While the rooms could use an update (and I suspect they'll get one when Best Western has fully taken over), the hotel was really fantastic for our two night stay. The kids loved the pool with the slide, the lobby and eatery was clean and spacious and the room - while dated - was awesome for them. They loved having bunk beds! Breakfast was delicious, offering so many hot and cold options: pancakes, eggs, sausage, pastries, fruit, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, juices, tea, coffee and even fresh cinnamon buns! Free parking was fantastic and the location was ideal. Will stay again!

Location was central to the things we were doing over those two days. The rooms are dated, but we'll kept and comfortable. Breakfast is always a plus and the did an excellent job. We will stay here again on our way back.

This is pretty much the only choice you have if you have an early flight out of Deer Lake. It's a beat up, dated Holiday Inn, changing to a Best Western. Rooms are dated but clean. There is a guest laundry, which is helpful. ||There is absolutely NO FOOD on site other than a cold breakfast and vending machines. The desk staff will help you find delivery options but they are limited to a pizza place, a Subway and one other place I cannot remember. We opted for the pizza, which actually turned out to be decent. ||They have a shuttle to the airport, which is helpful. But keep in mind, this is pretty much a bare-bones place to stay. If you can get food ahead of time to take to your room that's probably a best bet. There is a decent sized fridge in the room.||AC worked well. Good water pressure. Tiny, thin, crappy towels but hey, it's a Holiday Inn. Adjust your expectations accordingly. I don't see it improving when it changes to the Best Western.

Conveniently located right off the highway. Check-in was quick and efficient. Comfy bed and clean room. Dove toiletries were subpar compared to their retail products - fortunately I had brought my own. |Gym was small and seemed to have good equipment, though everything smelled new (i.e. pungent rubber smell). Did not try to use the pool, though the curving slide definitely looked tempting! |A good variety of breakfast options as could be expected from a HI Express: frosted croissants, muffins, bagels, toast, cereals, oatmeal, pancake machine, juice dispenser, teas/coffee, hot breakfast (scrambled eggs, sausages, bacon), yogurt, boiled eggs, fruit.... and to-go bags are provided if you need to eat on the run! No Nfld specialties though, would have been nice to have some toutons at least :||Pet friendly room was near the fire exit with a grassy area (with BBQ and picnic table!), so it was easy to take the dog out without having to go all the way to the main entrance, and we could re-enter through the fire exit using a room key. |Biggest complaint: the building is older, so the hallways are creaky and the soundproofing is crap. A bunch of elephants checked in on the floor above us in the middle of the night, clomping around with the luggage and talking loudly, keeping us awake. No fault of the hotel staff, but may be worth investing in better soundproofing or more signage advising people to be quiet (there are already signs about silent hours, but I guess this group missed them).

I stayed at this Holiday Inn for three (3) nights. It was located about an hour away from most of Gros Morne National Park. This hotel was very accommodating by its mission to care of its guests; this hotel’s staff was very amicable. I loved the continental breakfasts, which included: cereals, eggs, hash-browns, cinnamon rolls, muffins, cookies, pancakes, toasts, fruits, and many drinks. This gym was fine with some free weights and a few cardio machines. I loved my time at this heated pool with its waterslide; there was also a hot tub. There was plentiful parking, there were meeting rooms, and this hotel had a small store to purchase some basic foods and drinks. The free wi-fi, the elevator, the television, the water pressure, and the room temperature all worked well for me. I had daily room-service, and this hotel was clean. Sometimes, I heard loud children and a few doors slam, but otherwise, this stay was great.

This was an excellent place to stay while I was in the area for a few days. I booked at the Holiday Inn since there weren't many options in Deer Lake but this place has it all and they do it well. The staff is super friendly and answered any questions I had, the room is well equipped with Dove products, microwave, and fridge, the breakfast is very good with a cold continental option starting at 3AM and hot breakfast starting at 6AM, there's a pool with a slide and a hot tub, and it's all very clean and up kept well. There's also a small shop area where you can buy any essentials you need and get coffee available in the lobby at any time. The fitness center was closed during my visit because they were upgrading all of their equipment which is also nice to hear since some hotels have really outdated equipment. If I'm in the area and need a place to stay this is where I'll be going.

The hotel is switching over to be a Best Western, which we were not told until we arrived. The hotel is very dated, not that clean, claustrophobic feeling, and had so many signs all over the place telling you what not to do. However, the staff were friendly and the breakfast had more options than many Holiday Inn's that I have stayed at.

This is an ideal place to land upon arriving through the Deer Lake airport. I find that HIE hotels consistently and reliably provide comfortable accommodations. The Deer Lake HIE provides such comfort tailored to the specific needs of travelers coming in and out of Deer Lake airport. There is a very late shuttle available for that painfully late arrival from Toronto, and the front desk will help you get a local taxi the next morning if you need to pick up a rental car. The hotel lobby even has an ATM if you need CAD currency. We were thankful for the friendly welcome and the help provided as we arrived in this beautiful area.
