Outstanding dining experience! The lobster and prawns were perfectly prepared - fresh and expertly cooked. Kids loved their pasta and spaghetti, and the desserts were exceptional. What truly impressed us was the service - despite arriving without a reservation on Saturday evening, the staff warmly welcomed us and found us a table. The waiters were top-level professionals, attentive and friendly throughout. As someone who invests in premium restaurants, I can appreciate this level of hospitality excellence. The combination of excellent food and genuine Italian warmth creates exactly the kind of memorable experience that keeps guests returning. Highly recommended! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

Amazing pasta and great local wines. Make sure you make a booking. Even in mid September we can without a booking and had to wait. This was totally ok waiting as they take your drink order and you can have a wine or drink in the seats available. Great menu with plenty of local dishes. Get taxi or walk here. Drink lots and be merry.

Had such an amazing meal at HIVAOA Porto Cervo! The whole vibe was elegant but relaxed. The staff were lovely and the service was spot on. Right in the heart of Costa Smeralda — definitely a must-visit if you’re into great food and good vibes. Highly recommend! 🙌🍸💙

We had such a great experience at Hivaoa from the moment we arrived and were greeted at the door up until we left very late in the evening. We had a party of 24 (2 x tables of 12pp) with a booking - I would advise this. The staff were very friendly and were very attentive in taking our orders and accomodating all the special meal requests from the kids. We had both starters and mains and all the food came out promptly and hot. The food was beautiful! Food and drinks were reasonably priced including the alcohol. The staff looked after our birthday girls and the entertainment even sang happy birthday to them 🎂 The restaurant doesn’t have any fancy views but it really doesn’t need it with the lovely setting, decor and atmosphere. I look forward to eating here again.

Had a really good dinner here! We ordered the ravioli and a salami/olive/onion pizza—both were full of flavor and nicely presented. The ravioli was tasty, and the pizza had that perfect crispy crust with generous toppings. Service was friendly and smooth, and the whole vibe of the place was relaxed and welcoming. Prices were very reasonable, which made the experience even better. Definitely worth checking out if you’re in the area and looking for a solid Italian meal without breaking the bank.

Not recommended! Today we visited the restaurant with high expectations since everyone praises it. We didn’t reserve a table because we came at a non-standard dining time — around 5 pm, after lunch but before dinner. We were told we could have a table for one hour, which was fine with us. But then the staff repeated this three more times, making us feel very uncomfortable, almost like we were unwanted guests. For the staff’s note: the same information could have been delivered much more gracefully — for example, ‘Our kitchen works quickly and we hope you’ll enjoy your meal within the hour.’ (In case you thought we forgot the previous times you mentioned it!) That’s how it’s usually done in higher-level establishments. In the end, we left even earlier than one hour. I’m attaching a photo of the empty hall — as you can see, it wasn’t that all tables were reserved. It was simply the way guests are treated… -100€ - mood We didn’t finish our dishes. The clams had an off taste, and the only shrimp in the seafood pasta was not deveined, was with digestive tract — I ended up eating only the pasta from that dish. The dish was even served in an aluminum foil swan. The carbonara was extremely salty, and the seafood pizza came with the shells still on, so you had to scrape them out before you could even eat.

Very disappointing experience. We visited this place based on a recommendation, but unfortunately didn’t get a chance to dine at the wonderful La Briciola restaurant, so we had to go with plan B – and it turned out to be a big mistake. The pasta arrived completely cold, and after eating it I had digestion problems. My wife’s dish was also completely tasteless. This place is seriously overrated. As for the service – it says a lot that the guests sitting next to us were given a pizza box to pack their leftovers themselves. That really sums up the level of service here. Definitely a place to avoid. A huge disappointment.

I spent just one week in Porto Cervo but I was here twice- you can guess why- I love this place. Music, hostesses, service- everything is 10⭐️ with a twist and totally different from usual. Menu is rich, with lots of options and I can only say that everything was delicious.

First impressions the place is nice. We had reservations and it was for our anniversary. They seated us is what turned out to be the table with all the flys. The service was pretty terrible the waiters were not pleasant. The starts came out and the calamari was good the potato crochets were ok. Our mains came of the presentation of the food was very nice but the cooking was off. The salmon was undercooked raw in the middle. The sea bass was done well. But the lasagna I couldn't tell if it was undercooked or overcooked but it wasn't done well. We were gonna try a dessert since we were there but we couldn't get a server to the table. We ended up just leaving and going to the front for the bill. The prices at this place are good so at least we didn't over pay to much.

We went to Hivaoa 3 times during our 5-day stay in Porto Cerco; dined in twice and ordered take out once. The service was great- the staff were attentive, funny, and friendly. They really took care of us and made the dine-in experience fun. The restaurant has a really fun atmosphere with good music and good energy. Out of everything we ordered the pizza is our absolute favorite; we tried the salsiccia, sarda, italia, and bresaola. These were all amazing. We also loved the seafood ravioli with crustacean sauce, spaghetti alla carbonara, and the paccheri pesto e gamberi. We also enjoyed the lasagne della casa and scallopine di maiala ai funghi con patate al forno, but they weren't our top favorites. If we visit Porto Cervo again we will 100% be back!

They advertise they're open 24 hours/day. Service is quick, food is decent and not overpriced. We had a pizza- good crust & toppings were generous. Pizza in Sardinia is Napoli style- thin crust but the center seems to always be mushy. Waiters move like they have been drinking the espresso. No view but good people watching.

I'm not ashamed to tell you that I ate at Hivaoa not once, not twice, but three times during my week-long stay in Porto Cervo. Sardinia is so beautiful and Hivaoa offers unpretentious, delicious Italian food, at a really good value for money given the area. Night one I ordered a three course tasting menu for 22 EUR plus wine. Course 1 was mini Sardinian octopus in a diavlo sauce, a little strange, but I was feeling adventurous. Course 2 was a super-fresh spaghetti with seafood and clams: fantastic! Finally for course 3 I had grilled calamari, also excellent. Night two I came with a group and tried the fish polpette di pesce (yum, ~6 EUR) and a pizza (~9 EUR). Night three I had an insalata mista and Sardinian pasta with tuna, pesto, and tomato, also really tasty. This place was buzzing was families early in the evening, and then turned to a more lounge-like atmosphere later in the night. It's always nice to find a local spot and be greeted by a loud "ciao, buona serra!" when the owner recognizes you walking down the street.

Hivaoa is a great casual find in Porto Cervo. They have FREE WIFI! And excellent service. It was truly the best service we had on our entire trip through Italy. The food is more of a 3-4 stars but the service was a 5! The location in the marina was convenient. The prices are very reasonable.

We loved the food and the friendly service. The pizza was delicious and we tried some tradicional Sardinian food that was really really good.

Hiva Oa was one of our 'go to' restaurants for feeding a professional sailing team of 22 hungry guys after a rough day of racing, and also when we wanted to grab one of the tastiest pizzas in town! Not only is the service warm and friendly, but the service is fast, and the food is delicious....one meal at the Hiva Oa is not enough!

Very good food, nice outdoor venue, it is a bit touristy but worth the trip. This is a moderately priced restaurant with fresh well prepared food. I had the grilled seafood which I would say was typical for the area, very fresh not overcooked and simply prepared. My wife had the pizza which she said was very good.

Food is amazing but it's a busy atmosphere. Food was fast prepared and especially the fish was delicious. Pasta and Tiramisu were very good. It seemed that Pizza isn't the best choice. A few people just ate one/two pieces.
