While in the area on vacation with the family, a friend of ours (a local) took us here for ice cream. What an exceptional experience! The house itself is a historical treat, and then the interesting selection of ice cream flavours, but then the wonderful stroll in the attached gardens to enjoy said ice cream. The ice cream is excellent, I tried the blueberry cheesecake. A hidden oasis in Summerside and worth a stop.

So many flavors to choose from, it’s hard to decide! I went with the Lemon Blueberry and the German Chocolate, both were absolutely delicious! The staff here are so friendly and welcoming. They even have a nice seating area off to the side where you can sit and enjoy your ice cream.

I've been to many ice cream establishments across Canada, and this is the best one I've been to yet. They have a wide selection of flavors, I think usually 16 but they change every few days. Today I ordered the coconut cream pie and Wonderbar flavors. Both were extremely good. Will look forward to visiting again next time I'm on the island.

We were really looking forward to visiting Holman's for the first time but were immediately taken aback by the price after we ordered. $18 for two medium ice creams is the most I've ever paid for scooped ice cream. I ordered Orange Chocolate and my son ordered Chocolate...and they tasted exactly the same. I thought maybe the server made a mistake but he definitely scooped them from different trays. The house was lovely and the gardens were great...and the ice cream tasted very good...it just didn't taste like what it was supposed to taste like. Still, I'm glad we visited and ticked it off the culinary bucket list.

There’s a reason the PEI locals don’t go to Cow’s, because Holman’s takes the cake (literally) for their ice creams. You can taste the difference in their ice creams; the moment you walk into the door, you can smell the freshly baked cakes and the ice cream flavours wafting through the air. I loved their Black Forest flavour and the brownie sundae, even more enjoying them in the lovely backyard of the parlour. Also one of the most reasonable prices I have come across for ice creams in this part of the world.

FROZEN IN TIME. HOLMAN'S, the icecream parlour with a rich past, where every bite is a step back in time. Here each flavour becomes a portal to a new world transporting you to a forest where wild flowers bloom . Every bite from the rich dark chocolate or the blueberry lemon curd will make the reality melt away leaving you with the sense of wonder and awe.New flavours and new worlds, each more enchanting than the last . Each bite will make you smile, knowing that you will return to this wonderful world, ONE SCOOP AT A TIME.

Google
It's a nice locally-owned ice cream parlor that makes all of its own ice creams in house and even pays homage to lore in the local area. I had the strawberry cordial because what else could you order while in PEI and I was a little disappointed with it. The actual cordial syrup they used had a very basic flavor and could have easily been smuckers. The second scoop I had was on daily special and it was very well done.

Stopped at Holman's on a day trip to Summerside. This ice cream parlour is situated in a beautiful old house with plenty of indoor seating, as well as tables in the lovely outdoor garden. With so many ice cream flavours and sundae options to choose from, you can't really go wrong here. Would highly recommend! A big plus is the many gluten-friendly flavour options that are available... amazing!

Yelp
Excellent first time visit. So much fantastic ice cream. I had the sampler & loved all but one (vanilla with a surprise "mix in" that I didn't care for. ) My husband had a delicious classic banana split. Staff very nice. Setting both inside and out was delightful. So very happy we stopped in & highly recommend this business to others.

Yelp
We came here after dinner and the bowl full of ice cream was over the top. There were so many options it was hard to choose. There are a lot of places to sit at and enjoy from the location. Going to recommend if you get the bowl you share with a few friends or family.

Yelp
Great ice cream that is very creamy. Great location inside an old cape cod style home. Beautiful gardens with picnic tables, Adirondack Chairs and seats. Reasonable prices and friendly staff.

Yelp
Well worth the drive to summer side. The line up to get ice cream said it all. We tried the classic sundae and the 'spaghetti and meatball' ice cream. Just wow. A fantastic end to a great day. The house and gardens hold a lot of history and we found it interesting. Like stepping back in time to my grandparents house.

Yelp
Amazing home made ice cream! Get the sample platter where you could try 5 different ones. The sorbets actually were the stand out. Place was cute. Service was friendly.

Yelp
Since the kids took over they have been short cutting. Smaller scoops and today's visit the waffle cone was not fresh. It is good except for that.

Karen F.

Yelp
All ice cream is freshly made everyday. The restaurant has a stunning garden. It's worth to go and enjoy afternoon tea there.

Yelp
Yummy locally sourced ingredients to make various ice cream served in a cup or waffle cone/bowl! We tried vanilla, chocolate, raspberry lemon sorbet, coffee mocha and caramel machiato flavors!

Yelp
If you are visiting PEI, skip Cows and come straight to this place to enjoy some homemade ice cream in a beautiful setting, at a fair price. With 16 different flavors, all seven of us were able to find something that we each liked. And there were some pretty creative ones, such as Mexican Chocolate - spicy, and monkey bread. As the parlor is part of an inn, it is located inside of a well-maintained Victorian. We came on a quiet Wednesday afternoon and sat at a table overlooking the beautiful garden. The place offers an authentic atmosphere without trying too hard, and the ice cream is delicious!

Yelp
Awesome ice cream parlour!!!! Don't be decived by the huge tacky nostalgia ice cream flags. This ice cream parlour is situated in a heritage home, with lovely antique inner decors. There is also a lovely garden for patio seatings in the summer. The ice cream quality is top notch: milky and creamy, bold and true to flavours!!! We tried the 5 scoop sampler: generous scoops, sharing recommended. Lemon Curd blueberry Swirl: more on the lemony side, unique combination with strong flavours. Mexican chocolate: loaded with spices, loved it. ** Warning: bold, full spicy flavours!!! Chocolate: super creamy dense chocolate, melts like chocolate milk in your mouth. Salted caramel: more on the salty side, you can taste hints of caramel if you savour it in your mouth. Enjoyed ending my palate with this simple flavour. Strawberry: BEST AMONG these 5. Simple, real authentic summer ripenned strawberry flavour. They have many syrups for DIY sundae combinations. They also sell Gouda from the infamous Gouda lady on PEI (smoked, original, peppercorn) and Island made cheese curds. Their ice cream cones look amazing with generous scoops (that is how ice cream should be scooped!!!) though we didn't have much room left in our stomachs. Absolutely enjoyed it, would come every week if I lived in summerside. A must visit if you're in town.

Yelp
Wherever you are on PEI, drive to Holman's now! You might as well order 2 things the first time and save yourself standing in line a second time. Awesome homemade old fashioned ice cream, floats, sundaes, and sodas in a cute Victorian setting. GO....go now!!!!

Yelp
Absolutely amazing! Going to Holman's was a must do for our trip to PEI. A really nice selection for flavours served by excellent and helpful staff. This ice cream is probably the best I have ever had - and I've had a lot of ice cream . Traditional and less traditional flavours for the more adventurous. The ambiance of the ice cream parlour is part of the charm. And being able to sit outside in a beautiful garden at at campfire was amazing. Three out of our group of four went back for a round two even tho they had to wait through a pretty long line again. Prices are very reasonable compared to other places. We all know the big player in ice cream on the island - and Holman's is so much better. LOnly recommendation would be some non-dairy options that aren't sorbet. Sorbet is great but it's not ice cream. But regardless this place is great and well worth the trip to Summerside.

Yelp
The other reviews aren't lying, this is some amazing ice cream! The day we visited they even had dairy free and lactose free options. Speaking of options, they also have a soda counter, so you can indulge in a float if that's your thing. But back to ice cream! The waffle cones are made as they go, making the whole place smell AMAZING! The flavours have something for everyone, and everything we tried was delicious, but our fav was the blueberry and lemon. We used it as a stop between Cavendish and the bridge, and it was just perfect. Not only is Holman's set in a beautiful old house, they have outdoor gardens with places to sit (or roam, if you are a rambunctious 3 year old, like my son). We enjoyed the opportunity to stretch our legs for a bit and enjoy the calm.

Yelp
Came here from Toronto on our PEI vacation. This was my favourite ice cream stop on the island, WAY better than Cows. To say it's homey is an understatement. The ice cream shop is literally inside a historical house: The Holman homestead, which was built in 1855. The house is furnished with antique furniture, and you can sit in the downstairs living area to eat. The ice creams flavours rotate. We came here at the beginning of our trip, and at the end, and there were several new flavours. The "Tin Roof" was our favourite! The teens working at the shop for the summer are super friendly, even when it's busy.

Yelp
Holman's Ice Cream is the best. Everything is homemade and delicious. I have never had a bad flavour they are all delicious and the atmosphere is 2nd to none.

Maybelle G.

Yelp
The best ice cream on PEI! We have visited several competitors, including two other highly recommended homemade, and we prefer Holman's through and through. They give a proper scoop (big, but not so big it ruins supper) for a fair price. Their flavors are delicious with a mix of familiar, seasonal, and an oddball for the adventuresome. The staff was very friendly, the facility is clean and beautiful, and they have a well maintained Victorian garden with a smattering of seating should you choose to sit outside. Do yourself a favor and stop by. Wednesday is their whacky flavor day if that's your sort of thing.

Yelp
We got it suggested to us by the lovely women running the used book store and we decided to stop in. The decor is adorable and it creates a very.... Anne of green gables vibe. The ice cream was the best I had on the trip, better then cow. The outdoor seating was very convenient and the garden area was well kept. Overall, a very good place to stop!

Yelp
While staying in PEI I made it my personal mission to find the best icecream on the island and I can confidently say that Holman's was absolute perfection! We had made the drive to Summerside to check out Spinnakers Landing and the icecream there was pretty disappointing - funny enough it was the girls working the icrecream shop there that told me Holmans was the best. I'm so glad they were honest with us! I made the rookie mistake of not getting a waffle cone as I opted for the 5 scoop sampler to try as many flavours as possible. Luckily my husband went back after we finished our 5 scoops and ordered a waffle cone - it's a taste not to be missed. There's something very unique about the texture - thin and crisp but also flaky and sweet. They also have some pretty cool looking milkshakes which we will try on our next visit to PEI. As if the flavours aren't enough to knock your socks off, the indoor and outdoor seating is really lovely. I'm giving them a perfect review but if I had to suggest one thing for future it would be to add an espresso machine :)

Yelp
If you are ever in Summerside and you want some amazing ice cream, go to Holman's. They have the most local ice cream in the world!

Yelp
Best Ice Cream Ever! Lots of unique flavors. Hard to pick just one! The sampler platter is a perfect choice so that you can try more flavors. Atmosphere is wonderful. Owners and staff are very passionate about what they do.

Yelp
"Life changing ice cream" - daughter. Went to this place 3 out of 5 days we were on PEI. It's that good. Better than COWS. In addition to the amazing ice cream, the service was quick and friendly and there's plenty of seating. Blueberry and chocolate were the family favorites.

Joy O.

Yelp
Holman's Ice Cream Parlour is amazing. The ice cream is better than Cows and the atmosphere takes you back 50 years. I little hard to find, but worth the search.

Tom H.

Yelp
Read about Holman's and had to try it on our trip to PEI this year. The ice cream was fantastic and the server was enthusiastic and friendly. We were dithering over the flavours so he suggested we order split single scoops so we could have two flavours each. An excellent suggestion! The ice cream is homemade and maybe the best I've ever had. They had a seasonal pumpkin spice that was heavenly. They make fresh waffle cones that are tasty and would be a treat alone. The historic decor and great seating choices are a bonus. Worth the drive if you are on the island.
