Holiday Villa Resort & Beachclub Langkawi

I don’t even know where to begin – this hotel is absolutely amazing! I’ve never stayed at a place with such fantastic service. The staff are incredibly kind and helpful with everything. The rooms are large and spacious, with balconies where you can enjoy beautiful sunsets in the evening. The hotel restaurant serves high-quality food at reasonable prices – there’s something for everyone on the menu. The drinks are also fantastic. The hotel is located right by the beach and has several pools to enjoy. There are plenty of restaurants and small shops nearby where you can find everything you need. I highly recommend this hotel to everyone. We will definitely come back the next time we’re in Langkawi, because I doubt there’s a better hotel out there!

We stayed at a lovely hotel in Langkawi and had a great overall experience! The view was beautiful, and the rooms were very clean. Bedsheets and towels were fresh and spotless, and the air conditioning worked perfectly, keeping the room cool and comfortable throughout our stay. The food was fresh and tasty, with a good variety to choose from. One of the highlights was the friendly and helpful reception staff – they made us feel very welcome. The hotel has swimming pools for both adults and children, which is perfect for families. They also offer life jacket rentals for kids, which we really appreciated. The only small downside was that housekeeping was a bit slow to arrive, but once they came, they did a good job. Overall, it was a great place to stay in Langkawi, and I would definitely recommend it to families and couples alike!

The check-in process was slow and this was compounded by another very pushy tour group arrived just after ours and demanded the staffs attention. The staff did not seem to be trained in how to deal with this type of situation. We witnessed the same behaviour and staff response to this group on several occasions. We have seen staff at other hotels deal with such people firmly and politely to address such pushy rude behaviour. ||The hotel encourages guests to use the in-room safe to secure valuables however the safe in 3 rooms that we viewed had all been locked out. When we mentioned this at reception no attempt was made to fix the situation.||The selection of western food at breakfast was very limited. Other than breakfast we found the food in the other bars and cafes at the hotel to be very good. ||Whilst the rooms are dated, they are a good size, they were clean and everything worked with the exception of the safes. The housekeeping staff need a check list to work off as on a number of occasions items that we had used in the room were not replaced/replenished. However staff were quick to rectify this when notified. ||The hotel was some distance from the nearest shopping district however there was a selection of small restaurants located within easy walking distance and the food we had in these was excellent. On Wednesday night and Friday night whilst we were there they had a great band playing at the Beach Bar. The band, the quality of the food at the beach bar and the service all made for some great nights entertainment. Each of the members of the band came around and spoke to each of the guests during their breaks. ||All in all we had a pleasant stay here despite a few minor issues.

We stayed at Holiday Villa in Langkawi for a few days and honestly had such a lovely time. The location is perfect, right by the beach, and close to everything you need. The pool area is super relaxing and the sunsets were absolutely stunning. Our room was clean and spacious, with a comfortable bed and a nice balcony. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay, always with a smile. It’s a great spot if you’re looking to unwind as a couple. Quiet, cozy, and with all the essentials. We would definitely recommend it and would love to come back one day!

We spent 4 nights in this hotel and I definitely give them 5 stars in each category. I have read the last 20 reviews and I completely disagree with all negative reviews. This is the best value for the price we paid. Not sure someone might expect The Ritz-Carlton standard for this money... but all I can say is that the rooms are spacious, clean, the bathroom is big, plenty of wardrobe space, nice balcony, the garden and pool area is beautiful there is a direct beach with sunbeds and towels and shower facilities. The watersport center is right at the hotel's beach ( you have to negotiate the prices there though, their list prices are ridiculous). The pool is very nice and clean there is no noise and no lots of kids at the pool. Our room price did not have access to the infinity pool but tbh I was more than happy with the main pool and the beach and the beautiful view to the islands. The staff is very kind everyone on site is really lovely. Late check out is not a problem there is a shower to use at late check out. We did not have breakfast at the hotel, thanks to someone's recommendation here in the reviews we tried Cactus the first day and we kept going back every day super nice people, local business, delicious food. I have explored the island really well and all I can say this hotel has an amazing location, a secluded beach that is quiet, 2 km from the touristy strip, if you wish to go there the easiest is to drive a motorbike or you can take a grab. The cable car is a 30 Min drive on the motorbike. If you rent a motorbike I highly recommend checking out Tanjung Rhu beach on the northern part of the island, it is stunning. Kalut beach bar is very popular on Cenang beach with the fire show, it is 10 Min on the scooter.

Wonderful Stay with Great Service – But Needs Better Guest Management We had an overall lovely stay at the hotel. Check-in was smooth, and the staff were friendly and very accommodating throughout. Special mention to Moga at the pool bar—he was absolutely fantastic! Attentive, personable, and made amazing cocktails that really elevated our poolside experience. Breakfast was also good, with a decent variety and attentive service. However, I do feel it's important to highlight a serious concern that affected our experience during breakfast. Some tourist/Indian national guests behaved extremely rudely—they sat at our table without asking, interrupting our privacy. More disturbingly, they were openly stealing food and packing it into their bags, despite other guests still trying to enjoy their meal. We were informed this had been happening for the past three days, and while only a mild warning was given, I feel the hotel management needs to take stricter action to prevent this from recurring. It truly affects the experience for other respectful guests. Perhaps management could implement a policy asking guests to leave bags outside the dining area for security and to maintain a more respectful environment. I truly hope this feedback helps improve the overall experience, as the hotel and staff deserve better, and so do your guests.

Stayed at Holiday Villa Langkawi in mid-June, drawn by its prime beachfront location — but unfortunately, the experience was deeply disappointing from the moment we checked in. Despite booking a premium room, what we got was far from it: Poor cleanliness, outdated furniture, foul smell, and even rat droppings in the room. The shower ceiling was falling off due to seepage, and their maintenance team couldn’t fix it. After much hassle, we were shifted at night to a better room in a newer wing — a big thanks to the female manager (wish I had her name) for helping us. But why those better rooms aren't given to premium guests in the first place is beyond me. Other major issues: Spa services were average at best. Food was absolutely pathetic – we found a cockroach in the dal, and on another day, the vegetables had a foul smell. We weren’t the only ones complaining — many guests echoed the same. The pool was dirty, and the bartender at the pool bar was extremely rude. The only saving grace is its direct access to the beach — but honestly, it’s not worth compromising your comfort and hygiene. Strongly suggest staying at another property near Cenang Beach. Don’t fall for the pictures — the reality is completely different.
