Hofslund Fjord Hotel AS

Smallish room but perfectly comfortable. Weird shower that soaks the whole bathroom and you need to squeegee the floor but it works. Kind of like a camper shower. Nice balcony with view from the end once you walk out. Looked like there are rooms with direct views as well. Beautiful grounds with an easy walk along the fjord and into town. Good breakfast. There are a couple of car charging spaces which is nice but once you move out of that there isn’t much parking. We were there before the high season and were lucky to get a space.

Nice hotel; old fashioned on the outside, modernised inside. It has an outdoor heated pool for whenever the weather permits (it didn’t during our stay). The breakfast buffet is very good. They have an EV charging station, and even supply the charging cables if your rental vehicle doesn’t come with one.

Beautiful views and beautifully decorated rooms! Great location for checking out the area! Really enjoyed being able to walk along the fjord right outside the hotel as well.

Overall if you know what you're getting going into it, this is a nice hotel. It is historic, original, and in a unique location so expect that. It looks beautiful and has a great view right on the fjord. There is a heated pool, row boats, and other fun amenities. Location is convenient next to a grocery store and a few blocks from a nice brewpub on the water. A few things stood out: -Food and Drink: Breakfast here was ok. Nothing amazing but more than enough to fill us up before heading out for the day. The bar had a nice selection for an evening cocktail to enjoy with a view of the water -Rooms: Expect the rooms to reflect the time period, which I thought was cool. There was not AC so just plan on keeping your door/windows open for a while before bed. The major shortfall for us was some noise due to our room facing the roundabout and the windows not blocking anything out. So maybe ask the front desk where you'll be located, have a drink or two before bed, and bring earplugs, white noise app

We had a 3 night stop here during June 24. As our visit was at short notice we had 2 nights in a Top Floor Superior Room and 1 night in a ground floor double garden facing room. Both are of an excellent standard. The staff were very welcoming and friendly to us and the location, overlooking the Fjord, is fabulous. It is a great base for exploring the local area and you would never tire of the views. Close to everything you might need in town including shops and restaurants (plus, in our case, a VW Main Dealer Garage).

Great staff, odd interior decor. Rooms very small, drains not clean, in great need of refurbishment. Breakfast was basic but fine. Walls were very thin, we were woken multiple times throughout the night by kids crying.

Very nicely situated on the fjord, awesome view. Very old hotel though, badly smelling bathroom (canalisation odors) and even letting them know they didn't react. Shower too small, curtain sticking to the body making wash impossible. Breakfast average. Staff nice enough but overwhelmed. Pity because the view is brilliant.
