The Best Waterslides Around the World

"Home to Wildebeest, a one-third-mile raft ride that lasts roughly two and a half minutes and combines a conveyor-belt lift, a four-story drop, two underground tunnels, and a helix; the conveyor lift also improves accessibility for guests who have difficulty with stairs." - Cailey Rizzo Cailey Rizzo Cailey Rizzo is a contributing writer for Travel + Leisure. We had a wonderful time. I rented a cabana near the wave pool. It's a very fun park with attractions for everyone to enjoy. Loved the free soda and suntan lotion. Rode the loved Cheetah Chase. Loved it as well as the Mammoth. It's pretty intense for a water ride. Challenged my 7 year old granddaughter on the racing slides. She loved that. Rode the Voyage and the Legend. Pretty intense coasters but fun. Overall highly recommend this park.

Google
This was a great theme park. Plenty of large roller coasters and small faire style rides (and even rides for your younger children). This park has enough to offer a fun time for the entire family. I spent one day here and had a blast, but there’s enough to do here to spend more than one day at the park. In my one day, I didn’t spend much time waiting in lines, but I still wasn’t able to do everything this park had to offer. If you enjoy theme parks, you’ll definitely enjoy Holiday World.

Google
One of the best parks we have been to. The water park was clean and had some amazing water rides. The lazy river is not the greatest, but the rest makes up for it. The theme park was clean and had an enjoyable environment. The themed areas were entertaining and well decorated. There were different level rides for all ages. The large wooden coasters are some of the best in the country, but are a little rough to go on. The steel coaster located in the back of the park was the smoothest rollercoaster I've ever been on. We will definitely go back!

Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari is one of our absolute favorite places to visit in Indiana. The park is clean, well run, and full of thoughtful touches. From the free drinks and sunscreen to the shaded seating and genuinely kind staff, everything feels designed to make families feel welcome and taken care of. Every holiday-themed section has something special to offer. This year, we discovered new favorites like Good Gravy and wrapped up the night with one of the best drone and firework shows we have ever seen. We’ve been before and we will definitely be back again. If you are looking for a place that mixes high-energy fun with rest and joy for every age, Holiday World is it.

Absolutely LOVED this theme park. There is so much fun to be had between traditional roller coasters and the water park section. We rode pretty much every ride, the lines aren’t crazy long like at other theme parks. The cost of admission is also affordable compared to other major theme parks, they also offer nursing discount, wonderful perk. The rides are so much fun, I love the holiday themed lands. It’s a unique theme park perfect for the family, however, a lot of the rides are for older kids, so I recommend it for older kids. Can’t wait to come again!

Large family vacation 13 of us ages ranged from 2 to 62 . Lots parking .Fast entry into park. I was bit surprised on amount of hills to climb ( wish I had rented a scooter on sight). Water park was lots fun for all. Little ones had super fun on kid rides as well as big kids riding roller coasters and big water slides.

From what we were able to experience, we had a blast. Unfortunately, the weather got the best of us but thanks to the amazing weather guarantee, we get to come back! How awesome is that?? We have kids aging from 3-13 (plus a baby) and everyone was able to enjoy themselves! I love how family friendly it is here! We packed a lunch and we're able to exit the park (you can re-enter!) and eat lunch in a pavilion with a view of the lake! We can't wait to return to be able to fully enjoy the whole park!

Google
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Clean, Fun, and a Family Favorite! — We visit Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari every year for my husband’s work party, and it’s always a highlight of our summer. The park is extremely well-maintained, the staff is friendly, and everything feels organized and safe. I love that it’s both a theme park and a waterpark — there’s truly something for everyone. The atmosphere is different from other parks too — more relaxed, family-friendly, and just an overall great vibe. It’s a place we look forward to returning to year after year. Highly recommend for families or groups looking for a full day of fun!

Yelp
I am so mad that I did not come here sooner. First, they have free parking. Then they throw in free sunscreen and soft drinks. You can't beat that. This place is half water park, half amusement park. They have an adequate amount of restrooms and eateries sprinkled around both areas. The staff there were all amazing. They were helpful, friendly and energetic. The park is right over the Central time line, putting it in the Central Time Zone. So, that gave me an extra hour coming from Indianapolis. The way back sucked though. What I like about the park is that it is very family friendly. The amusement park has a small kid area, They have a splash pad area, wooden roller coaster, steel roller coasters, log flume, swing, thrill rides, family rides, interactive rides and a very nice magic show. Two of our favorite rides were the Good Gravy coaster and the Gobbler Getaway. My littles really loved this place. The photo package that they have is a great deal and my family took full advantage of it. I recommend getting it if you are going to be spending any amount time there. The water park has a bunch of slides, a lazy river, a wave pool, and a splash area for the littles. It was a hot day when I visited so most people were in the water park area. That is why I spent the majority of my time in the amusement park area. I had a minimal wait to get on the rides, if any. The water park does close about 2 hours before the amusement park, so the amusement area did get packed during that time. In the Summer, you can cap off your evening with a wonderful drone show after the park closes. It is definitely worth catching if you can. My littles and I really enjoyed our time there. It was there first time on a roller coaster and they rode all of them except the Voyage (the tallest roller coast there). we already have plans to go back soon and it cannot come fast enough.

Yelp
We hadn't been to Holiday World in years and decided to take our now adult kids with us. Everyone had such a great time. The only bad thing is that the lazy river which was supposed to be one of the cleanest, was filthy.. People had just tossed their cups in it and it was full of trash floating alongside us.. Love that there is free sunscreen and free soft drinks. We enjoyed the wooden coaster and water park. Definitely more to do than can fit into one day!

Yelp
I'm just gonna say it, I LOVE Holiday World! It's seriously up there with Dollywood and Islands of Adventure for my favorite theme park! Holiday World is known as the "thoosie" park and for good reason! This place is awesome! First, we have the coasters. And well, if you're a coaster enthusiast. You know about The Voyage. It is CONSISTENTLY ranked as one of the best roller coasters of all time. It's won many golden ticket awards, it's consistently at the top of a lot of thoosie's rankings, and it's an incredible ride. And honestly, it's my #1 coaster. Yeah, out of the 181 coasters that I've done. Voyage is #1! It's got amazing airtime, it's insanely fast, it's insanely long, the laterals are CRAZY, it never ends, and it provides an S+ tier night ride. It's the f*cking Voyage. The hype is DESERVED!!!! The park also has two other amazing wooden coasters, The Raven and The Legend. The Raven is a super fast ejector airtime machine, and while it has a bad habit of stapling you and it's very short, IT IS GREAT! One of the best wooden coasters that I've ridden! And then there's The Legend. The Legend is pretty much if GhostRider at Knott's took 50 ounces of Crack Cocaine. Yeah, it's got the same crazy airtime and laterals that GhostRider has, but unlike GhostRider which gives you some gentle parts to take a breather. Legend has ZERO gentle parts. It's one of the most intense batsh*t insane coasters ever. In fact, Legend is so good it is JUST OUTSIDE MY TOP 10! Yeah, obviously Voyage is better, but Legend is also incredible. New for 2015 is Thunderbird, the B&M wing coaster. This was the first ever launched B&M wing, and while I'm typically not a huge fan of this model, THUNDERBIRD IS AWESOME. The launch is so punchy and you just fly from element to element. Super intense and fantastic B&M, it's one of the best ones that I've done! Good Gravy! is their newest coaster, and it's got excellent theming and is a great family coaster. Had a lot of fun on it. In terms of flats, they have a few good ones. Their best one being their Larson Flying Scooters. These are awesome since you can snap them and go SUPER high in the air. Very fun ride! There's also liberty launch, which is their S&S Space Shot. Fun ride, much better than the S&S Turbo Drops. They have a shooting dark ride called Gobber's Getaway, and it's... cute. It's got a bit of that fantasyland dark ride charm to it. However, one thing I STRONGLY recommend checking out is their Water Park, Splashin Saffari. It's free to get into (just make sure you don't be an idiot and forget your bathing suit, although the park does sell them if you need one). They also have free sunscreen too! On top of free sodas! Yeah, you heard that right. There's FREE SODAS AND FREE SUNSCREEN. Seriously, thank you Holiday World for that! Back to Splashin Saffari. While it's not the largest park, what they have is GREAT! Their best known for their water slides and water coasters. In fact, they have two of the BEST Waterslides I have ever ridden. First is Mammoth, which is a family raft ride water coaster. However, you get SOAKED TO THE BONE ON THIS RIDE. And on top of that, AIRTIME! YEAH, THERE'S AIRTIME ON THIS RIDE!!! Absolutely fantastic water ride. The other slide I did was Wildebeest, which is also an incredible slide. This is just a speed machine that you just fly through from start to finish, and again, THE AIRTIME IS INSANE. Highly recommend checking out these two slides alone if you're at Splashin Saffari. And thankfully, they both have single rider lines so if the lines are super long, you can still get on rather quickly. They also have another slide called Cheetah Chase, which is a dueling watercoaster. But this was sadly closed when I went so I didn't get to ride it. I also didn't ride any of the other sides, but they all looked fun. So make sure you check out Splashin Saffari when going to Holiday World! Holiday World is just an awesome park. It's probably the most guest-friendly place I've been to. It's very well run, the staff are awesome, it's got an amazing collection of rides and slides, and it's just an awesome place to be. Seriously, free soda, parking AND sunscreen? That's a steal! I loved visiting this place and I cannot wait to visit again in the future!

Yelp
Let me preface this review by saying I am from South Florida and due to the fact that we have so many beaches water parks are far and in between here. Although our theme parks are pretty well known, if you live near them, they loose their novelty. Here comes the city of Santa Claus and by city I mean the actual city is named Santa Claus and in Santa Claus it is Christmas all year round. They literally are decorated with Christmas lights and all, all year round. And in said Santa Claus there is a Holiday World and Splashin Safari. If you know National Lampoon Vacation, you know Walley World and I don't know why this place feels like a Walley World to me. I actually see it with that nostalgic excitement. In Holiday World there is a section named after the most popular holidays with its own theme rides and although they are mostly targeted at a younger audience than myself and my family, I could not help but enjoy the whole idea behind it. They do have a few rollercoasters but we did not have a chance to ride them . The park also includes a water park and said water park is amazing with some of the best water rides. It was exhausting to ride all and even on a busy summer day, it was busy but not so annoyingly busy as the parks here in Florida and was quite enjoyable. If in Indiana, I highly recommend you spend a day here. The most surprising part is that with your $70 admission, you get unlimited drinks all day with the exclusion of alcohol which is served for a cost sporadically throughout the park and unlimited sunscreen. Trust you me, you will need a lot of both.

Yelp
We came to Holiday World and Spashin Safari on a last minute road trip decision. The parking lot is huge with free parking which was a short walk to the front gate. I bought tickets ahead of time and they also offer a nurse discount which was a nice perk. The ride variety was pretty good and there were plenty of small kid rides that my four year old could enjoy. I had a hard time finding some food options other than fried food but I understand we're at a theme park. We went to the water park in the afternoon once it warmed up a bit. The kids enjoyed all the small slides and the wave pool. They even have Dole whip which is a big plus for snack time!

Yelp
I loved it!!! From the free drinks, to the adrenaline rush of the world-class roller coasters, it was a great time!! If you don't like hiking or hills, I would recommend knowing before you go. You also get free soft drinks, parking, and sunscreen with your ticket, which just adds a lot to the park. Seriously, other parks need to take some ideas from Holiday World! The employees were soooo friendly and helpful, and you could clearly tell they cared about their job. The atmosphere was great, and the employees were extremely pumped up for the riders, especially on the Voyage. Would definitely recommend Holiday World to family and thrill seekers alike! Hoping to visit splashing safari in my next visit!

Yelp
First time here. From the Indy area and have a King's Island membership as that was a place I went to a lot as a kid and have so many memories there. We were invited to join friends heading to Holiday World yesterday. The park is the cleanest amusement park I have ever been to. We had a blast and the value is unlike any other. A bit further of a drive for me than KI but it is a place I will be back to. The best points are the cleanliness of the park and the polite employees. We also enjoyed the free soft drinks, sunscreen, and parking. Those are awesome perks/ The coasters are great. The water park is better than I expected it would be and much better than King's Island's Soak City. We went with a group of seven and all enjoyed it. What a great place.

Yelp
Family oriented park. Has perks of free parking, drinks, and sunscreen. The different parts of the park are themed after different holidays which was my favorite part. The thanksgiving food was also my favorite! I would recommend this park to families as they have something for everyone.

Daniel D.

Yelp
I knew this place was 5 stars when I witnessed an amazing life guard blow his whistle and dive into the water to save someone from drowning in the wave pool. It was so inspirational, everyone started clapping... he was a hero! Everyone at the park was happy and the service was so stellar

Yelp
Coming from Chicago, and Six Flags Great America being our home park, we are greatly sad to go back. Holiday World kept giving. As a wannabe rollercoaster enthusiast, here are my main points: My fiancé and I traveled from Chicago for this park, as we hear amazing things from the rollercoaster enthusiast community. Man were they correct. For starters, their drinks being free is amazing. You are able to bring in your own bottle too, we brought our hydro flasks and filled them with water, and whatever else we wanted from their soda machines. This is extremely caring, and this alone shows that they love customer satisfaction. This applies to both their coaster park and their waterpark. Secondly, the cleanliness is like no other park we've been to before. Their bathrooms are kept clean on an hourly basis it seems. Clean floors, clean toilets, clean mirrors, clean walls, soap kept in stock, toilet paper kept in stock, and they're many stalls to accommodate large groups at a time. The park it self has tons of garbage cans that allow you to have access wherever and whenever you need. I tell you, the park had no garbage lying around, no gum on the ground, no food, and no cups (that are free!). It is quite hard to imagine such a clean environment from a rollercoaster park but believe me, we were just as shocked. The food prices were not bad. Our first meal individually costed us both $15.00, which included two fairly large pieces of pizza, with two bosco sticks, and of course the free drink! The next day we spent at the waterpark, we got an 8-piece pizza box that costed $28.99. Fairly large, and their condiments like ranch, and ketchup were free! The prices of their food get a pass considering their customer satisfaction levels are high. The crew at Holiday World are super chill, funny, and very friendly. We've had a few nice conversations with their gift shop employees, and their security employees. But their ride attendants were so funny and friendly. We did some research on how much a drone show costs, mind you, a drone show with 500 operating drones costs a quarter of a million dollars... What does Holiday World do weekly? A 3D ANIMATED DRONE SHOW!? That is free. And it is super cute!! Perfect for the kids and adults too. They play music for the entire show that match up to what the drones are doing. We saw kids dancing and clapping and having so much fun. They advertise their park as "#1 for family fun!" And it is SO TRUE. Not only did we get to experience our first professional drone show, we got to see the famous Brynn Cummings, the semi finals Americas Got Talent Ventriloquist!! For free!! She was amazing, good showmanship for sure. But the fact that this park offers free amazing entertainment, is mind blowing. Holiday World is a perfect, PERFECT example of if taking care of your customers, they'll take care of your business. We are sad to go back to our home park after visiting here. We will be back and that's a fact!! Thank you Holiday World for having some amazing coasters too. The Voyage, Thunderbird, and The Legend are coasters we've been dying to ride and we rode them well over 7 times each! We vlogged our entire experience at this park, I can't wait to come back again.

Yelp
This park is small but a great little Park!! 4 great coasters. Three wooden ans one steel! Plus a handful of flat rides! Love the free soda and the park had some great food!!
google avatar

Yelp
This is the best kept secret in the USA! Forget Disney! HWSS is so affordable, fun, clean and the staff is so friendly! Be sure to stay for at least 2 days so you can fully enjoy both parks! There are rides for every age group! We rented a cabana; it was well worth it as a gathering place, resting place, eating place! The lunch we ordered for our family was delicious! The kids love the free sodas throughout the park! We are so excited to go back!!!!
google avatar

Lona D.

Yelp
The park was a good time. We had children of various ages and there was something for all of them to do. There were plenty places to eat and to sit down while doing so. It's affordable for amusement parks. The free soft drinks is great! I would probably have given 5 stars except that some, not all, of the staff make it clear they would rather be doing anything other than working. I'm sure it's difficult to get enough people to work a seasonal employment but it's just May. I can't imagine how miserable they will be in July or August. I would return though and plan to in the near future.
google avatar

Yelp
This park is so fun and adrenaling(I'm a poor speller) it's Soo much fun so many memories

jackson g.

Yelp
The thunder bird (the best and smoothest rollercoaster in the whole park) was closed for 3 days straight. Would not recommend.

Braden M.

Yelp
My wife and I took our 5 kiddos to Holiday World for the day. When we go again, we'll make sure to go for at least two days. Everyone had such a great time. The park was extremely clean! Plus there's Free Parking, Free Drinks, and Free Sunscreen. There's a ride there for all ages! Our kids are 11-2yrs, and they all want to go back. If you have younger kids that can't ride someone will have to sit back and hang with the little ones. We experienced this, it slowed us up but was still really fun! Pro Tip: Get the photo pass for the day to capture some hilarious moments. My Top Rides: Thunderbird, The Voyage, Cheetah Case, & The Mammoth Have fun and enjoy!

Yelp
For a regional amusement park, Holiday World has a great variety of rides. There are some intense looking coasters for thrill seekers, but we steered clear of them. Our littles prefer milder rides, like the bumper cars and Gobbler Getaway. To be sure, this isn't Universal Studios, but it does the trick. We especially enjoyed the Halloween drone show at night. Very cool! Our biggest beef had to do with the lack of efficiency throughout the park. Lines moved slowly, whether for rides or food, due to poor line management and layout. Overall, Holiday World is worth the price, *if* you can get a hefty discount. We scored 50% off. But it's definitely not worth full price.

Tammy P.

Yelp
I loved the concept of this park but was disappointed in it. Getting on a ride is a free for all with no staff guiding the lines. Snack lines were the same way. I love roller coasters but these were soo rough and jarring. Staff were at best uninvolved and sometimes rude. Water park seemed ok but not worth traveling for.

Christopher R.

Yelp
the place was fun, the rides are cool and the free drinks are nice to have on hot days B) 2 things I don't like is 1: pricing: $30 for a locker the size of a cube is bullcrap, and 45 DOLLARS FOR A 16' PIZZA WITH LIKE 4 BREAD STICKS AND LITTLE SAMPLE SIZE SAUCE CUPS IS VERY BAD AND BS. 2: THE HILLS: the place is SUPER HILLY, not recommended for people out of shape or have heart, or lung problems on a hot day like when I went. and forgot to say, the rolling carts are a last resort to get, they are $55 FOR A DAY. fun for kids, but come on a nice 65~70 degree day so you don't get air fried into a lobster.
google avatar

Claire H.

Yelp
Holiday World is where I was jolted on The Voyage and forced into roller coaster retirement until the end of time but I'll never hold it against them. I'm a born and raised Hooiser but had never been to Holiday World! I had always heard about it so was jazzed to check it out. We went for the first time last year and plan to return for many years to come! What's not to love? The holidays are just so cute and thoughtful! They have Halloween, Christmas, Thanksgiving, and 4th of July. Each with themed rides! From the music to the flowers - they truly make each holiday feel unique and special! They have both rollercoasters and a giant water park! Complimentary soft drinks and sunscreen included in you ticket. You'll make an investment for the day with tickets being about $60 per person but it's well worth it! First responders get a significant discount! Pro tip: eat a thanksgiving meal! They have turkey and all the sides!

Yelp
We visited Holiday World twice in 2023. The first time was Memorial Day and second time was Labor Day. Both times the park was clean, well maintained, and staff was friendly. Free parking, drinks, and sunscreen are nice perks. They allow bags, wagons, and outside food. I highly recommend bringing your own food. At peak meal times, food lines are long and portions are small for the price. There is a gluten free snack shack with a variety of GF options. Lines were not bad in the water park, about 30 minute wait for popular water coasters. The water coasters are awesome and the only ones I've seen (we've been to most US amusement/water parks). On these hot sunny days, the lines in the amusement park were short while the water park was open. The Thunderbird is a fantastic roller coaster, shooting you to 60 mph in seconds. The wooden coasters are huge and well maintained. I really don't have any suggestions for improvement.

Maecy C.

Yelp
Michael needs a raise. I was about to go down the Zoombabwe when I told my friend that I was too scared to go backwards. MY BOY MICHAEL STOPPED OUR RAFT AND TURNED IT AROUND SO THAT I COULD GO FORWARDS. No one has ever been that nice to me. Make Michael crew of the week. Give my boy a raise. I love you Michael. No worker is near your standards.

Yelp
We have been in the parking lot to leave Holiday World for 40 minutes! Absolutely an awful not family friendly experience! Here is the other exit for the parking lot. Which is LOCKED!!! Do better holiday world and fix your parking lot issues! WE ARE STILL WAITING IN THE PARKING LOT!!!! 40+ minutes and counting!

Sandi L.

Yelp
It sounds like a wonderful place. One thing that is unfavorable is that if you make a mistake on ordering tickets for a specific day ahead, they give you NO WAY to correct it online or by phone. They do allow you to fix it at the gate if you bring it on a different day BUT they charge a processing fee at the gate to fix it and you will end up paying extra for your ticket, negating the benefit of ordering your tickets online. Just leaves a bad feeling in your gut. I am sure the park will be fun but I am not sure if I would recommend this park for that reason.
google avatar

Yelp
Holiday World is ideal for families and it's a great one-and-done amusement park. Now I'll cut to the chase and list the good and bad. Good _____________ Amazing Holiday World employees, always smiling Fun roller coasters Great food Plenty of space to explore Great merchandise Bad _____________ Nonchalant Splashin' Safari employees, sometimes distracted Only 5 coasters (at time of review), 3 Wooden, 1 Wing, 1 Boomerang
google avatar

Yelp
I grew up coming to Holiday World and it's a true testament to Hoosier Hospitality. Yes ,the park is kind of in the middle of nowhere but it works. They have free parking when you get there, free soft drinks and free sunscreen! All the staff were so friendly. We came with our church youth group this visit and we had somehow left our tickets behind but they allowed us to fill out a waiver and then we get to send in our tickets by mail. I saw plenty of staff cleaning throughout the day and they always had a smile on their face. The park is laid out in holiday sections: Halloween, Christmas, Fourth of July and Thanksgiving. Then splashin safari is to the back of the park. You can cover some serious walking ground throughout the day. The food is a little higher price than restaurants but it is tasty and fast. We ate at Jungle Jakes in splashin safari and were surprised by the quality and the vegetarian options. Overall this is a place that I will keep returning to year after year.

Shonda C.

Yelp
With the invitation of my sister, I travelled two hours to visit this park. Pros: parking and soft drinks were free. Cons: wait time for popular attractions and the need to maintenance them. The maintenance added 30 more minutes to allotted wait time. Also, some patrons opted to skip the line and enter through the exit and were able to cut ahead of others. I was able to complete four events before it began to rain around 7pm. Subsequently, the park was closed shortly thereafter.

Yelp
First time here, didn't know what to expect. I know they call it a wooden rollercoaster , you can see wood on the sides of the loading and unloading area, someone said to me that it wasn't really scary at all. I said OK ! I'll try it my first time here and first ride ever. /-- /---/ I'm glad I made it off Alive ! I'm glad I tried it off of a lie !!!! But I will never try it again ! Super fun! But not for me anymore.
google avatar

Kelly S.

Yelp
I grew up going to Holiday World and it remains one of my all time favorite theme parks! There are four top notch roller coasters, including a newer steel coaster called the Thunderbird which was a fabulous ride. The Voyage remains the best wooden coaster I have ever ridden. A huge plus when visiting Holiday World, they have free unlimited soft drinks with lots of Pepsi products to choose from, including some of the specialty flavors. Look for the Oasis stations throughout the park. Splashin' Safari is the best waterpark around. You get two parks for the price of one and in the water park they even have water coasters. Wait times might be a little longer due to the popularity of the water rides, but not only does the park have free soft drinks but they also have free sunscreen! This park truly has something for everyone and you'll love taking the family there or going with friends. Even the smaller rides are lots of fun.

Bailey S.

Yelp
I've been going to Holiday World for as long as I can remember, and it's a true Indiana gem. They put the theme in theme park. Free drinks on a hot day is honestly an experience-making offer. The Mammoth Water Coaster was the highlight ride of the day.

Yelp
Let me tell you, Holiday World is a whole vibe. For some reason we thought we could conquer the whole park in one day, ha! It has 4 holiday parts: Christmas, 4th of July, Halloween and Thanksgiving. On top of that, it has an entire water park full of rides. It has some really cool perks I haven't seen elsewhere as well: free sunscreen and assorted soft drinks all day every day. The park was also really well maintained. Us three managed 3 rides, the wave pool and 2 kiddie pools and we were exhausted. The Mammoth ride (water raft coaster) was by far the favorite and coolest water park ride we've ever done. We enjoyed our day! I recommend it if you find yourself in Indiana. Go with the Greenleafs

Yelp
Would give more star rating but half of the rides were closed. The raven was closed but was able to ride it around 7:30 pm. The wave pool was closed 3 days in a row. The lazy river was filled with just floating tubes with no one in them and it was really annoying having the kids just run in the wave pool running into you. The mammoth was closed all day. The wildebeest was closed then opened again. Waited about 1 and a half hours to ride. Had to address people that cut us in line but due to my boyfriend being a football player for the NFL he got them all back of the line lol. Over priced drinks. Over priced food but typical for an amusement park. They have to make money. Can't take pictures of your own picture being taken on the rides but I did it anyways lol. Overall fun but just be cautious of the people who jump lines and the price you pay. Good gravy ride was smooth and fun but you have to have a ticket to get on the ride and wait about 30 min to get on and about an hour to wait in line.

Yelp
Free parking- Free fountain drinks (including water) w/cups- Free sunscreen (Australian Gold)- Attentive staff- Holiday themed rides, games & eateries- The attraction selections are plenty but mind the height restrictions & line waiting. We waited in line twice for the Watubee the second time was longer than the first time. ( approximately 30 mins or more) when waiting with children makes it seems longer for 2 mins of a slide. Most of the rides kiddo would have liked to ride were closed the day we went. There were long lines at some of the popular attractions & but others weren't long at all that we were able to just walk on them multiple times. The park was overall fairly clean, well stocked & some staff were friendly & helpful. Be expected to go a lot of walking & if you plans ahead & map our which attractions you want to visit, it makes it easier to know where you're going. Holiday world website has plenty of helpful tip & info as well, like they are completely cashless, all vendors & games, etc are 100% cashless. They do have machines/atm to convert your cash into card on site. A couple things we did notice is that not all bathrooms are touchless most are have the outdated sinks & hand dryer but they function fine. Also, they have a lot of staff focused on safety & sanitation, there were some vendors that were one maned & tend to get backed up. Once again not a negative just be aware that it's possible for a wait in service at certain locations. But come to find out there was power outages during the day, so holiday world is letting us come back! Which is awesome!

Yelp
My mom won tickets to Holiday World and gifted them to my family (the theme park has been generous each year with giveaways). It was easily to redeem our passes online, picking our date of choice and printing off tickets. My review is based on a Saturday visit and for the theme park only. My husband and I brought our two sons, ages 15 and 10 years. We came from Louisville, approx. 1.5 hr drive. Signage to Holiday World is well marked. Parking is free and we appreciated the staff flagging visitors into the park. But, once getting out of the car it was a cluster. Random long lines for visitors to get inside with no appearance of a Holiday World team member to direct people. It took close to an hour to get inside. No coverage from the weather elements and an exhausting way to begin our visit. While their website has a map, I eventually grabbed a paper map because my WiFi was so weak. It was nice to have it to scan while waiting in lines. Holiday World is outdated in the sense that you have zero idea what type of wait you're facing when getting in line. Some rides felt reasonable for a busy Saturday while the roller coasters were brutal, almost 1-2 hrs each. They also don't offer a lot of shade coverage and the queues are really, really up close and personal. That was disappointing especially with Covid being a consideration. They had an opportunity to block off every other line to give visitors some spacing. What Holiday World has going for them at the theme park are the roller coasters. We missed The Voyage because of lack of time but The Legend was AMAZING. The Raven was as well, a shorter version of The Legend. My husband and teen got to ride Thunderbird in the dark and said it increased the excitement. Other rides were nice but mediocre and longer wait times decreased the thrill of riding them. Food is another area Holiday World needs to step up their game. It's average, sometimes below that. More long lines to face when all you want to do it sit down and rest. The best deal was the soft serve ice cream in a waffle cone. Our meal in Christmas was hit or miss - a lot of cold, soggy items. We felt disappointed again with the not-so-hot pretzel cart. The park needs to improve here and offer online ordering with a pick up window. That would be a win for their staff and customers. The park offers a few shows. We passed them while walking to rides but weren't inspired to stop. They felt similar to a high school show. The diving show would've been cool but seats are completely exposed to the sun. If you decide to include these in your day, the park at least offers clear times of the show's start with signage. My youngest loved the day, and any family day is one to cherish. Overall an average day and easy for us to make from Louisville, but Holiday World wouldn't be a spot I could recommend to people traveling longer distances. It needs to up its game in several areas to create a better customer experience. They seemed to have stop innovating after free drinks and sunscreen.

Yelp
Definitely a fun amusement park in the middle of nowhere. If you're looking for some adventure and fun waterslides, this is the place to go. They had lots of cool water rides that I've never seen anywhere else. Cheap food and the games are not rigged like carnivals. Worth checking off the bucket list. If you can afford it, book a cabana. And if you need to lodge, you can always stay an hour away in Louisville, but if you want to get a cabin close to the amusement park, you would have to book it a few weeks or a month in advance because they sell out quick.

Yelp
Holiday world truly is a great, fun and innovative theme park that brings the holiday joy even during hot summer days. I've only been 2-3 times in my life (not enough). Big every time we go it's a lot of fun. Fun coasters, fun water slides, and plenty of stuff to do for the tiny toddlers who are normally too short to ride theme park rides. I had every intention of going back with my family of 6 in summer of 2020 but the pandemic derailed those plans. Hoping things get back to normal so we can make a return trip very soon. My oldest two daughters still talk about this experience and it has been awhile since we've been. So they are chomping at the bit to get back.

Yelp
A place for family fun! One of the things I liked is the free Pepsi and sun screen. As I rode on the rented scooter, which was priced fairly, I was able to watch a lot that went on. One of the things I wish they did differently is to understand that many come from the eastern time zone. It would be nice to see more of the food kiosks open earlier. That is more only criticism, and it isn't that much of a big deal. Everything else proved why this is a good and considering other parts a good money deal for family trip.

Yelp
OMG... RUDE!! A little info: I am fully deaf and cannot hear without my hearing devices. This happened approximately 1:30-1:45pm on May 18th 2024 ANYWAY! We were waiting on the Cheetah Chase for about an hour. And the lifeguards had to shout down the ride due to the water pressure. The Manager that worked today (May 18th) gave us a slip. She was talking to me about the information about the slip and I told her that I could not hear her. Over and over.. after she gave us the slip, my friends said that she called me a "the deaf kid" DO BETTER

Yelp
Amazing experience. Prices may seem a bit high but parking is free, sodas throughout the park are free, even sunscreen dispensers are located throughout the park - also free. Lots of rides and very good ones. You must ride Thunderbird- it's the absolute best coaster I've been on. Tremendous drone and fireworks show with live DJ preceding the show. We all had an absolute blast here.

Yelp
This review is based on our 2019 visit to the park. I wanted to ride their new Thunderbird Steel Roller Coaster. I used to belong to a roller coaster club when I lived in Columbus Ohio. When I lived there for five years I was able to ride everything at Cedar Point and King's Island many times via multiple park visits. Which reminds me, do not ride The Raptor (at Cedar Point) three times in a row when there is no waiting; it will make you dizzy eventually. As a club member we were offered exclusive ride times when the Holiday World park was closed to the public. I also got to ride The Legend's Inaugural Ride before it opened to the public during a club event. So I was already familiar with the high quality of Holiday World's coasters and when I finally learned of the Thunderbird's opening I had to be there. The Thunderbird has no lift hill like most coasters need to launch your ride using gravity. This one launches you horizontally via electro magnetic propulsion. It is the same concept used to catapult aircraft off the flight deck of the new Ford class of U.S. Navy aircraft carriers. Without giving you any spoilers, I will warn you that this ride is much more intense than your average roller coaster. Would I be able to get back in line right away and ride it again? No, not at my age, but for younger folks it's probably not a health issue. But the two grandchildren were not interested in going again with me later in the day. They come for the water parks mostly. This park is not on flat ground. There are some hills to climb but mostly confined to the back and front areas. The center of the park, where the majority of the water rides and pools are, is relatively flat. You can easily spend an entire day here, stay after the dinner hour and maybe not ride everything you want to. I started coming here when it was called Santa Claus Land and all I could remember was the train. It has come a LONG way since then and continues to impress me. How can you go wrong, with free parking, free soda, free sun screen and free Wi-Fi? All I wish for is that they opened earlier.

Yelp
It's not as big as Silver Dollar City or Dollywood, but they're certainly giving Herschend competition for family friendly entertainment. What it lacks in size it makes up for in value. Yeah, you're going to pay extra for the convenience of eating in the park. It's still a theme park and they have overhead. You're not going to pay for parking or soft drinks, so it doesn't sting as much. They should offer a dining plan, though. Locker rentals are a bit steep, but they're all day with unlimited in and out privileges. If you need one, get one early, they do fill up fast. You really don't need one unless you're visiting Splashin' Safari. There are places to park your stuff at the loading area for each ride in Holiday World. The free sunscreen is more of a convenience thing. One less thing to have to bring and lug around. Not a lot of Thrill Rides, but what they have is decent. Splashin' Safari is no competition to Schliterbahn in terms of size, but if you're talking quality of water park thrill rides it's a different matter entirely (Cheetah Chase). On the dry side, whatever they did to The Voyage recently made that a much more enjoyable ride. They really need their own hotel / resort. The nearby options just don't do it for me.

Yelp
Visited this weekend, and had an awesome time. As the commercials sell, the free soft drinks and parking were very nice. We did not take advantage of the free sunscreen but that is also a cool benefit they offer. We got there pretty early in the day, and were able to park fairly close and walk in without a wait. We immediately went back to the thunderbird to knock out the rides further from the entrance hoping for shorter lines. Overall, the roller coaster wait times weren't too bad. About 30 minutes or so each. Halfway through day, we headed to water park. The water park is super cool, but it was just a little too crowded for us. The lines for each ride were over an hour, which was a little excessive for a couple minute long ride. Their workers were nice and kept things moving, so I know it wasn't really their fault but that was my only detriment. We got multiple items from concessions and everything was decent. We got the digital picture pass and it was easy. Not sure it was worth the price tag, since not all rides had the pictures, but some of pictures were funny. Overall, we had a good day and I could see us coming back sometime, but maybe during week when it is less crowded

Exceptional park filled with fun rides and a awesome waterpark. Free drinks located in park to keep you hydrated Free sunscreen to keep the burn away. Free parking. Free hugs from Santa. This park is a perfect size, extra clean and the young staff are friendly. Love, love, love the rides in the waterpark. Visit the park and you can even have a tasty Thanksgiving dinner. Yes, it is tasty! GREAT SUMMER FUN!!

Yelp
It was a pretty good day except for the lines, I think I stayed in lines the majority of the day. The rides were good and everything was fine but then I wanted ice cream. Oh and for some reason you have to buy a card just for the park instead of just paying with cash for credit, any ways I wanted ice cream and I put 40 us dollars on the card, I spent about 30 US dollars on pretzels. I went up to the ice cream and my card had zero US dollars on it. I was realll angry. I couldn't get it. Then I got lost which wasn't there fault but I still was mad. So that just goes to show that they are stupid for using that stupid card thing. It just wastes peoples time and does even work right

Yelp
I bought an all day photo pass just to have my picture deleted so if you get the all day photo pass, just don't waste your money on it cause it'll probably just get deleted anyway after waiting an hour plus in line...

Yelp
Rides were awesome. One was shut down for 10 minutes due to somebody getting stuck. Lines were hit or miss. Some were 1 hour somewhere no line at all. The raven was very bumpy and jerky but still fun.

Yelp
10/10 recommendation, the only thing I regret is spending 70$of my own money at the gift shop for mh self.
