I stayed at the hostel for 2 nights with my best friend (both 17 female) and while the condition of the room was alright and the staff was friendly, we felt very unsafe and we urge young girls to not stay at this hostel!! The first night we wanted to get food just down the road by the metro station and we have both never felt as unsafe as during that short trip. The street was crowded with men looking and making remarks and we were the only girls, feeling extremely sexualized and unsafe. I’ve never experienced something like this but the entire road to the metro is the definition of a girl’s nightmare. We clutched our bags and tried not to make eye contact with anyone, feeling helpless. That night we researched and found out that the area around Guillotière (where the hostel is located) is considered Lyon’s unsafest area and is on top of that known for drug dealers.‼️ We had to use public transportation so the next morning when we went back to the metro the place was still FULL of men harassing us. (Look at attached picture) We came home very early that evening because we felt so unsafe and spent the night in and talked to multiple other girls that experienced the EXACT SAME. The most shocking thing was that the lady working there told us she ALSO felt uncomfortable and knows about the problem. This showed us that the hostel deliberately chooses not to tell guests about the issue. During our second night I heard two gun shots right by the hostel and we were relieved when we left after 2 night. We wouldn’t recommend this hostel to anyone, especially if you are a girl, the area is just too dangerous and you will feel on edge leaving the hostel!!

My flight was delayed coming into Lyon so I missed all transports home to Dijon and had to stay in Lyon that night - despite the circumstances I found this hostel very inviting and have no complaints. The beds are very sturdy wooden bunk beds, I stayed in a women's dorm and it required using the key card 3 times (3 doors) so it felt quite safe. The bathrooms are small, but clean and properly equipped. The building is old so small bathrooms/no elevator are only to be expected. The bar/breakfast room has a nice vibe and after I arrived I could sit there to basically just drink some water and figure out my transports for over an hour without feeling pressured to buy something. The staff were very friendly and had no problem speaking English with me in the morning when I was too tired for French. I arrived late at night on a Sunday and I did find that there was a lot of men just hanging out around the streets but I didn't feel unsafe any more than being in an unfamiliar city at night - maybe other guests report worse situations because it was a different night of the week? I found the actual street of the hostel very quiet. I would recommend this place if you need somewhere to stay in Lyon

Hostel is pretty decent. I like the style and cleanliness. The location isn’t ideal as the street is quite loud at night and lots of litter around but it’s close to the river. Rooms were spacious but beds lacked privacy curtains. Bathrooms are clean but I found the shower temperature drastically changes randomly.

Good hostel! Clean rooms and reasonably priced. Had a surprisingly delicious pork dish in the restaurant they have. Bring a pad lock as the bunks have lockable storage below each bed. Very handy. Electronic key cards as well which makes things easy and safe!

The heat in the hostel was almost unbearable. The only fans available were tiny ones that you get from reception, that do not reach top bunks at all. The staff were also reluctant to provide us with a fan when asked. There was also a serious mosquito problem, and because of the heat, we had to keep the windows open, which made it worse. Location was not ideal; very noisy outside and an unsafe and distant walk to the city centre. Staff were sometimes helpful but not very friendly or willing to help at times. Sometimes felt that we were imposing when asking for assistance. One of the showers was also not working. Overall, my friends and I would not return.

Quiet neat and budget friendly rooms. Bunk beds are clean with storage space. Bathrooms are sufficient for a quick bath though it's not properly ventilated. Loved the ambience in the ground floor cafe/bar.

Simple overnight between Spain and Germany, Easy checkin, great breakfast, lovely staff, upbeat, eclectic vibe, some rooms have nice views of neighborhood church. Street parking often available.
