Stayed at the hotel for a couple of nights on a recent vacation. The staff were extremely helpful and kind. We came a little bit early and the front desk worker went out of his way to get us situated and store our bags while we explored the city. Breakfast was included, which was good. My partner is a vegetarian and there were limited options, but overall it was a good start to the day. The rooms are very small, yet the bathroom was quite spacious, proving an overall strange room layout. Overall, I would recommend staying here.

I had an excellent stay at the Holiday Inn Express in Condado, Puerto Rico! From the moment I arrived, the staff was friendly and welcoming, making me feel right at home. My room was spotless, comfortable, and had everything I needed for a relaxing visit. The complimentary breakfast was a great way to start the day, with a variety of fresh and delicious options. I also really enjoyed the pool and hot tub—perfect for unwinding after exploring the city or spending time at the nearby Condado Beach. The hotel’s location is fantastic, within walking distance to the beach, great restaurants, and local attractions. Overall, I highly recommend the Holiday Inn Express Condado. The combination of excellent service, clean and comfortable rooms, and great amenities like the pool and hot tub made my stay truly memorable. I can’t wait to come back!

Good location.Placed in an accessible room-weird setup. Beds comfortable, only 1 coffee for the morning. Nice decor, comfy. But, someone on our floor was slamming doors from about 1:00 am till 2:30. Security even came up to the floor but it still continued so we didn’t sleep well. Was told at check-in that breakfast started at 6:00, next morning front desk said 6:30. 7:00am comes and still no breakfast-not even coffee. No one seemed to care. We had to leave to catch a flight so that was very disappointing. Value for $ would be better w/breakfast.

My husband and I stayed from 7/26 - 8/1 and enjoyed ou time there. Our top praises are the bed comfort, breakfast and staff. The hotel street and parking were a big downside. We did have a couple of issues when we first checked in with payment since we went through a 3rd party and then switching the card on file. But Angel at the front desk fixed everything both times so he was awesome! The room had good space and commodities, the bed/bedding were great but the pillows were a bit flat. The toiletries in the room were nice and plentiful; the bathroom setup is odd and the towels aren't the softest. The toilet paper holder fell off the wall the first morning and it didn't get fixed until the afternoon before we left. The TV got noisy a few times and maintenance came quickly, but it would be fine when they got to the room. Breakfast was amazing with so many different choices every day. The chef was great and the staff was friendly and both on top of everything. The dining area was roomy and always clean. Some of the food could have been warmer; but my main complaint was the lack of dress code - beach wear of any kind could be worn. Housekeeping was not the best. They were not quiet in the hallways at 8am and entered into our room without knocking while we were in there. Our last day they came twice to clean our room when checkout isn't until 12pm. The cleaning itself was fine but the floors were not swept/mopped well. Valet parking was a struggle because there was only one spot at the front of hotel. So double-parking was necessary while waiting on a very narrow street or sometimes having to drive around. But the attendants were friendly, polite and quick to get the cars situated. Daily parking fee was about average for the area. The hotel decor has a modern vibe but the outside and street isn't very picturesque. There are no outside terraces or lounge areas but it does have a nice pool, hot tub and outdoor area (tucked away in a corner) that's a good enough size. The pool towels which are also provided as beach towels (the older stained ones) aren't very big or thick. Overall our stay was great because of the pros. The cons were not enough reason to keep from our enjoyment. We recommend the hotel moreso for couples and business.

I chose this place only by emergency because the island was out of electricity for a while and my Airbnb didn't have enough accommodations day 2 into no power. The lobby and rooms in Holiday Inn Express are super FUNKY. The AC units and airflow are terrible making the air inside super icky inside. The rooms by themselves are fairly modern/decent and housekeeping does a wonderful job. My room in particular smells like mold, musk and urine if the A/C isnt on full blast. I didn't partake in breakfast, but it was convenient and enough for my kids to grab a bite before our early morning excursions. Pool is SMALL so we never got to use it due to overcrowding. Service was ok. On more than one occasion, I was completely bypassed by the front desk for a Spanish speaker causing me to waiting longer than necessary for assistance when I was next in line. A few of the staff speak to "selective" customers as if they're idiots especially around inquiries around early check-in (check-in is very late at 4pm... firm).Tone and attitude are a major issue. Location was perfect (not on the beach but very short walk and close to many things). Price should be slightly lower for this particular hotel though.

This is a great place to stay and enjoy some pleasure along with your business trip. It’s central located to almost anything you could want. One black from the public beach. Easy walk to tons. Valet parking attendants are fast and friendly. This place is always clean and staff are always friendly and helpful. Lots of families here enjoying beach and free breakfast. I’d definitely stay here again. Great place for the money.

Google
they are remodeling but it’s quiet and not overbearing .. still made for a golf trip. The breakfast has a wide variety and is really good.. it’s from 630a-10a i believe .. ||The room was nice, recently remodeled, standard room, soft bed, new pillows, clean, and very cold AC||The pool was basic but not bad||finally - LOCATION WAS TOP TIER!!!! safe area, close to nice restaurants and the beach is literally across the street . Overall not a bad stay at all .. would stay again a dj would recommend

First time staying in a hotel in PR and loved everything about this spot. Great location next to beach, restaurants, bars etc. Front desk staff (Julianna, Amanda, Alex and Gigi) were all kind, helpful and professional. Breakfast buffet has plenty of options and rooms are well kept. There is a pool, hot tub and fitness center on site. Guests are also offered discount at restaurant (Condado Gastrobar) next door. Overall, this is a great spot for folks visiting for the first time or returning. My fiancé and I stayed for a week and can't wait to return.

Yelp
Oh wow, where do I even begin? I've had the chance to stay at a whole bunch of places, but this hotel really took the cake for having some of the least welcoming staff I've ever encountered. Unfortunately, they ended up canceling our reservation without lifting a finger to help us sort it out. I totally get that my card expired, and I should have updated the app I used to book; that's on me! But when we approached the staff, it felt like we were met with laughter rather than assistance, which was pretty disheartening. To make matters worse, we didn't receive any email, text, or phone call about updating the payment, which would have been super helpful. I just got an automated confirmation message, so I thought we could resolve things in person. But on the bright side, their lack of customer service pushed us to explore other options, and we found a wonderful place with much more gracious hosts! So, while I can't recommend this hotel, we were lucky enough to turn things around and end up somewhere great!

Yelp
I stayed here on my recent trip to San Juan and was disappointed: PROS: - friendly customer service - walking distance to the beach and other nearby attractions - complimentary breakfast CONS - the hotel space is SMALL. The bathrooms have only standing room and the shower is tight - the breakfast area was under construction so there was also limited space - parking is $25/day - I recommend finding street parking if you rent a car, which is what we did to save money - too expensive for low quality
google avatar

Yelp
It's a pretty good hotel! But honestly, the prices are too expensive for the quality. They should be about half of what they are. Our stay wasn't bad, it was pretty good, but not $300 a night good. For that reason this place gets 3 stars. I do like staying at Holiday Inn in general because the staff are usually pretty good, and the rooms are generally pretty clean! They have breakfast included which is a perk of all Holiday Inn Expresses. The breakfast honestly wasn't bad, especially for an included breakfast. We ended up staying some extra nights, because of travel delays, and they had rooms available----probably because of the steep prices. While I enjoyed everything, I got price fatigue by the end of the vacation and my wallet needed some recovery time. Puerto Rico in general is an expensive place, but I don't buy that everything has to cost double what its actually worth haha ! I will visit again, if I'm rich and money is no longer a factor in life!

Yelp
Bed and pillows were very comfortable. Room a/c working great in this hot & humid climate. Staff very helpful, responsive and friendly. Complimentary b/fast was OK. View was great from our 7th floor location. TV did not work and had troubles with entry key. While room was very nice, common areas looked badly neglected, with empty boxes laying around, and unfinished maintenance work. But those annoyances were easily forgotten given they comfort was tops.

Teresita M.

Yelp
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and spacious. The shower, the pillow, the bed were nice and comfortable. The breakfast was and the coffee was very good. Will go back again.

Yelp
The staff here at this hotel are all amazing people. They are friendly, attentive, and very helpful. Kudos to Nicole she was super helpful and kind with giving directions and telling us all the popular places to go to in San Juan. The restaurants, beach and nightlife is all close by it's a great location. The daily breakfast is good and fresh I would recommend this hotel to anyone you wouldn't be disappointed!!

Yelp
I give the hotel 5 stars due to the: Great hot breakfast, Joe in Guest Services, Martha in Housekeeping, the beach club, impeccably clean. Will be back.

Yelp
I honestly don't see why there are so many negative reviews. It's a Holiday Inn, you get what you pay for. My family and I stayed there for a short trip. The front desk agents were pleasant and very helpful. The rooms were small but clean. Breakfast was good, they served different things each day. It was in a great location close to everything. The only complaint would be that there was no hot water. We had to take Luke warm showers. We pretty much came to the room to sleep so it served its purpose. I would return.

L H.

Yelp
I really don't understand the 1 and 2 star ratings for this hotel. They are totally unwarranted. First, this is a Holiday Inn, not the Ritz. The rooms are very clean. The beds, sheets and pillows are amazingly comfortable. The rooms have blackout curtains that aid in a great nights sleep. The AC kept the room cool. The hotel offers a free breakfast. One of the best I've had at this price point. Eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes, biscuits & gravy, fruit, cereal, bagels and yogurts. Coffee was respectable. Hotel is one block from the beach and very close to restaurants, bars and a casino. Ignore the low ratings.

Yelp
My shoes went missing. The odd thing is, my shoes went missing a year ago as well. I've stayed here several times over the past two years. I'm disappointed that there may be a thief at this business. I don't know how shoes just go missing from one's room. I could chalk up something odd if it happened to me once, but twice?

Yelp
Besides the location, this hotel is poor. Poor service, old building. WiFi worked for a total of 5min over 5 days. Housekeeping is terrible. Front desk staff is got resting B face. Stayed for several nights during recent trip and it was not good. The hotel is super crammed and everything is children sized. Rooms are small, showers and bathrooms are small. Tiny closet, hallways are narrow and doors are small. Tall people are going to have a hard time. Breakfast in the morning is complete garbage. They also have 2 women serving you in the morning and they are slow and have major attitude problems. No hot water for tea the entire time. They have tea bags but no water to make tea. No fruits, just packaged cereal and some pastries that doesn't even taste good. At check-in I specified on a piece of paper that we wanted housekeeping everyday. Yet, Housekeeping did not ever clean our room each day, and we had to specifically ask and they still didn't do it. We had to change sheets ourselves and clean the room ourselves. For the amount of $ they charge that's really bad. Several people also complained about bed bugs. I couldn't see any however, I did get big bits overnight while sleeping in the bed. They got me on my arms and legs. Besides the location, there's not much redeeming point on this hotel. Parking is $20/night in the tiny parking structure across the way, super hard to park and you have to pay or show them your receipt at the counter each time you enter and leave. Very inconvenient. Do not recommend especially for the high nightly rate we paid.

Yelp
I honestly don't understand the bad reviews. It's a holiday inn so we didn't have high expectations obviously you get best you pay for. However, the staff were extremely friendly. They definitely take cleanliness seriously. It seemed like someone was always out in the lobby mopping. We stayed for a week and the turn down service was always quick but done well. I liked that they had a shop with various items. They even had detergent pods decently priced. We used the laundry room so we wouldn't have to take a weeks worth of dirty clothes back home. The jacuzzi wasn't very hot so that was a little downside for us but we spent most of our time at the beach anyway. The gym is decently sized it had everything I needed for a good workout before hitting the beach. The breakfast was decent, the waitstaff were always friendly. They rotated every other day so it wasn't the same thing everyday. We liked that they came around and offered us cookies to have for later.

Yelp
It's basically a crash pad. In a nutshell it's a decent spot to drop your things off and enjoy Puerto Rico. It's nothing to write home about or look forward to. The staff was nice but the manager never responded to my email after I shared with her my experience on the beach with a staff member. As a paying customer I don't think anyone should wait for a chair and an umbrella AFTER the employee is done eating. I videotaped the entire experience. She seemed concerned but nothing happened. They gave us a free soda to say sorry. We basically ended up sitting in the sand for hours because I had already waited for the staff member long enough to finish his food... unbelievable. He was rude and I don't think he was talked to because his attitude was the same the following day. Christian, the front desk rep was really nice but the overall hotel needs to be updated and deep cleaned. The shower pressure was low and the water wasn't hot. I will say that the beds were extremely comfortable. After being at the beach and site seeing all day the bed was something we looked forward to. They had some kind of leak in the main lobby so that was a mess. The breakfast in the morning wasn't good at all. If you want good coffee you won't find it there. They constantly ran out every morning. There's a cafe nearby, go there. I would suggest just getting the dry cereal and bacon. We now know where to stay next time we visit. It won't be there. The pictures look like they are right on the beach but you have to walk there... not a problem just a little deceiving. I'm extremely glad I have friends that live there. That made our experience there amazing. Again, if you book this place go with zero expectations then you'll be pleased. At the very least you have a bed and a safe to put your things in.

Yelp
Small rooms but near Old San Juan. Parking is in a lot across the street. Good just for a place to crash and proximity to Old San Juan.

Karen K.

Yelp
I really like the hotel manager, who made a point to check with us and make sure our stay was fine. The rooms are clean. The complimentary breakfast was wonderful because the oatmeal is the best oatmeal I have ever eaten in my life. This hotel is conveniently located near Condado Beach, which is a beautiful but notoriously dangerous beach. If you want to swim safely without the risk of being dragged out to the ocean, you just have to walk a few blocks down to where the Hilton is. There is an area protected by rocks that's perfect for swimming. Anyway, back to the hotel review, it is a decent hotel and close to the airport. We've stayed here more than once. It's a good choice.

Yelp
So impressed the hotel is clean newly remodeled Great location so close to the beach walk to countless restaurants we did a food tasting tour so much fun Loved San Jaun people are so friendly feels very safe

Yelp
Overall I was not disappointed with our stay. The hotel is close to the beach, they have a section of beach but we could never find it. The parking is across the street. The rooms are a tad small but had everything you need. The one irritant was only having one working elevator and they are super small. Check in was easy.

Yelp
Do not go here!!! Worse experience ever!!! They took all my money for 4 nights and left me stranded with no place to stay. They did not care where I went.

Yelp
Hello, March 30-31 2024 My family(wife, two children 12/14)and I were guest at the Holiday Inn Condado, PR. I'd like to share the experience my family and I had at this location and the incompetence I deal with while addressing this issue. The issue it's self was a disaster. However, the communication during and since with the management/staff at that hotel have been AWEFUL! When my family and I arrived we checked in and were given the key to room 310. As I entered the room with my family I saw that the room was not empty and that someone's belongings were already in it. I quickly backed out and packed my family into the tiny elevator and went back to the desk. Luckily no one was in it at the time. They ended up waving my 50$ fee for the inconvenience. Still shaken I take my family up to the other room. We spend the night and get up to shower. I try at 0930, no hot water. Back to the desk I go. They did absolutely nothing about it. I called customer service and they spoke to the front desk rep. Still nothing. There were at least four other family's down there with the same issue and more. I was told I'd hear from Mr. Beiner the manager, in 24 hours. Never Happened. 1 person on duty no manger til 2pm. No hot water from 0930 til noon when I departed. While there I began to think about the people in room 310 and saw the lackadaisical attitude that was taken towards customer issues. So I went to the room and spoke to the occupants. As I had guessed no one informed them. So I had to. Not fun. Now almost as bad if not worse is the lack of communication. I began working with Mr. Yu who I asked more then 20 times if he asked Mr. Beiner to call me, he insured me he was in constant contact with Mr. Beiner. But became evasive and defensive if I asked if he told Mr. Beiner to call me. Mr. Beiner never even got the message to contact me til he returned from his business trip. Two weeks later. He was also never informed of the numerous family's that had no hot water or the fact there was even a hot water issue. All this missing information over a two week period of constant communication. Mr. Yu has been attempting to assist in the refund. I understand it's a 3 company operation and takes time, but over and over they apologize to me for the delays of the other company's. Fact being those company's did there part only failure was on Mr. Beiner and his staff. They should be apologizing to the other company's for wasting there time as well. However, he has a full VM and is not easy to reach. As I write this I've been waiting to here back from him for more then a week. Mr. Beiner is also hard to get in touch with. He does not even have a VM on his extension. I followed his directions on how to contact him and followed up with text and email but his staff does not easily want to give him messages with out and explanation and I'm not explaining all this every time(particularly Joe Doescher). So communication is difficult at best. Just today I spoke with Mr. Doescher on the phone about a text message follow up I received from the front desk. Mr. Doescher looked into it and apologized for the text and said he spoke to the staff about it. However, he withheld the staff members name from me for at least 8 minutes dodging a simple what's the persons name question (Josue) over and over again. On here I spoke with Ms. Tina Cruz who responds to many of these comments. She offered little assistance and handed me off to Mr. Yu and assured me he'd help. I called Ms. Cruz yesterday to discuss this but I haven't heard back from her as of yet. Cant wait for the sorry company line. instead of actually fixing Mr. Beiners team.

Yelp

Yelp
I enjoyed my stay in Puerto Rico but I have some serious issues with some staff members at this particular hotel. Our first night there- one of the receptionist hand me a url code on a sheet of copied paper! Which should have been a RED FLAG, saying " scan this code and find out was near our hotel" Which later turnout to be a scam! Someone took $40 out of my bank account! Which froze my account for my stay there! Day two, we left out to enjoy the beach- and left the do not disturb on our door! When we returned to the room- our items were moved and the bed was made!? Which I understand the language barrier and can relate! But exit and do not disturb should go hand and hand- especially in case of an emergency! So just be careful and watch your surroundings because just because your on vacation- foolery has a consistent presence! Here is the sheet of paper the receptionist gave me.

Yelp
As an IHG member I am disappointed that I did not earn points. No one seems to be able to tell me why. Staff was pleasant & knowledgeable. Breakfast was plentiful. However hotel needs a complete overhaul. And the Beach Club doesn't look anything like the website. Beach towels are the size of a dish towel. I don't feel in good conscious that i can recommend this hotel.

Yelp
This was a very nice Holiday Inn Express. If you're looking for larger rooms or more amenities, this isn't the place for you, but what it does offer is a bargain compared to other hotels in the area. The property was immaculate. All the common areas and the rooms were as clean as can be. Yes, our room was small, but it had everything we needed and all we did was sleep there. We wanted to see San Juan before our cruise, and staying here allowed us a lot of flexibility. The hotel has a pool and a hot tub. They were barely used, so we often had them to ourselves in the evening. There is a brand new stacked washer/dryer in the lobby near the snack shop, so you can go home (or onto another stop) with clean clothes. The desk people were all extremely helpful and full of good advice. They didn't steer us wrong with recommendations. The free breakfast in the morning was fine - coffee, eggs, sausage, yogurt, fresh fruit, cereals - the usual. Honestly, the only thing that bothered me (and it was minor) was the placement of the sink next to the toilet. The new, wide sink basins leave no room for stacking anything next to them and the toilet paper was mounted on the wall in front of me, which was too far a reach for a short person like me. You can't beat the less than a block walk up to Ashford and then across to the beach. We loved being able to hang out on the beach.

Karina R.

Yelp
Last night a family of 10 were displaced because the 2 year old had bed bugs in her bed. Front desk Brian was informed of the issue. The resolution was to change sheets? The family wanted to speak to the manager on duty robert. Brian refused. The family waited four hours for the manager robert to come in at 9am.. its midnight! Brian repeatedly said that it wasn't an urgent matter seeing 4 kids under 8 in his lobby at midnight is not a pressing matter??? On top of that since it wasn't a pressing matter to them it was pressing enough to call the cops on the family and essentially kicked out of the hotel at midnight? Why??? Also expect this to hit social media full video to follow

Yelp
Definitely not the nicest hotel in San Juan but the rooms clean and tidy. I noticed the doors were not consistent in size, some were almost half the size. It is affordable and in a great location that were few minutes walk to the beach and restaurants. I only stayed for one night (arrived around 11pm after after my plane ride) and went to an Airbnb after for a few days because I was there for a wedding. The complimentary breakfast was nice. I had scrambled eggs, mango salsa, sausage patty, and a delicious pastry with cream inside and powdered sugar on top. The pastry and coffee was my favorite. They had other foods such as bagel, yogurt, cereal, etc. If I was traveling alone I would stay there again.

Yelp
This is a budget hotel in a pricey area, so you get what you pay for. Drawbacks: The rooms are constantly damp and humid - our towels and bathing suits rarely dried before the next day. The hotel is in need of renovations and upgrades (dinged mirrors, missing tile, etc.). Gym equipment was being moved and not available. The staff are eager to greet guests but were annoyed when you ask for their assistance. Case in point: upon reporting to the front desk that we killed a massive cockroach in our room, they desk attendant just said "Ok." Given that this is a tropical climate, various bugs are to be expected, but what was unexpected was the staff member's completely unconcerned attitude. The rooms were mostly clean, aside from the bug problem. The hotel is one block from the beach and offers free beach chairs and umbrellas, which was convenient. In all, you use Priceline, you can pay a similar price for a much nicer place. Rates hovered around $200 for the nights that I stayed here, but I paid closer to $150 by booking in advance directly through the website. If you want to stay in Condado, book one of the nearby luxury properties. It will be worth the money!

Melissa P.

Yelp
If I could give this hotel no stars I would. Horrible customer service. Don't ever forget any belongings at this hotel. You will never get it back. Forgot my Apple IPhone in the lobby and got the run around about trying to get it shipped back. Never spoke with a manager because he was always "busy" or "not there". STAY AWAY!

Yelp
The worst customer service. Booked 6 nights, 5 days ago for a more than month in advance. There were changes at my job, couldn't go. Cancelation fee is $160 for 38 days in advance, that couldn't be vaived. Ridiculous. Don't book this hotel please

Yelp
For a Saturday night stay in Condado with a base rate of $129, this Holiday Inn Express did just fine. The location is the biggest positive being less than a 5 minute walk to the beach and less than $10 Uber to both Old Town and to the airport. Because we disembarked from the cruise ship around 8 AM, we showed up way too early at 9 for check in. Expectedly, the room wasn't ready, but the front desk had me complete all the preliminary paperwork and they took my cell phone number. They also had no problems holding onto our luggage while we explored the city. I received a call around 12:30 letting us know the room was ready. The hard flooring in the room removed any questions about cleanliness of a carpet. We had plenty of space with a refrigerator, large flat screen, safe, comfortable bed, and fully functioning air conditioning. A small gripe might be that the closet door wasn't sliding on its track correctly and wouldn't stay shut. A larger gripe was the drain in the shower was partially clogged leaving you to shower standing in a puddle. Continental breakfast is available in the morning from 6-9, which was standard and nothing to write home about. There were no complaints about the Wi-Fi connection. Bring your own beach towels or grab a couple extra room towels if you want to take a dip in the ocean. If you're driving, parking is $21/night. You can tell the building is dated from inside and out but it wouldn't keep us from staying again if we needed a good night's rest.

Yelp
I stayed at this hotel from June 29-July 5th. The wiFi connection horrible. I could never connect my laptop to the wifi, I had to use my hotspot. The breakfast wasn't on time, they said 7, sometimes it was 7:15, 7:30 for it. Anytime my sisters or I took a shower, the floor was alway wet HOURS after a shower. The word "Ape" was written to us in our mirror. The sheets and pillows were mildewed in their smell. Every night the fire alarms were going off between 1-3 in the morning. The manager was hard to get a hold of. I wanted to speak to him because my speaker was stolen and I asked them to check cameras and he was never available and the front office staff couldn't check them either. The washer and dryer didn't work at their hotel so I had to use the washer and dryer at the hotel across and that washer and dryer basically had me waste $10. My clothes were not clean and were very damp. In the dining tables were not cleaned when breakfast was being served. The elevator had a few issues and I had to take the stairs a few times. The drawers didn't close properly in the room for the dresser. Every day there was a puddle of water under air conditioner. This hotel is good for sleeping and leaving, which is what my sisters and I did. We didn't stay in the room long. Breakfast was decent, the portion size was nice, but it was the same every three days. Not too many perks come with this hotel like beach access or transportation to the airport.

Yelp
The Holiday Inn Express in Condado was satisfactory, but nothing to write home about. If you're looking for a place to stay in a convenient area for a fair price, this Holiday Inn will do the job. Just don't expect anything fancy. The hotel itself is clean and fairly updated. However, the hotel rooms were seriously COMPACT (probably the smallest hotel room I've ever stayed in - worse than New York City). Fortunately, I don't go on vacation to stay in my room so the size wasn't really bothersome. My biggest gripe with this Holiday Inn is the lack of amenities. The pool area is very small and boxed in by a huge wall (much smaller than the photos appear - I'm not convinced the photos shown are actually of this hotel). There is no business center or gym on site. They do offer complementary breakfast (standard with Holiday Inns), but this had a very limited selection, was CRAZY busy (very difficult to find a seat), and the food is not frequently restocked. We received free wifi which was pretty fast; however, I can't remember if this is complimentary for everyone or only rewards member guests. The location is FANTASTIC! This Holiday Inn is located in the heart of the Condado neighborhood, literally 5 minutes walking distance from the beach and restaurants. Condado is basically right in between Old San Juan and the Airport. To get out of the neighborhood, you can take a taxi (there are always a few hanging out in front of the hotel) for 15-25$ basically anywhere in San Juan. Uber may be a few bucks cheaper, but you can't request a ride at any of the hotels or tourist stops so you'll have to walk down the block first. Lyft doesn't operate in PR. Parking: Practically nonexistent. There is a very small lot (maybe 5 spots?) available to hotel guests for a fee. Otherwise, neighborhood parking was nearly impossible in this area. I'd advise against using a rental car with this hotel. For a fair price you'll receive a small, no-frills room in a great location. The amenities are definitely lacking, but if that's not a deal-breaker then you ought to give this Holiday Inn a shot!

Yelp
Came to stay and first room we got (403) had bed bugs and they didn't give us a new room until the next day around 4 pm even though I went down at 3 am and then the manager argued with me about the fact it's not a bed bug. Then !!!!! They can't even compt us for the inconvenience not even alittle just straight attitude ANDDDDDD mind you we stayed here a week. Just horrible. Then they put us into a second round for the last days that we were there and they decided to inspect the second room as well ? For no reason because we already inspected it when we walked in and they inspected it the very last day that we stayed so very pointless in our opinion. Trying to argue the new room they gave us doesn't have bed bugs when they know the first room does because I brought the nasty blanket in the photo below down. Also making me late to our flight for all the misunderstanding an hour after check out... just disappointed with the hotel definitely will pick another next time. Other than that the employees are cool the management is just not good.

Yelp
This is the first negative review I ever felt the need to post here. After reaching out to IHG via email and not getting any satisfaction only excuses here I am. We went to San Juan for a wedding. Arrived there April 29 2022 and stayed until May 2 2022. The very first thing at check in we were told there was no on site garage/ parking lot but we were instructed we could park across the street for a discounted hotel price of $20.00 per night. There's no discount btw Its 17.00 per night but you can pull the car in and out as many times as you like in the 24 hour period. (You don't get a designated space tho) We went up to our king size suite To realize not all king size suites are the same. This was a king size bed in an average size room. The room had an AC that worked Thankfully but it also had a dehumidifier running. The very first night I developed a horrible cough and was coughing up tissues and tissues of mucous. When my husband pulled the full water chamber out of the dehumidifier it had black mold attached to the bottom hanging off it. We brought this to the attention of the staff and no one came to address this.My husband is the one that emptied the water when full each time rinsing it out. No one came in to check the machine or filters that DEFINITELY should be changed or maintained between each members visit They were not. I developed a virus and am still coughing a month later I have appointments with 2 specialists and a pulmonary function test ordered by the primary Dr. It's no joke. Mold exposure was the catalyst. The staff and management have been asked by their corporate office to reach out to us and they not. Getting ready to go to dinner was a joke. There's absolutely no full length mirror in that room. Electrical outlets are behind you in the bathroom area There's no place to set a flat iron unless you put it on the floor There's no vanity only a bathroom sink with a gap space to put maybe a stand up toothbrush. The shower doors had to be lifted up because they wouldn't close properly and water would get on the floors if it wasn't closed. Staff was told about this and we were told they'd come up to fix it. We waited until after 11pm No one came and the front desk had no idea what maintenence was doing. And management is non existent. We have been home for a month and all is have gotten in reply to my emails we're the corporate rep regurgitating an insincere apology of issues that I listed. IE: "I'm sorry that your shower doors were broken and no one came to fix it" Each complaint started with 'I'm sorry...____complaint ___" Very unprofessional I was told these issues must be addressed by management from the San Juan location. I was assured twice already someone would call me. "MR ANGEL I'm still waiting!" I got off track I apologize to you reading this. Breakfast is offered. It wasn't horrible Potatoes were very greasy so we didn't eat them the next day. They do have a variety of choices. If you must stay at this location do yourself a favor and eat the prewrapped muffins cereals etc. On our last day My husband throwing out his trash (I was too sick to really eat the entire stay). He was standing by the toaster area (which only one of the two worked when we were there) and there was a HUGE dead roach (about 2 inches) on its back right in plain site. That was it for us. No one picked it up. My husband's job requires him to be away from home and he always had only great experiences at the Holiday Inn EXCEPT THIS LOCATION! please note my review is ONLY for the San juan Coronado location. At this time with the lack of care we have received from the management at Coronado and the limited assistance their Corporate email responders He is now strongly considering not using IHG any longer for personal or business use. This is not how a long time "cherished member" or anyone should be treated. By the way we were not greeted with the usual Thank you for being a platinum member Would you like a welcome gift or points? There was barely eye contact at all Make sure if you're considering a stay in San juan you do not rely on their website. Email ahead of time and ask questions. Their website is pretty deceiving. Good luck Angel and Kelly lopez Platinum Elite member

Yelp
Here I was on the good old computer thinking I'm gonna take my girl on a nice trip and stay at a classy establishment. Holiday inn is the kind of place you can use the towels as toilet paper (cause there so soft) and ask for 20 toothbrushes for the ride home. Sometimes I even take the bed sheets home and pillows as a reminder of how great my trip was so when I sleep at home i can think of the good old inn. Now this location specifically dropped the ball. The highlight of my trip is always the pancake machine at breakfast. It's marvelous you click a button and watch a batter go from raw, to circle, to cook, to finish in 30 seconds. Truly a sight to be hold! It was gone! They gave me shitty toast and some raw sausage and eggs soggier then your mothers womb. Ruined my meal and trip cause I went up starts after and couldn't even gather myself to use the towel to wipe my butt due to how nasty the meal was. Had to use the toilet paper.

Yelp
We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express for the first two nights of our recent stay in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Based on the rate that we paid, the hotel was beyond our expectations, and wasn't bad at all. The lobby was tastefully decorated with a lovely color scheme in shades of blue. Once inside, we were warmly greeted by the receptionist who was very friendly and informative. Our room was very clean. The bed was sooo comfortable and dressed in quality, high thread count bedding--I feel asleep the minute I laid my head down. However, the fact that there was no rug on the floor next to the bed was the only downer. The bathroom, while contemporarily styled, was very compact with a shower that looked good, but was poorly designed, and allowed water to end up splashing out into the rest of the bathroom. Complimentary breakfast was served every morning, and there is a nice pool area, and a small convenient laundry room on-site, all of which are big pluses in my book. I would stay at the Holiday Inn Express again and recommend it to anyone spending a short stay in San Juan.

Yelp
This hotel was just about satisfactory. The free breakfast had the usual spread if bread, fruit, French toast, scrambled eggs, sausage and grits along with coffee and juice.it was nice to not step out of the hotel or think about what to eat and where before a long day of touring..the room itself was small but sufficient..the bathroom and other amenities we also appropriate..the best part was the location..being so close the beach and some amazing restaurants was the highlight for this hotel .. wouldn't be my first choice but would recommend it none the less..the in the lobby was super cute.. they changed the way it would sit/sleep

Yelp
We arrived here on Christmas Day to find the hotel was flooded. There were towels all over the floor and we were given a tiny room where the cot we requested did not fit and one of us had to sleep on the floor. At checkout we were charged the full amount. Over $400 for one night. I understand that accidents can happen, but at least own up to it and don't pretend everything was great.

Yelp
The Holiday Inn Express, San Juan (Condado Section) offers reasonable amenities for the budget traveler who wants to be in the heart of it all without paying the cost. I stayed here twice first in October of 08 then in April of 09. Location: Located on Mariano Ramirez Badges, a side street off of Ashford Ave in the Conrad Section of San Juan. FYI if you are using a GPS system, Mapquest, or the map off the Holiday Inn website you will be shown a different location on those maps. Nonetheless locate the Gucci or Cartier Stores on Ashford Ave and the hotel is on the side street in between them. Mariano Ramirez Badges is a one way street that only stretches about 1 1/2 blocks an is bordered on the south by the Lagoon and on the north by Ashford Ave. Directly across the street on Ashford Ave is a vast grass plaza (open to the public) that belongs to the Renaissance La Concha Hotel. The plaza leads directly to the beach and a pier. Hotel: Seven stories Biege concrete structure that is decorated in a tropical contemporized motif. The hotel offers only 16 parking spaces in a small adjacent lot for $10 a day. Reserve your spot with the booking since it fills up quickly. The hotel offers king and double rooms. A continental breakfast (Bagels, breakfast pasties, cereals, hard boiled eggs, fruits, juice, milk and coffee) is served daily from 6am to 10am. A small pool, business center, and fitness center are also offered. Something not offered is coin laundry. Room: All rooms are tiled and offer a tube television, mini fridge and free Wi-Fi and other additional amenities. The room(s) I stayed at was 601, directly right of the elevator. Although being close to the elevator I never heard any loud noises in my room. The second room was 702 which was mid hallway. The rooms had the same décor however 601 was two feet wider then 702 and 601 also contained a mini-fridge and 702 did not. The bathrooms were small however I believe they are standard hotel size. The beds have wheels and tend to move when you move. Air Conditioner unit is in room and you control it yourself. Staff is courteous, friendly and accommodating. Want to go to Old San Juan? Free city bus stop is one block away on Ashford. Hotel tends to get busy on weekends when its fills up with people who are boarding a cruise in the nearby Old San Juan Port. Within Walking Distance Walgreen's 24 Hour Pharmacy, Starbucks, Dunkin Donuts, Renaissance La Concha Casino, Marriott Casino, Chili's, Churches Chicken, Burger King, Krash Puerto Rico, Juniors VIP I and II, Circus Bar Lounge Bottom Line: I really enjoyed this hotel. I found it to be a great deal in a very upscale area. It is walking distance to casinos, Latin cuisine restaurants, fast food chains and the new up and coming gay night life area of Santurce.

Yelp
This is not a five star hotel as compared to The Ritz, but five stars as in clean, quiet and hospitable service. The room was very clean and the beds were not only very comfortable, but the sheets were high quality too. We had a quiet room with a somewhat view of the sea across the street. Because this was only an overnight stay for us, we chose to stay in Condado and pay under $125, compared to higher priced hotels in Old San Juan. There is a bus stop across the street on Ashford and the B21 will take you to Old San Juan for $0.75! The gal at the desk, Shely, was a gem. She called the airport for us and helped my mom converse with the Spirit Airline people over her lost luggage :( Overall, great service and accommodations at a great price. We got the best price from the Holiday Inn website (AAA rate).

Yelp
Absolutely disgusting. Never ever stay there. They have bed bugs. And when the front desk clerk was told he acted as if it wasn't bedbugs. THEY ARE BEDBUGS. The customer service was rude. Service was absent. This is the worse hotel ever. Absolutely disgusting. Stay at your own risk. Don't expect your money back.

Yelp
the free breakfast everyday consisted of: bagels, muffins, croissants, pre-made omelet, depending on the time you come eggos & sausages. sometimes there's yogurt and milk in the container. coffee, bananas, and cereal [which was literally eat there and not take with you; since it came from a dispenser. juice consisted of cranberry and pineapple that tastes like orange juice. two very small elevators. that makes you feel clasuphobic. they have a small gym that you'll have to ask for a key to use. there's a vending machine next to the ice machine. the vending machine consist of only drinks no snacks. self parking is across the street. 15 bucks a night. which sometimes have working elevators and sometimes not. and you gotta display this yellow paper. street parking is for taxis so don't risk getting a ticket. getting to the hotel is a one way street. kind of hard to find. if you see cartier turn on that street because the hotel is literally down the street. hotel rooms are small. its tiled floors so bring sandals to use for the room. bathrooms are tiny! if you don't leave the AC on for 60 a funky smell will appear and everything will feel damp. they don't really give you a lot of towels. i saw stains on one pillow and the sheet. so i had to remove it and lysol everything down. the button to flush the toilet was kind of hard to push down. they didn't give us a tissue box. they give you free shampoo, conditioner, mouthwash, lotion, shower cap, and bar soap. there's free wi-fi which is a little slow but works when you need free internet. pros: walking distance to little bouqtues, food [i.e. subway, dennys, yogurtfit, ben&jerry, etc.] across the street from the beach. there's an LV, cartier, mont blanc, etc just around the corner. there's two starbucks in walking distance, 2 subways, souvenir shops, walgreen with a redbox, etc. there's a staff in the lobby that can give you recommendations on what to do in PR. if you're chilling in the lobby there's plugs where you can charge your phone if you have your charger as well. i used it! :) i would recommend staying here because truly no one plans to stay in their hotel room all day/night. most of the time you're out and about seeing the town anyways so i say why not. if the holiday inn express has a deal take it and spend the money you would've on the hotel on good food, gifts, and attractions.

Yelp
I booked this hotel very last minute, so I didn't really know what I was getting into. The service/staff are all great. There's free breakfast in the morning hours, a pool/spa & really, really, REALLY good wi-fi. Best wi-fi from any hotel I stayed at. The rooms were clean and modern and the bathrooms are updated as well. Overall, for about $100/night, you get what you expect from a Holiday Inn Express Now that I got the good out of the way, the location is awful. It's nestled in between 50 buildings on a hard-to-find street. They only have about 5-8 parking spots (which for a 10-story hotel is RIDICULOUS). You have to park in a valet lot nearby for around $10-15 a day or be lucky enough to find street parking. The parking killed. I'll come back to stay by the beach in Condado, but not with a rental car.

Yelp
My original hotel had a situation, so they moved us into the Holiday Inn which was next door. This was a major downgrade from the one I had originally booked. The room door had to by slammed and pulled to be closed and I found roaches in the room on the first day of staying there. Additionally, the breakfast portions that were brought up to the room (because of covid19) were extremely small and always cold.

Yelp
Words cannot express my sincerest gratitude to the entire staff of this Holiday Inn. Yes it is a "basic" hotel, but that does not accurately describe the level of service and care I received while taking refuge here during Hurricane Maria. They were not only incredibly prepared and concerned for our safety and comfort, they also maintained their smiles and professionalism amidst a catastrophic natural disaster. Every effort was made to lift guests spirits by all members of the staff, especially Michael. Michael made us all feel like we were family staying in his home. Patricia is the hardest working manager I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. I am so grateful for her strength and attention to detail throughout this entire hardship. Santa has gone above and beyond to make my room feel like home (she even kept my family and I in her prayers). It doesn't end there, every single member of staff, whether client facing or behind the scenes, has made incredible sacrifices to be 24/7 on premise serving us instead of being home with their families. Some staff members have yet to hear any news from their family on the west coast of the island, and they are still here working around the clock. It is unheard of. I come from a 5-star hotel management background, managing at the most elite hotel in Manhattan, and I can whole heartedly say that this little Holiday Inn Express has set the bar high for hospitality excellence and I've learned so much from this place. For those of you who read this review from the hotel/corporate-- standing ovation.

Yelp
This hotel may not be overly fancy....but it is literally a five minute walk to the water front. Each night I'd get off work and head there to watch the sun set and get some dinner. It was amazing. The rates are reasonable and the room was quite nice. Free wifi, free continental breakfast. They have a pool, which is open late (11 pm). The staff was very helpful throughout the entire stay. There are ALWAYS cabs out front of the hotel as well, waiting for you :)

Patti W.

Yelp
Maybe the worst experience in all my traveling. They show pictures of the palm trees and sea out the window but when you get there they explain there are no such rooms. Roaches were huge, go in to get a snack and a 3" roach runs across the floor. The pool was barricaded off two nights by scaffolding. Coffee was cold 2 mornings. Kids screaming, people coming in all hours of night and morning screaming, yelling. They advertise tub/shower combo....wrong. A shower will no ledge and the water runs all over the floor. Fan didn't work in bathroom. The soap holder did not hold the little bars of soap the give you. Pool and hot tub area had absolutely NO lights whatsoever. They tell you the beach is right across the street, which is correct however, they don't tell you their chairs are 1/4 mile up the beach . I will say the staff was very friendly and helpful.

Yelp
Rooms are up to date and clean. You get what you pay for. It's a nice hotel to stay in. We didn't plan to stay in the hotel much so the small room did not bother us. Beds are confortable. I agree with the restrooms comments on the design. We were okay with that just think is creates more work for housekeeping. There is a beach less than 5 min away and the hotel provides at this location; beach chairs, towels, and umbrellas. There is also another very small beach super calm water great for small kids about 7 min walking distance. Close to restaurants, Walgreen, CVS, and bus stops. Jose Luis, Michael, and Edith were very helpful, friendly and professional! Always greeting with a smile and ready to help. Took one star off due to one person next to reception were you book tours with the hotel. We asked to borrow towels because we were going on a tour. Seems she got upset when she figured out we didn't book it with the hotel and said "we don't like to do that" and reluctantly handed us 3 towels and said "you need to bring them back!". I didn't get her name. It's our choice who we book with. We didn't let that experience ruin our stay and one person should not effect on rest of the review the other staff were extremely nice.

Yelp
The rooms were satisfactorily clean, and the size of the rooms doesn't bother me. I'm here to sleep, not to hang out in my room. (The clean rooms and friendly staff are the only thing keeping this from being a 1-star review.) Here's the beef: The breakfast buffet uses only styrofoam. Even the coffee cups are styrofoam, like it's 1985 or something. I'm a regular at Holiday Inns across the country. I've (very reluctantly) accepted that if I don't bring my own plate, I'm going to have to use styrofoam plates. But styrofoam coffee cups? That's a bit too far for me. There are so many less-harmful options. And the coffee lids- are you ready for this- they don't have a hole to drink out of! It's just a fully-enclosed lid. So, ya know, good luck with that. (At least I had a fun moment with the stranger in line next to me as we laughed at the ridiculous hole-less coffee lids.) In my room there's a sign about how they don't wash my towels unless they are left on the floor- an initiative I fully support. But when you are forced to use styrofoam for anything you consume, it becomes apparent that these people have no regard for the environment (in a place where, ironically, environmental tourism accounts for a huge amount of the revenue)- rather, they take shortcuts to save a buck.

Yelp
1 - Location: Everything is between 2 -10 mins away walking. Casinos, restaurants, bars, clubs, CVS, Walgreens, the beach, etc. A taxi to Old San Juan or Isle Verde is $20. 1 - Service: The concierge can book Rain Forest Tours, ATV Adventures, Horse Riding, Snorkeling, Bacardi Tours, Sailing Tours, etc. Everyone was friendly. Housekeeping was quick and efficient. 1 - Free Breakfast: According to others, local breakfast was expensive. So who can complain about bacon, eggs, sausage, waffles, fruit, yogurt, cereal, pastries, etc. I don't want to mislead. They're no IHOP or Denny's, but you're sure to find something to start your day. Especially, if you partied to 5AM and have to be up by 7 to catch a shuttle for a Rain Forest Hike. 1 - Price: You get what you pay for. The room was inexpensive, so do not expect a resort. The pool is nice and there's a Jacuzzi. We spent some time drinking and partying there one night. Shhhhhh, I'm not sure if that's allowed. - 1 Room - The room is damp. The ventilation is not very good there. The room is also small. It is big enough for two, but 3 would be uncomfortable and four would be close to impossible. Once you put up the ironing board or choose a mirror to put on make up, you are in the way. Speaking of makeup, the lightening is bad. All in all, you get what you pay for. If you're looking to enjoy San Juan, you won't be spending much time in the room anyway :)
