The only quality this hotel offered was the staff. They managed to juggle multiple positions at once: registration, bar, restaurant, etc. Dominic was quite hospitable. The room was lacking. There was no mattress cover (hygnically unsanitary) sheets; poorly tucked in. LVP was cold. Our IHG status was in no way observed , in fact others received more amenities than we did.

I recently stayed at the Holiday Inn Schuman Brussels and was impressed by the clean, comfortable rooms with high-quality bedding, friendly + helpful staff, delicious breakfast, and central location near government buildings, cafés, drugstores, grocery stores, Metro, etc. Also the breakfast accommodates special diets (gluten free, vegan, etc.) Also there is a fridge and safe in the room. I would stay there again for sure. Not to do with the hotel but there is some construction going on about a block away in a roundabout so I would leave extra time for walking excursions in that direction but it was not loud.

When we returned from dinner, our room turned out to be occupied by two other people who were lying in our bed. Our personal belongings were still in the room at that moment. The hotel has also not been responsive to requests to resolve this, despite repeated follow ups. The least you should be able to expect from a hotel is that your room is yours and that there are no strangers in your bed among your belongings.

Shout out to Laurent for accommodating and address our concerns. Got free drinks for status and you can also get more free drinks if you choose not to have housekeeping for the day. The bar offers great varieties. In room use Rituals amenities which smell amazing and luxurious. Carrefour - the grocery store is right around the corner, couple good restaurants within walking distance, and 2 parks nearby. The only cons is a bit far from Center city (Grand Place area where all the fun happens). We spent $11-14 one way.

We stayed here for 3 days and everything was perfect. All the staff were friendly, kind, and helpful. The hotel is a little bit far from the city center, but it’s very close to Schuman train station, so the distance to the center wasn’t an issue for us. If we come to Brussels again, we will definitely choose this place.

Worst experience at Holiday Inn Brussels Schuman. The morning staff member was extremely unhelpful and rude. I explained several times that I suffer from asthma and cannot tolerate dust, but she did absolutely nothing. The next day, when I asked why no one came to clean the room, she told me it was “not her problem” and that she had already informed housekeeping – her attitude was extremely unprofessional. Housekeeping only attempted to clean around 6:00 PM, just as we returned exhausted from traveling and needed to rest. We had to refuse at that time, but later when we requested cleaning (an hour or less after calling), the response we got was shockingly rude. The room itself was full of dust, very small compared to the price paid, and lacked even basic amenities like tissues. The only positive point was that at least there were clean towels. I found old food in my fridge You have to ask for water Overall, a terrible stay that does not match the price or the standards expected from Holiday Inn.

I returned to this hotel after nine years since my last stay. The check-in process was very smooth - quick, friendly, and hassle-free. At first, this gave me hope for a pleasant stay. Unfortunately, I soon realized that nothing had really changed in the hotel over the years. No renovations or even minor refurbishments had been carried out, and the place clearly needs both investment in infrastructure and better management.||I stayed for two nights. The first problem appeared right after booking - exactly the same issue I had nine years ago. As a Platinum member of IHG, I once again had to ask for any benefits at all. At first, I was denied an upgrade, and only after exchanging a few messages was I assigned what was said to be a slightly better room, number 205. It was on the second floor, with a bathtub and a balcony overlooking the courtyard. However, this was not what I had asked for - I wanted a higher floor and a city view.||The room itself left a lot to be desired. The walls and floors were visibly worn, some furnishings were heavily used and not entirely clean. The bathroom door didn’t have a lock, which simply shouldn’t happen in a hotel of this class. Even worse, the reservation was for two people, but the room was prepared as if for one. We found only one set of towels, one small carton of water, and the tissue dispenser was empty and left open, as if someone had forgotten to refill it. The bathroom also lacked hair conditioner. The toiletries were Dove products, which is clearly below the standard usually seen in Holiday Inn, where branded hotel amenities are the norm.||There were also issues with benefits. As a Platinum guest, I should have received a voucher for free drinks for two people. Instead, I was given just one. I was told I would get additional vouchers in the morning for opting out of housekeeping, but they never arrived. At reception, I was told I could simply go to the bar and collect them there.||So we went to the bar on Sunday around 6:10 p.m. - only to face another surprise. At this hotel, the drink voucher policy is different from most IHG properties. Normally, one voucher covers drinks for two guests staying in the same room. Here, however, one voucher was valid only for a single person. As a result, we ended up with vouchers for two drinks instead of four.||We ordered a non-alcoholic virgin mojito and a pizza. And this is where the real ordeal began. We waited an hour and a half for the drinks, and the pizza… never arrived at all. After two hours, we gave up and went to Carrefour nearby to buy some snacks.||The bar was run by just one person, who at the same time was also handling reception and the kitchen. I understand the difficult situation, but the absolute minimum is to maintain order and serve people in the order they arrived. Unfortunately, we were practically ignored. Guests who came after us received their orders within 20-30 minutes, while we kept being pushed to the very end. To make matters worse, at one point the staff member disappeared outside, and guests couldn’t find him anywhere. For us, it all ended in major disappointment - chaos, disorganization, and a total lack of standards.||The hotel’s location is one of the few positives. It’s quiet and peaceful, yet very well situated. Nearby are the buildings of the European Parliament and the European Commission, as well as parks, shops, restaurants, and a metro station. In this respect, there’s nothing to complain about.||Check-out was lightning fast - it took just a minute. The invoice arrived straight to my email, and the staff were polite and professional. A positive way to end the stay, although it unfortunately does not make up for the earlier issues. We also weren’t asked about our impressions of the stay.

The hotel is cozy and well equipped. Staffs are friendly and helpful. Its location is a few stations from the major attractions and restaurants, but would also be an advantage to have a safer and quiet place to stay.

Yelp
Small adequate room in the European Quarter. Not necessarily a great location BUT you are near Schuman stop on the metro line so you can be near anything with just a metro ticket :) Clean hotel and friendly front desk staff. Affordable and they do have a bar with restaurant. Our safe in our room was broken but my husband fixed it. Allowed check in upon arrival at 11:30am on a Friday. Thankfully!

Yelp
I'm not sure where to start First: the room we were assigned was obviously not ready (still had unmade bed from previous stay) Second: the room we were reassigned to, the key card did not work Third: there were no curtains in our room, only sheers, so nothing to make it dark Fourth: the dinner was mediocre at best, barely warm and mostly gravy Fifth: the price was outrageous, we have stayed in much nicer hotels that were half the cost as this Very disappointed

Yelp
Hard to find a good deal for a family of 4 as far as hotels go- we got 2 very nice rooms for a total of 128€ and I thought that was a good deal for a last minute booking. Careful- their 8 car parking lot is 24€ per 24 hours, but parking on street seemed to be free at the weekends. Breakfast was 15€ per adult kids free, looked nice but we didn't eat it. Rooms were comfortable and nice, liked the deco for once it was not kitsch! Only real complaint was the stray hair or two found in the tub, but I haven't had a hotel room in 5 years that didn't have that (maybe it is my pet peeve?)... There is a small grocery store near by (Carrefour) I'd def. stay here again. VERY close to metro.
