Real deal traditional beer and food experience. In warm weather, the best biergarten in Munich (as I was told by a long-time Munich resident). It is just the right size, about the size of a squared-off football pitch. It is shaded by many leafy chestnut trees and features a walk-up bar.
Inside, bierkeller atmosphere with tradition but not kitsch. Service is optimal. I had a superb Kellerbier (I am a BJCP National beer judge) and Obatzda (spiced cheese blend) served with pickle, radish, brown bread and fresh lettuce. Really quite excellent all around.
