We had a lovely weekend at Hix Townhouse. We stayed in the Donovan room on the top floor with great views of the bay. The room was light, airy and very comfortable with a huge soft bed and with everything you could need. The shower very powerful. Highlight was the delicious breakfast hamper delivered to your bedroom door every morning between 8 - 8.30. Very filling and sets you up nicely for the day. I made full use of the Nespresso machine in the room, but there was also a cafetiere. Only small issue was noise from the main road and from people on the benches across the road talking late into the night, it was fairly warm so we had the windows open, but this wouldn't be a problem if it was cooler and it did quieten down after midnight.

A wonderful warm welcome to this little gem of a place in Lyme Regis. we stayed in the Sailing room, bright and welcoming with a very comfortable bed. We also had the added bonus of having a private terrace leading off the bathroom, which then led to a larger brighter terrace, perfect for an alfresco drink before dinner. The breakfast hamper is such a lovely touch, something a little different every day to look forward to. We can't wait to return again. Thankyou to all the lovely staff. 😊

Really lovely for an overnight stay and dinner at Hix's Fish House. Every room is different but I was quite happy with our choice of the Fishing Room (no. 6), as it was on the top floor and had a nice view to the cliffs and sea. Light sleepers might find it a bit noisy, but we didn't have any trouble. The decor was a good balance of elegant and quirky. The breakfast hamper was a nice touch. If you visit, definitely take time to stroll through the gardens around the corner!

Stayed here with my Mom and we loved it! Nice amenities & breakfast, very cute rooms/location, comfy beds, etc. It was exactly as pictured/described on the website and I felt the price was appropriate. Great location, walking distance from the beach & restaurants, shops, etc. Parking is up/down a hill, so just worth noting/planning if you or your travel companion have mobility issues.

Beautifully appointed - lovely shower, soaps etc. The breakfast basket is really good, we thoroughly enjoyed it. Although on a steep hill it is well positioned to access the Old Village & the Beachfront. We had a lovely stay.

The Hix is a cross between a B&B and a hotel right in the centre of Lyme, conveniently next to the garden. All the rooms are unusual and quirky. Ours, the Reading Room, was cosy with a comfortable bed and all the luxuries of a smart hotel such as gorgeous toiletries, very large towels, bath wraps and mules in the ensuite bathroom, mood lighting with lamps, teas, coffee and biscuit hospitality and a range of pay as you go bar snacks and drinks. The staff were very helpful and the breakfast hampers, special to the Hix, were a lovely way of receiving morning room service and removed the hassle of getting to a breakfast venue on time. It all helped to make the stay very relaxing and enjoyable.

Room 6 With a fishing theme. Love the concept of unique rooms and some nice touches such as dressing gowns and slippers. Similarily the breakfast hamper whilst a good idea the contents were disappointing. We stayed for 5 days and sampled 4 breakfasts. On 3 occasions there were issues with the food. We were served muffins that were under cooked and inedible, slices of banana bread undercooked in parts and one instance where fruit which should have been provided was 'forgotten'. The central location was convenient but was very noisy. I appreciate the external noise is not something the management can be responsible for but its worth mentioning as perhaps rooms at the back may be quieter. I don't think the accomodation and services merited the prices charged. No complaints about the staff who were there during our stay as they were very helpful. Overall however only worthy of an average rating.

Very comfortable appartment rooms with interesting themes. The large ground floor apartment had a large sitting room with a hunting theme. The first floor apartment with a terrace had a nautical theme. Breakfast was provided in the room in a hamper. There was also alcoholic drinks and snacks provided in the room and although tea and coffee are complementary you might want to check the price list before indulging in the drinks and snacks.
