HM Balanguera

We stayed for one night during winter. The hotel offers great breakfast, a baby bed for free and the service is great. Indeed it was noisy at night due to the street, but for us it was totally fine. Walking distance (20 min) to the city center and a free luggage room.

The hotel’s overall design is very beautiful and the environment is spotless. The front desk staff are extremely friendly and always willing to help. I stayed in a single room, which was surprisingly spacious and excellent! Breakfast was decent, with at least some hot food available. The rooftop pool is quite small with limited seating, which is a bit of a pity. The location is about a 12–15 minute walk to the city center. Soundproofing in the rooms isn’t great, so I’d recommend bringing earplugs. Overall, a very satisfying stay!

At first glance, HM Balanguera presents itself with a chic, contemporary design that suggests a boutique hotel experience. The interiors are styled with intention, and the aesthetic is one of the property’s strongest qualities. However, beneath the visual appeal lies a significant flaw: a pervasive odor that lingers throughout the building. Initially I wondered if it was simply a matter of personal sensitivity, but when my travel companion independently remarked on the same unpleasant scent—something between worn carpeting and overused cleaning agents—it confirmed that this was more than a passing detail. Service, while courteous, falls short of true four-star standards. Staff are friendly when approached, but the level of attentiveness is closer to that of a busy airport hotel, where efficiency takes precedence over personalized care. In a hotel of this caliber, guests should expect to be greeted at the door, assisted with luggage without hesitation, and guided through a seamless arrival experience. Here, those touches were absent. Location, while somewhat secondary to the guest experience, would be far less concerning if the fundamentals were in place. Replacing old rugs, addressing cleanliness issues, and raising the service standard would significantly elevate the property. A hotel aspiring to four-star distinction cannot overlook the essentials: pristine interiors, an inviting atmosphere free of odors, and staff who anticipate needs rather than simply respond. Until these core concerns are addressed, HM Balanguera remains a property of style over substance—pleasing to the eye, but ultimately disappointing in execution.

Lovely small boutique hotel with a nice rooftop area and pool (not heated) the drinks are very reasonably priced. ||Great selection for breakfast and staff very attentive and friendly.||I wouldnt recommend booking the room with a terrace as the view is not pleasing. Although the room itself is very nice. Overall we had a lovely stay.

Had a fantastic time at HM Balanguera. I stayed for 4 nights as a solo traveller and I couldn’t recommend this hotel enough. Not only is the decor and the hotel itself beautiful, it’s super clean, the food was always delicious, it’s in the perfect location to explore all of Palma, and the staff were great! Sebas in particular, who worked the evening shift, was always so welcoming and friendly when you came in from a busy day - plus great with advice on Palma and Mallorca. I’ll definitely be back to this hotel and would recommend it to everyone.

Good location. Only problem we didn’t foresee is that we rented a car for our trip but forgot to check if parking is included. It was almost impossible to find a park spot on street the first night since we had no clue about the city and its streets. However, reception kindly told us to park at their sister hotels.

We were on holiday in Alcudia but took this hotel from Palma for one night. It was very suitable for this purpose. A bit of a walk to the old town but doable. Roof terrace with a small swimming pool (large enough for hanging out, not swimming) a very nice place to sit when visiting the hotel, example with a beer. The room and hotel are of a good basic standard. Clean and everything worked. Breakfast has everything you need.

Although a little out of Palma centre, it was only a 20 minute walk away so very good. The hotel was lovely and clean, with very nice rooms (only recommended addition would be tea/coffee making facility in the room).

A different branded concept hotel with lots of unique decor both regarding rooms and other spaces. The overall impression is minimalistic fanciness with a touch of nature which creates a cool atmosphere. They have a rooftop upstairs with a couple of lounge chairs and sofas, and although its nice, its a very small area and it feels like its more for the looks. Breakfast downstairs is included and it provides you with enough varieties which will satisfy most ppl, with fresh fruits, scrambled eggs and yogurt. For the hungry one, its also possible to have fresh made omelettes by request. Staff is very friendly and can speak English if you dont want feel like improving your Spanish skills. Wifi didnt work in my room due to some kind of issue, but lobby worked fine. If you dont need a prime location and dont mind a stroll down to the sea. This might be a good option providing great value.
