Hoi An Night Market is a nice spot for an evening walk and soaking in the atmosphere. It’s lively, colorful, and great for strolling around after sunset. You’ll find plenty of options to eat local food, grab tea or coffee, and sit down at some really good restaurants nearby.
That said, not everything there is worth the money. The leather shops inside the market are noticeably expensive. If you’re planning to buy leather products, it’s much better to shop outside the night market where prices are more reasonable and quality is just as good, if not better.
The boat ride is something I personally wouldn’t recommend. It’s overpriced for what you get, and the experience feels rushed. The aunties selling candles can be very pushy, which takes away from the charm. Honestly, it’s better to click a few photos, enjoy the view, and move on.
There are also many lantern shops, but be aware that some charge 10,000 VND per person just for photos or videos, which feels excessive. Almost everything in this area is heavily monetised, often without adding much value to the experience.
Overall, Hoi An Night Market is worth visiting once for the walk, food, and vibes, but go in with realistic expectations and spend your money wisely.
