Excellent campsite. Facilities are described as basic, however, there are showers which were spotless, a washing up area, again spotless and the toilets very clean. No site shop or electric hookup, so that's maybe why it's described as basic, true camping I'd call it. Views over coniston water fantastic. Will be going again.

A good campsite with amazing views. A group of us went a few weeks back and although we had to cut the weekend short because of the weather it still didn't stop us enjoying the time we did spend there. The showers are amazing and it's a pleasant walk into Coniston. Also you are right on the edge of the lake so can easily jump in some kayaks and head off on adventures. Great campsite and the team were all really friendly

A bit hilly, so on busy times its a bit of a struggle to find a flat pitching spot. Staff very friendly. Toilets can get busy, showers big, free and water hot. Campsite is Not too far from coniston water lake. Has Easy access to old man of coniston and also cumbria way national trail. Closest walking distance pub is wilsons arms (👎🏼), instead go to ship inn. Its a bit of walk, but its mostly by the water, so not too bad. Campsite allows dogs and fire pits. Would come back for sure

Great site. Clean showers etc. Great wardens, friendly and helpful. Good access to the lake and a short lakeside walk to Coniston. Good pub nearby The Wilson Arms.

Basic campsite, not too big toilets, three showers, basic shop with limited hours. Run by the National Trust, so not manned all the time. Cheapish rates, currently £6 per pitch plus £6 for additional adults. Great location a short walk from the lake, and a longer but easy stagger back from the pubs in Coniston village. Might be a midge problem in the summer being close to the lake, but can't confirm that.

A basic but quiet site. Has loo’s, showers and a washing up area. Short walk down to the lake, and Coniston is walkable too. Can get a little boggy after rain, so don’t get the car stuck.

This is a great place with beautiful views over Lake Coniston! It's a rather undulating site with flat areas but lots of space due to the fact that the National Trust limit the number of tents. The toilets are always kept clean and the showers have plenty of hot water. Lots of campers come with kayaks or stand up paddle boards which are launched from the bottom of the site straight onto Lake Coniston. There isn't a warden permanently on site but staff are often about, keep the facilities clean and are happy to help out if you need anything. We'll definitely be back next year!

Really enjoyed this space. The showers were nice and clean, toilets were in good condition and kept regularly supplied with TP, soap, and paper towels. Washing up space was tidy. It was a bit of a schlep to the water from the camping area, so you might plan to drive to the bottom of the site if you need to put in. But there was plenty of space to leave a car and the bank was lovely and easy to launch. The ground was a bit boggy at the campsite so campervans were all getting stuck (just something to be aware of if it's been raining). The national Trust folk were over the top nice and accommodating, even fixing tents that were succombing to the weather when the owners couldn't be found.
