The Best Places in Zurich for Nightlife - AFAR

"A self-described collective nightclub with three distinct rooms, resident DJs, and guest artists; door staff curate the line to assemble a mix of “weird, easy, and urban” patrons, and the club—open late into the morning—prioritizes non-macho vibes and support for Zurich-based performers." - Joel Riddell

"Unfortunately, I had a disappointing experience with this club. Despite being polite and respectful, I was denied entry based on personal bias rather than any valid reason. I hope the management can ensure a more fair and welcoming environment for everyone in the future." From a girl she probably has problems and she is raceis. we are living in the 22 century and this is very disappointed and it’s horrible. She was a blond short girl.

I go to Hive very often. The music is very good! I wanted to write a comment about the rude blonde woman bouncer and i already see many comments about her. That means either the management doesn’t care or they approve it. Either way, it’s a bad look. You are supposed to help people have fun, not ruin people’s night. If the club is empty, no one is in the queue and you still reject a person talking to you in the most normal way based on a “doubt”, you are the problem. I am not giving up on the blonde woman. I believe she can improve. I just hope what happened to me, doesn’t happen to too many people. Happiness should be cherished and protected. Peace!

Good music, terrible treatment by security. I’m giving three stars because the musical experience was excellent and the event itself was very well organized. However, the treatment I received from one of the security guards completely ruined part of my night. While I was waiting for my friends near the bathrooms, a short, bald man with a long black beard — who was clearly part of the security team — spoke to me in a very aggressive and disrespectful tone, telling me to move away as if I wasn’t a paying customer like everyone else. I wasn’t doing anything wrong. I was just standing there quietly. When I asked him why he was talking to me like that, he even threatened to throw me out. The truth is, with prices that are not exactly cheap, the least you expect is to be treated with basic respect. I felt mistreated and humiliated for no reason. It’s unfortunate that a single staff member, with such a poor attitude, can easily damage the reputation of a place that otherwise offers a great event. I hope the organizers take this kind of feedback seriously and reevaluate who they choose to represent them at the door.

The club itself is amazing – great music, awesome vibe, and a really solid setup. However, sometimes the crowd isn’t always up to the same standard. It’s a fantastic place overall, but not every guest seems to fully vibe with the energy. The atmosphere definitely has a bit of that “see and be seen” vibe, but in a cool, non-pretentious way. It’s all about enjoying the night and the music, while still looking good. Also, fur is a huge no-go here – don’t even try it. If you show up wearing fur, you’re definitely not getting in.

Google
The only techno club where it's forbidden to take the shirt out but bags can be found everywhere. The concept of freedom has not landed in Zürich 😛🇨🇭

The Hive Club is homophobic, I went there one time by myself at Pride the Door Lady didn't let me in, properly because I was alone and I don't have a look as a fag. The second time I was with a friend of mine gay men, She again didn't let me in. Unfortunately she was very arrogant. Just the way that she threated us. Thanks god there is at least Heaven Club for Gays, I never have experiences and harm that bad.

The place is a clubbing institution in Zurich. If you like electronic music and are from Zurich you have to have been here once! They have different DJs , three floors , outdoor area and a “kiosk” where you can get some after hour nibbles, a plus. People are generally having a good time. Great place to dance the night away.

Strangest experience at this bar. My friend and I asked the blonde tattooed bartender for a glass of water, and instead of just giving us one, she handed us an empty glass and told us we could get it from the toilet if we wanted. Meanwhile, there were multiple glasses of water ready for other customers right behind her. Not sure what was going on, but it felt unnecessary and rude. Hope she’s okay.. maybe she just needs some support.

Yelp
Always a good idea esp. on NYE in Zürich. It's a trip unique and shows a vibe that zürich represents

Yelp
Boring. Lame. Snoozefest. Don't write many yelp reviews, but had to call this place out. My girl and I spent 130CHF for this - we would have had a more fun time at a church recital. 4 hours of buildup... nothing backs it up.

Yelp
This was my first European nightlife experiences. It is a pretty big place and the cover was not too bad- they accept student IDs for a discount. It was hard to find at first but follow the graffiti and umbrellas and you'll be fine. The drinks were pretty expensive - though hat seemed to be the case for every price in Zurich. The only drawback to this is you need a 50 euro minimum to use a card as payment. Definitely bring cash next time. The atmosphere was pretty stereotypical. The music was blaring and you could feel the beats in your stomach. Overall the dress code was casual. Girls - you can totally wear converse and it will be cool. The bathrooms were large so you didn't have to wait too long to get past the girls taking selfies in the mirror, which is nice.

Yelp
One of the permier clubs in Zürich, Hive is a place for hard-core party-goers. This really isn't a place where you stop in for a quick shake of your tail feather before moving on, and the 30CHF entrance fee pays due to that. On weekends, the club cranks up from about 11pm onwards and goes through to midday the following day. Let's put this way, when leaving whilst the sun is up, I have still seen a queue out the front waiting to get in .... The club has two DFs, one at the bottom which plays a little harder/trancier type beats and one on the top where a bit more chilled/loungey type beats are played, but enough to still get your groove on. Expect to find most partiers a little inebriated (generally goes hand-in-hand with places that don't shut their doors at sunrise) but fair to say the atmosphere is rather friendly with everyone there to have a good time. There is a smoking area outside which at times has a bouncy castle - no further comment required. My only complaint would be the need to have more toilets. There is always a queue for the mens, which speaks for itself.

Yelp
A big plus is the 21 and over, since most clubs seemed to be 18 and over and some even younger. Being an older American going out with early twenty somethings, the under 21 places were a little bit overwhelming. If I remember correctly there were about 3 floors, the top where there was a big girls bathroom (learned to never use the bottom bathroom go to the top or else you might be waiting in line for the one stall at the bottom where 2 people might be hooking up :P) then there was another floor that was covered and uncovered for smokers and then the bottom floor that was very crowded unfortunately slightly difficult to get a drink. The music was more of a deep lounge, not really my type, but the sound system wasn't bad. The crowd was a mix of foreigners and locals. I did end up getting slightly drunk by the end of the night, but it definitely cost a decent amount, meaning the drinks weren't super expensive but they were sure weak.
