They were fantastic. We came off the GDMBR in Jackson and needed a bike shop to box and shop our 3 bikes. Had no issues. They were quick and kind. We dropped them off and were out in 20 min. Also, they have an amazing selection of gear and bikes! Big store. (Jackson is lucky to have them!)

Google
We rented a couple of bikes here for a day and had such a great service. They made sure the seats were right for our height and comfort, and included additional accessories with the rental such as a helmet and lock with no additional fees. Even though one of the bike pedals came off, they came right away to the rescue, fixed it and ensured everything else was working fine. No issues afterwards and honestly the bikes were of great quality which helped us enjoy our visit. Truly recommend renting from them. They have a huge parking lot so you can leave your car there and start your ride.

Google
We had a great cycle but limited explanation on where to go and my dad’s bike kept slipping down and they didn’t provide us with an allan key and so he has really hurt his knee. Once we got back to the shop we let them know of this and they didn’t offer any sort of partial refund. Great bikes but bad customer experience when push came to shove.

Google
Service was amazing!! We rented 3 pavement bikes from here for 4 hrs at $50 each. As we we biked away, my husbands gear shift lever fell off. We brought it back in, they got us a new bike, and said “ok your time starts now!” 🤣 There weren’t enough gears on any of the bikes. I had to pedal so hard just to stay upright when going uphill, and my husband was fine uphill, but on a downhill he couldn’t go as fast as I could.

Google
Excellent rental and advice. I really enjoyed taking this road bike out to Jenny Lake and Teton Village. The free bus ride back was slow but worth it to explore more.

Tracey Lloyd

Google
ALL STAFF friendly!!! Knowledgeable and explained everything necessary. Rented a couple of regular bikes for the day. Good price!!! Would definitely rent from them again. The store had a lot of great merchandise also. Very clean and open. Couldn’t beat a blue bird day with a bike ride. Thanks guys!

Google
This is our second time renting bicycles from Hoback. Each time has been exceptional. The service was amazing and helpful. The bikes were top notch and well maintained. If you are visiting Jackson Hole WY, stop by and pay a visit to Hoback!

Needed help adjusting my bike. Pat was awesome! Patient and informative. Thanks for taking care of locals!

Yelp
Great day! Our crew of 10 rented E-bikes for the day and road about 40 miles. The techs who got us all fitted were well prepared and gave us a quick lesson and suggested paths. They had us on our way in about 15 minutes. We highly recommend Hoback Sports!

Jojo K.

Yelp
Definitely worth a trip for the selection and prices and it's only ever since lately out of downtown. However, still on the way to everything. Easy parking and excellent staff.

Tom G.

Yelp
Very excellent technically challenging (and reasonably priced) diagnostics and repair to my S-Works E-bike motor controls were quickly done this Sunday morning by totally knowledgeable bike mechanic at Hoback Sports. This saved me possibly having to ship my E-bike back to the Specialized factory. He also installed new chain which they had in stock. Five-plus stars. Thank you JHMR and Hoback Sports. Tom G.

Matt M.

Yelp
Should be zero stars. Tried to buy goggles for our Christmas trip. Cash registers don't work. No one knows how to ring up anything correctly. Wasted our time. Was told by the worker to go somewhere else. I would take their advice and shop elsewhere, they were not concerned about their customers at all.

Steve E.

Yelp
Customer service is horrible Steve the manager seems to have a real chip on his shoulder. We will not be spending our hard earned money there ever again.

Yelp
Came here to demo some snowboards. Matt was super helpful and knowledgeable. I'm a beat-up grey beard lazy rider. Matt took the time to talk to me about all the boards and what would suit my boomer style the most. Tried a few boards, picked an awesome one (20% sale!) and rode off into the sunset. Pretty clutch that they have a sister store by Bridger gondola so you can switch demo boards during the day. 100% recommend this shop.

Yelp
[1052] 12/2019 We used Hoback Sports to rent our ski equipment. The process was easy and quick. Definitely a time saver compared to getting it on the mountain. Plenty of friendly staff to help. Someone waiting by the front door was a plus as I was struggling to return the multiple times. The store has a large selection of winter clothing, hats, gloves and coats to choose from for all family members. You can order from here and pick up/drop off ski equipment on the mountain which is a plus as it's cheaper and we will be taking the bus. We will definitely use them again

Mike M.

Yelp
I came into 'Hoback' for a gravel bike rental as needed to do the Grand Teton Picnic Triathlon. Shout out to Matt for taking care of prepping the bike and assuring all was in good order to complete the event. Highly recommend using this facility as all staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Thank you for your efforts!!

Yelp
I came in to get my board waxed and decided to look around at some other boards. Toby talked me through some boards and was helpful and insightful and we landed on having me demo a Jones dual mountain. Hoback also has a pretty cool 20% deal going on for boards and bindings if you demo them so I was convinced. What i didn't realize when i walked away with that board was how beaten up the edges were. On my first run with this board, I was on my toe edge and it slipped out and I fell pretty hard making my shoulder and head hurt. There was another run where the heel edge completely slipped out from me in a scenario that I have done many times on my other two boards without the same issue. This really made me timid the rest of the day as I felt the edge with my finger and it was jagged at some parts. If that board would have been in a better scenario and given me an awesome day on the mountain I would've been walking out with a new board, bindings, and bag from that shop. I was also surprised to see that my own board had a wax dripping on the top of the board and over the edge.

Yelp
Check their prices before renting! I was excited to rent a road bike from Hoback Sports to ride in Grand Teton park. They were charging $59 for a 3 hr rental or $69 for a full day. No thank you. I feel like they are taking advantage of tourists with those prices. Not cool. I was able to find another bike shop just across the street charging a much more reasonable $39 for the full day.

Yelp
I like the shop in general as a whole. The staff they have is knowledgeable & won't push yourself to get something that outside of your needs. Secondly, when I had a mountain bike tune up recently, it was not 100% finished & slipped through the cracks. They took care of it immediately & made sure to correct that error going back through my bike ASAP. Nobody is perfect, but the bike shop wanted to make sure to keep their customers happy. This has been my shop for a while now for both my winter & summer needs. That's why I like this shop, they're knowledgeable, do a job to what I want & if something is done correctly they'll fix that error to make sure it is. Trust is a huge thing know & I trust their wisdom of their staff. I'm glad they took care of my little problem as soon possible, my bike is riding perfectly now. It's one thing to do the work, but it's another to make sure they keep all their future business. I'm not planning on changing shops anytime soon.

Yelp
Had a very positive experience with renting bikes from Hoback Sports. Was able to book online to reserve in advance. When we arrived, the process of signing our waivers and getting the bikes was quick and painless. The staff was helpful in ensuring the rental process was efficient and adjusting our bikes. The bikes themselves were perfect for the Pathways riding we did.
google avatar

Yelp
Had an efficient experience here at Hoback for pathway bike rentals at the last minute. After conducting some research the day of, we decided to place a call to get real time information on availability. We were pleasantly surprised that on the last day that Teton's gates were closed to vehicles, that bikes were still available. We were helped quickly after briefly registering on the convenient computer system, then an employee got us fitted and checked out. The employee that helped us was patient with our lack of specific knowledge about what bikes we might need, and pointed us in the right direction. Within 15 minutes we were on our way to the park. The bikes performed well, and we were able to ride our little hearts out with no issues. Thank you Hoback!

Lazari O.

Yelp
Left the car in the parking and when came back got a ticket for parking, nice job with customer service! Now have to pay 100$ extra for parking not only for their crazy prices!

Yelp
The people were friendly and super helpful when I went to buy a new mountain bike there, especially Pat, who took a lot of time dialing in the shocks and seat post, etc. He went the extra mile to make sure I found the right bike for me and to get it set up correctly when I bought it. They also have a great selection of bikes from top brands like Specialized, Trek, Santa Cruz, etc. and a huge assortment of clothing and other accessories. GO there!

Kevin H.

Yelp
The staff were awesome. It was the first time we wrote e-bikes and they answered our questions before and after the bike ride. We were testing out e-bikes that they rent and they were able to answer our questions about the differences in the bikes, how to work the electronics, distances we could travel, how to get the most out of the bike, etc. They even help us decide on a route to go to get the most in for the day. The rental was well worth the cost. We ride regularly so we were not saddle sore after the ride and we were glad we did have e-bikes after the ride. After our ride they entertained question about maintaining them, cost, and other questions we had after a 44 mile bike ride.

Yelp
This place was fantastic and the guys that work there are super helpful. If you find yourself in Jackson in the winter, you quickly discover that the town does not fully shovel snow and ice. The whole town is coated in inches of ice everywhere. Walking around is a challenge even in hiking boots that have a lot of grip on them. I stopped by and bought some yak trax from Hoback, and within a minute they had them on my hiking boots and I was purchasing them. I stopped in a few days later to rent cross country skis and I was in and out in 15 minutes. I can't say enough good stuff about the staff. If you need to rent or purchase outdoor gear, this is the place to go.
google avatar

Kirsten H.

Yelp
We rented bikes from this shop on a mid-May weekend and they made the process very easy. For two days on two bikes, it ran about $225 or so. The bikes were great, the helmet and locks were complimentary, and the checkout process was only 5 or so minutes.

Yelp
We had a great experience here. We needed to tune two pair of skis and Mrs G tried a pair of demo skis. The service is friendly and knowledgeable. One of the reasons I chose to get our equipment work done here is that we arrived late on a Sunday. The tune up was ready early Monday for a knee deep snowfall.

M C.

Yelp
I had an absolutely terrible experience the 3 separate trips I made to this store and regretted it every single time. First off, waited forever to be helped with fittings for skis. They were not helpful and did not ask questions on what I would need. My second trip to return rentals early was an absolute mess. I rented for five days which they said they would refund if I didn't use it all. When I went to return they said they'd only be issuing 8 dollars for the four days I wasn't using even though I paid over 300 for the rental upfront. My third trip I dealt with Don who was an absolute jerk and the nail in the coffin for me. I have never dealt with such terrible customer service in my life. He had an attitude the entire experience and even talked back to me a couple times even as I told him I appreciated his help. In all, I'm truly disappointed in the experience I had at hoback sports. I've been coming to Wyoming for the past 30 years bringing friends and taking them here to rent their gear but this will be the absolute last. I work in the hospitality industry and I can't imagine ever treating someone with this disrespect. Every person I was with had a bad experience and that's not what the community of Jackson hole is all about.

Yelp
i ski with an old pair of boot but love them. the replaceable heel wedge had worn down and there were no new ones to be found. i looked everywhere form boot company to ski good ski shops i've frequented for many years. no luck . no where. i stopped in at Hoback Sports which is further away but they have helped before. the people there were great. "we've got tons of old stuff back there. let me look." he was gone a good while rooting around back there but, when he came back my boots were rescued. next season when i do get new boots, you already know where i will go. thanks and well done to the Hoback team.

Yelp
My brakes on old disc brake giant were stuck since not riding since last fall. Stopped at hoback, and because of Covid, talked to door greeter. Asked if they can bleed and are the a few weeks out in repairs. He was nice but said you just have to bring it in. So I did same day. Waited out front again and then told to take around to side...again Covid. No prob. Waited for an unmasked guy on a bike to talk the repair guys ear off and they agreed they would clean out front fork on his bike and pick up tomorrow. Two more customers then me. My turn. Guy says "old bike, known problem with avid brakes, bleed likely won't work, hold on a second". I wait, brings out one brake (for downhill bike) with $249 on box says not the best for this type of bike. Says two weeks out anyway so call around to other shops and if no one can help, come back... Likely $350-400 with labor I guess. Look up on you tube. Known issue. Easy fix, need 2mm hex head. Don't have. At 425pm today, I call Wilson backcountry and Andy answers. He owns it with his wife and I have talked to them before while coffee at pearl street. He says bring it in. What time do you close. At 5pm, oh it's close to 5. Bring it over. He remembers my name from phone. Says let my guy take a quick look. 10 mins later, he says it's fixed. I say how much. He says $10. I say all I have is a $20, give the other $10 to the mechanic. He says thanks, I will throw it in our beer fund. Made my day. What a great way to do business Wilson Backcountry. Customer for life...because he is a problem solve and an interested in helping 1st and worrying about the cash 2nd. No wonder everyone loves this place. No disrespect Hoback. Wilson outdid you by 100x.

Yelp
Great sport shop. Went for ski accessories and GoPro stick. They were very friendly and helped me find what I was looking for.

Lori D.

Yelp
We ordered 2 specialized bikes from Specialized. They were sent to Hoback since they are a Specialized dealer. Customer service was terrible. They were supposed to make sure bikes were in working order and help adjust them. There was NO help in adjusting our seats/handlebars. We got our bikes home and one is stuck in trail mode. When we called they were very short on the phone and basically said it was a warranty issue. Wish we had spent $500 in helmets at our local shop!
google avatar

Yelp
Visiting for two weeks and the day before we were suppose to drive home, my key broke off on my Thule cargo room rack. Two guys helped look for spare keys in the store, and further took time to look for anything even close. We were desperate. After 15 minutes the manager came out with a key and it worked. Sold us it for $5 and we were good to go! They literally saved us and our stuff, getting home!

James S.

Yelp
I rented skis online the night before and the next day I went to pick them up the shop couldn't provide me with my preferred ski length or boot size. In all honesty the shop tech said if they felt uncomfortable I could go to an on mountain rental shop at JacksonHole and exchange them... but when it's a busy day and you only have a half day ticket at Jackson you don't want to spend more time in the rental shops when you only have so much time to ski. Friendly staff, neat shop, they just couldn't deliver the goods lesson learned. If you take the time to come to Jackson and you spend the money to ski it, go the extra dollar and bring your own gear. It's a crazy steep mountain and you're gonna want something you're use to skiing under your feet.

Yelp
Hoback was AWESOME for bike rentals!! So helpful when we showed up in the morning with 3 kids under 5 years old. At the end of the day our kids were, well very tired young kids and started the meltdown. Matt in the bike rental department was so nice to reach out to his manager to see if he could come pick the bikes up for us instead of us having to return them and then walk 1/5 mile in the rain back to our Motorhome:) Thank YOU Matt!!! Thank you Hoback Sports!! You guys are doing it right, we will be back again.

Yelp
This place is awesome. I've worked (ages ago) in both a bike shop and outdoor gear store so I have some experience on the employee side as well. This place had zero pretension, decent selection, nice organization, average prices (in the Internet age), and awesome people. The staff make the store. Visiting JH for a few days I was expecting to find some anti-tourist attitude. They didn't talk down to me and never underestimated my experience. (Someone newer to biking might not like this as they might feel like a lot of information was excluded) I rented a Santa Cruz Tall Boy AL (they had the carbon available for additional daily cost) and they dialed it into my weight on the spot. They have me some tips to awesome trails that a local buddy corroborated. Super cool staff and a gear head could spend a couple hours just admiring the gear.

Yelp
EXCELLENT BUSINESS! Brad is really THE man. I came in with a disaster of a bike that broke on the trails. He was able to assess the issue and find a solution almost immediately. I came in later in the afternoon (4-5 o'clock) so I didn't expect to get my bike back that day but I got a call early the next morning from brad himself that my bike was ready. Not only did he fix my mess, but he made a few recommendations that were definitely necessary to get/keep my bike running top notch. But almost as awesome as the service that Brad provided was the price. Another bike shop in town said that it would take a week and a half to get my bike fixed and would cost more than TRIPLE what Hoback Sports charged me. Every single employee was friendly and helpful. I really enjoyed coming into this shop while visiting the Grand Tetons. Thanks again Brad!
google avatar

Kristie R.

Yelp
This place is the best, it has the friendliest employees. The rental manager Connor was incredibly kind and helpful with my mountain bike rental. I went with my brother and my mom, my mom is brand new to mountain biking and my brother is very advanced. Connor made sure we knew how to use our bikes and even gave us great trail recommendations. 10/10 would recommend!

Yelp
Years ago I was a fairly regular customer but my recent experience was renting Fatbikes. On the positive side they had enough stock on a short term notice to support our needs. They were friendly and responsive in person as well as over the phone. Now for the cautions. I asked the service rep about the conditions of the trails in the area. The most they had to offer was "well cache creek was good last week" and when I asked about ditch creek they didn't seem to even know that it was a fatbike destination. Before I left they asked me to avoid riding on roads because it made it hard on *them* to clean up the bike. This signals that they care most about their effort and not my experience - but also foreshadowed my real issue with renting bikes from them which was the condition of their bikes and their attitude about it. I should have known when I put my water bottle in the cage and noticed it was bent and loose that they aren't concerned about the condition of their bikes. Once I got on the trail I found the gearing to be completely out of tune. I tried to fix it myself on the trail and was able to get some of the gears back but it was still choppy and frustrating. After 4 hours of riding I returned the bikes and informed the service rep (different rep than when picking up the bikes) of the gearing issue and he acted like it was no surprise and even said, "yeah, parts are expensive what can I say?" I received neither an apology for the poor experience, any expression of concern over what could be real safety issues nor appreciation for informing them of the issue. Very disappointing. If you are interested in renting Fatbikes in Jackson I recommend looking elsewhere. Next time I'll be looking to rent from a company that provides guide services with Fatbikes as they are generally more knowledgable and have shown more concern for their gear and their customers' experiences.

Yelp
Friendly, efficient, fitted a big party of 7 perfectly! Downhill, snow shoes cross country, and snow gear at reasonable prices! Thank you!

Debbie P.

Yelp
This bike shop is terrible. I know it is their busy season. They told me it would be a week to fix my flat tire and check my gears. I call a week later, they tell me I'm 5 bikes back. I call 2 days later and I'm 4 bikes back, Adam in service could not give me a reason for this but did say other bikes were not put in front of mine. I told him not to touch my bike, he proceeded to hang up on me. I go in to get my bike. Talk to a manager, Steve, he can't really help, goes to get Adam and never comes out. We took my bike and left, Terrible service. Would not spend a penny in this store.

Yelp
Visiting Jackson Hole for 2 days and wanted to take a family bike ride. We rented 4 bikes and biked from Jackson to Teton Village. Loved the option to leave bikes in the Village or bike back.Super friendly and helpful staff!

Yelp
Had my skis serviced - remounted and waxed. Boots also punched out. They did a good job and they had a quick turnover. Remount was done by evening after an afternoon drop-off and skis were dropped off late evening for a wax which were ready by 8am the next morning. Well-stocked. Friendly. Really had every random thing I needed. Highly recommend.

Yelp
While on a snowboard trip to Jackson Hole my nephew hit a rock and got a pretty gnarly gouge on his base (nearly a core shot). We ended up at Hoback Sports. The guy in the repair shop was great and the turnaround on filling the gouge with ptex sanding it then waxing the board was early the next morning. Stoked. Cost $27 The rest of the shop looked on point for a board / ski / cycle shop. Lot's of sales going on being nearly springtime to clear out product. I took one star away for the retail customer service side of the store. When I was looking around, no one tried to help. Even though I was clearly digging through stuff looking for my size and there were employees all around.
google avatar

Yelp
Rented a bike from Hoback and was extremely satisfied. They have Santa Cruz and Specialized in their MTB rental and demo fleet. I went with a demo for $10 more, for the carbon frame and dropper post. "Full day" rental is 24-hours so it worked well for me to pick it up midday. I was able to get an afternoon XC ride in, some laps at the bike park, then another big ride the following morning! Claire in the bike department was knowledgeable and served me well. She did an awesome job getting the bike dialed in to where I needed it. Very satisfied. :)

Lucy C.

Yelp
Had a great experience at Hoback sports! Super efficient. Also appreciate the thorough protocols they are continuing to practice with COVID 19. Connor was a huge help to me renting a mountain bike. He's also cool. Would go again!

Yelp
The guys at Hoback Sports saved me from a really rough week in the backcountry! I had a tail clip on my splitboard break the day before a 3-day backcountry tour. I came into Hoback Sports just before they closed and even though they didn't care the exact part I had lost, the guys there were able to work out a quick fix with a slightly different part! Thanks so much!

Alex M.

Yelp
Not the place to rent ski gear. I came in on a Saturday morning to rent some winter sports gear, and the experience was very disappointing. The rental process was very chaotic and inefficient. After standing around and awaiting my turn for 30 minutes, I walked out and went somewhere else.

Fannie H.

Yelp
Top notch shop. The excellent staff recommended and fitted me for a Santa Cruz mountain bike for my time in Jackson. The bike was perfect for the cross-country riding that I did during my trip. One of the employees even caught up with me on the trail and helped adjust my handlebar height!

gal b.

Yelp
Ever since the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort bought these guys, they have been a top notch organization. I have shopped here for both small items and large items, such as bicycles, and have always been treated well. This summer, I bought a Specialized gravel bike and had it fitted by Don, and I have to say, I have never been happier on a bike. He's a pro, the staff are kind and courteous, and I will be coming back next year for sure!

Cliff H.

Yelp
I know bike shops tend to be unwelcoming - but this place takes smugness to another level. As far as bikes go, this is a great place to buy lube, degreaser, gloves, etc. However, the staff is ignorant when it comes to bikes and components. They seemed unaware of what is on their own floor, much less the market as a whole. The mechanic shop is decent, but I have gotten some embarassingly bad tunes back from them in the past. ** this place seems much friendlier and more knowledgable when the winter gear hits the shelves.

Manny F.

Yelp
Store is ok but the manager is unprofessional. I bought some goggles from him that turned out to have a design flaw. Went back, asked him if he was familiar with excessive wind flow and how to correct it. His side of the conversation was, and I'm not exaggerating to the extent: "dude, I don't know what you are talking about". I try not to judge a store by one employee but if this is a manager then how are are other employees? He also gave me bad advice on fitting ski boots. If you need boots a much better place is Pepi Stiegler's in Teton Village. The gear there is in general much better and equally outrageously priced.

Gary F.

Yelp
I rented a road bike while on vacation in Jackson from this shop. There customer service and responsiveness is superb. They promptly called when I left a message to order the bike and scheduled the rental. They had the bike i requested in the size needed too. I spoke with Mac. he also promptly emailed my confirmation We had a few bad days of summer weather come in on my planned rental days and they were easily able to adjust my rental days. Very accommodating. The bike was ready and equipped to go when I came in. They even installed the pedals needed for my cleats and installed my camera mount for me. The bike road perfectly for 2 days and I had no worries. It was wonderful to have rented an excellent road bike from this shop!
google avatar

Layla Y.

Yelp
They have really good ski choices while you are in town. Before heading to the Jackson Hole you can get skies here and swap them in the JH moutain. loved it.
google avatar

Connie B.

Yelp
Great store with good service. Overnight ski tune ups. Easy parking, easy location.

Cat G.

Yelp
We had a good experience here. In town for 3 days, we rented bikes (a road bike for me, mountain bike for my boyfriend). Our sales guy was terrific and went out of his way to help us. He drew detailed maps of trails and everything he recommended was exactly as he said it would be (steep hills, interesting sights, distances between stops, etc). The visitor center in town has coupons for 10% off here so pick one up before you stop by.

Yelp
Tons of selection of products, everything from apparel to ski to bikes, and will even get you going with a touring setup.
