Hjortviken Country Club

We stayed at Hjortviken for our wedding anniversary! It is so beautiful and we had a lovely afternoon chilling by the pool with some very delicious cocktails. Then we had an amazing dinner in the Bay Bay restaurant! The head waiter was so knowlegable and funny at the same time. Then we spent the evening in the bar, playing shuffelbord, darts etc! One of the bar staff treated us to bubble to celebrate our anniversary, was a really nice touch! After a great sleep in the comfortable bed, we had an early breakfast before we reluctantly checked out to go to work! We both said we would love to come back for a longer stay.

We stayed at Hjortviken and had a great time overall. The place has a lively atmosphere—definitely more of a social and energetic vibe than a quiet retreat. It’s good for couples, but probably even better suited for a group of friends looking for a fun getaway. The service was excellent throughout our stay, and the restaurants on site were surprisingly good. We didn’t try the Spanish-themed experience, so can’t comment on that, but everything else lived up to expectations. All in all, we were happy with our stay and would consider coming back, especially with a group.

Such beautiful design at super reasonable cost. Service is also amazing. Was able to bring my dog. Would have extended stay if my schedule allowed.

Hjortviken truly gave me one of the most memorable experiences I’ve had in a long time. From the moment I arrived, it felt like I was stepping into peace—surrounded by nature and wrapped in calm energy. But beyond the beautiful setting, it was everything inside that made it unforgettable. The pools were next level—clean, warm, and just what you need to fully unwind. Whether it was an early morning dip or a late-night float, they added a whole new layer to the stay. And then there was the hotspot room—massive shoutout to Bill for the invite to that party. That night was a proper vibe, filled with good energy, good people, and a setting that made it feel like a dream. The staff? Incredible. From the friendly welcome to the way they looked after everyone with genuine care, they really brought a personal touch to the whole experience. You can tell they love where they work, and it shines through in how they treat guests. And the breakfast buffet? That spread had everything. Fresh, high-quality, and perfectly laid out. You could tell it was made with care, and it honestly set the tone for the rest of the day. If you’re thinking of escaping your routine, Hjortviken is more than just a getaway—it’s a place that grounds you, uplifts you, and leaves you already planning your next visit.

To start, very nice and various food options in the restaurant offered for guests. The portion is very good. The taste was always fresh and good quality. Shortly, breakfast, lunch and dinner are served in the best way and everything tastes very fresh. So many experiences in this resort area such as outdoor and indoor pool, billiard, gym and many more. This place is definitely one of the best and closest to Gothenburg. It is totally recommended to spend some time here and enjoy the vibe, activities and the food.

Nice destination at country side. Newly renovated, room and common areas are very nice. Food is average booth in tapas restaurant and in the club room. Tried a toast skagen home made with good taste but unfortuantly small machine cleansed shrimps. waited 40 min for a sallad in the pool area. Wine in glass at served with lowest possibly amount. Seems like the investors are trying to maximize profit on everything to recover investment.

We loved our stay at Hjortviken Country Club! The decor, the service, the pools, spa... ALL the amenities were incredible and we left feeling completely rejuvenated. We tried several dishes from The Club Room’s dinner menu, including the oysters, venison meatballs, and the crème brûlée. Everything was excellent. The breakfast buffet? SATISFYING! After spending time in the city (only 20 minutes away), this countryside escape was exactly what we needed!

Although its tough to get by the noveau riche profile of Hjortviken, once you do there's no question it is a magnificent way to spend a weekend or date night. The rooms were standard, but very clean and well designed. The service and food was also fantastic. However, it is the pool/lounge areas that are Hjortviken's strength. You can't help but start moving your head to the lounge house, eyes darting after the closest bartender.
