My wife and I stayed at Holmhead Guest House recently (August 2019) after seeing that they are close to the Hadrian's Wall footpath and the Roman army museum ( I'm a bit of a history buff!!)||||Alan and his wife Judy were such warm, welcoming hosts and, after a long car journey, made us feel very welcome. The room was clean, comfortable and cosy; just what we wanted and were not disappointed. The bed was very comfy and the bathroom was spotless.||||After a quick shower each we went to the local pub in the village, the Greenhead Hotel, which was also good.||||All the produce is from local butchers for their full English breakfast. Tea, coffee, freshly made fruit salad (delicious),toast, jams, marmalades, etc, etc, etc were all on offer. For small business they certainly put on an impressive spread!||||Holmhead Guest House backs onto a delightful stream, a ruined castle making and the Hadrian's Wall footpath is literally just outside.
