Hollywood Tower Apartments

Update: Quantum Prime Realty is the worst landlord, absolutely unprofessional. Suzannah Owens and Nick Eliopolis have not responded to 4 emails that I've sent over 1 month asking for clarification about a $50 rent increase that suddenly appeared on my rent charges. This is illegal as 30-day written notice is required for rent increases of 10% or less, as stipulated by California Civil Code 827 (b) (2). They refuse to respond and continue overcharging month after month. If they do not respond to me in the next week, I will have no choice but to contact a lawyer. It's extremely frustrating to live in a building with property managers who do not treat such matters with the seriousness that they warrant. Inexcusable. 0/0 review for Quantum Prime Realty's handling of this property and its tenents. I love my apartment unit! However this building has very incompetent management (Quantum Prime Realty). The facilities are dirty. There is no security. The plumbing is a nightmare. The garbage dumpster situation in the basement is post-apocalyptic. And the people who manage the building are not professional. They do not respond to calls or emails. They don't seem to have any interest in the property or community of people who live here. It's sad because the apartment units are lovely. It could be so nice. Quantum Prime Reality also tried to illegally raise my rent in violation of the Tenet Protection Act. When I called this to their attention I has told to ignore the rent increase and continue paying my previous rent amount. Yet, the accounting system has been overcharging me for rent and the managers have failed to correct the error after 4 months--leaving me to deal with an ever-increasing, albeit invalid, balance on my account. I have brought this to the attention of Suzannah Owens each month (4 times) to no avail.

I strongly advise against moving here. I've lived in this apartment complex for over a year, and it has been nothing but regrettable. Let's start with the management—Suzannah, the manager, is incredibly unwelcoming and unhelpful. Trying to get a response from her is like pulling teeth; she conveniently ignores emails until it's time for rent collection. Any issues you bring up are brushed aside until the last possible moment, if they're addressed at all. Moreover, the cleanliness of the property is abysmal. Both patios are littered with dog feces and reek of urine, attracting swarms of flies and even roaches. Approaching the front door is a nightmare, with piles of waste greeting you and an army of flies making themselves at home. It's embarrassing to have guests over due to the overwhelming infestation. To top it off, don't expect to see your deposit again. Hollywood Tower puts on a friendly facade to lure you in, but once you've signed the lease, good luck getting anyone in management to respond to your concerns, let alone return your deposit. They will create fake ledges to steal from you and once they’ve done it you won’t receive any further contact. Overall, my experience here has been a nightmare, and I urge anyone considering renting here to look elsewhere for a more respectful and sanitary living environment.

Beautiful and historic landmark! Extremely charming classic Hollywood residential building with a modern flare. The units are very clean and spacious, and the gorgeous rooftop views are to die for. The gym and the rooftop exercise equipment is perfect for watching the sunset while working out, then treating yourself to a glass of wine on the second rooftop while facing the Hollywood sign. The location is in the heart of Hollywood and there are many great shops, cafes and eateries within walking distance. From the moment you step in, you feel you are in a Hollywood movie; the colors, architecture and ambiance is lovely. The building is also very well maintained especially with the newly appointed management team; they are extremely attentive and helpful.

LOVE THIS BUILDING. This building is so unique since it is a historical building. The view of Hollywood from both rooftops is amazing, all of my friends want to visit. It is so much better since the new owners have taken over. I also needed a building that has parking and a gym which is hard to find in Los Angeles.

If you are thinking about moving into this building, I strongly advise you not to. The amenities advertised such as the rooftop terraces and front garden are trashed and severely neglected. The 24 hour security is non-existent. Your hot water will be turned off without warning every other week (if not every week). In the last year that I've lived in this building, there have been over ten break-ins by non-residents. The management company will gaslight you when confronted and does not care about the well-being or safety of it's tenants. In my 10 years as a renter, I've never felt so unsafe and neglected. Do not move here.

This place is just extraordinary! The old Hollywood glam vibe is just what you want from your visit to Hollywood. I heard Charlie Chaplin lived here and was so excited. We stayed in a great penthouse that overlooked the Hollywood hills, the freeway was also next to us but the windows don’t let any sound come inside. Would definitely recommend to anyone!!

I could not be HAPPIER with Hollywood Tower as a resident. Giovanni goes above and BEYOND managing this beautiful, historic building day in and out. He goes the extra mile to make sure anything you need is catered to. The building is impeccably maintained, the amenities are second to none and all maintenance and service requests are answered immediately. If you want true class in the heart of Hollywood, look no further.

Honestly, worst experience I’ve had ever. I landed in La midnight and went to my apartment that I booked on Hollywood in the middle of the town. And went to get the key from the lock box wasn’t there, we went to the apartment and people were inside sleeping. Answered the door half naked. We called the number we had but no one answered and we were left stranded in the streets of Hollywood in the middle of the night. Then they ‘upgraded’ us to this tower. Which wasn’t very clean and honestly locked scary inside. Fast forward to two day later, a women showed up with the same experience, stating that she has booked the current apartment and wants to get it. But she understood as soon as we explain to her what happened. The beds were clean tho but made noise every time we moved. Also the place was full of mini cockroaches as shown in picture.

The only cool parts about this place are the history of the building and the community of folx that live here. Management is absent (I have never met our manager in person, and there are no office hours), we have no security, and service requests are fulfilled slower than most of the places that I've lived at before. I know that this is because the folx that our ownership group employs are overworked, but if you're going to move here, you ought to know the truth.

The building management is letting the building and shared community areas decay. no repairs are ever done. it smells horrible in the lobby. the laundry room is flooding and missing door on multiple washing machines. the roof is not maintained and smells like dog feces and pee. the building claims there is a front desk security but there is no one ever. management is impossible to get a hold of to make any repairs ever even when necessary by law.

We were so excited to stay at the legendary Hollywood Tower hotel. We did not question the extra $150 "cleaning fee", at first. Our daughter flew in from Seattle to meet us. We had a lovely evening in Hollywood. Everything was fine until the next morning. Our daughter had pulled the sheet off the bed to find 2 BLOODSTAINS just inches from where her head had been! We stripped the mattress to see other areas where a half-hearted effort had been made to clean it up. We have pictures to prove what we saw. Did someone die in our hotel room? Our poor daughter was traumatized and disgusted. We contacted the manager to complain and were told, "Eh...that's just lipstick." Ummm, no. My wife is a former nurse. Blood is very different than lipstick. Management refused to refund our "cleaning fee" or compensate us for this vileness. Cannot speak for other rooms but ours was definitely an overpriced BIOHAZARD. I will try to post pictures of the bloody mattress. Decide for yourself.

I am unable to give a review because the "viewing" of the units has been NON existent. Brianna contacted me soon enough via e mail but never followed through. I called the phone number included in her email and another lady answered saying "its best to contact Brianna via email." Still no reply. So if they are not serious about leasing the place, at least RESPOND!

Current resident and could not be HAPPIER with Hollywood Tower. Giovanni goes above and BEYOND managing this beautiful, historic building day in and out. I was harassed the entire time I stayed here by management ( Brianna Ickes ) and other tenants who are all part of the same group. They will talk outside your window and try to open your door all hours of the night and day. Everything is heard Ive heard them talking about phone calls I made in my private residence & even talking about things I was doing inside my apt. Do NOT sign a lease because you will be left with the decision to stay and endure 12 months of harassment or screw your credit by leaving. Be Careful. Avoid this place.

Addendum to previous review: Management has dramatically increased rent prices and resident are losing amenities due to labeling the La Belle tower next door. Half of the residents in the Hollywood Tower currently park in the building next door, as the old building has few parking spots. New residents will likely have to park on the street - not okay for a property that charges luxury prices. Allegedly, 98.7 has also pulled its rooftop promotional concerts. I've had a lease here for 4 years now. I've enjoyed my stay, but will likely move on as this is clearly the end of an era for the building. Previous review: I've lived in the Hollywood Tower for a year now and I've definitely enjoyed myself. Location, location, location: The Hollywood Tower is located in such a great area of LA - just above the action in downtown Hollywood and just below the hills. It's a unique LA spot that feels secluded even though it is right in the middle of everything. I love this neighborhood so much that I rarely ever go elsewhere. HT is walking distance to so many great places. Seriously, every place I go to is just a short walk from home The apartments: I live in the original Hollywood Tower (not the new La Belle tower next door) and I love my apartment. I have an incredible view of the Hollywood sign and Griffith Observatory. My floor plan is large and open with lots of windows and the well-kept building is in great condition is great for it's age. As a resident here, you will hear many ghost stories. I have been told I reside in one of the most haunted units. I find this totally entertaining, but have yet to experience any paranormal activity. Caution: Despite the love I have for the neighborhood and the building, I am very dissatisfied with the management. This has been a big issue with my satisfaction as a renter and the reason why I am giving it 3 stars instead of 4. The people in the office are quite flakey and they are rarely seen keeping regular office hours. I have had maintenance requests that still haven't been completed after 6 months! I still don't have a properly working phone line, and my AC unit has been leaking since I moved in. HT's solution - they gave me a bucket...

My friends live here and I'm extremely jealous of all the great amenities that this building offers their residents. Rooftop patio with grills and a gigantic chess board and twister set? Awesome. Free concerts for residents and their guests? Sign me up! Hot tub, heated pool and fire pit? Even better. This place is almost like a hotel. They even have cycling classes and personal trainers (I'm sure it's extra $$$ though). But I guess living at a hotel can get old. People are obnoxious and take advantage of communal privileges. And rent is astoundingly high. $2600 or so for a 1 bedroom with a tiny kitchen. I guess the management thought a view of the 101 was worth that hot-property price hike.

Still no elevator...still no construction workers...still excuses. Thankfully my lease is up this summer, but RENTER BEWARE.

This place is impressive! I've been coming to LA for business frequently for over a decade and noticed there was construction throughout the years. As of recently, I noticed some impressive renovations that beautified the interior and exterior. I had the pleasure of visiting the top floors recently but unfortunately the elevator was down and I had to walk all the way up. Nevertheless, the building is gorgeous and the penthouse and service is impeccable. I really hope they are able to fix the elevator situation because I would like to come back next time I'm in town for business.

So... Came home to this construction today. No heads up from management. Maybe she told the tenants that are leaving favorable reviews here? If so, can you please ask her what is this construction? How long will it will last? And if she will notify the other tenants and not just her friends here? Much appreciated! #rentersbeware

Neighbors with lucite heels. I hate to write this review but I have to be honest about my experience living at this landmark for one year. I moved in January 2010 and moved out January 2011 and my review is based on the classic building at 6200. Pros: Nice remodel / historic building / timely and caring maintenance crew (my experience) / professionalism of April B (not April T the former mgr.) Cons: First and foremost - The mgt. companies (Alliance Corporation) decision to do a "hip hollywood 'red velvet' lifestyle. Turns out the kind of people this marketing attracts are newbies to L.A. and want-to-bes who cannot afford to live there unless they have multiple roommates - many I suspect as secret (shared keys, propped open doors, shared parking access stickers (never applied to one car windshied as required) etc. etc. Second - Mgt. decision to lease the penthouse to a rock station that does many events allowing anyone to come. Creates hectic parking and drunks that would not leave the building until all hours. Doors propped open, trash, cigarette butts and beer cans left all over the place AFTER EVERY SINGLE EVENT. Look at the positive reviews on here - mostly by visitors to some of the events I mentioned. I wonder how their rating would be if they had drunk strangers banging around their home all the time. Third - The general fraternity house environment with people trying to score (in ALL ways) from their neighbors - doors to apartments banging at all hours and screaming up and down stairs. Fourth - After moving in I received no replies to ANY email inquiries to the general contact email address until the month I actually move out (new mgt. started). I work very long hours and would have to adjust my work schedule to sit and wait in the office for anything I felt needed attention. Rarely were calls returned and the after hours emergency info was not correct on the voice mail instructions Fifth - Basic business practice and quality management - simple things such as informing tenants when updates where done (revised security entry codes, re-assignment of parking spots, activity of parking security call-box never happened. The main notifications would be about stupid dogs owned by dimbos who would let them crap in the wrong place - that we heard about although nothing would ever be done because, as we all know, dimbos with stupid dogs cannot read. - Smokers leaving the fire escape doors open all night so they can smoke hanging out side at 3am bothering everyone but naturally cannot smoke in their own apartment (So selfish some people) Summary: This historic building was victim to really poor business decisions, lack of strategic planning and bad mgt. of the building while I was there. The quality of the neighbors and residence who moved in during my time is the best example of either the bad economy or crappy background screening. As I was moving out there seemed to be a change in mgt. and a slight uptick in correspondence so perhaps things will turn around. It really is too bad Alliance Corporation chose to go after a market that does not do justice to the building.

Take 1 Cup "Melrose Place" - the original series, add 2 cups "Animal House", 5 TBS of coke and 2 1/2 TBS of heroin and shake liberally. Results.... what it is like living at La Belle in Hollywood Towers. If you are into puke in the elevator, trash left by neighbors and their guests in the pool area, lazy residents that can't manage to get their trash down the trash shoot, people screaming and jumping into the pool and jacuzzi at 2 AM during the work week and loud techo and/or rap playing at 3:30 AM this is the place for you. I thought by paying a premium in rent I would get a premium building with classy people. Instead the vocal minority seems to be 20 somethings who have never worked in their life, have mommy and daddy pay for everything and ruin things for the rest of us.

This place is horrible! Do yourself a favor and walk around the block before moving in. Not worth the price. Over priced and riddled with problems

I rented one of the roof top lounge areas for an event and it turned out fantastically however the service SUCKED. Property managers were incredibly difficult to get a hold of and could not be more inefficient and not helpful.

If I could give less than one star, I would. I lived there from December 2010, and moved out April 2011. The first unit I lived in was the infamous 'tiny unit' of less than 250 square feet. I was fine living in a small unit seeing as I don't need much to be happy. My complaint isn't about the size. It smelled like chemicals in the makeshift pantry that was so hastily made that the door didn't shut. I didn't realize this until a few days after I moved in. I decided to just stop into the leasing office and put in a work order. To this day, I honestly have no idea if that work order was ever dealt with because I ended up moving upstairs after I couldn't deal with the smell. The second unit I moved into was actually a really nicely sized unit. I had two roommates because the rent was so high. We were all LA natives, though. Not newbies. I was so happy to be out of the smelly apartment that I looked past the obvious flaws of this new unit. The kitchen was so cramped that you couldn't open the fridge door or the dishwasher all the way, and you had to stand outside the kitchen doorway to get anything in or out of the oven. Also, the lack of cupboard space was kind of ridiculous. And outlets. There were 6 max in the entire unit. Next is the bathroom. The bathtub never worked, and the toilet was really tiny. Even for me, and I'm 5' tall. We called in a work order for the bathtub, but got nowhere (obviously). Now onto the floors. My unit started developing visible water damage on the ceiling, floor, and walls. I avoided maintenance all together and went straight to the manager. He was really nice, and went with me so I could show him what was going on. He had people come and fix the walls, but when the person came to fix the floors, they did a shabby job on sealing the wood, and I ended up getting a massive cut from a sharp piece sticking up. -_- Nobody ever came to fix the ceilings, or re fix the floors, despite my numerous calls. Lastly, I want to talk about the move out. I had arranged a flexible lease because I was a student, so I wasn't breaking a lease. I had sat down with the manager and worked everything out to the last step to ensure that I wasn't nickel and dimed on the way out. When I came to return my keys, I was met by a very rude and mindless employee (the manager had left for the day). They told me that I couldn't leave because I hadn't paid them what I owed, and so on and so forth. I was confused because I had already paid my double rent for move out. They told me I had to pay for my set of keys that I used (which I returned), my car sticker (which I returned), and repay my deposit (which was waived since my unit was in pristine condition). Um. No. Needless to say, I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone. Ever. There were times when I'd come home from work, and there would literally be a lounge cushion in a tree. There were too many drunk people, I never could park in my parking spot (which I paid for every month) because there were always parties. Go there for an event, but never EVER live there unless you want to be miserable.

Tell me it is NOT so. Is Polaris Management Company really going to destroy the historical HOLLYWOOD TOWER lobby and put up walls to build an office for management??? NNNNOOOOOOO, how NOT historical is that??? This is a classic building and that is disrespectful. The entrance look will be changed forever, PLEASE, PLEASE DO NOT DO THAT!!! That is grounds for breaking the lease. That would be the straw.

Giving the property another star. The new owners were here today on the patio with a company who is refinishing all of the patio furniture and refreshing the plants. They've refinished the wooden deck already as well, so it appears the new owners will be returning this building to it's potential. The music in the lobby has returned to classic 40's vibe and brought back the old time feel. Once the desk in the lobby disappears we'll have our building back to it's original charm.

I am basing my review on my experience living in La Belle and visiting apartments in the Hollywood Tower often. This building was built in the 1920s and was the residence of famous names like Marilyn Monroe and Humphrey Bogart. Around the 1970s, the building and surrounding areas became a little dodgey/dangerous. Since then, the building was bought by a real estate investment company and is managed by Alliance. The rent is a little cheaper here then at the newer building, La Belle. But you still have access to all the La Belle amenities. (See my review for La Belle for more info). The one downside of the apartments here is that two bedroom units only have one bathroom. And the second bedroom, at least in the units I've seen, is fairly small. I guess it depends on where your unit is located, but the rooms have an odd shape that makes it interesting to decorate. The living area is the plus tho. There is enough room in the licking area for a pretty big dining table, multi/sectional couches, TV & console, Bookshelf, etc. There is also a mini office area and nook area you can use for storage or whatever. Also, there is parking attached to this building but it is much smaller than the one in the newer building. Small and difficult to maneuver given that there's also one entry/exit, so you have to drive slowly and watch out! You do have the option of renting a spot in the newer parking structure which isn't too much out of the way... You may also experience some supernatural occurrences in your apartment if you're lucky enough to get one of the haunted ones!!

I don't live here but I spent my Saturday night socializing with friends at a couple of different apartments in this legendary Hollywood landmark. Built in 1929 this is the hotel that is the inspiration behind a Disneyland ride called Tower of Terror and is recognized from many movies and pictures. The building is really beautiful on the outside, and the inside is also very nice. Most of the kitchens I saw had hardwood flooring and top of the line appliances so they have definitely been updated. The hallways are plush with fancy wallpaper and fixtures. The company that bought this place a few years ago has done a lot to try and fix it up. However you can still tell that the place has some issues that I don't think can really ever be remedied completely based on its age. This is going to just come with the territory. The parking is an underground garage that you access with either a remote if you live there or by using the phone box to dial the person you are coming to see. There are a lot of parking spots but they are all numbered so be aware that you may be taking somebody's designated spot. The ramp going down to the parking is kind of a wild ride because it is one way going up, yet it is the only ramp you can use to get down to park. People drive fast and don't pay attention coming up so you might get run over. Most of the units have doors that open to the outside but the view is of the 101 Freeway meaning you have nothing but concrete and cars speeding by at top speeds. Not-so-great. The location though is really awesome because you can walk to a lot of cool spots in Hollywood or cab for cheap. A lot of celebrities from the past and present hang out or have hung out here because of proximity. A lot of rooftop parties and such are hosted here as this place is a hot party spot. If you are thinking of living here you should be aware of this environment and know that it comes with a heavy price tag. A one bedroom will cost you around $2400 a month. There's a price to pay for fame and glam.

I moved in to the La Belle building on July 3rd. The entire move-in / application process was simple, quick, & convenient! The leasing agent Liz, Assistant Manager Timmy and General Manager Chad did an amazing job getting me moved in a timely manner. This place feels like home and I hope it stays this way.

Simply the best place you can live in Hollywood. The building boasts original architecture and stays true to its vintage Hollywood roots. The units have been beautifully upgraded with all of the modern amenities you can expect, within the price range they are renting for, and they have been modernized without losing its sense of elegance and charm. As far as the amenities are concerned, I was hooked by the 24 hour fitness center, on-site laundry, security, rooftop decks that boost 360 views of the city and one of the best views of the Hollywood sign. Seriously, it looks like you can reach out and touch it. The building stays true to its boutique nature and I honestly couldn't be happier having just moved in. Its exciting to have my friends over as they've always wanted to come in and take a peek. You have to admit, the exterior and neon sign on top of the building makes you wonder what's happening when you're driving by on the 101. LOCATION! The building has a young vibe because of its location. It is true young Hollywood at its best. It's the area you want to live in. Franklin village is stumbling distance with great coffee shops and bars. Public transit is very close with the red line being at Hollywood & Vine. It's such a walkable area which is great because, I don't know about you, but I've had enough of those damn LA parking tickets. The one thing is, the elevator is cool and stays true to its original design....But it's still creepy to be in. Haha but that's to be expected given the History behind the Hollywood Tower. All-in-all, I love living here and you should definitely take a look if your the slightest bit curious.

This is a gorgeous building built in 1929. Very old Hollywood glamour. I was recently at a roof-top party hosted at the Hollywood Tower. Such a wonder view ! And Old Hollywood atmosphere. The roof-top is wonderful with plenty of seating. The decor is stunning and the view is stunning. Cute Cherubs waterfalls and a huge Chess set - both make for a fun evening. It was such wonderful evening at the party I attended. They have really made this Apartment Tower shine with the original feeling of Old Hollywood elegance and glamour. Fantastic atmosphere.

This review will be based on a concert I went to last night at the rooftop of the Hollywood Tower hosted by 98.7. The rooftop was gorgeous. You have an amazing view of the Hollywood sign and LA. There was a giant twister board on the ground. The rooftop was kind of small and would only be able to hold about a hundred or so people so during private concerts its very intimate. There were a lot of seats from benches, chairs, and lawn chairs. The only thing was when we were going to try and use the elevator the security guy told us that if we wanted to get stuck for hours then we should definitely use the elevator. So that's a little scary. Other than that. I had an amazing time seeing Capital Cities at a private concert last night. Will definitely go again.

I was looking at apartments and this place blew me away! Nikki, the property manager, took the time to give me an extended tour. She was very attentive and answered all my questions; of which I had a lot, she was a big help throughout the whole process. The building is from the Golden Age of Hollywood and has such a wonderful vibe throughout. You really get a sense of that epoch in time. That being said, it has been updated with all the necessities we desire today. Thank you Nikki! This is my dream place!

Love living here! Great neighbors, Nicki is a super nice and competent Manager and overall me and my husband are just so happy with the location and everything that comes with it.

JAYEME IS A HORRIBLE MANAGER. The building itself is great and past managers have been cool and professional. Unfortunately latest manager is HORRIBLE. We fully agree with the other posts on here, no one is EVER at the front desk, the front door has broken for days. When you do get a hold of her she rude, unprofessional and a BULLY. She withheld lease renewals unless Facebook and yelp reviews were removed, this is considered a threat and harassment and according to Legal Aid grounds for legal action, as is sharing personal information with other residents, slander anyone. She back dates notices (plural) that she puts on our doors. How about sending an email like past managers would do, oh that's right there would be a legitimate date on those. if you don't abide she will send you threatening condescending texts. We are happy to abide by the rules but legally you must give a 24 notice unless it's an emergency. She tows cars but tells security not to tow her friends cars. Her friends can stay on rooftop all night (there is a curfew in our lease) but tells security to kick off someone she doesn't like. According to Fair Housing this is a violation of our rights as all residents must be treated equally. It's a shame that one person can ruin the vibe of this place, it used to be great, really sad. I hope the owners of this building read this. If they want to verify any of it they should come to the building and ask residents what their experience has been with management. I nearly had the misfortune to move into Hollywood Tower Apartments. This was just prior to the new portion being built and I was due to move into a brand new apartment. I was excited despite the location (more on that in a moment). Then the manager got fired and 'lost' all my paperwork, my deposit check and credit check documents. So three days prior to my supposed move-in, I find out they've NEVER heard of me and rather than apologize they tried to jack me up for more money...so I went elsewhere. After I found a better place in which to reside (it was Kismet I think) I got all the horror stories from my friends who used to live there. Anyway the buildings flanked by two gas stations and the 101 Freeway behind it within about 50 feet. They actually built the NEW building over top one of the gas stations. $2500 a month for 1 bedroom AND a view of a major freeway and gas station...are you kidding me? 6/8/12 - I wanted to add a few comments. Yes Hollywood Tower Apartments ARE haunted. Yes, when I had a friend living in the old building I felt things whenever I was over her place. Yes the gym in the basement was totally creepy. Yes lots of famous people have lived and partied here. And Yes, Hollywood Tower Apartments are absolutely beautiful. The area is not so safe, but getting better. There are LOTS of issues in Hollywood as a whole and any new people moving here just isn't aware of the problems - YET. I lived in Hollywood in four different apartments for a total of almost 8 years. I had to move out of Hollywood because of the partiers, the noise, the crime, the traffic, the regularly closed roads, the drug addicts doing the MOST disgusting things I have ever witnessed. Lest I mention the MURDERS, RIOTS, hideous trash, and nasty hateful landlords and managment of many of the apartments. YIKES. I feel like Woodland Hills IS PARADISE compared to Hollywood. Hollywood provides excellent fodder for writing your screenplay however. Good luck with Hollywood Towers...because kids it AIN'T DISNEYLAND!

Im here to be honest and with all my heart I would give this place negative stars if I could. Quick summary: -Insane plumbing and water damage issues. -Major ant issues in both buildings -Poor Management...Nice human beings, but not good at their jobs. - One positive- good insulation as you dont really hear neighbors and double pain windows block sound of the freeway well. Most units have very small windows that actually open. We have 1 in the bathroom, 1 in the living room, 1 in the bedroom. The long Sad Saga: After 3 years of living at the Hollywood Tower I would highly recommend that you take your precious money and go elsewhere....to a place that cares about taking care of their tenants instead of just taking their money. For the first two years I loved this place...but it has degraded very quickly. I love the way the building looks and I have loved the layout of my unit...but once things go wrong with your space there is nothing more to love because nobody will help you. Plumbing is a major issue here. You can have a black death sludge overflow out of your kitchen sink and run all over your floor...due in large part to the intelligent neighbors you have that think its cool to put chicken bones and other fun things down the drain. Or you can have a major leak ruin your entire bathroom. You can report it all you want, but here they simply just want everything to fall to pieces before they even think about coming over to fix it. And the problem is...they wont even think about it because they will forget and no matter how many maintenance orders you put in on their website, no matter how many emails you write, or letters you include with your rent check...they simply won't take care of things or get back to you. Our living room flooded while we were away for the weekend and our cat sitter was the one to find the lake sitting in our apartment. We put in the maintenance order then patiently waited for a month for the folks here "fix" the ceiling where the leak occurred. Silly us, we thought because they came in and did work after a month of asking and reminding that the issue was resolved...turns out they just gave us a face lift. A few weeks later the ceiling in our shower caved in and water started pouring through. Apparently there was a major leak in the unit above ours that they DID know about, but because they were in between maintenance supervisors they did nothing. We called the emergency line and somebody showed up the next day to take the dry wall out of the shower but did nothing else. We emailed and heard nothing. We called and left voicemails, and lastly we went to the leasing office and refused to leave until somebody did something. To placate us they sent someone over to look at it with us. Key word "look." That's all they had people do for a month was "look." Water poured through the ceiling daily for a month, we had to keep towels in our floor, and we were ignored, except for when we got fussy, and that's when we got more "look" time...but we never received any word on when they would begin to fix our issue. Because we have a separate bath tub and shower we still had a place to bathe...but very inconvenient AND we are not getting what we pay for. They want us to pay our rent in full, but they want us to go without our shower for an unknown amount of time. We've been dealing the best we can. We've been stifling our anger as best we can, but just a few days ago, because they have let this leak run rampant for over two months, the ceiling above our bath tub has now split open and begun to leak. We are running out of options and we simply get no updates as to when this nightmare will end. They did some kind of "work" in the unit above ours today...again after over two months of water destroying the building...all the walls in our bathroom are bubbled up and probably full of mold. They came in and taped plastic over the shower to keep debris from falling everywhere...well all I know is that the water pouring through the ceiling is worse and we have a pile of towels there to suck up the water on the floor. I dont know if we will ever see a resolution to this before we move out in a few months. But what I do know is that ever since April T left, the management here has really sucked. They care more about being hip and sexy than they do about rescuing their tenants from maintenance issue hell. So, yes if you happen to rent a unit that is problem free, you might enjoy the "pimpness" of these apartments as we once did...but also know you might have to deal with the crowd that comes with the 98.7 penthouse parties which are basically strangers that dont care about leaving spilt booze and vomit around your common areas.

I'm saddened by the fact I have to write this review, as it was a dream come true moving here in the first place. I lived near beachwood canyon (a few blocks over) back in 2008, and I would always drive past The Hollywood Tower. I've always marveled at its beauty and rich Hollywood history. I did a walk through of an available unit back in 2013, but decided against it because of its location over the 101 highway. I was a bit sensitive to the constant noise. So when my current unit, overlooking the gorgeous Hollywood sign and stunning Hollywood hills opened, I rushed to learn more about the complex. I was shown around by Tim Ton. Just about the nicest, most helpful leasing agent and apartment manager. He shared with me the amenities I'd be moving into, starting with the picture perfect club house, stunning pool and jacuzzi, updated fitness center with new cardio equipment, business center with lounge banquets and printer, and guest bathrooms. These were all in the neighboring La Belle, but I was assured of my access via key fob with associated lease agreement. * fast forward - to my great dismay, Tim is no longer working here and his spot has been replaced by a woman that has never said hello nor acknowledged me when I pass the desk, which is now in our lobby where I used to hang out with friends that came to visit me (our agents used to be in the La Belle building, in a proper office with actual lighting, and it's quite unfair for even them to have to operate out of the lobby as it's too dark to be doing business in) . The amenities, as described in other reviews, have all been taken away due to the sale of La Belle. Upon moving I had a SERIOUS cockroach problem, and had to call maintenance and Orkin several times. How disgusting. Big roaches, baby roaches, crawling around day and night. As I had given myself a month grace period to move out of my other apartment my kitchen was empty. No food was left to draw a roach infestation. I had the place re-caulked, holes filled, and even had roach traps placed by Orkin. I found out that they were coming from another floor and many other residents suffered from a unit that had been left dirty by a tenant. I've also struggled with fruit flys, and other strange bugs and when Orkin comes they always treat the drains, so I'm thinking they have to come from there. I've taped my drains shut in the bathroom and keep my windows shut most of the time. It is a bit frustrating. The unit itself is beautiful and I will admit that anytime I had a problem, Tim had someone get to the issue right away. Neighbors do leave trash in the hallways but there are cleaners and they do a decent job. I cancelled my gym membership upon moving in and use the gym in Hollywood tower on a daily basis but it's rarely deep cleaned, it doesn't have a cubby for your keys and things, the multi use machine is never oiled and its unbalanced so unless you put weight plates underneath certain spots the whole contraption moves when you're doing the leg press. The elliptical machine buttons don't work in the Hollywood tower and since I can no longer to cardio at La Belle, this has become my problem. It would be nice if the gym had a purified water jug or towels like all my other complexes have had... for the price we pay!! I had a get together on our gorgeous roof top in March. Towards the last hour (4:30 pm on a Sunday), a homeless drunk crawled up the fire escape, over the glass wall and tried to join our party. He was harmless enough but I had to warn my guests and then turn him down when he asked for some of our wine. Very strange and could have been very unsafe. On top of all this on April 7th, 4 months after I moved in, I received a note on my door about community improvements and how it would be necessary to move my parking spot! I was moved to a completely different section of the la belle garage two gates away near gower street!!!! I'm already having to walk across the street and down a staircase to get to my car since Hollywood tower supposedly doesn't have any available space, even though this is the complex I live in! So I get rained on and have to carry loads of groceries several hundred meters from my spot to the door of Hollywood tower. So why has a new car been assigned to my old spot?! No community improvements have been made. I've just been pushed to a very inconvenient spot!!!! I've emailed for a rent reduction and have been told that the community is not considered reductions at this time. It is so insanely costly to move and I had high hopes for this place. I just think what has been done regarding the removal of our amenities, the poor change in management, the movement of my parking spot, and the constant bug problems and break ins warrants some attention. Please hear us!!!!

The Hollywood Tower is definitely my dream place. Our building is beautiful, everybody is friendly, courteous and sweet. Jayme, our building manager was welcoming and accommodating from the very beginning. She has a way of making us feel comfortable enough to come to her for anything. Plus, I love living amongst all of these beautiful people lol

I lived here for two years and let me tell you. Management is terrible. After moving out we left them the apartment spotless and they have yet to give us our security deposit back. It's been over a month now and we have emailed and called and they do not respond! Not only that we had mold in our shower that they just painted over before we moved in. I never write reviews but I just had to say something. I paid so much money to live here and they don't even have the decency to return our security deposit or phone call. DO NOT MOVE IN!

I am one who is writing this review due to lack of professionalism and response to emails and voice mails. I recently applied to Hollywood Tower with much excitement but my application was denied. Not having read any of the reviews prior to me applying I feel that someone was watching over me. I have been longing to live in this building because of the beauty of Hollywood. After being denied, I have yet to receive my deposit back. I was not told by the leasing agent, Tim Ton that it would take 3 weeks and I feel it is up to the agent to work on the behalf of the tenant and company and to be in complete compliance when working as a dual agent. I have worked as a leasing agent as well and I know the responsibility of a leasing agent to serve both parties with continued communication until the end. By lack of response and keeping me abreast of my refund, I find this as a typical behavior of those who work for a company for the pay check and because they "care" to assist those in need of shelter or a professional service. I was left to no other choice but to join the masses in writing a poor review. It you choose to apply and get denied be aware your refund can take up to 3 weeks and you will not be told this by the agent.

We received an notice taped to our door with less than 24 hours that the water will be shut off. Looks like I'm responsible to leave my apartment within 24 hours to know if the water will be running the next day.

Took a rooftop yoga class at the Hollywood Tower. It was pretty awesome taking in the views of the Hollywood Sign, the 101...lol, downtown and Hollywood and Vine. The residents must love that rooftop, but it gets hot during noon.

0 stars. New owners and the management are terrible! So happy my lease is up and I'm out. Save your money, after all the changes it's a horrible place and you can find a way better place in a nicer area for the same price or even cheaper. I'm surprised they even dare to raise the rent. Horrible. Most people are moving out including me. I used to love living here, what a shame.

I've been living in the building for about 5 months now and I have nothing but great things to say about the building, management and maintenance, and the atmosphere provided each and every day. In my experience, the property manager Jaymee is always available, quick to reply or get back to you, and is always ready to help with whatever you need. She greets you when passing and always asks about your day-Never anything but friendly and sweet. I like the personal touch it adds to living here. The Hollywood Tower itself is full of history, magic and wonder. There is so much personality and story in the walls of this building and each and every day is something new. I personally fell in love with the private rooftop lounges and the views of the city and mountains that they provide. They were the real deal breaker for me. Its nice living in such an iconic spot in Hollywood and definitely feel I make the right choice when looking for a new place to call home.

Love the new pics they just put up!!! Hope we can have more events soon. Jacqueline is hilarious! She's always craking jokes but she makes sure she stays on top of my requests too. All and all I like it. I have nothing but good things to say. Closer to work, cool neighbors, old school vibe. I'm a fan.

My sister and I moved in a year ago. Hollywood tower has been amazing. Chad the manager and the office staff are always so nice, and amazing!! Seriously I can't say enough good things about how great they are. They really made me feel at home. The place is kept up so well and so clean all the time and it's beautiful! If chad ever left, I would follow him he is that amazing!

What an awesome place to have a hidden concert right in your own backyard. Rooftop garden with water fountain, bbq grills and a beautiful view of LA and the Hollywood sign. Personally I wouldn't want to live at the Hollywood Tower because there is too much foot traffic going through the apartments who don't live there but it is pretty cool to check this place out if you ever get invited to a concert on the roof.

BEWARE!!! IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO ENJOY THE POOL BECAUSE THEY PUMP THE MOST GODAWFUL MUSIC INTO IT. LIKE SERIOUSLY THE WORST MUSIC EVER!! LIKE THE MUSIC THEY PLAY IN MALLS IN THE VALLEY OR SOMETHING. IT IS NOT RELAXING "POOL" MUSIC, IT IS LIKE YOU ARE STUCK AT A BAD PROM IN THE VALLEY AND CAN'T ESCAPE. IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO RELAX AND ENJOY THE POOL OR THE JACUZZI WITHOUT BEING FORCED TO LISTEN TO THE EXACT SAME MUSIC THAT WOULD MAKE YOU SHUT OFF THE RADIO IF IT CAME ON. I'M NOT EXAGGERATING IT'S REALLY THAT BAD. Other than that the building would be fine. A bit overpriced but fine. Unfortunately, having the pool environment COMPLETELY DESTROYED makes this the worst choice ever.

I lived there for a year or so and despite some reviews, I had a great experience. My g/f at the time and I lived in the new La Belle and had Andi as our leasing agent. We lived in a corner apartment on the 2nd floor which was away from the noise and soon after moved to a Penthouse over looking the pool. Don't expect not to be engulfed in what Hollywood really is. Its Hollywood expect parties. While we lived there they did change Managers and things did change for the better. Any or our issues with the apartment were always met in a timely manor. The HT did there best by having floors cleaned and rugs shampooed on a regular basis. The grounds were well groomed. The parking could get a bit cramped with The Penthouse Concerts but its not everyday. The amenities are endless. The gym is clean and has all you need. Weekend Yoga classes. Private trainer available.. Grill and lunges ... I am Happy to have lived there. If you can afford it you will be happy too.

When I first moved in to Hollywood Tower apartments the water was off for DAYS!! Okay I get it it's an old building. But the manager at the time was GREAT!!! She sent emails every week and was ALWAYS in the lobby for questions and ALWAYS responded to text messages. Now Polaris fired her because she sent a notice notifying us we could not use the rooftop decks because POLARIS was having a party up there. Mind you the residents cannot have a party. Upon further investigation I have learned there is some sort of fire violation that prevents ANYONE from having events on the roof. So Polaris fired her because they were trying to do something sneaky with the mayor and have a party that is not even allowed. Meanwhile they leave us with a manager who is NEVER in the office. She back dates notices and gives only 12 hour notice instead of 24 hour. She doesn't return phone calls and if you can catch her in the office she will tell you she can solve your problems through hypnotherapy. Dear god are you kidding me!!!! This management company doesn't care about it's residents. If they did they would not fire good employees and replace them with crazy ones who can never be found!! Pay the extra money and move into La Bell. Better amenities and they are always in the office!!! And I doubt they will try to hypnotise you when you have issues! Ugh can't believe I am stuck here for a year!!

Pretty legit place to live!! Not only is the location prime, but the building is beautiful and the staff is awesome!! Shout out to the manager - i think his name was tim bird ton. Ask for him, super helpful!

I am reviewing this based off of a rooftop event, not being a tenant... Entering the building, you are greeted by swanky but stylish (French?) carpets and furniture, making it seem like the type of building where folks hang out in the foyer and hallways. On top of the roof, I enjoyed views of the Hollywood sign and the Observatory. Add in a free concert with Hanni El Khatib (and his band) preempted with some delicioso beef tacos from Gordo's Tacos (catering company: 626-482-9678), and you have a great night for this music/food lover!

We couldn't imagine living in a better place. The management is amazing, the amenities are over the top and the location is safe and convenient. We could not be happier. Cooper and Zac - La Belle Tower
