Hole in the Mountain Farm - Kauai Sugarloaf Pineapple (Not open to the public- only tours with reservations)

One of the highlights of our Kauai trip. Not only did we get to finally try to Sugarloaf pineapple, we got to plant and harvest one! We learned a lot about growing pineapples and look forward to growing our own at home now. Even our 6 and 8 yo enjoyed it. They are reciting things they learned from Jude to friends. Jude was very welcoming to her farm. It made us feel like a local just chatting with neighbors. Really encapsulate the aloha spirit. Highly recommend!

A very informative tour with delicious treats and beautiful views, plus feeling “I just planted a pineapple at Kauai” afterwards. Along the way you will hear fascinated Hawaiian stories. BTW, here comes the math: 2 organic white pineapples could cost over $70 at the stores (one you can take home, many slices you can taste after the tour) and a delicious pineapple frosty is easily $10 at the farmers market. GO!

We had a great time on the pineapple farm tour. Paul, the owner, is very knowledgeable, friendly and inviting. He regaled us with stories from his past and his circuitous journey from SoCal teen to Kauai Pineapple Farmer. He showed us how to plant, pick and eat pineapple in 3 forms: fresh, dried, and frozen as a dessert.

Had a great time visiting and touring this pineapple farm during our visit to Kauai. The owners are friendly and welcoming to visitors. The tour was fantastic and informative. They talk through the history of the farm and what it takes to grow pineapples. As for the pineapples, I have never been a fan of the yellow pineapples but these white sugarloaf pineapples are amazing, we will be taking a few back home with us. Highly recommend the tour and the pineapples.

Jude is a national treasure. We really enjoyed the tour - best pineapple we have ever tasted! The tour is interactive and will keep little ones engaged. Jude’s stories were interesting, funny, and informational. A terrific way to spend a morning on Kauai. Thank you for opening your farm to us!

The tour was incredible and the pineapples tasted fantastic! We got to plant a pineapple and harvest one to keep (looking forward to eating that later)! Jude showed us around the pineapple farm and she was great!

THE BEST PINEAPPLE ever… I was a Maui Gold pineapple guy, but no more…. This place is awesome… wish I could work here. Paul & Jude are the owners and the tour guides. The info Paul give us on his tour was so informative. It was forecasted for heavy rains for today and got an email yesterday saying they may have to cancel the tour due the forecast. I was so bummed, but woke up, got there email and was told the tour is still on….Yeaaaaaa…I did not care if it was raining or sunshine… It was just a very lite drizzle of rain when we got there, they supplied us with umbrellas to use, so glad, cuz as the tour was progressing, so was the rain…But we finished the tour, ate a lot of this wonderful pineapple and was drenched…It was alot of fun… a time I will always remember. I just ordered myself some of these pineapples to be shipped to me.

We stumbled upon a sugarloaf pineapple at the farmers market our first day and after tasting it, looked for more information about it. That’s when I found the farm and the tour, so we booked it. What a fun way to spend an afternoon! We got to learn all about how pineapple grows, and Jude (one of the owners) shared all kinds of informative and entertaining stories about their journey. We got to plant pineapple and we were also treated to fresh picked, delicious fruit. We finished the tour with a pineapple ice cream that is 100% pineapple and amazing. We also each got to pick and keep a small fruit.
