As a bookworm, I definitely had to visit the oldest bookstore in Ireland and it did not disappoint. I loved the section dedicated to Irish authors and stories, I got three books from there as I was in Ireland on a trip. The selection is wonderful (even many beautiful editions to choose from for some of the more popular books) and the store is set up perfectly to find exactly what you’re looking for. I could have spent hours here! 📚

Hodges Figgis is a book lover's dream, a wonderful place. Founded in 1768, it's the oldest bookstore in Ireland and one of the oldest in the world. The selection of books of all sorts is extensive, and nicely arranged, so that, if you're seeking, say, kill and thrill (i.e., crime) fiction, you can find a big selection of books of that sort on a table and then on nearby shelves. The selection of Irish-themed books — both fiction and non-fiction — is, of course, outstanding. The store is very pleasant and elegant, on top of it all, and every staff member with whom I dealt when I browsed and shopped there today was exceedingly helpful and friendly.

An amazing bookstore I loved to discover while I traveled to Dublin. I highly advise any book lovers to come there to discover. They have a lot of choice, the place is huge but not too much. Perfect ⭐️

This is a fantastic shop with loads of books from all different genres. There’s a great collection of art books, a friend of mine came here looking to pick up a Taschen. There’s also a nice selection of books about Ireland’s culture, landscape, and history, past and present.

I absolutely love everything about this bookstore! If I weren’t short on time, I could easily spend the entire day there just browsing through the shelves. Definitely make sure to visit if you’re ever in Dublin!

Saying that I love libraries in general is an understatement, but my experience at Hodges Figgis was excellent. The place have a very wide selection of books in every sections and, kudos to all the very helpful librarians for their time and advices. They are wonderful! If you stay in Dublin it is definitely one of the best libraries to go to. For what it’s worth, I highly recommend it.

Was a floor manager here many moons ago and, my goodness, after a recent refit, HF has got to be the most outstanding bookshop on the island! Everything screams "buy me!": the presentation is outstanding, the staff is knowledgeable, engaged with their surroundings and you, the customer. It is an unmissable stop on the rejuvenated Dawson Street, tourists should take note!

Stunning classic bookstore. Several levels to explore and an enormous selection of books. There is a reason its been in busy for 200 years!!

Hodges Figgis - my saviour on a cold Christmas Eve! Just about the best book shop in Dublin with a great all round selection, helpful staff pleasant surroundings, good location (but watch those new kerbs for the Luas) and prices as good as you'll find online. Oh, and did I mention that you will always find the last minute Christmas present you need in here...

I'm a writer. I like books. I was in Ireland. Therefore, going to a bookstore while visiting Dublin made sense. I was making my way from the Celtic Whiskey Store (and down the street from Trinity College) when we saw the storefront for Hodges Figgis. Needless to say, we went inside and I purchased a couple of books. While aesthetically fairly modern looking without any kind of rustic charm that looked like the store had been around since the 17th century, the bookstore housed a number of national authors -- both modern and famed. Being that I was lacking on Irish authors, I bought a copy of Dubliners by James Joyce and a collection of poetry by Yeats. If I had a flat in Dublin City Centre, I would be coming here quite a bit. Hodges and Figgis is a solid bookstore.

I miss old-style, old-fashioned, charming bookstores like Hodges Figgis. There are not enough of them around anymore. Filled with every sort of book you could possibly want, from fiction to factual, and everything in between. I was mesmerised by the size of the cookery and art sections. You can literally lose track of time browsing the shelves. Staff are pleasant and extremely helpful as well. Great place to escape from the maddening crowds in Dublin and spend a peaceful hour rummaging, relaxing and purchasing. A book lovers paradise.

This age old bookstore in Dublin has old world charm about it; a book lovers dream! Stock is over 3 floors but it's well signposted so you can always find the section you're after. Staff here know there stuff, from rare author to best sellers, there's nothing these peeps don't know... I also love how precise they can be, in a big store they literally can find that needle in a haystack your looking for without checking the computer! Impressive! So whether books including college text books, maps, magazines this book shop wins out. Buying here you are supporting one of the oldest bookstores, an Irish gem!

This is a great book store. You could get lost here--and I don't mean it's layout is confusing--it's just that they have so many things to look at! The cookbook section must have a singularity; Stephen Hawking should investigate this. I think I have only spent 10 minutes looking at books here and 1 hour has gone by in the real world outside. My only complaint is that there are not enough comfy chairs for tired customers to rest their feet. The few chairs they have--decked out in well worn green leather--are always taken over by 60-somethings who park themselves in a sunny window like it's a retirement home. Come on people, get up and buy something. Don't Bogart the chairs. The staff is pretty cool. You can tell they all enjoy the camaraderie of being book minions at Hodges Figgis. I think it's cute how they can be a little cliquish amongst themselves. Anyway, the staff is always pleasant and they enjoy answering questions. The book-club-card is good to know about. Get one if you're a local. If you're not a local, come to Dawson Street anyway and have lunch at Cafe en Seine while you're down here. That's a real treat.

Does what it says on the tin. Nicely laid out, amazing selection (see my photo of the Europe travel section along), and nice comfortable surroundings. The range of travel books was so vast in fact that I had to get a shop assistant to direct me in the right direction. She did more than that, and suggested other possible books that might also be good for my needs (without being asked) My only gripe - which really would be true of all Irish bookshops - was the price! I looked up the Rough Guide on Amazon the night before and found it for €15 with free p&p. I decided to go into Hodges Figgis anyway, as the shock of HMV closing down has only further instilled in me the need to support local businesses to prevent this from happening all over Dublin! The very same book cost €28. Plus the cost of me travelling in and out of town. I can't see how these crazy prices can be justified??

Hodges Figgis is the best bookshop in Dublin by some margin. It's also one of the oldest bookshops in Ireland (my oul' lad, good Joycean that he is, tells me that it is mentioned in 'Ulysses'.) How's that for literary pedigree? Hodges Figgis has a wider selection of books than either Easons or Waterstones, and maybe it's just me but I find Hodges Figgis a lot easier to navigate my way around than other bookshops. It can be a teeny bit more expensive than Easons on occasion, particularly for things like new releases, but it has a loyalty card that gives you €10 off for every €80 you spend. If you buy a lot of books, this works out at as a 12% discount every time you buy a book, but even apart from that, Hodges Figgis is way nicer and better laid out. One for the true bibliophiles.

When I am sad; I buy books. When I get home I look at these books and my mood is instantly lifted. Hodges Figgis is a wonderful place for a rainy day but even when the sun is out, I could trawl the shelves for hours on end. Smartly laid out, it is easy to navigate your way round and with staff who allow you to peruse at your own pace, by the time I've made my way through the entire store, I can barely see with all the books stacked in my arms. Decision time is never easy; what will my pocket allow and which purchase would satisfy my present craving? Never being able to buy them all, there is always fortunately, reason to return.

The staff was friendly and willing to help. We went to three or four book stores prior to this one and it had the best prices. The atmosphere is lovely for a new book store. I still had the feeling of warmth and coziness that new book stores often do not offer. I was just missing a coffee!

Hodges Figgis isn't my favourite place to buy books in Dublin (it's my second favourite in case you were wondering) but it is probably my favourite place just to walk around in Dublin. The place is humongous and houses thousands of books I'd say yet still has a really nice intimacy to it. Hodges Figgis is more like an old library than a bookshop really. People stroll in and out, flitting through books and just taking in the ambience. It's a really nice bookshop with a great bargain basement as well as really good staff who actually know a thing or two about good books. I love it. Plus, the name sounds like it came stragiht out of a Harry Potter novel, which is just flippin great.

This is definitely a top end bookstore in Dublin. The store is several floors and packed with every book imaginable. It is a good thing that the staff is so knowledgeable and friendly because I can never find anything on my own. I cannot leave the store without my wallet being a bit lighter.

I agree with other Yelpers when they say that Hodges and Figgis is great for academic books. In fact, when I was a student at Trinity I was told to come here and buy my books. This bookshop has a great selection of Irish literature and history in the front section. In the back, there's all the classic novels and English literature books. Downstairs you'll find a whole section dedicated to reduced stock. If you have the time to root through all the shelves and stacks then you're bound to find something good. Another good thing about Hodges and Figgis is their reward plan. Every time you buy a book they'll stamp your loyalty card. They even honour expired cards provided that they're not more than one year old.

Fab place for book browsing...with a smattering of sofas for your reading comfort and a bargain basement that's the cheese, there's not more else then you could want! Add to that the fact that due to its Irish ownership it has an excellent Irish interest and history section, and a loyalty card system, you can't really beat it! Both a historical landmark and a genuinely pleasant experience for all bookworms, if you're after a present for either yourself or another, this should be your first port of call. If you're a lover of the classics, the bargain basement is heaven, with the vast majority costing only a couple of quid - can't go wrong with that!!!

Hodges Figgis offers a great selection of books for readers of all tastes with particularly strong Irish interest and literature sections (and yes, you'll be sure to find a copy of Ulysses). It's also really handy for Trinity students because lecturers tend to slip HF their reading lists in good time for them to source the madly obscure texts that they prescribe. It's a pleasant shop to browse around in. The staff are friendly and helpful, and if they don't have what you're after, they will try their darndest to get it! You can also pick up some classics at a good price from the basement/stairs.

Hodges Figgis is everything a book shop should be. I make no secret of the fact that I am a bookshopaholic and am rarely happier then when I'm wandering around a book shop browsing and sorting out the troubles of the world in my head. In my opinion this is one of the last (if not the last) great Dublin book shops. There used to be lots - Waterstones,The Winding Stair (sigh). We of course have Eason but I find the pace there to be so much faster than a bookshop ought to be - lots of foot traffic and magazine readers. Hodges Figgis have a fantastic selection of books and staff that have a wealth of knowledge and all seem really genuinely interested in books - without being snobbish. Of course the prices are high but I understand their rent must be massive and they have so many staff - I can imagine it is virtually impossible to compete with the online sellers - so they don't. Instead they offer us a true bookshop experience and that comes at a price. They have a good bargain section and a good loyalty scheme. My only gripe is the recent relocation of the children's section to the basement which makes no sense and every time I visit the shop I see some poor woman with a double buggy looking perplexed at the narrow steep flight of stairs.

Although as a book shop their credentials are top notch, there's something about Hodges I just can't seem to warm too about the place. Great on text books, Irish interest too, there's limited editions which no one can afford behind the main counter. As well as a huge stock of fiction, non fiction and countless out sub genre's. Look out for the bargain basement as well. Loads of textbooks too, well known by students of Trinners stocking up for the academic year.

While in Dublin, do as the Dubliners do... and how better to do that than to visit a bookstore within the city? We had been trudging the streets of Ireland's capital for three days when I realized that at some point I'd want to read more about it. I was a bit leery at first as to what I might find... would it be stuffed with leprechaun picture books, a la some tourist trap? Happy to say the answer to that question is a strong 'no'. Actually, this bookstore reminded me a lot of what American bookstores used to be like before we made the transition to electronic devices, or in some cases, gave up on the idea of reading altogether. This location consists of three floors, with creaky stairwells connecting them. The main floor, as one might surmise, has the bestsellers prominently on display, complete with a Top 20 shelf. It also has a huge Ireland section, including a couple of shelves that appear to be an exhaustive catalog of Dublin's history, geography, economics, sport, real estate... you name it, it's there. But if your interests lie elsewhere, there is plenty to wetten that palette as well, whether it be history of other regions, philosophy, nature studies, sport, etc. I even found a copy of the book I was reading at the time, John Feinstein writing about the 2004 Baltimore Ravens! Small world indeed. Well, I left the sport section alone, but did pick up three Ireland-specific books, including one where the writer, Paul Clements, climbs to the highest point of each of the country's 32 counties. Checkout staff was friendly - I even was served by one lady who had apparently spent a year in San Francisco's Sunset District (I was wearing a Giants hat). Dawson Street is happening too, so if you want to enjoy a coffee or stronger beverage after visiting, you won't have far to walk.

This is the only library in Dublin where I founded the sales, strategy and management books I needed. I went again for a travel book, they have a nice section of guides. Go there if you are searching a gift as well, some good ideas

My favourite bookshop and one of my favourite spots in Dublin. Hodges Figgis is a massive shop that has most books you could look for. The 3 or so floors are a utopia for book lovers and I adore browsing around the shop anytime I can. The prices are not the cheapest or the most expensive but their loyalty card system is amazing and really adds up to your savings and I always feel encouraged to spend money here to get my €10 off! I have found the staff here to be so immensely friendly and helpful. They are always full of conversation and seem to care about you. They also appear to care for their jobs as they all know what they're talking about and they are educated in their the books they sell. Absolutely adore this bookshop and am always delighted to give it a visit! Would recommend to everyone!

It's been a shameful long time since I let my fingers run of over firm paper that feels like the texture of your cheek - go on run your fingers over it or someone elses and compare. Today I was lured here. Too much virtual text leads to glazing over, a trait I am guilty off so I have to switch off from time to time. There is something wonderfully satisfying about turning a page. I knew the book I wanted but I did not know the title or the author, "I know I'm ridiculous." "No you are not," she assured me. "Well he's a journalist and I believe it was written a year ago." "Anything else?" "The publisher is Irish, it's about the Irish drinking culture - I'm sorry about doing this to you!" "No it's fine." And off she ran from behind the till on her mission. Upstairs, downstairs as I tried to google keywords and viola she appeared with it with a huge grin. It's fantastic to know that the people that work there have such a knowledge of books and a patience to deal with a lazy git like me who was not bothered to write the title down prior to entering. Hats off to that girl. I have spent several hours caressing the words out of this fabulously loquacious cheek.

After watching one of the HF managers deal with a really dodgy character last night (not me), I think this place deserves the full five stars. The guy was trying to scam money off someone else's laser card, and was getting more and more aggressive. After a few choice words about the manager's patriarchal heritage, Supermanager performed some sort of Jedi mind trick that convinced the guy to call the Gardaí on himself. So not only is HF an excellent bookshop, but the staff have magic powers as well.

Cool bookstore with a really big crime section. These are my favorite kinds of books so I like the fact that I saw the word "crime" in a bunch of different places in this store :-) The place is pretty big and looks to have books that span a wide range of subjects. Make sure to check out the basement, there you will find lots of bargans and not all just in one big pile but neatly organized by sebject.

I like going into Hodges and Figgis. I like floating between floors, picking up books, skipping in a few pages, reading a paragraph or two, putting said book down, and then wandering over to a table which claims to possess a small collection of the best books on bird watching. I like seeing kids nose deep in comics, sitting on the floor, and not being disturbed by staff. I like picking up a pencil case, gulping when I see the price, and then quickly putting it back down, for fear holding it incurs some kind of weird fine. I like the random section on the occult. Things I do not like: trying to locate my Hodges and Figgis loyalty card at the till, triumphantly pulling out a bookmark, then blushing like a 12 year old when the person at the checkout pulls a face and says, "that's not our loyalty card". THEN WHY DO THEY LOOK SO SIMILAR! WHY LORD WHY!??; every book is expensive and this makes me sad; every present with a literary connotation is expensive and this makes me sad; I got lost on the second floor once. Other than that though, Hodges and Figgis is a delight. I like the dark wood, and how its exterior vaguely resembles Ollivanders from the Harry Potter movies. Is it slightly more expensive than your regular bookshop, yes, but it stocks both the popular and obscure, so you can forgive them for the few extra bob they are extracting from you. Be warned though, it's very difficult to browse and leave without buying, so if you're strapped for cash, stare forlornly at the window display and move on!

I love Hodges! I was first introduced to it last year for my textbooks, and the proximity to Trinity meant that I was always there. It's quiet, large, and well organised. The staff is very helpful and knowledgeable. I had to order in a book recently- it arrived quickly and I was conveniently notified by text. Smooth service! Unfortunately, it is a bit expensive. I have to admit I'd probably check for my desired book in the secondhand section of Chapters first, and then buy at Hodges if necessary. Either way, I love coming in here for a browse!

Fave bookshop in Dublin - there's just something so bookloving about it! Despite the sometimes apparently illogical displays I nearly always find books I want to read within 5 minutes of entering. They don't always know what they have in stock so if you're looking for something academic or specialist you're almost better off having a root in the section - you might find an oul gem there. The selection is quite broad - from bestsellers to irish interest to specialist and academic books. They also have the lovely bargain basement and frequently do sales of interesting books. The loyalty card scheme would be good if I could find the many, many cards I have (mostly being used as random bookmarks) - if you get 8 stamps (one for each 10 euro you spend) you get a tenner voucher. I think what I like best about it is how much the staff love books... I've had so many random conversations with the staff there.

The best bookstore in Dublin, in my opinion. No doubt about it. And a fantastic building in an amazing location. This place was recommended to me by a few friends and at first i was highly skeptical. I just thought it was going to be another over-hyped venue on Dawson St, but it surprised me. It has a vast array of books from all literary categories and the staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. It consist of 3 floors with the main categories on the ground level. You'll have to take the stairs all the way to the top for the Computer/Marketing section, but it's a decent collection so it's worth it. The prices are similar to any other bookstore in Dublin, but you can get a loyalty card that gets topped up every time you spend more than 10 euros, which is very helpful. Amazon and other online stores are going to be cheaper but there's something about going into an actual bookstore and selecting one for yourself that will have me coming back here time and time again.

Hodges Figgis: This is the type of book store experience most of us want from the selections available to the smell of new books in the air. The staff is also very helpful - a staff member will lead you to the spot where your coveted book can be found and stay with you until it's clear you have found what you're seeking. It just feels like a book shop should. Makes you want to set up camp on one of its' floors and read the afternoon rain away... Go ahead and judge this book shop by its' cover ... you won't be disappointed.

I love this place and want to have its babies. I mean honestly. I quite literally fell in love with it when I walked in and saw it had an Irish interests section larger than most apartments I have lived in. And then there are all the other books.... the fountains, heaps and oceans of books. Bargain books, cook books, new releases, old favorites, oh my word. The most beautiful lovely wonderful part is the fact that it is like a maze in here, stairs up, stairs down, doorway after doorway leading you to more books. I'm serious. I want to have babies with this place.

This is one of my favorite book shops in town. The building is fantastic; I love that bubble bay window out front and the classy sign hanging from an iron support outside. Even the central staircase inside is cool. It feels more like being invited into someone's house, instead of a retail book shop. There is a shop in the USA called, "A Clean, Well-lighted Place For Books." That's exactly what Hodges Figgis is, without the silly name. (Ok, that's debatable, but for another time.) They have college text books, business-related books, fiction, bargain books, and all kinds of history, cookbooks, and travel guides here. They are like Easons, but with a more focused (and possibly better) selection. On the plus side, they have a good floorplan with CHAIRS (unlike Eason), and the shopping experience is nicer. There aren't 5 kids running round buying school supplies and getting in your way (like Eason). On the negative side, one or two of their sales girls have a "people are stupid" attitude that rubs me the wrong way. They behave like dropouts from Trinity who are bitter about having to take retail jobs and work with the plebs. Other than that it's a great store.

Hogges Figgis is a great bookshop. I'm a keen reader of sci-fi and normally most book shops have a very poor selection. Hogges Figgis has a great selection and has introduced me to some new authors I never even knew existed. Add to this the loyalty scheme, a stamp for every 5 euro spent, get six stamps and you get 5 euro off your next book it makes it the only bookshop I bother with really in dublin. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable and shop itself is well set out. There's even a bargain basement for some cheap books. Overall everything you could want. Note its not a borders style bookshop with coffee shop and cds and dvds. Its a bookshop which made me feel happy.

This bookstore was a pleasant surprise. I was walking along Dawson Street and found Hodges Figgis and decided to check it out. Here's what I liked: - The books are laid out in a beautiful manner (apart from the usual sections) so as to pique my interest. - The staff are so well-read that I found myself chatting with one of them for a bit while I was looking for a book. Seriously, if you're bored and need to talk to a fellow bookworm, this place seals the deal. - Loyalty card. I needn't explain this any further, especially if you are a frequent buyer of books. My only gripe was that some of the books here were a bit expensive compared to what Amazon is offering for the same paperbacks (and if you're the type that reads off a Kindle, Amazon's got you covered for even lesser--but let's not get into that). Overall, this is a beautiful store where you can easily lose a couple of hours having fun and discovering some really nice books.

This is by far the best and most comprehensive book shop in Dublin, far better than it's rival Easons etc. Not as good as Amazon of course, but it does house a good amount and competes well with all the local book sellers. It's 4 floors including the bargain basement and has almost every book imaginable! Books are neatly arranged and categorised making it easy to find what you are looking for and you are allowed to stand and read for as long as you want. There are even seats here and there around the store to sit, so it sometimes feels like a library! The ground floors has fiction, new releases and books about Ireland. The travel books have been moved around over the years I've visit though, initially being on the 2nd floor, then the 3rd and now they are in the lower ground along with languages and English study which ised to be on the 3rd floor as well. The 2nd floor is where I usually go which has books related to cooking, health, art, psychology, fashion etc. while the top floor has books for university as well as other books to assist in learning. They also sell some cool notebooks, journals, calendars and Harry Potter merchandise. However, in terms of price, I find it more pricy than what I find online but it's great for browsing and passing the time. There is also a discount stamp card if you spend enough. Overall, I would say that it is the best and biggest book shop in Dublin, and even if they don't have a book in stock you can sometimes order it in.

It's not stretch to say this is the best book shop in Ireland, certainly of contemporary new books anyway. Sprawling over a few stories (no pun intended) it's got pretty much every book imaginable. I've certainly never been stuck for what I'm looking for, and I have some obscure tastes in books. It's a little expensive, as book shops usually are. You won't find a book here for much less than a tenner and most are about 15, that's just for fiction. I suppose Amazon has just ruined me. Certain books however such as law textbooks are cheaper than average. Still the selection is to die for and you could spend many happy hours perusing the shelves. It's actually a little stressful because there are so many inspiring and interesting books and so little time! The staff are also very helpful and nice.

This is currently my favorite book store in Dublin. It's absolutely huge but still holds a cosy book shop feel. Fantastic collection of books especially speciality subjects not found in other book shops like Easons. They also have a lovely gift section. If they don't have it they will order it for you and having used this service twice before I was very happy with it. The staff are friendly an are always informative about titles or authors.

For academic textbooks and educational material, Hodges Figgis is a better bet than the campus bookstore (if you're a UCD Development student at least). They stock a broad selection of books on global economics, development theories and politics (plus all the philosophy, history, fiction and non-fiction etc.), and if they don't have what you came for, they order it asap. I also find the children-book section pretty good. Is always my first stop when I need to find an educational birthday present for my friend's kids. Remember to get your loyalty card!

The front windows of Hodges Figges are laden with books currently on Trinity student's reading lists. Situated only a 5-minute walk from the Nassau Street entrance to Trinity College this bookshop is the unendorsed and therefore unofficial bookshop for the university yet owing to its location, magnitude and versatile stockpile of books it is the first port of call for most Trinity students. The university gives the shop copies of the reading lists each term so they can pre-order stock and avoid student's having to go elsewhere. This affords the shop an extensive and appealing range of hardbacks and paperbacks alike. Being the unofficial cohort to a university the store contains everything from scientific textbooks, 2 tonne dictionaries, 21st century Scottish Literature, as well as the thorny world of medieval prose. The shop does exude a very rich atmosphere and every time I go in I feel awakened by the great versatility of literature able to be retrieved. NB/ It was founded in the 18th century (1768) and is mentioned in passing in James Joyce's novel Ulysses. (The shop has moved at least three times in the last hundred years, and the premises mentioned in Ulysses are now occupied by Waterstone's, almost directly opposite the present location.)

Lovely big book store. I used to prefer Waterstones when it was there as i loved the layout. However they have a great selection of books and lots of stuff for things I am interested in such as travel and cookery. You could easily spend a whole day here as it covers a couple of floors.

The bargain basement here is one of Dublin's best kept secrets!This place has just EVERYTHING! Check out the extensive range of PG Wodehouse books, the perfect read for a summer's afternoon! It's a pity they don't have a cafe but nip next door to Lemon for a caffeine fix!

Awesome bookstore, extremely well stocked, I found everything that came to mind. One of the cashiers even let me use the employee restrooms which was very kind speaking that I just came from Kehoe's. I could easily spend hours at a time here.

Not sure what all the fuss is about, this is among the most generic 'great book stores' among 'Great bookstores' of the world -- every major city's got one. Try Waterstones in the UK, exact same, except atleast in some college branches in the second hand section you'll find reams of incredible intricate titles... (the Bloomsbury branch in London, Oxford the same). Again they've a couple of so called 'literary' events on par with the dustier rackets in the area, say Bewleys on Grafton St., but its hardly burgeoning with beat writers, not sure you'd catch anything close in there. Sure, if your the type that wants to pop out and get the Cambridge Companion to Kant, even if a little overpriced, then its good for that. Look at which ever way you want, its not in the 5 star league of 'Great Book stores'.

From the outside, Hodges Figgis looks like a tiny bookstore with an amazing person in charge of displays. But go inside and you'll find a massive store filled to brim with anything you can find. Think of a big Barnes & Nobles in the states, and this is it, but better. This is truly a book lover's dream.

It's one of my favourite bookshop and i highly recommend it. Although I am writing this review on an iPad and I am a relatively new consumer of ebooks, I am confident that you can't replace the great feeling bookshops and physical books provide. Even though I am a big consumer of online information, there will always be a place for physical books which you flick through, read, admire, enjoy the tactile sensation of the paper, the type face, images, the smell of the paper and the ink. iBooks and the kindle reader provide the text and a handy way to buy and I will consume but I don't think ill ever be ready to dump my books and my time in Hodges Figgis.

This is one of the best bookstores I've ever been in and I've been to bookstores all over the world! There are over three floors which means lots of books! I could spend hours here, there are some seats where you can read a couple of chapters before you commit to purchasing a book! It is so organized here, if you can't find a book here, it probably doesn't exist. No trip to Dublin is complete until you come here. They even have a loyalty card, if you spend 100 euros here, you'll get 10 euros off your next purchase! Super cool if you're a local! It's within walking distance to a lot of touristy places as well. This is how a bookstore should be!

Great bookstore with a brilliant selection and lots of lovely helpful staff. They have a discount section too which is always worth a look. They have a loyalty scheme so for every €10 you spend you get a stamp and when you have ten stamps you get €10 off your next purchase! I love browsing here and always find something interesting.

This is the magical land of books in Dublin (on the South side anyway, Chapters rules the North side). Its a pleasure to wander in here and browse away. They even have seats sprinkled around the place so you can sit and peruse guilt free. With beautiful window displays & a vast array, Dublin would be a lesser city without HF. Great for university books as well. They also will order in any book you want & staff are very helpful. The bargain basement downstairs is great for the classics & for cookbooks. If you're a book lover then you will love HF.

Books on 3 floors! Great place to go a roam for interesting tomes of knowledge. I can hardly go in here without leaving with 2-3 tomes for my already overflowing arch of a bookshelf. Staff is really helpful and will get you the wise words on paper that they aren´t stocking at the moment.
