Our stay at the Holiday Inn in Sudbury was disappointing overall, especially after a long day of travel. (Stayed December 13-14 2025)
We were placed on the 4th floor and unfortunately the elevator was out of service. After several hours on the road, having to carry luggage up four flights of stairs was not ideal and no assistance or alternatives were offered.(nor did the staff seem bothered) we were shown the stairs lol (kinda comical)
The sports and fitness facilities were also closed due to maintenance, which was another letdown.
We had prepaid for breakfast when booking the room, and it was quite poor. The sausage was dried out, the French toast was very cold, and the bacon looked grey, the overall quality wasn’t worth the extra cost. (We didn’t eat much and left to grab a bite somewhere else)
The manager working in the dining room came across as aggressive, directing guests to sit where he wanted them rather than allowing choice, which made the experience uncomfortable.
Customer service throughout our stay was subpar. Despite multiple inconveniences, nothing was offered to acknowledge or make up for the issues.
With better communication, friendlier service, and attention to guest experience, this hotel could improve significantly - Holidays Inn is usually one of our top choices due to their high standards - this one missed the boat bigtime .. HUGE!
We stay in Sudbury often visiting our daughter and family - thought we give it a try from our norm, oh well! Thankfully it was just one night
