While exploring the area, we came across the Hohe Tauern National Park Information Centre in Mittersill, and it turned out to be a great find. This interactive museum offers fascinating insights into the national park, including its wildlife, landscapes, and ecosystems. One of the highlights was the 3D cinema experience, which brought the beauty of the park to life in an engaging way. It’s a great spot for families, as there are plenty of interactive displays that kids will enjoy. You can easily spend an hour or two here learning about the park before heading out to explore the real thing. The centre also has a coffee shop and a gift shop, making it a nice place to take a break. There’s ample parking right outside, and from there, it’s an easy walk into Mittersill’s town centre, making it a convenient stop while in the area. Definitely worth a visit if you’re nearby!

Great spot to spend hour or two and learn about Austria's biggest national park. Expositions are interesting and made also in english (except for 3d cinema) so it's not an issue if you don't speak german. If you are going to Hohe Tauern and passing town of Mittersil I would definetely recommend to stop by.

Very interesting centre, packed with information. Perfect when the weather is not ideal for walking in the mountains. Plenty to keep kids entertained, with interactive exhibits. All the information boards are in German and English. The English translations are good (which definitely isn't the case everywhere in the region). The 3D cinema show is good, but we couldn't get the English audio to work (uses a QR code).

Visited on July 4th on our way back from Krimml waterfalls. It is nice little museum. Their 360° movie theater was great. We were limited by the time and could spend there only an hour but for comfortable visit I recommend to allow about 2 hours. We took bus 670 that runs every hour on weekdays but free parking is available. Walk from the bus stop is about 450 meters.

We only came here for just under an hour after a trip to the waterfalls. It’s an impressive place and we were able to still soak up most of it in the time we had there. Yes, the glacier was a key highlight!

Most Amazing waterfalls I have seen. Sightseeing spots here and there on the trail and the trail was in good condition despite it has been raining a lot here. And places to rest and buy some drinkit & food. Recommended.

We had two people in wheelchairs. This place was very accessible and interactive throughout. I would recommend this to anyone with mobility issues. The exhibits were very well done. We all loved it. Excellent 360 exhibit. Good food.
