It was fine. That's it, fine. The AC didn't seem to fully cool, there was a weird humidity in the whole room and hallway. There was also somewhat of a smell, like somebody had cooked something last week and it was lingering. Like other reviews, it didn't seem like the room had been thoroughly cleaned. The good parts: check-in was easy, staff were polite, parking was easy.

Great overall experience. The man who welcomes you at breakfast is very professional, polite, and attentive, always making sure everything is fine. The swimming pool is nice and deep enough. Having a restaurant on site is a plus for a late-night snack, although the kitchen closes at 9:20 pm. It’s also conveniently located just a 2-minute walk from a sushi AYCE restaurant and a 4-minute walk from McDonald’s.

Not as advertised. They put us in a "dog friendly" room that was damaged, no carpet, and loud because it was near the pool. The telephone didn't work. I was disappointed that I could have, for the same price, booked at the Marriott. The breakfast was the same as a 1 star hotel. I spoke to the front desk who admitted that they are renovating the dog friendly room because It's damaged. Then why charge customers almost $300 for one night??? It's very unprofessional and unacceptable. Never returning.

All in all a decent Holiday Inn. The staff was pretty good and the rooms were clean. It is a little dated but I found my bed to be comfortable and the room quiet. The location in the town was fine, near the South end, not a lot of great restaurants to walk to but there is enough. If you are looking for a comfortable room and a decent place this fits the bill. The parking was not great. Breakfast is not included but there is a restaurant on site with a bar.

Chose this hotel because it was dog friendly and within the government cost ceilings that we are allowed to book. We were travelling across the country on a move and needed a place to sleep well with our two dogs after a long day of driving. The employees were so friendly and helpful, so no complaints there. 10/10 hospitality and kindness. However this hotel has designated pet rooms. Ok in theory, except the dog rooms sit squarely between the exterior door, hallway door to other floors, the elevator, and the pool. The noise is unbearable - people screaming in the hallway, people slamming doors, kids screaming until late etc. Bad behaviour by hotel users is not the hotel's fault, but the dogs were on high alert all night, and the rooms were not soundproof. Just a bad location to house dogs in general. I don't know what the rest of the hotel is like outside the pet area, so I can't review that. However I do not recommend staying here if you have dogs, especially if they are reactive. There is also little to no green space for pets to go to the bathroom, so not ideal for a stay with dogs.

I’ve visited this hotel for several years now and each visit adds more disappointment. From fowl smelling rooms to virtually non-existent wifi to being ignored by staff. Every time I’m here I have to remind them I’d been here several times and remind them to add my rewards to the account. The front staff are generally too busy to say hello or good morning even with no customer to serve. Customer service no longer exists I guess. Shame.

Decent hotel. Seems like the better choice in the area. However, a tad pricey ($200+) for a double queen. Pool and gym are a bit dated and not inviting. It’a a hassle to use as you have to get separate keys to use the pool or gym. The beds are comfy though and rooms are fairly sized. Fridge and coffee maker in the room. Great location. Nice sushi place on the next building. Staffs are not so welcoming, not rude but not very welcoming if you know what I mean.

The overall service was fine. The girls in the restaurant were friendly and efficient. Quite disappointed with the rest of my experience. Hallway on the 2nd floor and hotel room were dirty and dusty. Our toilet didn’t work properly, shower broken. Not in the best area of town. On the expensive side for what you get. Not accessible for wheelchairs. Would not recommend, especially for the price.

Yelp
If I could give this place 0 stars I would. We had to stay 4 nights. First of all, we asked for a king size bed. We asked the front desk reception when we arrived if we would get a king size bed, they said "yes". We were put in the "Ramsey Wing", which apparently has no king size beds. My boyfriend asked out of curiosity how many guests are staying at the hotel due to the lockdown, we figured not many people were travelling. He was told that there were ten rooms rented at the time. The ONLY reason why we were travelling is because of final exams that needed to be written at Collège Boréal, I digress...We checked in on Sunday and the hotel is pretty lacklustre. We usually stay at another hotel in Sudbury but got a better deal here. Things were fine until Tuesday night when the front desk staff decided to give the room next to ours to other guests. Our room shared a door with theirs which means that we heard everything that was going on next door! I was livid. I could not believe that in an EMPTY hotel the front desk staff thought it was a good idea to place strangers next to each other with a shared door. Why?! These people were loud, playing music, to the point where I had to call the front desk to complain because I had an exam to write in the morning. I was more upset about the Holiday Inn putting people next to us with a SHARED door in and EMPTY hotel than I was about being disturbed by said people. Talk about customer service. Know your rooms, know your occupancy and place guests accordingly. It's not hard. Also, the ice machine on our floor was broken, which I mentioned to the front desk on Sunday...They said that they would send someone from maintenance to fix it and never did. The ice machine on the 6th floor is also broken. This place is the pits. Avoid. (The only redeeming quality is that it is close to the Four Corners and many different dining options)...

Yelp
I'm in Sudbury for a funeral so this was my venue of choice close to all the arrangements. I was greeted by a cheerful Donna M. as I walked up to the Check-in desk. She confirmed all my information, scanned my credit card, got me to sign or initial a form in several places, gave me 2 room access cards and pointed me in the direction of my room. Very nice! Very efficient! It's a nice hotel with lots of amenities like free WiFi, a 24-hour fitness room, a swimming pool, and a restaurant/dining room. There are gas stations, restaurants and malls close to this hotel and less than 5km to the City Centre downtown core. My room had two double beds and a good setup. The A/C was worth the $133 room rate!

Yelp
With a spur of the moment decision to take a road trip up to Sudbury having only 15minutes to pack and get out the door. There was no better choice in my mind other than to stay at the Holiday Inn Sudbury on Regent St. While on the road I made my reservation with a front desk clerk who was more than warm and welcoming. Upon my arrival I received the true feeling that they were expecting me. With no delays in receiving my accommodation. The room was spotlessly clean with the AC preset to a comfortable temperature for the Summer Season. Even with the renovations in the lobby and around the hotel, the staff unitedly made every effort to make sure my stay was top class. The construction workers arrived, worked, and packed up at decent hours of the day, without any noise seeping into the rooms in the main building (where the construction was taking place). Upon my checkout I really felt the warmth and friendliness from the staff making Holiday Inn Sudbury a definite place to revisit on business or pleasure

Yelp
Good place to stay in Sudbury. If you're coming from the south, it's located right as you get into town. Go to eddie's across the street for breakfast. The (hotel) bar closes at 11pm. Kind of random, but it is a Holiday Inn after all. Good place for families. The pool was closed. I never thought I would be that guy to comment on something like that, but the kidlets we were travelling with were upset they couldn't go in their 'cloudy' water. Ah well. Super cool housekeepers too. All staff greeted us with a smile. Reasonably priced, as well.

Yelp
This review is for the front 'Rendez Vous Lounge'. I live nearby and drop in here once or twice a month for a beer and food while watching the hockey game. The service is always very friendly and efficient, and I do have my favourite server who always remembers my Stella when I come in. Sometimes new staff could use more professional training, but they make up for it in friendliness. The food here is always decent quality for the price. When busy the kitchen may be a little slow, but I don't mind waiting for quality. I usually get a big salad with steak on top, with a nice side of warm bread. It's perfect for me. Other good things are the burger, and the fries are good too, with mayo. They have a decent selection of craft and specialty beers too. My only comment would be the atmosphere; they need to turn the lights down a bit so it feels more lounge-like. Sometimes it feels too much like a cold airport. The acoustics are not great either when busy, with so many hard surfaces. I'd suggest a big soft area rug by the fire to soak up the noise. Other than that, it's a good spot to spend a few hours with free wifi at their big giant family style tables, or sitting at the bar watching hockey with a beer.

Yelp
I had to book a room for one night because renovations are being done at my house and I needed a place to stay the night. I booked - AND PAYED IN ADVANCE - online, only to arrive at the hotel to check in, and the receptionist DENIED ME. Her reason being: I was a local resident. SHE WOULD NOT LET ME CHECK IN BECAUSE I LIVE WITHIN THE CITY. I spoke to a manger and I do not lie when I say that the receptionist (who had an AirPod in listening to music) and the manager were the RUDEST people I have met in a long time. Not only did they refuse to let me check in, but the receptionist repeatedly raised her hand to silence me when I was speaking. The manager should be fired on the spot, she has no understanding of customer service and it baffles me how she was ever put in such a position. This is unacceptable, and I will NEVER be returning, nor will I ever recommend this hotel to anyone.

Yelp
We ate at the restaurant, it was good. We also stayed here for one night. Layout of the hotel was a little confusing at first, but once you got used to it, it was fine. Large space for conferences, pool, fitness?-I don't know. We got lost in one building, and I found the smoking floor and it stunk, I'd avoid that (unless you are into that, blech).

Yelp
Truly no complaints. However, we only stayed for 1 night and we left early in the AM. We had our folio at the door when we woke up. The room was clean and beautifully decorated. The beds were cleaned and I love that they have soft and hard pillows. It truly gives you an option :). The only thing is that the wifi is super super super super super super slow. Do not expect to do anything on it. Not even FB.

Yelp
Great Value for Money. We got two rooms for the kids and us, they were clean and very comfortable. The staff was friendly and very accommodating, by the end of our two day stay my wife knew everyones names. My daughter loved the indoor pool, and the fitness room was nice too. The restaurant had a great Thanksgiving Buffet going when we got there, if your there for lunch order the Hamburger "The WORXS", it's freshly made not frozen, one of the better burger's I've had. Even though it was only two days, we left feeling relaxed. BTW the drive to Sudbury is amazing, I've never seen so many white birch trees, and with the leaves changing colours it looked liked "Truffula Trees" (Dr Suess, The Lorax). We're already talking about going back again next year.

Yelp
Not worth it. Extremely disappointing for a $200+ room. Horrible service checking in. Extremely slow took 25 minutes, did not listen to how we wanted the pay. Did not tell us we had to walk quite a long way to the elevator, my mother is elderly and this was difficult. There are no signs to the elevator or the rooms.

Anastasia M.

Yelp
The hotel overall was good. The one star is based on an extremely rude and belligerent employee Anita who was "greeting" guests at breakfast. Rude, unprofessional and just unacceptable. Management should retrain Anita to be less unhappy and take her role as a service professional seriously.

Yelp
This was one the worst hotels I've stayed in. The staff was less than courteous; while the room decor was nice, there was no hot water and they were not very helpful in trying to get it fixed. They neglected to say the pool was closed and the fire alarm went off every night. It listed two restaurants on premises, but there was only the bar available. They neglected to say they were under extensive renovations. When I asked for alittle rebate for all the incoveniences, I was spoken to quite rudely and told there was nothing they could do. I would never recommend this hotel.

Justin P.

Yelp
This location is clearly aged, however they are in the middle of renovations and overall the hotel looks pretty good. The service is friendly but not the fastest in the world. The restaurant offers good food at good prices.

Yelp
SUPER frustrating internet. WiFi is VERY patchy. I had trouble connecting (and then, once connected, staying connected) both with my phone and laptop (even in areas where there is a "good" signal). I can't get anything meaningful done on my laptop because the internet drops every few minutes. I've tried yesterday and today, both in my room and in the conference area - it has been consistently bad.
