Holiday Inn Express Milwaukee Downtown by IHG

Good standard hotel. An entire wall (along the beds) didn't have power (?). The outlets and lamps on that half didnt work, and neither did the HVAC system. Due to the stay being one night and a late arrival we didn't bring this up during our visit. One drawer in our room had a bag of empty cans and trash. Besides this the room was pretty clean and the staff were nice.

The highlight of my experience was with manager, Ms. Ortega! She was a consumat professional and made my stay a delight! Her staff was polite, courteous, and professional, which reflects on her leadership! I highly recommend Holiday Inn Express downtown!

Room was clean. Bed had a soft mattress little support. Location was close to river and many great Italian restaurants but a little expensive. Parking not included but valet available for a reasonable fee.

The parking sucks. Got a parking parking garage is that are outrageously priced the USB plug-ins in the room are all broken some of the regular plug-ins by the bed don’t even work. The coffee maker doesn’t work. The air vent in the bathroom doesn’t work. The thermostat is crazy. You either are super hot or super cold. There’s no in between Great people. Great breakfast but the rooms need to be taken care of.

The four days I spent at Holiday Inn were amazing. The breakfast was wonderful the front desk, Carlos the manager and the beautiful young lady at front desk in the morning were all amazing. I was very satisfied with my stay. The valet service was fast and efficient. The morning shift alex the valet driver was amazing quick and profession with getting my vehicle and was very nice. The three second shift valet I dealt with while staying at the hotel for the names. I do remember one of them started with a Z another one name was Simon if I’m not wrong Eugene now the first two I named Z and Simon. For the first two days, they were moving a bit sluggish but was friendly and helpful even gave me directions to the closest bars or restaurants Eugene he’s not a bad valet he is friendly, but I feel like he be trying too hard to try and get a tip and it made me feel a little uncomfortable but other than that my overall experience was 10 out of 10

Great location and the woman checking us in was very friendly and helpful! The room felt modern and nice. However the breakfast had room for improvement. Not much variety and no fruit offered.

Had a lovely stay the night on May 30th. I asked for an early checked via email and they got back to me right away and said yes which was super convenient! The room was clean, bed comfortable, breakfast was so good. Valet was super convenient and you can request your car via a link. Great location downtown! Would definitely stay again.

This was a clean, comfortable and convenient hotel for a weekend trip to Milwaukee. Pros: -Clean -Relatively new seeming furnishings, bathroom seemed new or just cleaned well with great water pressure -Small fridge, microwave and keurig in room -Nice location for walking distance to the lakefront, Milwaukee Public Market, many restaurants and near stops on the L Line and M Line streetcar -Free breakfast -Convenience of valet parking ($39 per night) -Affordable for the brand and location Cons: -Hotel is located close to the highway so can get loud depending on traffic noise -Not great sound barriers between rooms, we could hear the footsteps of the people staying in the room above us. -Although coffee was free in the lobby the taste wasn't consistent - one of the days it tasted so burned I couldn't add enough sugar to make it taste better -No close by grocery store in the area

Quality/Quantity - Decent size rooms, including bathroom. Everything was clean. If you want maid service, you have to ask. The room had a fridge, microwave, and desk area to write my Yelp reviews, LOL. Near downtown, it is an easy walk to many communities. Easy parking next door for $25 a day. They have police presence every morning, so it is also safe. Or was it unsafe before...? A safe in the room, we did not use it. Complimentary hot breakfast, but your pancake machine did not work any days we were here, and you ran out of 2 out of your 3 juices... Also, you did not have any more fruit on our last day. Might have been partly our fault, my daughter wakes up right as breakfast is ending, so much of the food is gone... Atmosphere - Convenient location. Many competitors, but this was the best value according to my daughter who booked all of our lodging for this vacation. Fitness center, laundry facility; both we did not use. Conference room that the hotel manager used everyday... My daughter wanted to use it. Free wifi. Coffee in the room, but the lobby had daily fresh coffee. Missing ice machine on our floor, but we had a fridge so it did not matter. Service - Good. Price - Less than $200 a day which includes the $25 parking. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success. Holiday Inn, the parent company, has been around since 1952.

Thank goodness for the continental breakfast. I drank Wisconsibly the previous evening and felt it. The scrambled eggs and biscuits and gravy, both helpings, saved a life. The hotel is incredibly clean. Everywhere. I appreciate the hotel and its staff for their focus and due diligence. My room had a king sized bed, but it wasn't cramped. There were no issues moving around or unpacking. I liked the flat screen tv that seemed to have all of the sports channels. I also liked the extra plug ins for my electronics. The hotel is a short walk from the art museum, Lake Michigan and Third Ward, however there isn't a lot super close, especially restaurants. I didn't mind, but you might want to do some research if you're traveling in a group or with family. The staff was friendly and happy to help.

Free parking convenient to hotel. Great location. Very nice room. Computer at front desk not working so check-in person disappears for long periods of time. Several of us standing and waiting.

I have Never stayed in a "quality" hotel that refused to comp your parking ramp fees, when they offer no parking. This hotel is a block from the park8ng ramp with all handicap spaces on the first level reserved. I had to parked on a upper level and walk to the hotel with my baggage and cane. Then did offer valet but it was not a discounted rate. $13.00 for 1 hour then additional $22.00 for overnight. When asked to please comp ramp fees. Was told a rude , " no , we don't do that" with a head Bob and pursed lips from the customer service woman. My 12 year old granddaughter said wow grandma she was mean to you. The hall carpets were dirty also. When asked a few questions about how to find or get to certain places, I was told to use google, before turning his back to me. And his name tag said he was assistant general manager. ​

This is the worst Holiday Inn in Milwaukee and everyone needs to be aware of how horrible I was treated. Daniella and Jaylin you will be hearing from my attorney! I booked a reservation and was told it was cancelled and there was a note from the GM Jaylin that I was banned from the hotel. I stayed there about 3 weeks ago and had no problems other than the room temperature was cold. Daniella was notified and she tried asking me to change rooms after stating further the rooms are all set to not rise above 75 degrees not to mention it was very late to be changing rooms with no guarantee the room would be warmer. It was communicated to Daniella that the entire floor was freezing even the elevators, not only did she have an attitude she acted like she didn't care about my concerns. She further stated she would compensate the room by half and told me to have Orbitz contact her. I asked her if she would be noting my account she said she would remember when they called. The next day we ended up extending our stay and was harassed by Carlos several times calling all through the night for a DEPOSIT! When my card was on file. I had to get up at nearly 4am to pay a deposit! He tried to banter with me as if he was my parent that he called my room several times. I told him the amount of times he called was harassment. I was told by him my room was being 100% covered. The next morning upon checkout I am then told I have to pay for the room! I paid and had orbitz call to get my discount. I was told by Orbitz only $30 would be credited. I called the hotel and spoke to Jaylin who said he was crediting half the room and then tried to bring up Daniella offered to switch my room I reiterated the time of night, the temperature not being able to be controlled by the guest. HE never mentioned anything about me being banned nor was I told about not being welcome. I traveled from out of state to come here to find my reservation canceled with NO information! Carlos called Jaylin who acted oblivious and said he would be there in the morning and I could come talk to him. Absolutely not! First off, as a BLACK woman I was not only discriminated against but I was humiliated and treated like some unhinged individual. I was never disrespectful to anyone. I am a woman of good integrity and is well renowned in my profession, community and a change agent around the world. I have never been mistreated like this and my voice will not go unheard. The only person who treated my guest and I with respect was Paul. Paul thank you for your kindness. Jaylin, Daniella and Carlos: Not only what you did was WRONG you have now forced my hand. I was inconvenienced, deceived and had to rearrange my entire night to find a place to stay. Not only will I be making a formal complaint with the headquarters, I have family all throughout the Holiday Inn chain who will help me get this resolved. As a business woman, I would never treat anyone like this. I am requesting Holiday Inn: Refund me for the hotel charges incurred during my prior stay. A formal written apology and explanation of what led to this decision. Compensation for my travel, valet services and for the HORRIFIC treatment I received. This was definitely racially motivated. I will be contacting my attorneys, and the local new stations in Milwaukee, Kenosha and Illinois. This needs to be brought to light as my reputation will not be shattered by deceit. I will also be contacting the health department as the temperature of those rooms were unbearable. I expect Holiday Inn to take immediate action and resolve this in an amicable manner. I will not let this go until Justice is served.

The staff was friendly when I checked in and very helpful. The room was clean and neat. The place overall was nice and neat. The breakfast was good, but I had two problems with this place. The first was the parking is nonexistent, so you have a twenty five dollar fee for parking. The other is the noise of the downtown at night. Sirens blasting through the night. A good stay overall, but those things out of their control, but part of the experience brought this rating down to a four star.

Just stayed here this weekend. Worst Holiday Inn we've ever stayed at. Our room was flat out dirty. Not vacuumed at all- chunks of dirt and food on the floors. The coffee counter, bathroom sink counter and tub ledge all had months of built up dust, soap, hair, etc. They're just wiping the sink bowls and bottom of the tub. There was a used paper plate in the microwave. AC units rattle loudly. Had a quarter roll of toilet paper in the entire room so had to go ask for some. The included breakfast was missing many items and the second morning there was no juice of any kind. When we (and others) mentioned this to the staff they shrugged and basically said "too bad". I've had better stays for $65 and this was $260/night.

Despite booking a suite months in advance that was to have a sleeper sofa in addition to 2 beds, our family of 5 was given a standard room that only had 2 beds. Also, the sink was fully backed up and we couldn't even wash our hands. Brushing teeth out of a cup and spitting into a toilet was the highlight of our trip, even after maintenance came and "fixed" the issue. Of course, they didn't have any rooms available to accommodate their "mistake" of selling our booked room for a higher rate. The noise level from the exterior was insanely loud, every time a car drove by it sounded like a street race. Noise from above level of someone just simply walking was also a big annoyance. Upon checkout, I stood at the front counter for a good 3 minutes while the front desk girl sat off to the side scrolling on her cell phone. She then complained the entire time of having to do her job. I've stayed at several downtown Milwaukee hotels in the past and this was hands down the worst.

Staff was very helpful and friendly. Continental breakfast was good. I would highly recommend this place as a downtown Milwaukee destination!

Wow, very surprised this isn't a 4 star hotel. It looks like it was just totally redone. My room was very modern and extremely clean. All the staff members were polite. It's one of the least expensive places downtown and has an excellent breakfast and 24 hr coffee in the lobby.

This place is an absolute JOKE!!!! DO NOT STAY HERE. During my stay in October three people were able to gain access to my room and steal my belongings. The incident was reported to hotel management, the Milwaukee Police Department made a police report and the manager on duty reviewed the security cameras. He informed me that the burglary was captured on camera. The manager lied stating that he had filed an insurance report with the company and strung my along about being reimbursed. For 3 months he lied only to learn that that manger no longer works for the company. Now, the new manager files an insurance claim, the insurance company denies the claim stating that the offenders are not employees of the hotel, there is no proof that I had the stolen items with me in the hotel and I should have put my valuables in the safe in the room (I was not aware there was a safe). Noone will speak to me or return emails. I will NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN PLEASE BE CAREFUL.

Our family stayed here for a family wedding, and could not have been happier with the level of service we received. The staff was responsive to our requests, quickly fixed our faulty refrigerator, and allowed us to take over an area in the lobby between church and the reception. Would highly recommend! Shout out to Anthony and his staff for a job well done!
