I stayed here on one of the coldest Melbourne winter nights (31/08), and honestly, it was the single worst hotel experience of my life.
The room looked fine at first spacious and clean but the heater didn’t work and its really cold night. After an hour of freezing, I called reception. They promised to send someone. Nobody came. When I called again, the receptionist casually asked, “Do you want a blanket?” as if that would fix a broken heater in the middle of winter. I had to push just to get her to come up and check for herself.
When she finally arrived, she admitted the heater was broken and offered me either a blanket or a new room. Of course I said I wanted to move. She told me to pack up and wait. Almost an hour later, instead of moving me, a duty manager showed up with two blankets and a tiny plug-in heater. He told me the only spare room was on the ground floor and “might be noisy,” so it was better to stay put. I told him one little heater wouldn’t heat a large room, and he promised to bring another. He never came back. No heater, no call, nothing.
I only stayed here because I had an early international flight and needed a proper rest. Instead, I spent the night freezing, waiting, and dealing with staff who clearly didn’t care. If they cared about guest comfort, they would’ve swapped the room immediately or at least followed through with what they promised. I really wish i can give you ZERO star.
