This Holiday Inn has a bit of work to do before they get my business again. I stayed for several nights this month. The Good News: The rooms were a tad outdated, but were clean and I felt safe. The beds were comfortable. The staff was very friendly and bent over backwards to solve any problems. Now the bad news: On arrival the hot water didn't exist in my room, even after running it for about 15 minutes. It was (barely) warm enough for a shower the next morning and fine for the remainder of my stay. There was a major glitch with the breakfast: THERE WAS NO MEAT for 3 days! The pancake maker was out of service, there were no yoghurt cups, etc., etc. Staff said that the order didn't come in and they hoped it would be here "tomorrow". One of the reasons I stay at Holiday Inn is for the quality and type of breakfast. Sigh.... It seems like no one was empowered to run to Costco with petty cash and grab a couple pounds of bacon and some yoghurt. I understand that they have a new Operations Manager, who was sincerely trying to untangle various problems, but that will take some time. As my Aunt would say "confession is good for the soul, but mighty hard on the grade book." I'll give the place a "5" for friendliness and a 2 for a relaxing stay.

my husband and I stayed at the Holiday Inn express in Carson City because we are moving to Sparks Nevada from Washington state. When we arrived, we were greeted and welcome to. We were awful offer bottles of water or choice of beverage. We were also offered goodies in our bag plus a snack, which was a really nice surprise. Our room was clean. It was comfortable. The bed was comfortable. We had an excellent stay. The staff really made us feel welcome and as if we were their friends. It is really making the move to Sparks Nevada a pleasant experience if you are planning on visiting Carson City, Lake, Tahoe, Reno or Sparks I would really recommend staying at the Carson City Holiday Inn express.

Positive: Location of the hotel is good, dry near to NV side of Lake Tahoe and plenty of good restaurants near by Negative: 1. Food could be better, there are very few choices2. AC did not work well. 65 deg didn’t cool the room.3. Room did not smell good4. TV was not flat screen, but the satellite TV was good5.

We had such a wonderful stay in Carson City! The staff was super friendly and very helpful (and the cookies were yummy!). Our room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable. The breakfast was delicious and fresh. Highly recommend a stay here!

Staff and cleanliness were very good. However, there were other major issues. There was no hot water in my room on the first night. It got better later in my stay. There was no meat for breakfast for 3 days, just potatoes and eggs, with sausage gravy and biscuits on one day. Yoghurt, eggs and some juices were also MIA. The pancake maker was DRT (dead right there). They said that their food order didn't come in. Regardless of the cause, someone in management should have made alternate arrangements for food. (Hint: There is a large grocery store just down the road). My room was made up after my first night, but not for the next 2 nights. The gave me clean towels at the front desk, but no one told me that rooms weren't serviced each day. The property itself is showing it's age and is in need of update. I believe that they have a new operations manager. Hopefully, she can get things back on track. However, I will need to see a lot of positive reviews before I return. They added a few points to my account for the water trouble, but that doesn't account for the massive breakfast mess. Again, great, friendly staff who tried very hard. Horrible organization, and maintenance!

For whatever reason my key card kept resetting and not working. Was locked out of the back of the building when there was no parking available in front. Was locked out of my room after trying to return from the gym. Unfortunately with my many trips to the front desk i encountered multiple other people having the same problem.. Now let’s move to the real problem, breakfast. By far the worst breakfast experience I’ve ever had. Most everything they were out of and what they did have was undoubtedly being recycled into the buffet multiple days in a row. Biscuits dark brown and hard as a rock, scrambled eggs were crusty and basically rubber, and the white sausage gravy was brown and old. No waffle maker, toaster didn’t work properly, they had some hot cinnamon rolls which were also hard and pathetic. I’m not one to write reviews but as i like to read them when i book a place I think my input really matters here because this place was pretty bad. I will say the room was clean, the bed was comfy and they had a decent gym and pool so if management can fix the other issues it would be like the standard holiday inn you’d expect.

Stayed overnight before trip to Lake Tahoe, when we checked in on the 17 March the receptionist that served us she was very polite and knowledgeable about the area (we were lost) & gave us direction to our destination. Rooms are large & modern, with mini fridge, microwave, large bathroom, free parking & breakfast. This hotel was probably better than most large hotels due to 1. Cleaning 2. Amenities in the room

This was by far the worst stay in ANY hotel property we had experienced! The front desk agent, Angelique (sp?) was lacking in both professionalism and knowledge. She was willing to CANCEL our room, rather than provide a common courtesy of answering our questions. She then provided the wrong room keys, forcing us to come back to a crowded lobby and wait once again while my husband, our dog and our belongings stayed outside the hotel room door waiting. However, beyond this terrible check-in experience, was the absolutely filthy hotel room we walked into. the bed looked like someone had been rolling around in it and the floor was so dirty we did not remove our shoes. But the ultimate offense was the BATHROOM! I have taken many photos and video to substantiate our complaints of this unacceptable condition of our room. The bathtub was so disgusting and literally black with filth! The jets from the tub were black with mold and hair (also have close up photos). The toilet was not cleaned and it looked like someone(s) had already used our room and then were moved to another room after complaining. However, when we complained and informed the front desk attendant of the situation she said that she could check us out but there were no other rooms to move us to! She said that she was not the manager and if we wanted to complain we would have to talk to him in the morning after 10am. She was short with us and unaccommodating to say the least. We insisted that she note our room with the issues and have a manager contact us asap. She said that she would, but no one ever called. We literally slept in our clothes on top of the bed. We could not shower after driving 10 hours on the road and facing another 9 hours before arriving home. We called again in the morning, but there was no manager. We left at 7:30am, without anyone willing to help or even show a professional courtesy to us!! We are so highly disappointed and outraged by this experience and demand something be done to reimburse us for this one night stay and reach out to show some professional decorum.

Stayed again for work. Got assigned the same room as the last time I stayed. Everything went well. Breakfast is subpar, but hey it's free so cant really complain.

Yelp
My friend and I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Carson City, NV on 2/24/25 for one night. We drove up from Mammoth Lakes, CA for her medical appointment. My husband and I have stayed in this hotel before and never had any issues. The rooms are very clean with comfortable beds. At our assigned room (208) the door handle was broken so card keys would not allow entry. We went down to the front desk and got new cards, but still didn't work. Went back down and had young man at desk come up to try and after many attempts he was able to open the door. He asked us if we'd like a new room or would we wait for a maintenance person to come. We said we'd wait as we had to use the bathroom. We did not unpack and just sat on the beds waiting for a maintenance person, but after 35 minutes called down to the desk. A young woman answered and told us maintenance said they couldn't do anything, so I asked why someone at the front desk didn't inform us since we had been waiting. We asked for a new room (206) and she told us to come down and get the key cards, but I asked her to bring them up to us since all our stuff was in the hallway, so she did. There was no Kleenex tissues in either bathroom and we had to get some from the front desk, twice. Upon making our reservation I had inquired if the indoor pool was open since we both love to swim and were told it was, but when we arrived, there were repairmen working on the heater so the pool wasn't available. We went to breakfast in the lobby at 8:30 the next morning (which was terrible, btw and my friend who is diabetic couldn't eat anything...all I could stomach was two sweet rolls). My friend forgot her glasses in the room and went back, but couldn't get in! I tried my card, it flashed red for a moment and I couldn't unlock the door either. After breakfast, we got new cards at the desk, got back in the room and packed up. I went to the front desk to get my receipt and relayed all of this to Chantea (sp.?) the Acting General Manager while the manager Hattie Gettis was out of town. I asked if it was possible to get a full refund or at least a comp for a future reservation. She said she was not authorized to do that, but gave me Hattie's card and said she would relay all this information to her and I should hear back in a few days. I did not hear anything from the GM for two days after I returned home, so I emailed her and below was her reply on 2/27/25 which was not satisfactory. I/we will not be staying at this hotel again. "Thank you for reaching out and sharing the details of your recent stay with us. I sincerely apologize for the inconveniences you experienced, including the issues with the room door, the lack of Kleenex, the pool being unavailable, and the disappointing breakfast experience. I understand how frustrating it must have been, and I appreciate your patience throughout these challenges. I also apologize for the lack of communication regarding the maintenance situation and the confusion with the room key cards. This is certainly not the experience we aim to provide for our guests. I understand your concerns and want to assure you that we take this seriously. I will personally follow up with our team to ensure that the issues you described are shared and used as an opportunity to coach so that these types of infractions do not happen in the future. We value your loyalty to our hotel and thank you again for your feedback. We truly hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back in the future under better circumstances. Kind Regards Hattie G"

Yelp
First time here, stayed for 2 nights. I've stayed at dozens of Holiday Inn Expresses and this one is just OK. Rooms were clean except for dirty fingerprints on the bathroom light switch. Parking was adequate. Staff was friendly. Breakfast is your typical HIE breakfast but the server puts the tongs in water so any food particles will fall off and contaminate the water which the tongs go back into. Kind of gross. Breakfast is served at 6am which is good for early risers but maybe tell the guests that it's served at 7am on Sundays? Overall, not a bad stay but I've had much better stays at dozens of other HIE's.

Yelp
This is not a good hotel to stay at if you're planning on visiting Carson City. We live close by in Reno, but due to a fire, we had to evacuate, and this was the only hotel open that night due to the large evacuation zone caused by the fire. We stayed at other hotels during the fire, and they offered us a discounted rate of 75 dollars and waived parking and pet fees due to the fire. This hotel was not caring like the other hotels and charged us a pet fee and a standard rate knowing that we were an evacuee. The room was dirty and had crumbs on the bed and floor, the beds were stiff. Breakfast in the morning was cold and there was not a lot of options to choose from. Would not stay here again...

Yelp
STAY AWAY!!! This property has bed bugs!! Our friends have video of actual bugs on one of their beds so we called to tell them we would not be staying. We canceled our reservation and are still trying to get a refund, but the property won't take our calls or even speak to their own IHG customer representative! I plan on escalating this issue with the health department and all other necessary entities. Terrible way of doing business. Stay far, far away!

Yelp
The worst hotel experience I have ever had. From the moment I walked into my room, I was disgusted. The room was poorly maintained, and to make matters worse, my key card repeatedly stopped working. Each time I went to the front desk for help, I had to deal with Barbra, who was not only unhelpful but shockingly rude. When I asked for a simple fork because the restaurant I ordered from forgot to include one, Barbra told me to go back to the restaurant to get one and then laughed. This level of disrespect was appalling. To top it all off, when I asked to switch rooms due to the poor state of the one I was given, Barbra took it upon herself to check me out of the hotel entirely, cancel my reservation, and refuse to refund the remaining nights I had paid for. This hotel's staff clearly has no regard for customer service or basic decency. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Stay far, far away.

Yelp
First, I did not stay here, my 2 best friends from TX did for the weekend for my surprise Birthday!! I was in their room allot and the desk guy recognized me every time I came in to visit and hang out with them. Well on Dec 10th my actual birthday I went to their room and they told me to come down and eat breakfast with them. Now this was an actual nice breakfast set up for a Hotel. It always has 1 meat, that day was bacon, these miniature egg n cheese omelets, a pancake cooker that would make 2 at a time and drop them on your plate, kinda like an easy bake oven lol. Biscuits, gravy, cereals, fruits, yogurts, milk, orange juice, hot coffee and all the fixens for everything. We were going to a restaurant for lunch with about 10 of us, so I ate light. I had 1 biscuit with gravy, 1 mini egg n cheese omelet and some bacon. A hot cup of coffee and a glass of milk. Now the rooms are quite nice as well, with a larger TV than most hotels. The front desk staff was always really nice upon entering and leaving. The hotel is clean and has a nice lobby restroom. Its right by the freeway and close to most of Carsons entertainment and restaurants. Around the corner from The Carson Tahoe Hospital. So if you are looking for a nice place with a really good continental breakfast, I highly recommend them.

Yelp
This is one of the better holiday inns in the area. Big rooms, updated bath and a great breakfast spread. There was a weird smell in the corridor on the first floor which was a bit off putting. We found the spa quite relaxing after a long day of hiking.

Yelp
I do not even know where to start with this review...my boyfriend and I checked in on Sunday 11/10 and the lady at the front desk was very kind, but Monday 11/11 was a completely different story. I exited my 3rd floor room around 8:50 am for breakfast and when I opened the room door, there was a man directly across from my room gowning up in a PPE suit and he had a jug of BED BUG spray!! I immediately went back into my room and started inspecting the bed, luckily there wasn't anything. I then went down to the front desk and spoke to Maria about moving rooms even though we were checking out in a few hours. There is no way I wanted to risk bring ONE bed bid bug home with me. Maria stated she was from "task force" and told me there was a black widow in the room and that she because she's "task force", she's living on the 3rd floor and she assured me there weren't any bed bugs. We went back and forth a quick minute and she told me there were black widows on the 2nd so I decided to give her the benefit of the doubt and went to eat breakfast. It is now 9am and I'm in the breakfast area and there is no hot breakfast. I asked if they were going to bring out more eggs/meat/biscuits and the answer was no. They were done serving hot breakfast even though there was still a half hour left of breakfast. There were also others there for hot breakfast who weren't getting any or seconds. All they had left was some bread for toast, a couple of dry English muffins, and I think some hard boiled eggs. They did end bringing out some biscuits for biscuits and gravy but that was it. So I had biscuits and gravy, juice, and coffee and the whole time I was sitting there, I kept thinking about the guy getting into a PPE suit with bed bug spray for one black widow. It's ridiculous. My old house had black widows outside everywhere and they don't die easily with spider spray. You just have to smash them. I should have trusted my gut that Maria was full of bullsh*t. I went back to my room, gathered our things, and met my boyfriend in the lobby where we waited for our Uber. While waiting, a very unsatisfied guest came in wanting a refund. They were staying there with their son's swim team and checked out a day early because they didn't have clean towels (they had printed signs asking guests to bring first towels down for clean ones) and when they brought their dirty towels down, they were put on a waitlist for clean towels! She also said another family checked out early because of BED BUGS!!! Maria from Taskforce was did nothing to try to deescalate the issue and only made the situation worse. Maria was yelling at the guest/customer and made zero effort to help with a solution. The lady wanted her $800 back and all Maria had to do was work with her or come up with a fair solution. She didn't do either. All she did was repeat that she was "Taskforce" and make excuses for every single thing the lady had issues with. The exact same thing she did to me. The lady had to leave for a swim meet and Maria from Taskforce called the police. They showed up and Maria LIED to them about everything. Everything. Our Uber arrived (22 mins later) and on our way out, we stopped and spoke briefly to the police and stated what really happened. They thanked us and we were on our way. I will NEVER stay at Holiday Inn Express in Carson City, NV again. Ever. I rather stay at Motel 6. And I will probably never stay at a Holiday Inn again and it's all because of Maria from Taskforce.

Yelp
Nice Holiday Inn Can use some upgrades and there working on it. Has a continental breakfast which wasn't bad It's right off the freeway which makes easy to get to Great customer service

Emily W.

Yelp
Very unmaintained hotel. The staff is very friendly but the hotel is very run down. The front doors are left open all day and night because there is no AC in the lobby or in the hallways. They would run out of breakfast foods (biscuits and yogurt) and not have any replacements. The back door key pad wasn't working so you would have to walk around to the front doors every time. Not to mention, our key card wasn't working half the time for our room. Housekeeping would only clean your room if requested. They didn't have enough towels so we were left with one per person with no replacements. The pool area looks so unsanitary and is falling apart. The bathroom did not have a fan so it would get very humid in there. It appears there is mold behind the bathroom door. The rooms and bathrooms are decent but I still would not recommend anyone staying here. I'm surprised this hotel is still up and running.

Yelp
I had the worst IHG hotel experience ever this week. Thinking I'd be a loyal/return customer to this establishment, I checked in Monday night for a 2 night stay. Upon check-in, I asked if my IHG Platinum preferences of high-floor and a quiet room were honored. I confirmed I was an extremely light sleeper. I was told, "yes mam, you're on the top floor and in a quiet room." I was then asked, 'what time do you plan on waking up?" I responded, "around 7." I was then told there was construction next door, but they didn't start until around 7 or 7:30. I said that shouldn't be a problem then. As I was signing in, I was then told, "any by the way, the water will be shut off tomorrow night between 11pm and 4am. I specifically said back, "okay, construction starts after 7 and water will be shut off between 11pm-3am tomorrow. That shouldn't be a problem." First night; construction started around 6am. No biggy. I survived the early awakening. Second night; OMG!!! No sleep whatsoever (even wearing ear plugs). Construction went on all night long!!! And when I say all night, I truly mean all night. The major construction site was literally 25 feet from the hotel. The back up tractor beeping alone (occurring every 30-60 seconds) was enough to make me crazy. I called the front desk sometime between 2 - 3am and was basically told; too bad so sad, "you were told on check-in there was construction." NO, I WAS NOT!!! Furthermore, when I got up around 7am to take a shower for work, THERE WAS NO WATER!! So much for it coming back on at 4am. I called the desk again. "It will probably be off until around 9:30." This didn't help since I had to be to work at 8:30am. I brushed my teeth with bottled water and drug my dead-tired, stinky arm pits to work. I then had to drive 3 hours to get back home (after not sleeping in 34 hours). I felt bad since I talked another colleague into staying here too, while 3 other nurses chose Hampton Inn. I would've followed suit had IHG scheduling advised of this site's construction or anticipated water shut off upon booking. I have to come back to Carson 2 or 3 times each year, but this experience will have me rethinking my hotel choice in the future.

Yelp
Very nice front desk staff. Acceptable breakfast (yummy Cinnamon rolls) and room was clean. However I found room to be overpriced. Kind of ugly. No real closet. Safe broken. The pool and hot tub area quite ugly. Hot tub needs resurfacing and the jets would not run for longer than 2-3 minutes. There surely must be better choices in Carson.

Yelp
Crap! Everything was booked up at the Lake for the weekend, figures it's a holiday, so we stayed down here in Carson City. It's still just a short drive on the little freeway and up to Tahoe from here. Location is not too bad, though not much in Carson City to do or see. The hotel is recently remodeled with new lighting in the rooms and carpet as well as USB ports built into the desk. The WiFi worked great, streaming Netflix on the laptop hooked to the TV. The room was clean and quiet and the AC worked well. The staff was super accommodating, getting us a room location where requested and even gave 500 reward points to forgo the housekeeping on our stay. There's an indoor pool and spa we didn't use as well as an exercise room. As with most hotels, room rates go up and down with demand and go from about $90 to over $200 on high demand weekends. The breakfast is standard Holiday Inn Express with hot entrees of biscuits and gravy, along with omelets, French Toast and sausages. The amusing automatic pancake making machine is fun to watch. For you healthy types, there's yogurt, cereal and fresh fruit as well as bagels and muffins. The fantastic cinnamon rolls are back! Gone are the awful "Cinnabon" brand rolls they had for a year! Tip for breakfast: go to breakfast early or later, just avoid 7:30 to 8:30. Too many people crowd in and eat all the food. The kitchen has a hard time keeping up, filling empty food trays and even the coffee might run out. Staffing is a little short handed at times, but hey people get sick sometimes! What I like, is sending someone to get breakfast early and bring the food back to the room so I can have breakfast in bed! So, get a room close to the breakfast area on the first floor. Holiday Inn Express is my hotel of choice, especially with the rewards club points ... free nights! This location I'll stay at only if I don't have a better choice, not because of the hotel itself, but cause it's Carson City.

Yelp
This property is very quaint and welcoming. The rooms are spacious and the bathroom was also very clean. They providing a quality body wash, shampoo and conditioner. Theres an indoor pool thats open too. They provided a continental breakfast but it was not many healthy options that they claim. The egg whites looked scary and the turkey sausage was dry. We only stayed over night. If you have an electric car, they have charging stations outside but be careful, it can get real expensive and pricey fast.

Lynn S.

Yelp
The staff were very helpful and polite. We had several unplanned scheduling changes and Matthew and his General Manager were really great at accommodating our needs. The hotel itself is clean and welcoming. Breakfast was great. We will be back!

Travis O.

Yelp
They have zero shampoo, body wash and conditioner and said they haven't had it for months. Figure it out, this is your industry. Not to mention the old and outdated dirty feeling. Go down the street to "my place". Cheaper and better, I should've never tried this place. Here's a picture of the cesspool they give you to shower in.

Yelp
Safety is a big concern here. Every outside door is either left unlocked. Or has a rock to keep it open. No one seems to care, and the front desk associates don't leave from behind the from desk. And when I say every door is propped open I mean every door except the front door.

Yelp
Traveling during covid for medical reasons. We are IHG members, so chose this motel over others in the area. The rooms were spotless and large. Very nice. We travel with our dog. I think the motel grouped all the dogs together. My dog liked that. The breakfast is "grab n go," but don't you dare touch it! Someone has to bring it to you. Choosing from 10 feet away. We brought our own breakfast and used the microwave. Just letting you know. The pool was closed. FYI. The rule in the motel was facemasks at the discretion of the guests. I wore a mask anytime I left my room. The cleaning staff wore masks, but the counter staff weren't always consistent. And guests were not either. This is subject to change at anytime, of course. We are now 4 days since staying there and still covid-free, so congratulations to the Holiday Inn Express for maintaining a healthy environment.

Yelp
I had to stay due to poor weather, the power went out for the larger portion of our stay including through the night, which meant no heat. Our window wasn't properly sealed and the wall paper was lifting, so it was freezing in our room. They planned on giving no compensation while they up-charged for New Years. Hours without amenities I paid for that the hotel doesn't while out and yet I still have to pay? The GM was rather pathetic, saying things like it was a "freak of nature" and "I was here last night to" Excuse me, you were paid to stay while I had to pay you for amenities. You frankly are so pathetic using those as excuses to screw over travelers that had few choices. This company is worth millions and couldn't give a care about safely, just a money hungry company and that has hired power hungry jerks that peaked in high school to be the front face of screwing people over. I would never recommend them. They were also the kinda management that parked under entry way so others couldn't, to keep their nice blue Lexus out of the snow while guest had to get snowed on, walk through slush and additionally drag that luggage through it.

Yelp
Yelp, can there be a zero star please? Upon check in, we were assigned a room on the first floor so I requested for upper floor and was told the rooms are pre-assigned and they are already sold out. I asked if all guests have checked-in and he said "almost" meaning he can STILL change room assignments, right? First time to experience this because in other hotels I've checked in to, the staff are more than willing to accommodate my request. And then I was told I will be charged $50 for incidental fee, refundable, yes but did not give details as to what that is for. Why, oh why? Even 4 or 5 star hotels don't do this! After checking in (too tired to argue) we went straight to the room since I also badly needed to use the toilet BUT... door keycards won't work!!!! I have to go back and forth to the front desk to report. After a few tries and changing of keycards, finally, we're in, but we can only have one keycard (he said that's the only one he can give me) and it is a keycard that got punch holes! (See photo) Could it be a master keycard? Just wondering. You think that's all? Nope, that's not all. We found out the toilet flush is not working. It was broken! We've been on the road for 10 hours and this is the least we expected. Totally... absolutely... greatly disappointed!!!

Russell P.

Yelp
Beware don't stay here. Read the reviews and responses this is an unsafe, unmaintained hotel. Horrible attitude from front desk, broken exit doors, dog area full of crap, noise, faulty AC units the list goes on. I wish I would have read the reviews before booking this hotel. Not only was it a horrible experience with incompetent staff they added unauthorized charges to my bill after my stay. Most Holiday Inn Express are safe, clean, comfortable and professional. This is a dive that should not have the Holiday sign out front. You will regret booking this hotel. If I could give negative stars I would.

Yelp
Stay dates: 08/12/19 - 08/16/19 *Recommended* *Gold Member* The service here is impeccable, compared to some of the Holiday Inn Express Hotels I have had a stay with. The room smelled really nice and was somewhat clean BUT *the duvets on the beds were not changed from the last room visit* Found sunflower seeds on the floor by the bed, crumbs scattered in random places of the room. The housekeepers had to be asked to clean the tube, sink, take the trash and sometimes to change our sheets or even just make the beds. The breakfast was great it had a wide variety of delicious foods to choose from. 24hour gym access elliptical, treadmill, exercising bike, free weights and a weight machine with many different choices to choose from ~Very wonderful~ I know new management has just taken over so here are just a few recommendations: Guests come from all around looking to stay at a hotel for an experience. There were a few times I got that here but a few times it felt like just a stay with no feeling to it. 1: Front desk: Greeting and saying have a good day is good. If you add in *Is there anything  can help you with? Or How is your stay going?* 2: Breakfast: Smiling at the customer is good. If you add *How was/is the breakfast? or even How is your stay going?* 3: Hygiene: Hygiene should be a requirement for all employees; no matter if its HIE or Management Company. *(One of the house keepers) had some visible hickeys on her neck* 4: Housekeeping: Keeping the carts stocked up before the start of cleaning the rooms will not only help to get the rooms done faster and more sufficiently, but it will also help the customers when we ask for extra of anything. Also communication is super important when dealing with what is happening at the time of the cleaning. Beds, Tubes, Sinks, and Trash all need to be taken care of during the stay of a guest, we the guests should not have to ask. Floors: (Room Carpets and Bathroom Floors need to be completely cleaned when customer leaves) Professionalism and Connection between guests and HIE employees is key to making an absolute blessing of an experience people are looking for. So on that note I would like to personally thank these 3 wonderful individuals, they made this stay bearable from the experience that we had to go through during the stay. *Front desk representative* (Grace) for following the procedures of asking if we wanted to change rooms that we denied since we already unpacked and for going to the room personally to change the comforters out for us. *I have very high expectations about customer service, Grace your service to us was absolutely amazing thank you.* P.S thank you for the note and candies *Breakfast representative* (Hannah) You took the time to remember us and made us feel welcome, great job on the breakfast. ~And~ *From the hotel managment company* (Danny) You took really good care of us by listening to what was happening and took action to make it right. You were very friendly to us and made us feel at home here at the [HIE]

Yelp
Great stay and very clean. Room had great air conditioning and beds were comfortable. Bathroom was very clean and enough room for two people. Service and lobby was great and very clean. Didn't eat breakfast that was offered free. Parking was well lighted and offered a lot of spaces. I also notice that this location was dog friendly.

Yelp
We came here during the covid crap and figured that I needed to bring Clorox wipes to wipe everything down before doing anything. Check in was pretty quick, we were the only ones there. Was disappointing that the pool and spa is still closed, but thats thanks to covid. When we walked in the room was very clean and tidy. The shower had bodywash, shampoo and conditioner. The conditioner was empty, but that is ok because we brought our own. In the morning they had breakfast to go. So we go downstairs and let the girl know what we wanted. We got oatmeal, hot chocolate and a muffin. I would stay here again, just hope the pool (indoor) would be open.

Yelp
Place was dirty and un-managed. Their Manager Chris is not cooperative at all. They will never compensate you or refund you. We lost about $380 with them. Not recommended at all.

Yelp
One of the best stag experiences we have had! The hotel is very clean. They have really nice amenities.. there is a jacuzzi and a indoor pool! My son loved it. Hot Breakfast is awesome! The staff made sure the food was well stocked. They have a cool pancake maker. The staff are polite and super helpful! We will definitely come back here for future stay. It's perfect driving distance to south tahoe or Reno! They also have a small kids table with coloring books. My toddler thought it was relaxing!! He is having a best time. I am writing this as he is enjoy his time!

Yelp
Checked in @ 3pm, room wasn't clean! Food had been left in frig, traces of toothpaste on the sink, small pieces of trash on the floor.. and the room was right adjacent to the small pool & leaking hot tub.. the screaming & noise from the pool was non-stop until they closed it at 10pm. Lots of chaotic activity in the lobby. If you like low budget, screaming kids & trashy environments, this is the place for you! That said, they did have cucumber water available in the lobby, which was refreshing.

Yelp
The room was clean. The bathroom experience was horrible. There was an air vent between our bathroom and the bathroom next door, and you could hear EVERYTHING that went on in our neighbor's bathroom, and almost everything that happened in their room. I suspect that if I had looked through the vent I could have seen into their bathroom. The girl who served the breakfast made it clear she didn't want to be there and couldn't have possibly been less friendly, but the person who checked us in couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. The grounds were well kept except for the east entrance where the people with dogs were. The lawn was completely dead, and dog poop was everywhere. I wouldn't stay here again.

Yelp
Checked in super late, and woke up this morning... jumped in the shower. Half way through, soap in my hair.... WATER TURNS OFF! I had to use ice cold bottles of water to rinse myself and the soap out of my hair! When I had my husband call down to the front desk.... They said that they didn't know what was going on. When we called them back after a bit, they still offered no response to why there was no water without warning. They seemed like they didn't care. Front desk was clueless and didn't offer any kind of solution to the problem. We still had 3 people waiting to shower.... Needless to say, we packed up and left. No water, no showers, To top it all off, they sent someone to our room to check and see if we really didn't have any water. Then, he said that he didn't know what was wrong, because he wasn't a plumber. The guy also said that THIS HAS BEEN AN ISSUE LATELY at this hotel.

Yelp
If I could give this hotel minus stars I would. We arrived on Friday @ 3:30 with our softball team, 12 rooms booked a month in advance. We were told rooms were not ready, we had to wait in the steamy hot lobby with no air for an hour before the rooms were ready. From Fri- Sun we had not hot water at all for showers, I went in person and called down to speak to the manager 4-5 time with out reaching her. We were gone most of the days at the softball field, she has yet to return my call this place is a complete dump for $200 a night & its unacceptable to not have any hot water in the rooms for 3 days.

Yelp
Ugh. I expect better of Holiday Inn Express. We have been driving all day and are too exhausted to go anywhere else. The room is not being cleaned properly. There is mold and slime in the corners of the shower and under the faucet of the sink. The carpet still has debris on it. There's filth build up in the corners. I've posted photos. The only way your room ends up like this is not cleaning properly over time.

Yelp
Honestly, I am only leaving this review because of Kevin the front desk attendant. He has been an absolute rock star from the second I walked in to everything I may have needed. I am here as an evacuate of the Tahoe fires and work for the hospital, he went out of his way to clarify my rate and helped me with any and all questions. I called down around 10 PM on my first night to request more coffee since I was up late working, expecting to just go down and pick it up. No. He insisted on bringing it up to me asked if he could get me anything else even ensured if I wanted flavored creamer... He is super thoughtful and delivers his service with a cheerful smile (even through the mask) and a very pleasant demeanor. This Holiday Inn is lucky to have him and I'm sure his efforts alone keep the guest coming back! Side note: Room is very spacious, clean, and comfortable!

Yelp
I'm glad you got things better for people , loosing that robe really shut me down....it was like feeling a hug every time I put it on. It is good to know it won't happen to anyone else .

Yelp
The walls are so thin it feels like there are none at all. You can hear every word people in adjacent rooms say, and if they are loud, it will be loud for you too. Water coming down the pipes is deafening! My apartment has thin walls, but this place takes the cake. Also, who does this?! (See photos) These things are sharp and hardly noticeable, so watch out.

Yelp
I can't believe this hotel is rated 4.1. There are hairs on the bed. All 4 of us are sleeping in 1 bed tonight because there is no available 2 beds. Not a good experience.

Mingzhu H.

Yelp
$149plus $50 for the dog not including tax, not cheap in Carson city, but very obvious that the sheets on the bed weren't changed. We paid a premium, but had to make our own bed. Asked front desk to bring the sheets and comforter cover, they didn't offer to change or apologize.

Yelp
Located near 580, so easy access. Carson takes you straight downtown, so proximity was good for finding food and gas. The room was quiet and clean, as is typical. The exterior doors don't slam that helps. Breakfast was good - pre-made small omelets, sausage, gravy, pancake batter and machine, instant oatmeal, cereals, a wide selection of bread products, juices and coffee. Never heard our neighbors. And we never heard the freeway either.

Yelp
New owners and the quality and service is reduced. New manager does not seem to care about your stay and you will be on your own. We have stayed a lot at this hotel. Not anymore. Save your sleep. Stay someplace else.

Yelp
We had a great stay. It was clean, the hospitality was friendly and it was quiet. We really couldn't have asked for a better experience . The buffet was good for what it was and was way better than having just a continental breakfast with products purchased from Costco. The AC worked which was very nice and they had black out blinds for the sun. I don't think you'd be unhappy here.

Yelp
Nice for a Holiday Inn. New construction or remodeled. Keurig coffee machine and pods in our room. Lots of outlets and USB ports to keep all our electronics charged. The breakfast is very good, especially the automatic pancake maker! Staff was very nice and friendly. We were unable to book a room in Tahoe, and it was an easy commute to the lake each day (at least for a Californian). Downsides: It appears to be a woodframe three story building so not a lot of sound proofing. We could easily hear people talking in the nearby rooms and halls. The pitter-patter of happy feet above us got us up earlier than we had hoped. Also, the air conditioners are under the windows (old school style) and are not the quietest. Lastly, and leastly, the front desk area looked more like a convenience store counter than a check-in desk at t hotel. Lighting was very surgical and unappealing.

Yelp
We stayed on a weekend when they were fully booked, as was just about every hotel in the Tahoe/Carson City area. Pros: *Our room was immaculate and very modern in decor / lighting. They even have that behind-the-TV light that's so popular these days. *Housekeeping staff here are a group of rock stars! I don't know how much they pay them, but it's not enough. They were ALL friendly and helpful, and I cannot emphasize how clean they kept not only the rooms, but the halls, lounge and pool area, even when the place was fully booked. One of the ladies was in the hall with the cleaning cart and I told my kids "see, that's why I tell you not to make a mess -- someone has to work hard to clean it up." She kidded around with them, "Oh NO! You're not messy are you???" Which set us all off laughing. *Breakfast was great! I was worried about this because I have a finicky husband and kids who are like bottomless pits and I saw how people were complaining about the eggs & no waffle maker, but there was a w-i-d-e variety of things to choose from all the way from indulgent treats to healthy choices: canadian bacon, biscuits and gravy, scrambled (yes, powdered-- oh noes!) or hard boiled eggs, fresh baked cinnamon rolls (Surgeon General's warning: these are addictive) and a pancake machine that cooked pancakes at the push of a button. My family and I liked that a lot more than the messy / time consuming waffle irons at other places we've been at. There was also lots of bread choices (english muffin, wheat bread, etc.) cold cereal or tons of oatmeal choices, fresh fruit, many kinds of yogurt, juices, milk, coffee, tea, and on and on... *Pool was super clean, and though it was small and the place was booked, we often had it to ourselves. *Cozy lounge with cookies / ice water and comfy couches in lobby. *Right next to freeway for convenience, but I never heard any freeway noise in our room. Or other guests. Or noise from the hall. Which is remarkable considering how full the place was. Cons: *Desk staff was less enthusiastic about helping out. They weren't bad, just kind of meh and not as overwhelmingly friendly/outgoing/helpful as the housekeeping staff. Go figure. For example my son asked the clerk if he could have one of the cookies. He replied "Sure, just take a napkin and don't make a big mess all over the place." *Breakfast room got crowded. I'd advise going earlier, as getting a table near 8-9 was very difficult.

Yelp
This is a good place to sleep with good customer service. We made a reservation mistake and realized it before we got there. We called and they only had two rooms left but a smaller room. Sherry who I spoke with got us a king suite with a pull out bed to accommodate us. She cancelled our other reservation and made sure to give me a cancellation number as well as a new reservation and confirmation number. They have a hot tub and pool, small guest laundry and the holiday inn express free breakfast. The breakfast attendant was working alone and he was moving and multi tasking making sure everything was refilled. There were a lot of guests at breakfast, so his skills were impressive. It was quiet and comfortable and close to the interstate. I would recommend.

Yelp
Disappointed in quality of this Holiday Inn after long day on the road. We had been staying in Holiday Inn's along a 5-day road trip and this was by far the worse it did not even feel like it was the same brand or hotel line compared to other branches we stayed at. This location was charging more than any of the other locations we stayed at for smaller room and less accommodations, and very outdated furniture/furnishings. We arrived around 9pm, check in was prompt. When we entered the second floor the entire floor smelled like smoke. The hallways had a 1/4 inch dirt and dust line along all the walls and carpets...ewh get a vacuum!!!! Our room smelled like someone had been smoking in it all night and like there had been a party in there, smelled like a strip club or like someone sprayed an entire bottle of cheap perfume all over the room. Sheets were dirty and bed was not made well, the entire bed set up was put on lopsided. Towels in bathroom were wet (questionable if they had been picked up off floor and re-used). Door to room had a large gap in it with light shining through and you could hear everything from rooms above and in hallway. Went to front desk to change rooms they apologized and fixed problem promptly. We took a room on the same floor but still the overall feel of this hotel was not anywhere as nice as any of he other Holiday Inn's we stayed in.... When we entered the second room the window was wide open and the heat was on full blast (It seemed like maybe housekeeping had tried to air out the room). Room did not smell as bad as first but still had a smoke smell to it. Sheets in second room were still stained and had dark curly hairs on pillows. We were so tired we didn't even care at this point. Breakfast was standard to any other Holiday Inn. However, there was quick run out of supplies and not stocked as well as other Holiday Inn's. Goodluck getting the wifi to work at a pace faster than the 90's. Overall feeling of hotel and location was dirty and grimy, would not pay more than 75 dollars for what they were offering (they were charging 139+tax). Will not stay here again, will push through the night and make it to Tahoe for much nicer rooms that cost the same or less for better value!

Yelp
This hotel is fine, but if you care about customer service, don't stay b/c their customer service is absolutely ridiculous; for example, this one old white lady is very rude and doesn't know how to smile. All my friends including myself are unhappy with customer service.
