"Heads up in Hoi An Markets throughout the world yield beautiful travel photos of meats and produce arrayed in dazzling patterns of eye-popping color. The market in Hoi An, Vietnam , is no different--in parts. But this fish monger was hard at work cutting up the day's catch, reminding us that this is really all about putting fresh food on the plate."

A Place to eat LOCAL Vietnamese food, fantastic... many local food, just choose any that you feel like it, price all the same, no overcharge (basically 1 person own a few shops) Food : 4.5/5 (minus some of flies) Service : 4.5/5 just because they push too hard to sell you the food. But hey this is the local to ask tourist to eat at their place. Athmosphere : 5/5 authentic old market for me. There is a well outside the market. Overall, must visit place.

About a third of the market hall is made up of food stalls, another third is dry goods, and the last third is fresh produce. It’s a very local experience—a real look into how goods are supplied to local households. I’m glad I took the time to sit down for a bowl of noodles and just watch the local hustle and bustle. It was such a rich and rewarding experience!

Stunning experience magical at night really comes to life with all the lanterns around Hoi An. Beautiful silk fabrics, I actually purchased several silk lanterns to take back to New Zealand. Vendors are all lovely to deal with, not pushy. Had an excellent suit tailored with 2 different colored dress shorts in less than 30 hours, for only $113 nzd. Unbelievable value and a great fit. River boat cruise to lay lanterns was an amazing experience and very affordable at only $12 nzd for my own skippered boat with comfortable deck chairs, even cheaper per person in groups.

It's really fun to walk around and see all the shops and vendors. Kinda has a New Orleans vibe with the architecture. Definitely recommend!

Lovely market for an evening stroll. Very nice ambience with soft classical music playing on some streets. We visited in early March, and the night was pleasantly cool with a nice breeze. Worth a visit, but if you plan to purchase anything, make sure you drive a hard bargain. Vendors are known for inflating prices in this market.

Hoi An Market is a good place to walk and shop. Similar to other markets in Vietnam, merchants tend to ask for an elevated price. It’s perfectly fine to negotiate. Anyone telling you it’s not okay is lying. 😂

Absolutely the most colorful and diverse market I have ever been to. Although very crowded, the atmosphere is peaceful and charming. I also recommend visiting the food section, where I had a great meal.

Hoi An's markets, particularly the Central Market and Night Market, offer an unparalleled sensory experience, deeply rooted in Vietnamese culture. From vibrant food stalls to exquisite handicraft displays, they are a must-visit for anyone seeking an authentic glimpse into local life. Must-Visit for Tailoring and Handicrafts: Hoi An is globally renowned for its exceptional tailoring services, where skilled artisans can custom-make suits, dresses, and shoes in a matter of days, often with incredibly swift turnaround times. Beyond bespoke fashion, the markets are a treasure trove of traditional Vietnamese handicrafts, including iconic silk lanterns, intricate wood carvings, and hand-embroidered textiles. A Different Fashion Landscape: While not competing with the high-fashion runways of Italy or France, Hoi An offers a unique niche: affordable, high-quality bespoke clothing. Unlike the ready-to-wear luxury of Milan or Paris, Hoi An provides a personalized fashion experience, where garments are crafted to individual measurements and preferences, making it a distinctive destination for custom-made attire. The focus here is on craftsmanship and value, rather than brand names. Culinary Delights and Cultural Immersion: Beyond shopping, the markets are a culinary paradise, serving up local delicacies like Cao Lau, Banh Mi, and Quang noodles. The lively atmosphere, filled with the sounds of bargaining and traditional music, provides a rich cultural immersion, offering a genuine insight into the daily routines and friendly spirit of the local people. A Unique Shopping Experience: Hoi An's markets stand out for their blend of history, artistry, and bustling local life. The charm of bartering, the vibrant display of goods under the glow of colorful lanterns, and the opportunity to interact directly with artisans create a truly unique and memorable shopping adventure, distinct from any other fashion market in the world.
