As a platinum rewards member I love IHG. Checked into here on Saturday, Room was fine, went to the four corners restaurant in the morning, was (not) greeted by what seemed to be the restaurant manager, older aged bald guy, did not get his name, was on the phone and just pointed for me to sit somewhere. Okay… staff took longer to greet me, brought a glass of water and just told me to help myself to the buffet. Didn’t get offered any drinks until I came back with my food and had to wait 2 minutes before that happened. I’m big on service at restaurants, being someone who visibly looks different you do see how people treat you with disregard and it hurts because I have a lot of respect and smiles to share with others. Unfortunately won’t be giving my money to this place anymore.

We were surprised at the size of this hotel when we arrived. There are so many spaces to hold events and/or conferences. The decor has been updated and modernized, which we appreciated. Our bar experience was excellent. Our room was comfortable. Internet speed was great, and there were a lot of channel options on the TV. We had a fantastic walk-in shower. This was an easy to get to hotel with great service. We'd be comfortable staying here for multiple days.

*** editing since I cannot reply to the managers “response” *** whether a team manager signed a contract or not I was the one to personally book my own room, and never once was informed about this “mandatory sudbury tax” from the hotel staff not once while I was booking by phone call or during check-in! both times I was told of a rate plus tax, which under normal circumstance would be our typical 13% And not an additional 6% for a specified city, My issue was that it was never disclosed to me personally at any point in time which the staff should do for any booking since most cities dot have this “extra tax”.
The noise complaints were Before the mandatory quiet time of 11 PM on the Friday. On the Saturday is when you came in to “shut us down” when it was just the adults sitting and chatting in the community room we had booked and your excuse then was that we had noise complaints on the Friday, yet kids were all in bed from our team long before that! Blaming the guests instead of trying to correct things is poor management******
Terrible customer service! I don’t normally write reviews, but to save anybody else the hassle, be sure to check your credit card bill after you’ve left! I booked at one price and once I was home, I checked on my credit card statement and noticed that the price was higher than what I had been booked at. When I called to correct, they told me “oh there’s also a mandatory Sudbury tax” which I was never informed of during booking OR check-in and basically “sorry about your luck, call the town of Sudbury” without any other help.
Their tile flooring around the pool was extremely slippery when wet to the point that my younger kids could not even walk on the floor at all. Their breakfast was mediocre best, you could hardly eat it.
Our group was hassled for noise complaints , even though we hardly spent any time at the hotel, our kids were in bed before 10 both nights (late evening and early morning hockey games ) , and we had the rooms beside, above and below our community room, yet another group was running around, playing mini sticks and going in and out of the doors until 2:30am both nights without issues . Bathrooms in the rooms are very small, can barely close the door.
Use caution when booking here and be sure to check over your bill after you check-out!

Firstly, I was thoroughly impressed with the exceptional service provided by the staff. Their attentiveness and friendliness made our stay truly enjoyable.
Additionally, the food was outstanding. Each meal was delicious and beautifully presented, showcasing a variety of flavors that catered to all tastes.
The hotel's location is another highlight; it is conveniently situated close to many attractions and amenities, making it easy to explore the area.
Overall, I highly recommend The Holiday Inn Sudbury for anyone looking for a memorable stay with great service, fantastic food, and a prime location.

The room size and amenities are great. It would be nice to be able to cast to the TV though. The Bathroom could do with some refreshing, the corner shower is definitely on the small side. and it wasn't a jetted tub as described.

I have been using IHG chains for years. This is the absolutely worst hotel in terms of customer service I have been to. The staff refused to accommodate a late checkout (1pm) and I had to negotiate to obtain a 12pm checkout, despite being a platinum elite member with one of the perks being a 2pm checkout. It was being requested for safety reasons due to driving/sleep. This is the only hotel in both the US and CAN that I have had such a difficult time with this request.
The actual room, the primary door to the room do not close properly (in some of them). I have been here prior where the locks are broken as well. Despite these things I have returned due to being a loyal IHG member. However, following this last stay I will no longer be returning here.
There are other hotels in Sudbury that are much nicer.

Room 551 was clean and updated. I paid $177 in total in February 2025.
Breakfast coffee was excellent and provided a small pot so I could enjoy many cups.

This is my go to hotel when in Sudbury. It is clean, well maintained, and in a perfect location. I love the choice of pillows and always enjoy a delicious breakfast in their restaurant. The front desk staff are always friendly and helpful. All in all a terrific experience!
