. My go-to was their White Ale; a Belgian style Wit-bier, available year-round, with an average alcohol by volume (abv) range of 5.5%. This has been the extent of my Japanese craft experience. Once in Tokyo, I made certain to visit their 'brewing lab' in Akihabara. As of this review, there is at least one other known location near Tokyo Station, I have added to my list. Additionally, there is a soon-to-open San Francisco location. My first order at the Hitachino Brewing Lab in Akihabara included a glass of their (¥750) Espresso Stout (Russian Imperial Stout brewed with well-roasted espresso beans) on draft, along with their mackerel sandwich plate with a side of pickles and miso soup. Everything was exceptional and better than expected. After considering additional pours, including their available 3 beer tasting sets, I tried a glass of their (¥750) Red Rice Ale; described as "Sake-like" flavors with a hint of strawberry. I enjoyed my first visit tremendously and look forward to returning once back in the area.

Yelp
Place is really close to Akihabara, so after geeking out, come here and have a flight of beers and you won't feel so geeky. Beer is really solid. I actually came back a 2nd time and brought Luis with me. We didn't try any food, just drank beer. They also have free sparkling water! It's also right by a river (I forget the name) and next to a really hipster-like shopping area that's a series of stores. It's actually pretty relaxing and calm here so a good place to take a break from Tokyo's hectic streets.

Yelp
My bf loooves Hitachino and it was a must that we come to this location. May be a bit difficult to find, but it's within a hall of other small stores. They have a nice outdoor seating area where you can overlook the.....river? Idk if that's what you'd call it, but..it was a nice day, with great breeze..so it was perfect! I started off with wine, and I don't remember which beer my bf chose, but he was happy with his decision. We got some katsu sandos to munch on & they tasted delicious! Our second round consisted of me ordering their Espresso Stout & my bf got a seasonal beer. I ordered their potatoes and I saw that they were kept in a jar, thrown into a bowl and microwaved. Didn't look good and it didn't taste good - at all, either..so kind of a disappointment on that. Besides that..our experience was a good one, and if you like craft beer, it's a place worth checking out!

Yelp
I found Hitachino Brewing Lab when I was researching things to do in Japan and I'm so glad we decided to make a stop here. This brewery is near Akihabara, but further away from the center of all the Anime and lights. It's actually located near the canal area with high end looking shops. The brewery has seating indoors as well an outdoor covered area overlooking the water. There's lights along the railing and it looked romantic. Unfortunately, I was cold so we decided to sit inside, but it was still a comfortable atmosphere. The staff here were friendly and accommodating. My favorite beer there is the Nipponia and my husband liked the Hitachino Nest Lager. We ended up getting a can to go, which they pour and can for you right in front of you. Such a cool experience!

Yelp
I love Tokyo for more reasons than I count, but craft beer isn't usually one of them. Most Japanese restaurants and bars only carry Asahi, Kirin, or most frequently these days, Suntory Premium Malts. Which is why this place is an absolute must-visit if you are a craft beer lover visiting Tokyo. It literally might be the only place in the city where you can consistently get amazing craft beer. The Hitachino Nest White Ale is fairly easy to find nowadays in the U.S., but this bar has a much wider array of Hitachino Nest beers. My personal favorite is their Japanese Classic Ale, aged in mizunara wood barrels. Their free glasses of sparkling water is also a nice touch. It really hits the spot in a city where glasses of water are TINY and I often find it hard to stay well hydrated.

Yelp
I frequently drink Hitachino in the states for their red rice ale. They even sell the craft beer at Costco. I had exploring Akihabara planned already and this spot was conveniently located nearby. The view isn't too shabby either. Not knowing where to start, the beer sampler was a good choice. All the bar food comes in small mason like jars. Salami and the jellied pate was only okay. I'd stick to all the great beers in the future. I'm excited for Hitachino to open up their SF shop soon!

Yelp
Well here's a hidden little spot with craft beers and craft food. It's not impossible to find in the age of Apple Maps/Google Maps but it might lead you astray. It's by the bridge to Akihabara. You can sit by the river and just enjoy the day. That is until a hoard of drunk European tourists show up and shout absurdities while they order more beers. I mean, come on people, it's 2:30 pm...even if you enjoy a good day drink there's no need to shout across the place about the Japanese smoking rules. Actually caused us to move from our seats outdoors 2 stores down the way...and they were still obnoxious. That said, you can do that if you bus your plates and glasses back. Can't fault the biz for some obnoxious folk. Come and hope for it to be chill and enjoy.

Yelp
A craft beer pub serving Hitachino Nest Beer near Akihabara. BEST PART: Location, location, location! I love their terrace seats that over look the canal next to Akihabara. You could really soak in "Japan" as you sip on Japanese craft beer here. Additionally, you should checkout this mAAch building, which is filled with really cool shops, coffee takeout store, sweet shop, etc. BEER: I do not know of a Japanese microbrewery that is more famous than Hitachino Next Beer outside of Japan. Within Japan, they are very little known. There are dozens of more famous craft beer brands here. So few Japanese people has heard of Hitachino. They must have a strong marketing team globally. Taste? Not my favorite. For me, taste of their beer is marginal at best. Not bad, but I know so many better Japanese beers. On the night I went, they had 7 types of beer on tap. FOOD: Not too good. To be fair, they are not trying to serve gourmet food. This is not a restaurant. It is a brew house with beer on the main stage. They mainly carry "tsumami" (appetizers) that does not require too much work from the chef. Don't go here hungry. Stay with simple food like nuts, pickles, etc. PRICE: 680 Yen a glass. One size only. Pay at the counter.

Yelp
Drinking Hitachino back in Canada I didn't think much of it back then. After actually having to visit one of their brewing labs, never had I expected them to do experimental beers. Service: Let me get off the back by saying the bartenders are helpful and friendly; nothing much to say about it. You order at the front then grab a seat that is available. Food: They have variety of finger foods and sandwiches that are available but for the sake of this review I'm strictly sticking to the drinks. I ordered the Nipponia - Barrel aged beer that is done in wine barrels. $30 bottle of beer that I wasn't disappointed in. Ambiance: You have a intimate interior available to you right in front of the bar or also a patio with the view of the river running through. Recommendation: Definitely worth checking the place out if your in the Kanda area. Enjoy nice patio weather and a glass of beer or two.

Yelp
Coming from here, we were excited to drink Hitachino in Japan. It wasn't available at any restaurant we ate at but I made sure we made a trip to one of their brewing labs. This one is located in Akihabara so checking out all the tech and games stuff was fun after a couple beers. We only stayed in the outside area so it wasn't until we had to use the restroom that we went inside the building and noticed another area indoors with even more goodies and alcohol for purchase. A great last afternoon drink spot. Thank you!

Yelp
Relaxing location with great beer - definitely worth a visit if you want to try a brewery that's been making headway in the US. Hitachino is probably most known for their white ale in the states. Would recommend if you've never had it before, but since I have I was looking to try something different. Luckily there's a decent draft selection covering a variety of styles as well as a rarer bottles. I had the Dai Dai ale and their Belgian ale option (forgot the name). After two large glasses, I was sufficiently buzzed and ready to head over to Akihabara. For a weekday afternoon it was busy but not packed. Weather was amazing and they have seating for larger groups. Would be a nice option for folks looking to day drink while in the area. They also have a small food menu and swag for sale. Likes - beer selection, seating options, location by the river Dislikes - tourists cruising through the river by boat or jet ski, hard to find location
google avatar

Kenson K.

Yelp
Located on the first floor of an unassuming building on the edge of Akihabara. They have a quite a few craft brews here which are not available in the stores. The pub itself is a bit small, but there is seating outside as well, so you can kick back with your brewskis. This is not your typical Asahi or Kirin beer, this is some good a** craft brewed sh**. They speak English here and the signs are all in English so no worries if you're a foreigner.

Yelp
What a great place to hang, right by the river. Sample local Hitachino beers and sample their snacks/food. There are usually a half dozen+ beers on tap plus a few bottled beers as well. I'd recommend starting with their generous three glass sampler. Find a spot outside alongside the river. The 'lab' is at the end of a bunch of shops housed inside this stone/brick building. Each shop is accessible via a 'tunnel' which creates a nice atmosphere. Back to Hitachino: they have about a dozen or so snacks plus sandwiches. Nothing fancy but it's a great pairing with the beers. Wifi is free and they have a nice selection of items for sale. My favorite is the white ceramic glass with the Hitachino Nest logo on it. The staff is friendly. They take credit cards. They do close early-ish (9pm when I was there) so plan on wandering over to Akihabara from here. Just a couple of blocks from the station and plenty to see and do. Enjoy! Highly recommended.

Yelp
Small place, good beer. Having had the White Ale at home, I was drawn to try the beers that I could not get back in United States. This place is a revolving draft beer selection and many of their own bottles for sale as well. I was impressed with the food selections for such a small kitchen. We had a sampler of three beers to start which is predetermined every day. They have sampler one and sampler two. It was nice to try a few beers before deciding on a full glass. I chose to do a bottle for the second round because it was something that I hadn't tried before. On my third turn, I went back to draft beer and was equally as impressed. If you're in the area, you should stop by and sample some of their great beer and a unique location.

Yelp
Needed to get a quick bite and found this small pub with small dishes. I tried the espresso stout and was not disappointed. I chose the shrimp mushroom soup which was served hot and was very tasty. Good choices and great location. Stop here for a quick brew.

Yelp
Hitachino Nest is one of my favorite Japanese beers and it was hard to find in the areas I stayed at, which included Tokyo, Hakone, Kyoto, Osaka and Kanazawa. ): The bar is small but they do have 8 draft beers and some bottles for purchase. Prices are a little high for the bottles so I would stick with the drafts. Honestly, I was just happy that I could enjoy the beer after so much searching. A draft beer here will run you 680¥ up.

Yelp
Japanese craft beer pub within minutes from Akihabara station. My first attempt here was a bust. It was closed. New Year's Day so many bars/pubs/microbrews and restaurants were closed for the weekend. This visit...SUCCESS!! Invited Speedy G. meet me here for a few beers. The location: About 6 mins away from the station. When you cross the bridge it's the first shop you see in the mAAch ecute brick area building. The views are nice. Drink outside and see the water and busy Akihabara. It snowed in the morning and was Samui/cold so we opted to drink indoors. The beer: 8 beers on tap. One size only (half pint) for ¥680. Not a bad thing. More opportunity to enjoy the different brews. Had the White Ale and Nipponia. I enjoyed both but favor the Nipponia. Hoppy but not heavily bitter. Food: Not a restaurant. Sandwiches and snacks to hold you over until your next meal. We split the pork schnitzerl and BBQ pork sandwiches. Both really good for ¥600. Not a stay here all day/evening kind of place. If you're craft beer crawling this place is a great stop. #9/100 2016

Yelp
Is it really that obvious that I love beer? Craft beer scene in Japan isn't as advanced as in Denmark / Copenhagen obviously but Hitachino is one of the famous owl brand that we all know and their "brewing lab" bar by the river has a great view over the Kanda river and all the light show from Akihabara area. If you love beer and you happen to be in the area, please go to this place you will not regret it. Their beer list isn't long, but they're quite good. I got the rice beer (!!) and the white ale that were quite good. Staff speaks english and it seems there were good deal of foreigners hanging out here as well, hence the english ability. Go through the "maAAch ecute" building and walk to the right, past the interior shop.

Yelp
I understand why Hitachino costs so much to get in United States now, because craft beer in Japan is so damn expensive. Nevertheless, it's great to visit the actual location in Japan because they have some rare beers here you can't get anywhere else. It's also cheaper here than anywhere else. All their beers are quite balanced in flavor, which is why I love this brewery when you're not craving for anything over the top and just want some tasty session-able beers. Anyway, their belgian was good and their expresso stout is tops. If you're in the Akihabara district, don't forget this place. It's sure as hell a lot better than the gimmicky maid cafes haha 4 stars.

Yelp
If you love and support micro breweries or the culture of hand crafted beer, look no further if you're in the Tokyo area. These guys have fantastic beers on tap ready to drink. I discovered this place on Yelp and told my wife that we had to check it out. They've got a great lounge set up and view of the little river and city. We went in late November and the temperature was perfect to sit outside and enjoy the beers. I want to say my wife and I had 5 of their beers, total. Anymore and we would've been knocked out. When it started to get chilly out, the bartender turned on the outside heater for us. We stayed there for at least an hour and enjoyed beers outside. Seriously though, I can't stress enough how great the beers were and how much attention to detail the bartender took in preparing our drink. Try this place out!

Yelp
I cry. Why? Because I will never be able to get Hitachino on tap here in LA. (Unless you know of somewhere, then please let me know!) This place is located on the end of a small shopping arcade/tunnel with super cute small stores so I definitely recommend browsing around those stores after you get your drink! The craziest part of this place is how reasonably priced their beers are. I was able to get a flight of 3 different beers including their special seasonal Sakura beer for less money and more beer than their normal glass pour! (FYI they only offer certain beers to be chosen for the flight, not the whole menu).I'm so used to paying an absurd amount for a bottle of hitachino at my local bar so coming here made me happy as a clam. They also sell hitachino merchandise here including coasters and various beer glasses! All reasonably priced too. Definitely recommend a visit here for all my beer (especially Hitachino) lovers for a nice drink after exploring the electronics area of Akihabara!
google avatar

Shea S.

Yelp
A solid 3.5 stars rounded up to 4. Liked having some of their less available stuff on tap, though wish they'd have a few more. Some of the most flavorful beer in Japan though. The sweet stout was the standout on the day we visited. Decent food too. The brisket sandwich was surprisingly flavorful and tender. Really chill open air spot, though a bit hard to find (it's right on the river, on the backside of the building). Probably the easiest way to get this many Hitachino beers in one place to try without heading out of town to the brewery.
google avatar

Austen M.

Yelp
We had come to the area to see the flashing lights and the famed electronics buildings. We wandered around and the grew weary and needed a rest and a drink. Initially we walked into a maid cafe as we thought it might be an interesting experience, but then walked right out when we realised it was a shit rip off... Then we found this place. Hipster rating was very high from the moment we spotted it. A small bar down by a river, next to a load of design shops and a library! The bar does Nest craft beer. It has all the usual array of styles but all are made by the Japanese brewery called Nest. As predictable as ever I chose the Ipa and we settled in to watch the boats go by. If you are looking for a decent beer bar then this is a good place to go. Cool stonework decor and brewery style finishing. Really nice place for a pint and to pass some time after a long afternoon exploring the local sites.
google avatar

Ian L.

Yelp
If you love anime (or don't) and beer then definitely stop by Brewing Lab while checking out Akihabara. There isn't much signage pointing this place out but it was super easy to find and quickly grab a brew. I was happily impressed by their tasting flight but was unable to imbibe in their other offerings due to our trip schedule. I didn't see many good food options here in-house so don't come here looking for a proper meal, especially if you are a tourist (so much good food elsewhere). I would definitely come back when I make my way back to Tokyo!

Yelp
This is a must for anyone visiting Tokyo. This is my second time in this beautiful city but my first time stumbling upon this gem. Tokyo has no shortage of amazing food/beer spots but this one ranks in my top 5. They have a sampler available of different beers with one being a seasonal. I'd recommend trying it if it's your first time. I CANT WAIT TO GO BACK!!!
google avatar

Michael P.

Yelp
This was one of my favorite stops in Tokyo. I had to swing back on my last day to pick up some cans to bring home. First things first, as other reviews have mentioned, it's not easy to find. It's under the first arch of the railroad viaduct, under the "Maach" sign. They have some outdoor seating overlooking the river, and a few tables inside. I really like the atmosphere inside the arched space. They have small brewing setup in the back, and a long counter for service, though no bar to sit at. The trains above were barely noticeable. They had a good variety of beers on tap, and a canning machine to take it away. They have food and what looked like good lunch specials, but I did not try them.
google avatar

Evelyn W.

Yelp
OMG... can I give this place 6, 7, or 10 stars? I fell in love with Hitachino in NYC, but we only get the Red and White in bottles. When we visited Tokyo, I made a point to go here and try ALL their beers... and buy ALL THEIR GEAR. Every single one of their beers is ON POINT. When I say on point, I mean all their beer is exactly what that style of beer should taste like and they were all so well balanced. It was amazing. If you enjoy Hitachino and you're in Tokyo, you must visit!!!!!

Kiersten C.

Yelp
Highly recommend the Hitachino Brewing lab! We came here several times during our stay in Akihabara. This is the perfect place for a cold beer and bite to eat after a long day of walking in Akihabara. The staff were friendly, English speaking, and very helpful. Also offered a lovely view of the city and overlooks a small river

Hatachino is a nice place to grab a beer , right outside busy akihabara. The atmosphere is quite relaxing, right on a river with many other restaurants nearby. As far as beer, Hatachino has many beers that you cant find in the US - such as a Chocolate Stout and a delicious Double IPA. They also have limited releases in bottle that you can bring "to go". My only complaint is that the food menu is quite limited. However, there are many other places nearby to grab some food. Come here for a beer and some down time after walking Akihabara!

Yelp
Very cute little craft brewery on the water, very casual atmosphere and pretty woodwork. The beer is fantastic, especially because it can be hard to find craft beer in Japan with the prevalence of the popular macrobrews. The three beer samplers are good for tasting, healthy ~5oz pours. The white ale is fantastic and wonderfully drinkable, but I haven't had a beer from this brewery that I dislike. There's also a pretty nice view of the lights from Akihabara across the river in the evening. Definitely worth a stop for a drink!

Yelp
This is a great place to grab a craft beer and chill. They have a decent amount of indoor seating, but also a ton of porch space, including two couches and several tables. We took advantage of the tables outside, which overlook the river and the Akihabara high rises. They have a stack of blankets on their porch for this outdoor seating, which made it very comfortable (we sat on the blankets because the chairs were cold but the air wasn't so bad). The quality and variety of draft beer is just about average for the other places we experienced in Tokyo, so you won't find a crazy amount variety or anything... but honestly this venue was cool enough to take my review from 3 to 4 stars.

Yelp
Naturally biased...this place is awesome. I personally love Hitachino beer. It's quite expensive in the states but worth the splurge. Before my trip, i decided to see if they had a brewery and luck would have it, they did. It is conveniently located a few blocks from Akihabara. Beautiful night scene on the river to grab a drink to end a day of touring or a pre-dinner drink. The brewery is situated in a renovated train station and includes other boutique shops. The brewery is small but there are outside seating. they offer light bites. I went on two occassions only for drinks. They have some nice souvenirs to buy as well. There were a lot of non-japanese so i assume it was a tourist destination for those that know of hitachino.

Yelp
Great little bar for day drinking and watching the world go by. Quite expensive, but that's Tokyo for you.

Yelp
Beautiful small space with many great beers on tap year round while only 16 seats inside, plus standing room, a year-round covered patio is welcome. The bar snacks (otsumami) are excellent. Didn't get to try the sandwiches, maybe on the next visit.

Yelp
I actually love Hitachino beers because I love owls. Of course we HAD to come here. Little did I know it was along the water with a perfect view of the Tokyo skyline :) Unfortunately, when we went the weather was so nice that all the outdoor seatings along the water were taken. The indoor seating was very limited, but it wasn't hard to find a table. You can either order a tasting of your choice or just order a glass. They don't serve it in the cute bottles you see in the states because it's all on tap, but the cups have the cute owl on it! I'm not a beer snob so I can't comment on the variety and quality of the beers, but I really enjoyed my darker choice. Good place to sit back and relax and people watch :)

Yelp
This is definitelt a great place to grab a beer and relax. There are some people that come from afyer work to hang out but when we went it was relatively un-crowded. I had the white ale and the Weizen. They were both fantastic. They also have some high top tables right near the canal with atrung lights. It's a unique spot and once your finished you can walk inside and outside and see some of the shops.

Yelp
This place was awesome! We missed it the first time we walked by but it was worth hunting down. My husband and I came in and got two flights each (we can't find anywhere near us in the states that carries Hitachino anymore), and we also picked a bunch of nibbles off the menu. The meat and cheese app was perfect, the atmosphere was really chill, and the beer was great! Definitely stop by here if you are visiting!

Yelp
I tasted their Nest Beer some years ago and really wanted to try some of the other styles they make so on my last visit to Tokyo I went in search of their base of operations. Any body who has visited Tokyo knows that it is nearly impossible to locate an address unless you already know where it is. We walked around the area for about 1/2 hour asking in hotels and stores, pointing to the map that I had printed out before leaving The States. Finally we got close enough that somebody could point us in the right direction. Tucked into a artsy mall along the river was a tiny brewpub, crowded with hip young people, delicious beer and fun bottled snacks and heartier fare. We sat outside in a slight drizzle and sampled four of their amazing brews and munched on some light snacks while gazing at the neon streets of Akihabara. A great way to kick back after a day wearing out a pair of shoes sightseeing.
