Loved this place. From the first moment it was spot in. Very conveniently situated close to the harbor. The whole area is lovely. The staff was nice and attentive. There have plenty of choice but I think you can never go wrong with the catch of the day. The fish we had was delicious, nice balanced combination of flavours, well-paired with a cool glass of wine. For a dessert, I'd definitely recommend the one made from skyr, fruits and sorbet. So yummy, light and perfect ending to this great evening.

Everyone was very polite, helpful and accommodating. I brought in my family of 12 at dinner time and they tried their absolute best to make sure we got seats as soon as they were available! We were also super happy with the food ( get the grilled prawn you have to) and the prices were very reasonable.

The mussels were okay. However, they had quite a bit of sand, which suggests they weren’t cleaned thoroughly. The fries seemed a bit too few as a side dish. The Arctic char was good – I liked it. The skyr was excellent. Enjoy! We also found a small pearl inside one of the mussels.

Höfnin absolutely blew me away—everything was perfect from start to finish. The view is stunning, especially with the harbor right outside, setting the tone for a relaxed and scenic dining experience. The food? Incredible. Every dish, from the appetizers to the desserts, was full of flavor and beautifully presented. The atmosphere and overall vibe are cozy, welcoming, and just right for enjoying a great meal. What made it even more special was the service. The crew took such good care of us throughout, making us feel truly looked after. Hands down the best restaurant I’ve tried in Reykjavík so far. Can’t wait to go back!

I'd eaten here during a previous holiday to Iceland and wasn't disappointed with this return meal. Location is good on the harbour front. The restaurant is a nice space, staff were efficient and the food is excellent.

We had the most amazing dinner here. The children had moules mariniere. I had a mocktail and grandma's haddock followed by the most amazing dessert. The service was very friendly but the highlight was seeing the chef helping with the service. A bit pricy but worth going for the amazing ambiance and food.

Expensive, but well, it's Iceland (and the capital of Iceland). The food was excellent, the service was nice, the room has a big window looking over the old harbour, and I got the best liquorice ice cream i've ever had!

Very nice place with normal prices and good food. Friendly staff and no wait. The food was also delivered very quickly.
