Holiday Inn Aktau, an IHG Hotel

I recently stayed at Holiday Inn Aktau and had a wonderful experience. The location is fantastic, situated right near the seashore. The staff was incredibly welcoming and attentive, always ready to assist with any requests. The room was clean, and well-equipped with amenities. I highly recommend anyone visiting this hotel. It offers an exceptional level of service.

Room was great, in line for what is expected at this price. Staff interaction was strange though, on arrival to the hotel, we were asked if we had a reservation, we did not, so we asked to book a room, the staff member said there were no rooms available. We checked online, there were rooms available so we booked one there instead... Very odd that a front desk clerk would refuse to sell a room...

Breakfast was adequate and rooms were clean despite a less than stellar sea view. I had a situation where someone had unlocked my door with their key card at 5 in the morning and attempted to enter but was not able to do so because my door was latched. I was unimpressed when the service staff’s explanation was that there was a reset in the security system at that time and the person who attempted to open my door was probably a drunk guest. I had expected far superior service from a family-run guesthouse instead of just a flippant explanation.

The room was very comfortable and had everything you need. The hotel is centrally located and very easy to walk to bars, restaurants and the sea. We had trouble with the WiFi dropping out and we could not find a way to make the shower hot. P.s. there are some photos of a pool on Google maps. That is the other Holiday Inn, in the north of Akatu, not this hotel

I liked the location and the clean, modern and spacious room. Nice big bathroom. WiFi a bit unstable, some staff at the reception wasn’t the friendliest maybe because the rather poor English

Great for short a business trips to Aktau. Nice location and cleanliness. However couldn’t eat after midnight, had to search for delivery from town, which is not great too. For this level of hotel I’d expect 24/7 dining services. Also there was no iron and fridge in the room.

We usually use Holiday Inn for quick sleepovers as it is comfy enough and we know what we are getting into. Something like McD of hotels of sorts? The room was ok size, the bed was comfy and here the good things end. The sound insulation just wasn't there at all? We could hear the cars on the street. We could hear the radios of the cars on the street. Loudly. There was a disco either directly in the hotel or somewhere nearby. We could not only hear it but FEEL it. As we have booked the hotel for sleepover before early morning flight so we can get some good rest before long journey - this hotel completely FAILED. We couldn't sleep at all. It was so loud that i could hear the disco through my noice cancelling headphones. To add to our extreme disappointment we have asked the hotel staff if they can reschedule the breakfast for us for the day of arrival (early flight in, early flight out). I don't know why but this was unsolvable problem. How hard is it to move us from one day to another? We didn't want extra breakfast for free or anything like that - just to enjoy it on the day of arrival. As alternative we were offered "lunch box" containing sad looking apple, bottle of water, disgusting sandwich from day before, yogurt and quite tasty but small brownie. I guess they just wanted to get rid of stuff people didn't finish the previous day. So really 1* experience. Far from any other Holiday Inn I've ever been to. Oh and i almost forgot - amenities were prepared for one person only so we had to rectify with the reception.

On arrival staff were very welcoming and attentive. the rooms were very good in terms of comfort asnd very clean. The shower was superb and the towels for a business hotel were surprisingly good. nice little touches were the welcoming note and the provision of items you may have forgotten. Complimentary drinking water was provided. in general very comfortable. Service levels were very high. i liked the bar. it was also a convenient meeting place.
