At first we were dismayed that this hotel was right on the main road, but what we learned about Vernal is that EVERYTHING is right on the main road. This hotel was very clean, the staff was excellent, our room was quiet and comfortable. We had a small dog with us and they were very kind to her. We did have to put a couple of pillows at the gap beneath the door at night so our dog didn't think we were under attack by people walking by. Everything in the room was laid out nicely, there was a refrigerator for our dinner leftovers, the bathroom was a nice size and very clean. Excellent water pressure. A quiet sleep.

Typical 3 star hotel - you get what you pay for. The bed was okay, not great. It was evident that my room had previously hosted a dog. The room was mostly clean, but I found a few dog hairs on the floor, and it just smelled like a dog had lived there. The breakfast was pretty decent, but Holiday Inn can do better at providing more gluten free and dairy free choices. At least one of the cereals offered could easily be GF (options could include Cheerios, Chex, Pebbles, and others). I was disappointed that the front desk didn't allow me a late checkout. They wouldn't even discuss it. "We can't do that." Strange. As an IHG rewards member for decades, I've been able to get late checkouts when needed all over the world. I guess not in Vernal, Utah though.

Very clean hotel. Staff was very helpful. Only stayed the one night. Their Continental breakfast is decent with at least a turkey sausage option. I arrived late and they allowed us to check out later as well upon request.

This is my home away from home in Vernal when traveling for work. JR and the staff create a wonderful place to stay. It's clean, it's in great shape (recently remodeled), breakfast is fantastic, and they even have cookies throughout the day. I love staying here... It's consistently great. Always looking forward to the next time that I come here!

This was a pretty average room up against a very busy highway, so it was noisy in my room if I didn’t have my fan turned on. But it was certainly clean and looked nice and had everything I needed. I would say the lights in the bathroom are quite dim for what I prefer in the bathroom. My biggest surprise was the breakfast in the morning. I certainly above par. They had the normal small egg omelette, hashbrowns, and sausage, but the winner was the biscuits and gravy. These were actually restaurant quality. They also had some cinnamon rolls that looked great, but I did not try them. Very pleased with these options. Because of the breakfast options, I’m writing this review a little bit higher.

No suites at this location. Largest beds are full-size, so if you have a big family. Pool is small, but usually unoccupied. 15 people max, the hot tub is connected to pool with a wall to separate them. Being that this location is kinda out there, you really won't fight big crowds for anything. Which is a plus. Funniest thing, there is a soda pop vending machine. Cost $99.

Google
Holiday Inn Express should be extremely embarrassed about this location. They’ve been under construction here for more than a year, but do not tell people that when a reservation has been made. The pool, spa, and fitness center are all out of commission and have been for a long time. There’s a completely totaled vehicle placed right by the back door that must belong to someone who works here. There are little gnats flying around everywhere in the breakfast area. The first floor rooms and the bathroom on the first floor are out of commission. I was here for five days and all of the half-done construction was not touched at all, and there were no signs of any workers trying to advance the progress of the construction. The card keys stop working nearly every day and have to be reset. The people who clean the rooms each day don’t restock the coffee supplies. The list goes on and on and on and on of all of the things wrong with this place. I’m a seasoned traveler of over 35 years traveling, and I’ve come to expect a certain level of quality from Holiday Inn Express. I’ve never seen one this bad off. There are numerous other hotels in Vernal to stay and I would highly recommend picking any one of them except this one. I would’ve moved to another hotel immediately when I arrived if it hadn’t been for my company’s booking system having me locked into this one so that I could not alter the reservation.

Google
There's nothing wrong with the room or the service. The problem is that for the price, the casting on the TV does not work. It's ridiculous system and it hasn't worked in two hotels in a row now (both IHG). I don't understand why they don't have regular Smart TVs and why you can't just connect your phone like any other hotel brand. If you're going to charge a premium, everything should be working without me spending 45 minutes with terrible tech support. Make sure the systems work before you rent the rooms

Yelp
Overnight stay - traveling through area. Nice quiet place for the night. There's not much to do in this area. They need to change their tattered US and HI flags out front.

Yelp
An obviously poorly managed hotel. For $300/night, it's really disappointing. The hot tub isn't hot. The pool's chemistry is off. The pool towel rack has no towels. The cookie tray has no cookies. The pancake machine doesn't work. The fresh fruit has visible dirt on it. The vending machines are empty. The lobby coffee machine is empty. The room smells like a can of Lysol exploded in it. The room coffee bar hasn't been restocked.

Yelp
Not expecting a nice hotel in Vernal, but this Holiday Inn exceeded the low expectations I had. Including the breakfast! (the only down with breakfast is that due to Covid, you have to request it at the front desk). The room was immaculate, super clean. Sheets super fresh, bed huge and extremely comfy (finally I could have a very nice night of deep sleep after many hikes and bad hotel experiences). Bathroom spacious, hyper clean, comfortable and I liked the smell and quality of the soaps and beauty stuff provided (since I forgot to bring my own those little details are important). Easy access, plenty of parking, affordable, great service in the breakfast area and plenty of tourist brochures to take with you too.

Yelp
7/25/2020 No pool or fitness center because of covid. The other holiday inns I have been to recently all were open. Rooms ok. Beds small. Rooms clean. Has fridge and tv.

Yelp
I was passing through Vernal Utah for my annual Elk hint in Colorado. I recently relocated to the Pacific Northwest so my driving route is different to get to my hunting location. This was my first time (and last) staying at the Vernal HI Express. Carpets in the room were filthy and need to be cleaned. Walls were dirty, actual first on several light switches Keurig machine had 1 K cup. (Not the normal 4) 1 towel in the bathroom. I always stay at HI express when traveling several times per year. Sadly this location isn't up to the standards of others so I won't be back here.

Yelp
The staff was professional and friendly. Rooms are clean and comfy. I will be stopping again soon, thank you for the great experience!

Yelp
Needed a good nights sleep we check into this local hotel. It was a little strange that no one sits at the front desk. You have to call and someone will come and assist you. I was thrown off when a young lady with a pair of jeans and a t-shirt appeared behind the counter. Don't get me wrong she was very pleasant but wasn't in uniform. That should have been my cue to go to another hotel. The room was decent not clean but decent. It needed a deep cleaning and updating. The comforter was from my grandmothers era and the decor was from the prehistoric days. At check out I was charged twice for having a dog with me. Again, I had to call and wait for someone to come to assist me. This time it was a man, again no uniform no shirt that has the hotel name just jeans and a t-shirt. He was polite and explained my bill to me. I guess the old saying is true you get what you pay for. Next time I'll spend a little more.

Yelp
Excellent. Super clean. Great staff. In particular the gal working the breakfast room was wonderful and mindful and so polite to her guests. I was upgraded to a suite for a great price with my AAA card and hope to return.

Yelp
My husband, boys (3, 7) and I stayed here for 2 nights during our dinosaur themed road trip. Vernal seems to be known for being located around many places to stop for dinosaur lovers. This was one of the few places that was recommended to me by a staff member from another hotel where we wanted to stay but couldn't get a room. Pros : - It had a laundry room which worked out after being on the road for a few days and still had a few days before heading home. $2 to use the washer, $2 to use the dryer, 75 cents for the detergent, 75 cents for the dryer sheets (2). Takes quarters only. - located down the main street so it was easy to get to anything we needed (Walmart, theater, restaurants as well as other dinosaur stops that were only as much as 30 minutes away) - breakfast available and served by a staff member. There were many items to choose from (biscuits and gravy, eggs, sausage, cereal, juices, pastries, fruit, yogurt and more). - beds and bathroom were standard and whats expected for a Holiday Inn Not so Pro: - the hotel had a bit of a bug problem. They had a small posting at the entrance stating this was the case and that it was being worked on. The bugs were said not to be harmful but just the thought was a bit unsettling and I didn't want to take any chances. We found them only on the inside and outside of the window itself and no where else. I went through and wiped down the whole room and bathroom (beds included) with Lysol wipes and spray as well as sprayed the window with Lysol spray. The spray killed the bugs and must've set a protective barrier because after that, there wasn't much of an issue on the inside of the window for the rest of our stay. Not sure why this couldn't have been done prior to us arriving into the room. ??? - the woman at the front desk seemed to be overwhelmed at check in. I tried to joke with her which made her laugh but had I not done that I don't think it would have been a good transaction. She was also bothered each time we had to ask for quarters or needed help with the washer and dryer (the detergent/dryer sheet dispenser wasn't working). She did help us but seemed to be frustrated as she seemed to be working on other things. I get it, there is always something to get done but there are times where the customer can't find the solution without help of the business and I don't think we need to be made to feel that we are a nuisance for asking for assistance.

Yelp
The hotel itself is nice. The rooms are clean. It's about the quality level you'd expect from Holiday Inn--not exactly fancy, but not a dump. It is a little expensive for a hotel in Vernal Effing Utah, but I suppose they have the market cornered in a small town where they only other decent option is a Spring Hill Suites. That said, I booked my room online using Priceline. And then I had to change my dates. I talked to someone on the phone at the hotel and they agreed to change the date of arrival. When I arrived I had no problem checking in. The people working the desk were cordial. But a week after I got home I noticed they had double-billed my credit card. Nobody mentioned this at any point--including when I was checking out. When I contacted about them I got no response. So I had Priceline contact them and they said that I was charged for a No Show on the original night I'd booked the room--even though I'd talked to them beforehand and they said this was fine and had changed the room rate. They have not offered me any sort of refund. So I just ended up paying for a hotel room for an extra night that I didn't use because someone on their end screwed up and they refuse to deal with it. A hotel that wasn't nearly booked charged me for a No Show when I'd cancelled my stay. Kind of seems like a prick move to me. I'm sure my experience is not something that happens all the time and maybe it was a mistake. But the customer service after the fact definitely could have been better. Much better. So if I'm in the area again I'll give the Spring Hill Suites a try.

Yelp
TV did not work and internet was too slow to even use. Overpriced hotels should have basic stuff like that working.

Yelp
I am ALWAYS a fan of a clean place with a comfy bed! I tend to like to stay in Holiday Inn's because they are clean, friendly, have a good breakfast, and accommodating. This was no exception. We went on a semi-busy weekend and our rooms were super clean. I liked being on the back side of the hotel, further away from the main street traffic. (My dad had stayed here in the past and said people were drag-racing up and down the street in the middle of the night. Good thing he is deaf in one ear and can just roll over to shut out the noise. :) ) I did have to deal with a couple families who lived across the hall and their kids banging their doors open and closed late at night and in the morning. But that's not the hotel's fault. I also should have asked to move my room away from the stairs. I wish they'd put in more sound-proofing in those rooms because I listened to people going up and down the stairs all night and all morning long. Super frustrating. BUT I LOVED that there was a tub! I know a lot of places are moving away from that and only installing showers, so that was a huge highlight for me. The beds were comfy and the fridge was clean (a problem I've found in other places). And your Staff was AMAZING! The young woman at the front desk was very kind, but it was your breakfast staff that went above and beyond. By the time I'd gotten down to breakfast around 9ish, there was a lot that had been picked over. But with my food sensitivities, I really was needing some kind of protein, but the scrambled eggs were pretty much gone. One of your staff members noticed me and asked if she could help. I explained that I had hoped to get some eggs and she said that she would go warm me up/make me an omelet and bring it out to me. I was incredibly impressed by how kind she was and her willingness to go out of her way for me. All in all it was a good place to stay and I would definitely go back.

Yelp
This hotel is relatively new so it's clean and rooms are well equipped. Friendly staff. Got an upgrade to a mini suite, which provided extra room and a fridge and microwave. Good rates -- 1/3 less than a comparable brand a few blocks away.

Yelp
Very clean, smells good, beds were super comfy with high quality pillows/bedding, staff was pleasant and helpful, AND they have complimentary popcorn in the lobby! Had a great stay here--will definitely return if in the Uintah Basin again.

Yelp
Very clean and updated. Friendly staff and free breakfast. Great location near a fabtast if steak restaurant

Jobas B.

Yelp
Friendly staff. They also have a map with menu's of all nearby restaurants, very useful. The pool and hot tub were clean, and we had a great time in them. Great for kids.

Yelp
Nice, clean, place to stay with newer beds rooms etc. Friendly staff, free popcorn and sometimes pancakes until 10:00 PM. Pricier than some this place is worth it. Once again, this is Vernal UT we're talking about. This is an Oil Patch town and when the patch is booming you better have a reservation for ANY Hotel/Motel in town 2-3 weeks in advance. I once got to town and had to stay at the KOA in a "Kamper Kabin" because there were no rooms available.

Darson A.

Yelp
This place was extremely clean, when I say clean I mean even the grout in the elevator. The staff was extremely helpful. The gave directions and looked things up for us when we were in need. The bed was comfortable and clean. My baby slept well and was not woken up by random door slams or loud neighbor like at other places. The internet was fast, I got all my work done quickly and had time to relax with the family in the pool (well I was in the Hot Tub. The manager was extremely accommodating and could be seen checking in on how breakfast was going for guests. I would recommend this place to ANYONE in search of a clean, affordable, need of a good experience when it comes to a hotel.

A D.

Yelp
Choose this place! We did and are very glad. It was everything you could ask for and more. Make your reservation early this hotel is so popular they sell out, rare in this level of accommodations. All staff we encountered were great, they genuinely cared that our experience be the best. They succeeded. There are other options in this area but we will absolutely stay here should we return to Vernal

R. Herbert R.

Yelp
Review based on what it is and where it is. Relatively new, easy check in, clean facility with good indoor pool. Breakfast below expectations. Just about average for HI Express.

Kellen M.

Yelp
Wonderful place to stay. Fantastic staff. Best value for what you get. Front desk staff are very helpful and friendly! Great time!
