I experimented with flying into here instead is LAX and what a pleasure it was! The airport itself looks like something from the 70’s but who cares if you can get in and out so quickly because it’s so small. They don’t even have jet bridges!! Loved it and will do it again.

This is a fabulous little airport, what a treat to fly into instead of LAX. I love the fact that there is a pedestrian walkway to Hollywood Way. I actually walked from the airport to my hotel, which felt great after sitting on a plane all day. A hidden gem!

We have flown out of Burbank Airport many times. We much prefer this one to LAX. The drop off/ pick up area is busy but not crazy busy like LAX. Going through security is fine. Today, the line wasn’t too long. They have plenty of spots for food/drink, souvenirs and bathrooms. I’m at Gate A2 and there were a group of employees loudly talking and laughing for about 10 minutes.

I hadn’t flew through the Burbank airport in a minimum of 10 years or so. The last experience I had wasn’t a good one, with the tarmac being short & the pilot having trouble landing. And the gentleman sitting next to me at the time had told me a story about how a few years back one of the planes flew through the roof of a nearby GAS STATION out of all places, because the tarmac was too short for a successful landing. So, after hearing that story, I told myself never EVER again! But, so many years had passed and I found a good deal on a last minute flight so I thought I’d give the airport another chance. Anyhow, I’m most definitely glad that I did because I must admit that I had one of the absolute best flight experiences I’ve had in quite a while (and I fly a lot!). The service was absolutely outstanding, the flight was perfection, and I was extremely comfortable during the entirety of the flight. I was honesty really unexpectedly impressed and happy I gave this airport a second chance (even if it was an entire decade later!) Highly recommend.

Google
It's a older airport, but in great shape. Everyone there is very friendly and helpful. Lots of history. This was my 1st experience at Burbank Airport and I definitely would fly in and out of it again.

Google
Look, for ease of getting in and out of the actual flights and getting luggage, you cannot beat Burbank airport in the LA area. I am actually a little sad that they are trying to increase it to a bigger airport--it is perfect the way it is. Parking and transportation in and out can be hard on busy weekends, however, so plan accordingly.

Google
This small airport efficiently serves travelers. It's well-maintained and clean, and the helpful police officers are notably kind. My thanks to them. While Alaska Airlines provides an excellent in-flight experience with a great plane and crew, my airport experience with their staff was unfortunately very poor. They didn't allow sufficient time for passenger processing before boarding, causing me to lose several bottles of fine wine—a disappointing end to an otherwise wonderful trip to Napa Valley and Calistoga. Napa Valley, Calistoga, and Alaska Airlines' in-flight service remain highly recommended.

As I flew back from my family vacation, I wanted to try flying out of Burbank Airport for the first time, getting dropped off at the airport was a complete nightmare late morning. This airport is in desperate need of upgrades and brought into modern times with more seats at gates, seat outlets and a PA system you can hear.

"Come fly with me, come fly, come fly away!" Yes, please and thank you! I don't mind if I do! That is how I feel about Hollywood Burbank Airport my friends! It's easy to take off here as it is to land! A stress free experience from start to finish! ~ Te-see's Personal Highlights: *It's only 12 mins from my house *Security is a breeze with a TSA Pre Approved Pass *They now have a Starbucks inside *Wait time for luggage at baggage claim is quick!

Yelp
I was at Burbank Airport for 45 minutes and I was ready to go. Not my type of airport. But it was the only place for my connecting flight on the cheap. Arrrrggg... There's no boarding ramp. Everyone walks out on the stairs of portable ramps. I don't know what will happen when it rains. I made a mistake of boarding from the back of the plane. First of all, that was stairs. My luggage wasn't that heavy. So I was ok except deplaning at a major airport. Oh man. I waited till everyone left. Because I sat far in the back. My return trip is not Burbank. Not sure if Ontario has the same features. I already stroked it out on my future flight plannings.

Yelp
Burbank Hollywood Airport may not be the most beautiful, luxurious, or even the cleanest airport, but what it lacks in aesthetics, it more than makes up for in efficiency and convenience. Unlike larger airports like LAX, which can feel overwhelming and chaotic, Burbank offers a straightforward and hassle-free experience that truly sets it apart. This small airport is incredibly easy to navigate, making it a favorite for travelers who prioritize speed and simplicity. From the moment you arrive, everything moves quickly and efficiently, whether it's check-in, security, or boarding. There are no endless terminals to trek through or long waits to endure. You'll often find yourself through security and at your gate in a matter of minutes. The airport's compact size and straightforward layout mean there's no need for complicated logistics or added stress. For anyone who has dealt with the notorious traffic and delays at LAX, the simplicity of Burbank is a breath of fresh air. It's a no-frills airport that focuses on getting you in and out with minimal hassle, and that's what makes it so appealing. While it may not offer luxury lounges or pristine facilities, the trade-off for a smoother, faster travel experience is well worth it. If you're looking for an airport that values your time and doesn't complicate your journey, Burbank Hollywood Airport is the perfect choice.

Yelp
One of my favorite airports. This is one of the more convenient airports to travel out when traveling. Easy access in and out as well as more convenient than traveling out of LAX. The staff is great and always helpful.

Yelp
This is perhaps the best airport in LA! Easy, painless, and efficient! It's easy to find your airline, and everyone here is very nice...great customer service at the airline desk Alaska Airlines). The TSA were also very good, professional and friendly! Follow their instructions and you won't have any problems...very simple!

Yelp
I lcannot stress how much I LOVE Burbank's airport. It is SO SO SOO easy to drive in and take a quick flight to a nearby state or city. Parking is so easy. Driving to pick up a friend is a breeze. I don't mind paying a little bit more to fly out of here because it's less chaotic and everyone is much friendlier. The airport is pretty bare so if you're hungry or want to do some light shopping, this may not be for you. Overall, excellent experience every time.
google avatar

Mark P.

Yelp
It's a small airport, after all. Kind of reminds me of a middle school in both look, and vibe with the dropoff crossing guards blowing whistles. Overall much less stressful experience than going anywhere near LAX. Prices are higher but the process is much smoother.

Yelp
Hollywood Burbank Airport (BUR) is a smaller, mid-size airport located north of Los Angeles, and it offers a much less congested alternative to LAX. One of the best things about BUR is how easy it is to get in and out. Compared to LAX, it's much more manageable, and I'd recommend opting for a drive-through drop-off or pick-up instead of parking, since the parking structures, like at most airports, are quite costly. Since it's a smaller airport, flights tend to be a bit more expensive than from larger airports, but the process is generally more efficient. Getting through TSA was smooth--there were short lines, and the staff was fairly friendly, making it a breeze. However, my experience took a bit of a downturn when I came on a day with morning fog. Even though the fog dissipated quickly, all flights were delayed, and the airport became packed. It got so crowded that finding a seat at any gate was difficult. My flight was delayed twice, then canceled, rebooked, and delayed again. So, while the airport is typically efficient, weather conditions can still cause significant delays. As for food, it's on the pricier side. Expect to pay $20-$25 for a pre-packaged sandwich or wrap, which I found a bit steep for what you get. I didn't see price tags on the bottled waters, but based on the food prices, they were likely expensive too. Luckily, I found a hidden water fountain that I could fill up for free. Overall, Burbank Airport is a convenient option if you're looking to avoid the hassle of LAX, but be prepared for high prices on food and drinks and occasional delays due to weather.

Yelp
Old school since 1930. This airport is our number one choice when flying domestic because LAX can be a nightmare due to traffic. We have TSA pre-check and it really is not necessary here because the regular security lines are not that long with all the times I've been here.
google avatar

Carly M.

Yelp
I've flown twice from Phoenix to Burbank airport. Once for the Dodgers post season game and recently for the Rose bowl game. Both times our flights were diverted due to low fog. It was stressful to say the least. I'm giving the airport 3 stars in hopes that those that might think they could cut an event close and fly in the same day could be faced with fog delays. Both flights were early morning. Having said that we loved that the airport was small. We boarded and deplaned using both the front and back of the plane. This made boarding fast and efficient. The rental car offices were located across the street. Very convenient and not crowded airport but due to the fog delays I would not recommend it for those flying in or out in the early morning.

Yelp
When my wife and I moved to LA from NYC for her job, I often question why we chose the Valley--especially during those 115-degree summers. But one undeniable perk has been Burbank Airport. Its convenience makes traveling to nearby cities like Seattle and Las Vegas an absolute breeze. It's not the most glamorous or spotless airport, but after experiencing the nightmare that is LAX--truly hell on earth--Burbank feels like a functional oasis. Short lines, easy access, and zero nonsense make it the only airport in LA that doesn't drain my will to live.

Yelp
If you're looking for a stress-free flying experience in Los Angeles, Burbank Airport is the perfect choice. One of my least favorite things about LA is the travel. Burbank simplifies everything with a very straight forward airport. There's no bells and whistles. While there's a few dining spots onite, I've never actually seen them open to customers. Because of how small it is, the arrival process is incredibly easy. You can literally get your gate in under 10 minutes. This airport has never seen a line. While parking isn't the best, there's direct access to Metrolink and Amtrak. It's also very easy to get an Uber from this airport. Overall, this airport has everything you need for a quick and safe trip.

Yelp
When traveling from the Bay Area to the L.A. area, I prefer Burbank or some of the smaller regional airports compared to L.A.X. In my experience they've had a good on-time record and get the job done. Most recently I was flying to Burbank on Southwest Airlines and transfering to Houston Hobby. Because the planes can de-plane or load passengers from the front and back of the plane makes that experience quicker and less cramped. With the smaller airport, you don't have to walk for days to get anywhere within or between temrinals. Good job Burbank!

Yelp
After visiting BUR for a domestic flight, I have to admit... if this is local and efficient, definitely choose this over LAX! Used to planning around traffic? Budget 1-2 hours to get in with TSA? Nope, not here... Busing here was easily done in an hour, and the walk from the station to check-in took about 5-10 minutes. What's after? Well, TSA took a literal 2 minutes! Imagine having two hours to wait around... couldn't be me! Some cons of his airport is that it is a tad small, so food options are fairly limited (and unsurprisingly overpriced). They have one restaurant Guy Frierie, which was a very underwhelming experience. This is definitely one of those airports that are an "in and out" kind, not the most enjoyable wait but very efficient. As an added bonus, we boarded the plane from the ground up, so if it's your first time, it's quite an exciting experience that you wouldn't likely get at LAX.

Yelp
Like a flame, love consumes us, leaving only warmth and light. That is how I feel coming and leaving from this airport. Like a hug from someone calming and familiar and safe. It gives me a sense of hope until I leave and arrive to the hell that is wherever airport I am going to next.

Yelp
My brother lives in Glendale and I in St. Louis. A direct flight means convenience and landing in a SUPER convenient airport. It's busy, and traffic getting in can be a bear but the convenience outweighs any inconvenience. Plan for a back of plane deboarding and with not a lot of gates baggage claim is quick. I look for a pickup from family at the end near Alaska airlines and that is also where Uber pickup is as well. A cat walk takes you to car rental for a bit of a walk but no shuttle needed. If you have a bit of time before a pickup you can walk out of the property (ONLY) through the main entrance and grab a drink at the bordering Starbucks. Hot tip. Enjoy.

Yelp
If I recall correctly, the last time that I had flown out of this airport was for a ski trip during my college days, long before 9/11/01. I had an early morning flight and parked my car over in the economy lot C across the street. Getting through TSA screening was much less stressful compared to LAX. The airport still had an old fashion vibe to it. You board the plane from the tarmac and you can also use the rear door of the airplane to help speed up the process.

Yelp
GIVE YOURSELF PLENTY OF TIME!!!! i tried this airport for a change since the drive to LAX from my usual work locations in Brentwood, Los Feliz, and Pasadena can take ages on a Friday afternoon and I run the risk of missing a flight. So I booked through Burbank instead, thinking I could just drive up, drop off my car, and get to my gate within 30-45 minutes. Nope. For some reason, traffic once at the airport entry simply STOPPED about 1/4 mile from the road to the Car Rental Return. I sat in traffic for nearly 30 minutes, moving inch by inch closer, running out of time. There should definitely be a separate line for Can Rental Return, and I believe there is supposed to be, but no one follows that rule and everyone just smooshed in trying to drop off folks, or pick up folks, and it was a massive mess. I finally got into the line to return my car and raced as fast as I could from that area to the Security. The Car Rental area is technically "on site" but is a HIKE!! The moving walk-ways were down, being repaired, so I literally RAN the distance which is like 1/3 to 1/2 mile towards Security. The line for Terminal 2 TSA pre-check snaked around and down the hall, eeek! Took forever to get through. I made it to my gate with 90 second to spare. The gate agent was shutting the door! Too late to carry-on my bag so I had to stay behind and have someone check it for me, then she finally let me onto the tarmack so I could run to climb the ramp up to the plane. I will give this place 3 stars as I was able to arrive and depart safely and my bag was checked correctly to Chicago. I would not fly out of here again though. The traffic to get in and the race from Car Rental were too much. I will take my chances at LAX.

Yelp
Shhhh this is LA's secret airport. For domestic flights, Burbank is your best friend flying into and out of Los Angeles. You can pay for overnight parking - about $25/night. You can reserve it and get more info on their website. The Uber/Lyft is easy. It's not cheap overall but still cheaper than LAX. No train that I know of (LAX has shuttles to Union Station). There are only two terminals here, and security is fast even if you don't have TSA pre-check. Bathrooms and gate seating areas are clean. There are shops and restaurants, just not too many options.
google avatar

Stephanie S.

Yelp
Wow for such a busy airport they have little to no food options for a sit down meal. Especially with all the delays these days with the airlines! The car rental terminal is a bit of an inconvenient walk when you are in a hurry. You have to lug your bags on a 15 minute walk to their "new" car rental building. No shuttle, no nothing. This airport needs some restructuring and remodeling to bring it up to this decade. Its a bit better than LAX and quite a bit smaller but the cluster of an airport is really sad for this day and age! I was traveling for my Aunts funeral and missed the whole first night service for her wake and such because the car rental place was actually out of cars, mind you I had pre paid and booked two weeks prior! That's a whole nother review!!
google avatar

Yelp
Hollywood Burbank Airport or Bob Hope is the best airport. When I fly I try to fly out of Burbank as much as humanly possible, I try to avoid LAX whenever I am able to. Burbank is so easy to get into and out of, checking in is a breeze and even faster with apps and the self check in kiosks. Security is normally just as fast, rarely have I hit many lines and if there are any, they move you through fast. Parking if you need to park is not terribly expensive either, but normally I will get dropped off or Uber these days. They have plenty of food options for a small airport, check out Diane Mina's or one of Guy Fieri's spots. I had some of the best tacos and quinoa from Diane Mina's. You can sub the Mexican rice with Mexican quinoa, never tried it, but it was really, really good. Check them out. Of course more expensive airport prices, but at least it is really good and the give big portions. Next time you're flying in or out, fly Burbank and you will be so happy you did. Also, Southwest's Hub if you love Southwest. Enjoy!
google avatar

Charles F.

Yelp
Yikes. If you like to time travel back to 1980s, this airport is for you. All that's missing are smoking lounges, X-Ray machines at the gate, religious representatives and hippies asking for donations, and elevator music. There are no jet-ways. Make sure you grab your luggage and bags by their handles and be careful walking in the steps or the ramps. Food choices are Guy Fieri x 4. He's a got a bar, a sandwich kiosk, and a burger place. Sure there's Diane Mina's but that's it. Hopefully your time traveling layover is not long or you may want to call Doc and Marty and take you back to the future.
google avatar

Erik H.

Yelp
It is more expensive and there are less flights in and out, but the "Bob Hope" airport really brings me back to a time when life was simpler. If you are flying into the "Valley" or Northern LA, this is the airport for you. How simple? I can order an Uber as soon as I stand up in the plane and meet it curbside within 5 minutes! Bags are left outside for you to pick up as you walk into the terminal off the plane on the ground.
google avatar

Dallas A.

Yelp
It's old, it's not luxurious, but it's also not LAX -- the security lines are short, so there aren't many gates, so it's easy to get in and out of. Don't expect nice bathrooms or chargers on the chairs near the gates, though.
google avatar

Steff A.

Yelp
Burbank Airport is a much better option to fly in/out of vs LAX IF you have it.. Airport amenities: Overall the airport is significantly smaller than LAX with fewer gates/routes. Terminal A: 8 gates Terminal B: 5 gates With that: Much less traffic around the airport area, TSA lines are minimal to non-existent, walk to the gate is such a short distance and the baggage claim area is centralized outside right by the pick up area. The food and bar options are decent for a baby airport. They've changed throughout my years of visits but I always find it easy to get a cocktail/beer along with a decent entrée while watching TV there. I never had an issue finding a table. I'm usually in the Hollywood/Downtown area which is much easier to access via Burbank airport vs LAX which makes this my airport of choice when I visit the LA friends. Cheers and safe travels!
google avatar

Meya B.

Yelp
Way better than LAX especially flying domestically. Usually the people working here are actually kind of nice so it's honestly never stressful at Burbank. It's only 4 stars because it's such a small airport when it's busy it can be overwhelming. I try to fly Burbank whenever I can.
google avatar

Kislev A.

Yelp
So much more traffic now compared to before. The luggage takes a long time to get to the carousel so it takes many drive-around-the-airport before we can pick up our passengers. Would be nice if there was a dedicated lot to pull over and wait for our passengers' call.
google avatar

Emily H.

Yelp
I have come to appreciate small airports, and the Burbank airport is a prime reason why. It took me all of 10 minutes to check my bag, go through security (TSA PreCheck) and find my gate. The TSA agents and gate clerks also seemed friendly. There were a couple of stores along the way, so if I needed to, I could have grabbed a magazine or snacks. And you have to walk out onto the tarmac to board a plane, which felt kind of quaint. The ease of the Burbank airport beats the stress of LAX any day.
google avatar

Wayne G.

Yelp
Burbank Airport is a savior for me. Its local, convenient, less congested (except during holidays), and just easy to get through TSA. There are only two terminals so its very difficult to get lost. As just mentioned, TSA is a breeze. Since the airport is small there isn't too much to do while waiting for your flight. Like other airports they do have a convenience shop and a place to eat before your flight. One thing I do like the most flying out/in from BUR is the option to board/exit the back of the plane. This helps get things going a lot faster. My only negative comment would be the airfare is a lil more than other airports since there aren't many flights going in and out, say compared to LAX. But then the price is right, its time to go some where! Parking: paid structures, overflow parking lots w shuttle VERDICT: Rinse and repeat
google avatar

Danielle F.

Yelp
Super small airport which makes it easy and convenient to get to your flight without needing to worry about getting there 2-3 hours early. I got here an hour before my boarding time & made it through ESA Precheck within a minute or two. Even the regular line was fast and didn't have a lot of people. The airport is clean and updated bathrooms. 4/5 cause there is little to no parking options because the A, B & C lots get full all the time, even if you're flying during the week at a random time of year.... Forces you to pay for valet parking ($35 a day). I personally don't care about parking fees cause I really only fly when on work travels and it gets covered BUT I'm from the east coast & just moved out here & lol don't like that I'd have to be paying that much money to leave my car at an airport... the valet parking doesn't even come with a free car wash you have to pay another 35+ pending the car wash option.
google avatar

Roger Y.

Yelp
The old control tower is still in use like at the Long Beach Airport. But unlike LGB, BUR is just old and tired without the charm. Traffic moving through this small airport is surprisingly slow. Rental car return is at the very end of the drive passing by the terminals where traffic is especially slow. The terminals have dim lights and crowded seating. Unless this airport would save you substantially from the LA traffic gridlock, there are several other more comfortable airports to consider.
google avatar

Crystal K.

Yelp
This airport was extremely dirty and crowded. The bathrooms were dirty the entire 7 hours I was here. Trash was everywhere and the airport smelled bad. One burger or sandwich is at least $20. On top of that, spirit airlines kept delaying our flights and then cancelled it altogether. What a nightmare and waste of time.
google avatar

Alizen R.

Yelp
This place is insane. Like, you come here because you think you'll catch a break from LAX but it's so small, congested, and poorly run that it just seems inconvenient. There is only ONE passenger loading and unloading lane and it becomes extremely packed. On a Wednesday afternoon at 4:45pm, it took nearly 15 minutes just to get to the unloading zone. I cannot imagine what it would be like if it was busier. The WiFi is a JOKE. You have AT&T WiFi and NBC 4 wifi but neither of them will actually connect. It's so bad that they actually have a second WiFi name called NBC WIFI HELP. I called that number. To save you the hassle, log into the OSSI online wifi and use the code "812 723 81" to connect. I had no issues after that. (47/100--2023)

Yelp
Quality/Quantity - Small airport, if you are from the Bay Area, this airport is similar to Oakland (OAK) rather than San Francisco (SFO). LAX is similar to SFO. I prefer the smaller airports, and I only fly out of the major ones if I can not get a direct flight from the smaller ones. Smaller airports are typically so much smoother; less people, less stressed people. Easy rideshare drop off here, easy Southwest check in, easy TSA security screening. The entire process went so smooth and fast that I did not even time it as I normally do in larger airports, see other Yelp reviews. Atmosphere - See above and pictures. Small airport - Two terminals, 14 gates. I guess a main drawback is that if it is raining, you would have to walk on the tarmac. But a positive of that is that you can board the plane from the front and back, doubling the loading time. Free wifi, I did not use it. Decent selection of food options (for an airport), see pictures. Valet and self parking, see picture. I did rideshare as I will not be back for a few months. Military operations also use this airport. Service - Good, easy, and smooth. Price - We flew Southwest, a good value. Owner Comment - Congrats on your 93 years of success.

Yelp
Pint size airport clean has a handful of places to eat 2 coffee places Jones coffee. The only place you pay $22 for a breakfast burrito . Easy check in compare to Ontario. light traffic compared to LAX. Leave your car here for $24 a day in the parking lot or $34 for the structure which is across from the terminal. People are always walking around cleaning one story plane is right outside

Yelp
What a quaint airport! Definitely an older airport that could use a little renovating, but overall it does have some great modern eateries to dine at before your flight. This is the airport I would book if going to Universal Studios, and was fairly easy to fly in and out of.
google avatar

Jo W.

Yelp
Small yet convenient airport! Burbank is definitely one of my preferred airports to fly into in SoCal, especially if I'm just visiting Northern LA or the Hollywood area. Very easy to navigate here. It feels a little run down compared to the SNA airport. WiFi is very unreliable, so I have to rely on cellular data when I'm here. Bring battery packs!
google avatar

Brandon S.

Yelp
Rating: 4.1 This airport is my favorite in the LA area because of its combination of price and convenience. It is a small airport, only two terminals, so it is rather fast to get to your gate. There is no connector between the terminals so if you mess up like I once did you'll have to reenter security. Food selection is slim but it is entertaining seeing Guy Fieri's burger restaurants here or his show on the TVs occupy your time. If you have priority pass there are no current lounges to access through their program. Bathrooms are typically out of paper towels and slightly messy. Car rentals are a short walk away, no need for a shuttle. On the way over to car rentals there are even some moving walkways to assist you in the trek! Overall, I like Burbank airport and will be my go to for LA travel. Pros: - quick to navigate - great in comparison to other LA airports - many flight options if you fly southwest - easy pickup/dropoff - occasionally seeing actors traveling is fun Cons: - not many good options for food - no priority pass lounges - messy bathrooms

Yelp
Add more outlets!! Other than that this is my fav airport in LA area. Organize and quick.

Yelp
TSA should have an oversight committee. These glorified security guards purposefully made me miss my flight.

Yelp
I went to drop off my son's friend to this airport. It was my first time coming here. The apps I used to try to find this location kept me going in circles, but we eventually found it. This airport is much smaller than other airports that I've been to. There were employees with safety vests directing the traffic because the drop off area was very small and unfortunately there were other drivers dropping off their passengers with luggage as well. Nonetheless, the employees directing traffic did their job and we were able to drop off our passenger with his luggage easily.

Yelp
Of the LA area airports only Burbank offers rail connection. With 2 regional rail lines one to the north and one to the south of the terminal a new terminal is under construction. For now the old terminal is a small building that is easy to navigate. There is not much in the way of restaurants and bars. There is gates use push up ramps to board the planes . Avelo , Spirit , southwest all serve Burbank. Frequently fairs are lower than Long Beach , LAX , Ontario or John Wane . Parking is easy with short and long term parking as well as a valet parking available all under $45 a day. So price and ease of use are a 5 star if you are looking to have a meal do it prior to arrival.

Yelp
So have you recently traveled through Hollywood Burbank (Bob Hope) airport ? I did so recently on my trip to Las Vegas. Getting to the airport may and can be a traffic nightmare, like it was for me. Once you get into the airport area, entering the terminal, going through security and accessing your gate is a breeze. Problem here is parking. The economy lots were full, the cheapest one being $15, other lots (higher priced) were also full. Only option was Valet. That is just exactly next to the two terminals. Wow. Around $27 a day. So very convenient you drop off the car and just walk across into the terminal. No maddening internal traffic like at LAX. Once in the terminal and I was at the B terminal, don't expect any fancy restaurants. Guy Fieri has two spots, one a kitchen and bar and the other, a Sammich place, grab and go, kiosk type. There is a coffee joint, Jones Coffee Roasters, that's it. My medium Americano at $6.30. Burbank Airport needs to improve on their services. The seating areas by the gates have no power outlets and cupholders. Really? This is a major hassle. If you don't plan ahead to juice up your phone, you are in trouble. The intercom system also needs fine-tuning....announcements at the gate are partially in audible or is it that the staff is speaking too fast, too much coffee maybe? The airport management needs to also invest in expanding the existing parking lots or constructing new ones. Burbank Airport is a magnetic alternative if you wish to avoid the madness at LAX. Also and hopefully, future airfare prices from Burbank will be more competitive with LAX. This way, more people will use this airport departure point for their future travels. Either way, these are small negatives that are manageable, at least for now. Having said all this, I know I will come back ....to travel through Burbank airport again.

Yelp
I learned about BUR maybe 10-12 years ago after hating flying into LAX. It's kind of a poorly kept secret, but in case you haven't heard about BUR despite traveling to LA, the experience to fly into LA is MUCH better if you go through BUR or LGB. Still, to this day, I refuse to fly in via LAX unless there's some crazy discount or whatnot going on, or if you just really needed to be in the Santa Monica/Marina del Rey/West LA/South LA area quickly. BUR is kind of a small, quaint, one story airport, but is still quite serviceable. It's one of the few (or maybe several IDK) airports where baggage claim is outside, so you'll see the carousel outside on the curb. The cool thing about BUR is if you're flying into BUR via Southwest Airlines (maybe other airliners do it too), they offload travelers from both the front of the plane and back of the plane. Usually most airports will load you in and out of an airplane only from the front, but my experience with BUR is they simultaneously will let you in and out of the plane from the front and the back. Pretty neat! The airport does feel a little lower tech than other airports I've seen, however. Also, the rental car area is pretty far from the terminals, and requires at least 3 flat escalators to get there.

Yelp
Easy breezy to leave from this gem of an airport. What wasn't easy to find was long-term parking lot. We got "lost" and instead found a private paid lot for half the price. But the airport itself, security, boarding, etc. - perfection. Wish they had transcontinental flights to Europe, but alas, LAX it is. Highly recommended!

Yelp
Parking is a mucking fess. We had a flight, it was cancelled. We parked in $28/day lot because cheaper long-term parking is being rebuilt, but there is no signage saying so. Anyway, after our flight was cancelled we went back to our car, pulled into the checkout lane and they wanted $28 for 3 hours of parking. When I complained that the signs said $28/a day the person answering the help line said "you've been here for 3 hours, what do you want?" I said I want the 3 hour rate, she said that's $28.00. I just want them to be fair, if your flight is cancelled, and not your fault, you should not pay a 24 hour rate.

Yelp
One of the best airports - for those that need a seamless and quick in/out. For Southwest, I like how they let you deboard from the front or back of the plane. So no stress on getting 'A' boarding here, just go to the back of the plane and you'll be able to get off the plane first. Its a small airport and not the most modern but if you want to avoid the hustle and bustle of LAX - Burbank, Ontario, and even Long Beach airport are great alternatives.
