This is one of my fav places to shop. Everyone is so nice and helpful. I am obsessed with their kids clothes.

Nice shop. Super nice workers but bought a pair of pants and they forgot to take the security tag. Not a big deal I got it off with a video. Overall a chill place though. 🤙🏼🤙🏼

I love this shop, it is a part of the Laguna family. People here love this place and their ideals.

Came in on Black Friday just to check out the store. I had never been there before (Visiting from Ventura). Met a guy named Jake who was working. The guy was incredible! We chatted for awhile about books, mutual friends, and a bunch of other things. He was EXTREMELY nice and charing. Bought a few things, and next time I visit my parents in Laguna I will 100% stop back in this shop because of that guy.

Such a rad store! You can really feel the history. The staff are amazing and always helpful. I will shop her for the rest of my life!

MUST SEE SURF SHOP IN LAGUNA BEACH, tons of rad clothes, shoes, jewelry, surf gear, etc. So much history posted around the shop and the associates are all so kind! Liz is a sweetheart and so helpful!! You will feel good about your purchases as well as be confident with the quality. I got a lotus and luna bracelet made with pearls and it is so stunning and I love that they sell products with meaning! Hobie Surf Shop is a very artful California lifestyle shop well managed as one would expect knowing the tasteful Hobie tradition. The sales clerks were very helpful and attentive. A great place to shop for excellent high quality surfer style clothing and cool accessories.

I Love this Shop! Located in Laguna Beach, CA just a block or so up the street from the Ocean. Great items for anyone who loves the beach, So Cal casual wear and summer in general. We came in to purchase a gift for a family friend. They always have a great selection of unique t shirts, outerwear, flip flops, interesting candles and really friendly service. Great selection for young adults, men and women. If I am with family or by myself, it's rare to walk out of this store empty handed. A huge shout out to Hannah who gave us the best service, gift wrapped our present with a box, tissue, bow and bag...and got us in and out of the door in no time at all. DONE! Hours change based on seasonal hours summer time hours : Friday and Saturday are 9 AM to 9 PM...call if you are not sure. We almost missed a visit here because Yelp said they were already closed with winter hours still in, but when we drove by doors were opened. Score! Easiest gift buying experience ever!

Service - good even on a rainy day. Friendly and there if you need them. Selection - good California surf vibe with shirts, shorts, swimsuits, hats, socks, wetsuits, boards, accessories, and much surf references, and a whole lot more jam packed into this corner store Value - this is surf/art city so don't look for cheap or a steal, but for this place, it isn't bad considering the selection they have. They also have some sale/sale items on occasion too. Came here and some items are 40% off. Verdict - if you are visiting, definitely a good stop by place! And if local, still come in for a peruse one in a while.

If i could give 0 stars I would. this place is fatphobic. I went here with my boyfriend and no one helped me or asked if I needed help but were so quick to help the thinner females in the store. They saw I was looking and two employees just kept talking to themselves. I overheard one employee with short blonde hair at the time say to the guy employee that's not going to fit her." To that employee: the dress for me by the way. Again, fatphobic so don't expect help or any kind of customer service. Maybe it's not because i'm a larger woman with actual curves and maybe it's because i am A POC? I wouldn't be surprised if it was both. Regardless, get better employees. here is a tip: stop being fatphobic and help your customers regardless of what your fatphobic opinions are.

The sweater I wanted had a stitching problem in the sleeve and they had one delivered form another store location. They kept it on hold for me and I'm grateful! The store is very big and fairly expensive. They have some very cozy clothes.

The surf shop looks great and has beautiful products. The only reason I gave them 4 starts was the customer service. They were always asking if I needed help, way to much. The funny part was, after looking around and finding what I was interested in, it was hard to get help and I had to walk to the counter. They just hit you up like crazy when you walk in, then forget about you. As a retail manager, train your employees to walk around and be available but not pushy. Other than the rookie customer service, I love this store so much. I could set up a living room in there and live out the rest of my days surrounded by my vibe.

Stopping into Hobie , is a must when you come to Laguna Beach. I've been shopping here for 15+ years for the entire family. They have the best / updated selection of Socal clothing . They will certainly have everything & anything you left behind or want for your perfect day at the beach. The customer service is always great. The prices are fair and their return policy is great. Parking is metered all along the streets. They also have public parking lots but it's also metered.

Overall great quality. You do have to be a tiny female to fit into most of their clothing. I have a large chest so I am limited on tops. Staff was friendly and help you find sizes. It's in the cutest shopping center.

Super chill as soon as we walked in we brought my puppy in and they said i could put her down which was so nice because she can get heavy sometimes haha but yeah really nice employees nice sweatshirts and definitely a new favorite shop

Must visit when in Laguna. Huge selection, lots of cool stuff and reasonable prices. Parking in Laguna is challenge.

Went in to buy a watch but was bummed they didn't have one. Lexi did a great job greeting me and recommending a few other surf shops that might have watches in the area! Ended up leaving with a changing poncho and am.happy with the quality! Great job Lexi and team! :)

I came in today looking for a specific hat and all their sizes were to big , I needed a small but there was none left because how popular it was ! The girl that worked there was so nice and thoughtful and was saving a hat for herself that was my size and was so considerate she ended up giving it to me. I never caught her name , but that was amazing customer service and so thoughtful ! She was blonde , and worked at a difffrnt location but was there helping out for alittle. Thank you!

The day was hot & we saw some cool board shorts in the window of Hobie Sports, so seemed like fate was calling our names.... Large selection of shorts, trunks, bathing suits, & there are also flip flops & sandals & all kinds of nice beachy attire The Mr found a few pairs of shorts he liked & we could have happily found others but we were chased away by the *huge* line of ladies waiting to try on their finds - there are only 3 dressing rooms for the whole store so the vibe from the line of people waiting their turn (not from the staff) was all about hurry up, dude! So we quickly made decisions & were on our way The guy ringing us up was incredibly sweet & we talked about the great weather, how he loves SF & it was a super pleasurable experience ( aside from the pressure at the dressing rooms )

My keenly knowledgeable Orange County sherpa wisely instructed me that Rainbows are the only type of flip flops worth purchasing. My mind was one tracked toward the flip flops so I didn't spend much time looking at the shop's other offerings which include beach gear, hats, sunglasses and swimsuits. The sandal selection is extensive, which is unsurprising considering this store's proximity to the beach. I found a perfect, sandy colored pair of Rainbows and brought them to the cash register where I was rung up without incident.

Great quality clothing and fantastic service at Hobie downtown Laguna Beach. My husband found several sweatshirts here and they offered us a military discount making the clothes a good value. Huge store with nice selection for men and women with shoes and accessories as well. Nice place to stop in while taking a stroll downtown.

I have bought at least 25 pairs of Reef sandals over the years at this store.They refuse to replace the most recent pair that broke. They say it is not their responsibility and gave me the email of the Reef company to take it up with them.The Reef Company has never gotten back to me. I called other Hobie Stores and they said they would return broken shoes just not the Laguna store.The Laguna store is a rip off and will not take responsibility for its products .

Hobie is one of my favorite stores to shop at downtown. I always find the most adorable bikinis and boardshorts at Hobie for me and my family. They also have a huge variety of clothing; they have so many graphic shirts to choose from that I often find myself picking up more than just a few tees for my boys. Not only do they have fashionable clothes, but they also have handcrafted surfboards and paddle boards as well. My boys love to admire the boards and dream of learning how to surf as soon as they get a little older.

Really cool surf shop that feels like a "core" shop with awesome graphic tees and their own gear but also has a wide variety of other brand gear that reflect the same cool vibe that the store has. Very friendly and helpful staff, well put together, decent prices. Would highly recommend to anyone local or visiting. A+

Just rolling in on a beautiful Laguna beach day just to see if anything peaked our interest. The staff dropped their current inventory count to simply smile and greet us . Mitch who has only been there for six months was courteous to ask if we needed any assistance with anything .. When I told him we were just browsing he didn't give us a brush off . It made me want to buy something from him . He showed me where the item I was asking about was. He gave me some other options and suggestions . We walked out happy with our sons Christmas gift in hand! Thanks Mitch !

Just to set the stage: I'm a 50-year-old home owner and resident of Laguna Beach. I'm also a CEO of a software company located in the bay area (I work from home office here in laguna). For the record, I do my best to always support the local businesses. I recently purchased 4 pair of shorts from Hobie. The shorts had drawstrings on them. When I washed the shorts all of the drawstrings came out and I was not able to get them back in the shorts. So I went to the Laguna Beach location to return the shorts ($60per pair). The manager asked if I tried to get the strings back in I said yes, but was not successful. She asked if I tried using a safety pin, I said "No" she said well that's how you fix them. I said regardless I shouldn't have to deal with this every time I wash my shorts. She said well I can return 2 of the pair not all 4. I asked why she said well its a start. I said no you should stand behind the product you sell and return all of the shorts and I said all or nothing or I will donate them. She smirked and said "oh well". So I donated them. The manager could have very easily returned the product to the manufacturer, but she was trying to prove a point. I spend well over $1,000 per year in their stores and this is the first time I have ever had a problem. Needless to say, she lost a customer for life. I will never step foot in their store and I will spread the word. There is a saying "for every action the is a reaction" Its really too bad. I can purchase anything I need, but like to help out the local shops. This is one shop I will never patronize . I hope management learns from this tragic treatment of a local customer.

This surf shop has some of the best wax in town. There are brands hear that no other surf shop in orange county carries. Every time I am at Hobie Surf I notice that there are sufers there that know about the sport and take it pretty seriously. I love Hobie Surf

Hannah is a fabulous person who provided excellent customer service! I didn't find what I needed but she was so helpful and personable anyway. I would highly recommend the shop.... beautifully designed and plenty of merchandise!

This place was the only place that girl sandals for last minute beach trip, the stuff was really helpful. This place was making sure everyone had a face mask and keep 6 feet away from others. Everyone was helpful. Especially going on a Sunday it not that busy. I'm definitely coming back to get more ideas.

Pricey, but wonderful California beach stuff. Kids clothes and shoes, surfboards, sandals, beach folding chairs, sunglasses, hats, all things for water fun in sun! They had these cute kids t-shirts that said, "Dude" but for $20 I was too cheap to buy them since I have 2 boys ($40 for two t-shirts? I'm a better shopper than that!) My husband found some flip flops but when he saw the $80 price tag? No way Jose! Touristy place for sure!

I absolutely ADORE Hobie Sports... It's one of those staples from childhood that you just can't live without. If you need a swimsuit...go to Hobie!! HUGE selection of suits for all sizes as well as a plethora of flippy floppys and Crocs. Racks of sundresses, hats, towels, sunglasses, and all things Laguna Beach. My boyfriend and I were in Laguna one day and the weather turned out to be nicer than we had first thought it was going to be...so we suddenly had the urge to go to the beach. Unfortunately we weren't prepared for the sun so off to Hobie we went and a half hour later, each donned in a new swim suit and carrying a towel...we headed off to the sand. So if you ever find yourself in need of emergency swim stuff...look no more. Hobie really does have it all!! Parking can be a bitch but be patient...there are quite a few pay lots nearby or if your lucky you'll find a metered space on Forest Ave.

Staff was very helpful and went the extra mile. Great variety and very clean store. Ended up find the perfect surf items to have fun.

Nice selection of beach attire...flip flops, bathing suits, sunglasses. Hobie's features skateboard gear and surfing gear so you can have your child out there skateboarding and surfing all in the same day. I noticed that they did not sell Oakley sunglasses which I wear but they offer Von Zipper and Electric plus other lines that are less expensive. The clothes can be expensive but most surf & skate clothes are at any shop. The classic sweatshirts & t-shirts were 40% off. I scored. Friendly staff, I think they were trained well.

Like Miriam W. I was in search of Rainbows when I visited Hobie's. It was a super sale time. Boy howdy it was busy and reminded me of the Christmas rush. Lucky for us, we did not get killed. The deals were fantastic, but not a Rainbow in my size. However, I had the great fortune to be in the presence of a girl I just met from Chicago (if I could review her on yelp she would get all the stars!) who sniffs good deals and oozes good taste. She found a dress that had some damage to it, but was beautiful and such a good deal! I bought it! I cannot say surf shops are really my thing, nor the beach culture either (I'm terrible afraid of getting old too quick in the sun, so I keep myself super pasty white and I'm proud of it). Nor do I particularly like shopping; the visit to the fitting room can be just so awkward (I just tried the dress on over my clothes in front of everybody, heehee). It can be said that this place does offer someone like me something.

We came here and shipped everyday truly buying into the surfing experience. The customer service was great and the prices are very affordable. We got some shorts and t shirts from Billabong and Hurley. This is a great stop to make if your looking for some beach gear!!

The store is quite friendly and is nicely situated in Laguna Beach right off of Forest. The staff is nice and knowledgeable. I won't be de-ranking for this but the selection isn't exactly my favorite. As a trendy guy I prefer more of the style of the store like active or skate shop for my clothes are not as beachy as this place is. You can get a cool skateboard longboard surfboard here if you want among some other interesting items so deathly check it out and there's always some cool people coming inside and outside is definitely a tourist spot.

I have gone here quite a bit over the years and have seen a lot of changes at the store. It is large and has a good layout and clothing selection, with many surf brands and quality beach attire. There are handy beach items too like hats, bags and flip flops. Love the jewelry selection at the counter. One thing that has not changed is the employees are mostly young teenagers who are there to socialize with the other employees and not too interested in customers. When I went in yesterday there was a girl cashier parked at the counter talking on and on with two guys about various classmates. I asked her a few questions trying to get info about unmarked items I was interested in. She answered as quickly as possible and went back to the guys, then walked away so she wouldn't have to talk to customers anymore. They need some older manager types to supervise these flakey kids...it would make a big difference in the atmosphere to have employees present who actually care about the customers.

Hobie's is the best when they have a sale, otherwise you're just paying 40 bucks for a tshirt. Still, they have an awesome swim suit collection and some really cute clothes. They have a huge wall of sandals and I always find some piece of jewelry I can't live without. Their staff is super friendly and they know their stuff. I've bought all my surfing accessories here, too, from leashes, to epoxy and wax. Great store!

On several visits, I've found the staff to be engaging, fun, informative. This store is a perfect slice of Laguna Beach with fashion, surf, supplies and gadget to help with anything from a day in the water, on the town or a fireside beach night. Their recent remodel of the store made it more bright, and fun. My last buy was a pair of polarized sunglasses that are great and about $50 less than a comparable national brand. The staff and mgmt of Hobie are supportive of local and regional causes too.

Great selection, but pricey. A good place to go if you want clothing and gear that is good quality and lasts a long time. Great selection of flip-flops and other sandals, but of course they're pricey too! The flip-flops I bought here five years ago, are still holding up great though!

One of my all time favorite stores. The buyers do an amazing job stocking the store with rad products and the managers hire the best employees. Thanks Hobie crew.

My family went in this store and were impressed my the large selection. I bought a dress! The only down side was the prices were a little high. The people here were pretty nice! Great store with a very Californian vibe which is just what we were looking for!!

Nice store and merchandise...LOUSY service. We're local, stopped in after having dinner on Sunday afternoon around 5pm (today). There were some shoppers, but it wasn't crowded. We got the obligatory "Hello" from the guy behind the desk, then hubby and I were totally ignored by the staff for an entire hour. It took me 15 minutes to figure out that the two young women who stood in one area talking to each other were actually employees. They saw me carrying clothing and did not offer to help or even address me. I mean, you're working retail, is it too much to slap on a smile and see if a customer needs anything?? I said to my husband, "I'm going to try these on," within close earshot of them, and they ignored me. I literally tried on my items (tops, over my cami) in the hallway because no one offered to open a dressing room for me. Two other ladies whose teenager was trying on TONS of clothes were receiving no help either. When I stepped up to the register someone finally came over and rang me up. Then another employee came up also and they started chatting. After ringing up the $56 sweatshirt I purchased, they handed it to me without a word and continued their conversation as I turned away. I turned back and said THANK YOU as snarky as I could, like, GET A CLUE!!! These "customer service" employees are coasting on the high quality merchandise and tourist location, but they're certainly not doing anything to make people want to come back service-wise.

Down in the area for a confernce when we ran low on the flip flops we were passing out as welcome presents. Went into Hobie and Jessie was fantastic! We needed a lot of two sizes and she jumped right on it to help me pick out the sizes and offer suggestions. I was in and out so fast it was amazing. We ran out altogether so I had to go back the next day so I called ahead and she had them ready to go when I got there. Great service in addition to saving the day! Oh, they also have some amazing long boards.
