The Ho Chi Minh City Book Street is one of my favorite spots in Saigon — a peaceful escape for book lovers right in the heart of the city. This charming street is lined with independent bookstores, vintage book stalls, and cozy cafés that invite you to slow down and enjoy the atmosphere. You can find everything from classic Vietnamese literature to English-language novels, travel books, and unique local art prints. What makes it special is the friendly, laid-back vibe — the shopkeepers give you space to browse freely, and you can easily spend an afternoon wandering between shelves and sipping iced coffee under the trees. It’s also a great place for photography, thanks to its colorful storefronts and creative decorations. Whether you’re a tourist or a local, this is a must-visit destination to experience the intellectual and artistic side of Ho Chi Minh City — a true paradise for readers and dreamers alike.

A 100-meter-long lane running from Nguyễn Văn Bình Street to the iconic Notre-Dame Cathedral Basilica. Lined with trees, flowers, and benches, it offers a quiet, literary-focused escape. · Bookshops: Houses about 20 permanent bookstalls and shops offering a wide range: new Vietnamese literature, translated classics, academic texts, foreign-language books, comics, and beautiful postcards. · Café Culture: Interspersed with cozy cafés and juice bars where you can sit, read your new purchase, and watch the world go by. · Cultural Hub: Often hosts book launches, author signings, calligraphy exhibitions, and literary events, especially on weekends. · Architecture: Features some well-preserved French colonial-era villas that house the bookshops, adding to its picturesque feel. Visitor Experience: It's less about finding rare bargains and more about the experience of browsing in a serene, dedicated space. It's perfect for a slow 30-60 minute stroll, picking up a souvenir book, enjoying a coffee, and soaking in the intellectual and artistic vibe. It's a must-visit for book lovers and a pleasant stop for anyone exploring the city's central sights. Near to Saigon Post office and Norte Dame cathedral.

ho chi minh city book street is lowkey a whole vibe tucked away in district 1. this pedestrian-only lane is an good place for book lovers, with its charming french colonial buildings housing everything from indie publishers to cozy cafes. the aesthetic is total eye candy. lush greenery, strings of fairy lights, and rows of bookshelves that make you feel like you've stepped into a literary dream. it's the perfect spot to post up with a new read, people-watch, or just soak in the quiet creative energy. they often host book launches and art events, so there's always something fresh popping off. no cap, this place hits different when you need a peaceful escape from the saigon chaos. don't forget to ❤️.

Book Street is located just next to the Central Post Office… a unique street with a different atmosphere. There are little book stores in a whole street. Also you will find a few cafes. You can read books in these cafés. and spend a good time. No vehicles are allowed inside the street. Walk along the street and enjoy the atmosphere.

Great place to visit for both tourists and locals. It’s not a long street, but perfect for a quick walk and enjoying the unique, traditional-style book street. No motorbikes or cars, completely walk-only, which I love. A quiet little spot right in the busy city center. There are a few cafés too, where you can sit, relax, and people-watch.

Such a lovely and relaxing spot in HCMC. Book Street has a calm, artsy vibe that feels like a little escape from the busy city. There are plenty of bookstores, cafés, and small creative stalls to explore. I’d highly recommend getting your portrait done here. it’s a fun experience and a really unique souvenir to take home (it does require about an hour if you want a colored portrait so make sure you have it done first, then explore other neabry landmarks if you want to). Definitely worth a visit if you’re around the area.

Ho Chi Minh City Book Street is a highlight of our trip. So many book stores, artists, and coffee shops. It has a very laid back vibe and we did not experience any high pressure sales tactics. Looking through the books was fun and kid friendly. We enjoyed seeing the Vietnamese language in print and they had some books that had both Vietnamese and English. What a great way to learn the language.

A hidden gem next to the Saigon Post Office Right beside the Saigon Post Office, you'll find this charming book street that's honestly such a pleasant surprise. It's a short alley packed with bookstores, cafes, art shops, and toy stores - something for everyone regardless of age. Even though the street isn't very long, you'll want to stop at every single shop. There's so much to see - books from local and international publishers, notebooks, sketchbooks, and all kinds of art. One thing that really caught my eye was the paper art cards. They're super unique and would make perfect gifts. The cafes along the street are great for taking a break. Grab a coffee or juice, have a snack, and just people-watch. There are also benches scattered throughout if you need to rest your feet. Each store has its own personality, so take your time and pay attention to the small details. You'll definitely find something special. It's also an excellent spot to pick up souvenirs that aren't the typical tourist stuff. If you enjoy browsing books, art, and cozy street vibes, don't skip this place. You'll fall in love with it.
